//Tough question. Probably not this year. I'm still digging myself out of my hiatus hole. Fighting writer's block is a daily struggle right now so I cannot really be in the position to make promises for anything.

There are a lot of threads I love and in particular I'd like to make my mutuals feel appreciated, but I'm not sure how to do it without overwhelming myself with a deadline. So, I think what I will do for Valentine's Day is simply to try even harder to dish out some replies.

Pretty underwhelming, I know, but it is the state of things right now.

//So, I've been paying attention to my analytics for the past few weeks and have noticed a suspicious decrease in engagement. No doubt this has to do with my lower activity, but a part of me worries I might have been shadow-banned in some form. I'll look into ways to double-check this.

Regardless, I feel a cleaning of my mutuals is long overdue. A lot of them have gone MIA or have never interacted after following (Rule n.4 always applies, and although I never set a time limit for it, I believe months with no attempted interactions is a reasonable time window to determine a blog's interest), and maybe with a less cluttered dash I will be able to make new friends as well.

Obviously, those who have been writing with me for a long time but have gone on a semi-hiatus for any reason do not have to worry about anything. So long as we keep tabs and I know what's up, I have no reason to unfollow your blog.

As a reminder, I never hard-block when cutting ties with a mutual (barring drama), and people are always welcome to follow me again if they become interested in my muses at a later time. If I'm cutting ties with a mutuals-only blog, I will try to remember and soft-block them, but I'm going through 200+ names here, so I apologize if I accidentally just unfollow your mutuals-only blog instead of soft-blocking it as you'd like. Don't be angry at me if this happens, it's an accident, and I believe curating your partner's tumblr space should not be your responsibility but their own.

Rules Update - Time Traveling

//My rules page was updated to add a bonus rule concerning what is known as "time traveling" in a RP reply. This has nothing to do with the Time Traveling Story Genre! Please read on:

BONUS: If it can be helped, avoid “Time traveling” in your post. This is when a character reacts or replies to something that happened earlier in my reply rather than focus on what is being said or done by the end of my post. This is to prevent the creation of two conversations going on at the same time between our characters, which might lead to unrealistic consequences and forced retcons. Click here for an example of problematic time traveling in a RP post. Keep in mind this is just a pet peeve of mine and not a deal breaker if it happens. I might be forced to do it myself if my partner corners me into it, so I’ve come to accept it. Though this is in my rules, it will not lead to any blocking or gripes if it happens between us. I’m just letting you know what I like best.

New Year, Same Etiquette

//Hello guys. Just rolling by to toss this lil PSA.

This is a reminder that my blog is open to all.

That means we can interact even if we are not mutuals! Of course, that is assuming your blog is not mutuals-only. The ball is in your court.

But Saru, WHY are we not mutuals?

At present I am following a little under 200 blogs and for my own sanity I cannot let that number grow. In fact I might need to lower that threshold soon. The dash has been crazy. That doesn't mean I won't follow back from time to time. I feel like I have pretty lax requirements to do that.

I will follow back if: 1) I know the mun and enjoy writing with them OR 2) I don't know the mun, but I am familiar with the muse's fandom OR 3) Despite being unfamiliar with the muse fandom, I find the bio interesting and with potential for things I haven't explored yet (wink wink at fandomless OC blogs~) if none of these conditions are met I will probably not follow back, but I'm an open blog. If a blog I didn't follow interacts with me and I like what they're offering, chances are I'll follow back then.

Lastly, reminder of my rules.

My rules always apply with almost no exception. Rule n.4 is especially important to me. If you haven't at least reached out to me in some form to let me know what muse you want from me (and this means anything: send an ask, send a meme, engage a stater, drop a message, etc.), it'll be difficult for me to engage you. No, this isn't me trying to be entitled. When I follow a blog I always do them the courtesy of reaching out first and letting them know what I want, so I'm only asking to receive the same kindness in return. If I had to take the initiative every time someone follows me out of the blue, I would have absolutely no time left to actually roleplay.

I was in a really awful place in my head throughout the year, and your kindness and warmth have allowed me to pull through some of the most difficult challenges I've had to face. It's been a rough year for many, and for you as well, but despite this you never gave up and continued on shining that light of kindness and friendship that I can only hope to shine back at you in my own way someday.

Our lil comfort muses work like magic together and I never tire of discussing and gushing about them with you. Chongyun and Cyno complement each other so well it shocked even me! Thank you for this wonderful ride, and the many others you offer with all your great muses~

//Here it is, finally finished. It's a little warped in the picture because of the bad angle (I took the picture on my own). Also some colors are off because right now the skin is ANGRY.

Those who have been with me for a while know the story behind this tattoo already. The lil kitty you see on the scale is Kenjii, my 9-years-old loyal companion who left me suddenly back in February. The mourning was a rollercoaster that almost left me completely empty, but at last I think I have reached peace, also thanks to this project.

The night Kenjii passed away was just before the day I had booked in for my first ever Cyno tattoo, which originally was meant to be just his banner splash art. It started as a coincidence, but it inexplicably connected him and Kenjii forever for me. I am sincerely grateful for this comfort character who has guided me through my grief, and even more grateful to all of you who have helped him come to life on this blog.

I was C0 last week. Here's how it all unfolded:

C1: Guaranteed, 13 pulls in. (1 x10 pull)

C2: Won 50/50, 76 pulls in. (9 single pulls + 7 x10 pulls)

C3: Won 50/50, 77 pulls in. (8 x10 pulls)

C4: Won 50/50, 22 pulls in. (2 x10 pulls)

Lost 50/50 to Keqing, 75 pulls in. (8 x10 pulls)

C5: Guaranteed Cyno, 77 pulls in, got Jean in the same x10 pull (counting as "losing" the next 50/50). (8 x10 pulls)

Last x10 pull, no 5-stars.

Ran out of primos at this point. Converted what I had left in the Starglitter Shop for 5 Intertwined Fates.

C6: Guaranteed, 12 pulls in! (2 single pulls!)

I absolutely didn't expect this turnout. When I put my savings aside, I expected to walk out with C3 at best. Looks like Cyno was in a mood to come home again and again~
