How do I say, without coming across as a jaded miserable little bitch who likes raining on everybody's parade, that the PJO Disney plus adaption is nostalgia bait, in the same way that their live action remakes are

any opinions on percy jackson.

I have nothing interesting to say. My feelings about it are very lukewarm. I didn't actually read the original series until I was like 21 after years of not understanding Percy Jackson references. I wanted to Know. Well I read them and I Know everything now. At least the parts I remember. I think Percy Jackson is definitely one of those things you need to get obsessed with as a kid in order to successfully carry that fondness for the series into adulthood. If you try to get into it as an adult, it just doesn't work. Percy Jackson is the egg and the adult brain is the nonstick pan.

I read a little bit of Heroes of Olympus but I think at this point I realized these books just weren't for me so I didn't finish.

But I think it's a cute funny earnest exciting educational and timeless series. Very good brain food for kids. And clearly a comfort for adults who grew up with it. A quality piece of lit all around. Glad it makes people happy.

I don't care for the author much but this ain't about him. I will say that I really don't like how he's being hailed as the unproblematic angel to contrast Rowling's devil. Please stop putting authors on pedestals, it never leads to good things.

I hope people are enjoying their new show, but also I hope we are all pirating. Remember to boycott Disneyplus, ok peace and love <333
