if he didn’t have concerns about being at school before, he does now. and he hates that stupid hat. after all that nonsense from other wizards, whispering about how his parents had attended durmstrang before moving out here, the thing puts him in this house? now everyone would think they were sympathizers no matter how long it’d been since he-who-must-not-be-named had died. it’s one thing being able to go home and ignore the whispers because they aren’t there anymore; its another entirely being stuck in the school with a bunch of suspicious gossips. or proud gossips looking for some validating additions to their circles.

but no, the hat said and now he has to stay put. pietro doesn’t catch a wink the entire first night in the castle, too busy alternating between stewing angrily over the decision and worrying about his sister. they’d never been more than a hallway apart before, and what if she needed him? something could happen. anything. maybe she isn’t getting any sleep either; merlin he hopes she is. wanda always becomes the biggest grouch when she’s tired.

he’ll have to talk to her in the morning. maybe breakfast will smooth things over a little. and if not, well he can always write a letter home yelling about it too.

pietro is a slytherin student at hogwarts. his parents moved to a decent-sized property just a few hills away from the lovegood and weasley families shortly after the fall of voldemort, hoping for a quiet place to raise him and his twin wanda.
