so. zhongli bot was really nice. he behaved how i wanted him to behave, and most of the time he's not ooc. i am assuming this is because the ai has a large knowledge base for canon & fanon zhongli on top of my definitions, which would kind of make sense that he's really good straight out of the box.

which then made me want to experiment with a very 'niche' character that isn't canon (i wanted to see how they would act because this way they won't be able to use the canon character as its knowledge base).

and i was right, he was so ooc it's painful but yk what it gets better-

This course was developed by experts in the food industry as a comprehensive training tool for anyone who handles food and serves the public.

RIACE – “Nullu tempu dura: no’ ‘u bonu e no’ ‘u malu”. In italiano si traduce con “Nulla è eterno: ne’ i periodi felici e ne’ quelli cattivi”. La notizia, diffusa in mattinata, della revoca del divieto di dimora per l’ex sindaco di Riace Mimmo Lucano ci fa venire in mente questo caposaldo della saggezza popolare calabrese e ci restituisce, soprattutto, una giustizia più giusta, in cui una persona sotto processo per determinati reati e che intende difendersi, come dicono quelli bravi “Nel processo e non dal processo”, se non ricorrono rischi concreti di reiterazione del presunto reato, di fuga, o di inquinamento delle prove, può rispondere tranquillamente a piede libero. 

Ma torniamo al “nullu tempu dura”: implica un duplice insegnamento, ovvero l’invito a non abbattersi quando le cose vanno male e a non esaltarsi, a non montarsi la testa quando il vento gira a favore. 

Ovvio? Scontato? Non nella politica attuale, in cui a partire da Salvini per finire ai tanti salvinetti paesani di ogni sigla, simbolo e paese, l’estremizzazione dello scontro (giocato più con tecniche da influencer dei social network che da comunicatore politico) porta ad assumere dei toni più consoni a un film di cassetta degli anni ’80, tipo un Rocky IV in cui il protagonista interpretato da Sylvester Stallone si vedeva minacciare dal suo rivale russo Ivan Drago col celebre “Io ti spiezzo in due”.

Con la differenza che la comunicazione politica attuale non disdegna i colpi bassi. Già, perché pur con tutta la prudenza che si deve a un processo in corso in cui le eventuali responsabilità o la loro insussistenza devono essere provati, non ci sfugge come “Mimì capatosta” sia stato trattato in questi mesi non solo dai giornali di destra o dai profili Facebook dei salvinetti paesani, ma soprattutto da improbabili testate on line spuntate dal nulla, come certi funghi dopo un giorno di pioggia, e in cui, seppur senza firma del loro estensore, comparivano “articoli” in cui l’ex sindaco di Riace veniva descritto come un gaudente dedito alla bella vita, in una sorta di esilio dorato – manco fosse a Dubai…- in cui gozzovigliava e spendeva soldi forse male guadagnati. 

Chi si è posto il problema della veridicità di certe notizie a parte gli avvocati di Lucano e i sostenitori del comitato “11 giugno”? Pochi. Tra loro qualche giornalista rigoroso e illuminato e qualche uomo di legge. Quasi tutti gli altri hanno condiviso certi “articoli” sui propri profili social, alimentando la menzogna e spacciandola per verità.

Ecco, il rischio è anche questo: lasciare che qualcuno (magari dall’estero, o al di là degli Urali) possa manipolare l’informazione in Italia, approfittando di un’opinione pubblica quasi sempre assente, inebetita dal web e dai social network in cui si sfogano solo i propri istinti e si dà retta alle proprie ansie e pulsioni. 

La cronaca di questi giorni, invece, ci dice che non è più tempo di tribuni che parlano alla pancia della gente, che di bagni di folla ci si può ubriacare e perdere il senno, anche se non si abusa di cocktail in spiaggia e che il vento è cambiato in pochissimo tempo. Con buona pace degli epigoni del salvinismo e di chi gonfiava il petto prendendosela coi disperati dei barconi o con gli “ultimi”, solo per distogliere l’attenzione quelli che sono i veri drammi del Paese, dalla mancanza di lavoro per colpa di un’economia stagnante alla corruzione, dalla burocrazia sclerotizzata alla criminalità organizzata e ai suoi disastri.

Insomma, nullu tempu dura. E Lucano, tornando a casa, dopo aver riabbracciato il padre, troverà una Riace meno vivace e colorata ma pur sempre viva e meta di importanti flussi di turismo culturale e ideologico che in migliaia (specie nei giorni del magnifico “Riace in festival” degli inizi di agosto) vogliono visitare tutto l’anno, per toccare con mano questo posto simbolico che ha ispirato artisti, registi, missionari, volontari, e perfino fumetti Marvel e fiction televisive. E tutto questo grazie all’opera di chi, come Lucano, ha sempre odiato telecamere e riflettori ma che in vent’anni, fatti salvi molti errori di inesperienza amministrativa e forse non eccelsa capacità politica, ha portato un piccolo paese dell’entroterra calabrese alla ribalta mondiale, perchè luogo di solidarietà e accoglienza. Un dato su cui nessuna procura e nessuna fake new potrà mai obiettare alcunché.

Intanto, bentornato Mimì.

  Centrisys Receives Award From Salvation Army

Kamstrup has posted record-breaking revenue for the ninth year in a row with turnover of $367 million in 2018. The pre-tax profit for 2018 was $49 million.

  MARS Extends Test Bench Upgrade Program

MARS Company have announced that due to overwhelming positive demand it has extended the C715 Test Bench Equipment Upgrade Program.   Cynash Expands to Northern Ireland With New Office and Subsidiary

100 Days of Comics! 003/100: Legionnaires #9 (1993)

And a third rummage into my assorted box of mystery gets me another 90s comic. But its DC and its 90s version of Legion of Super-Heroes and I’ve been reading the original Legion of Super-Heroes comics recently and finding them funny so maybe this will be more my speed.

I mean, there’s an ad for Reign of the Supermen cards on the inside cover and Matter-Eater Lad is wearing douchy sunglasses on the cast page so maybe not but WE’LL SEE!

Matter-Eater Lad is also making fun of me on the cast page. Everyone has a portrait and a real name and a code name and a short power description. And his power description says ‘Eats matter (stupid!)’ I came out to have a good time and etc etc.

But despite that rocky start, this comic seems fun.

So a bunch of the Legionnaires of Super-Heroes are on their cool spaceship-shaped spaceship patrolling space. There’s the jerk Matter-Eater Lad, there’s Andromeda, Catspaw, Dragonmage, and Shrinking Violet.

Its been boring but suddenly a freighter speeds past them, breaking the speed limit. LEGIONNAIRES ARE ON DUTY! Although actually, they’re Khunds and they invaded Andromeda’s world and killed her parents so she’s going to go beat them up now, bye.

Andromeda’s costume is slightly awkward because a lot of it looks close-ish to her skin tone. And the colors are laid out in a way that the skin tone parts of the costume could reasonably be where no costume is considering the worst excesses of the 90s.

Anyway, Andromeda beats up the Khund and turns them over to the Science Police. I don’t know whether they police science or police with science. MAYBE BOTH.

But while she was doing that, another ship popped out behind the Legionnaire ship and shot them down, forcing them to crash on a nearby planet.

And things instantly feel a bit... um... Forbidden Planety. The stranded Legionnaires meet what could be guessed to be their hearts fondest person. Catspaw meets some Ansis blond Han Solo dressing dude who apparently sold her out to the Dominators during the War. But he totally loves her and wants her to see this cool crashed ship.

Shrinking Violet starts flirting with Matter-Eater Lad and Dragonmage finds Chu Hua, his instructor in the mystic arts. And they suggest going to this cool crashed ship and messaging Earth that they don’t need immediate rescue.

Things get weird when Matter-Eater Lad is about to make out with Shrinking Violet but then hears moaning in the bushes and finds an unconscious second Shrinking Violet. Cause, yeah, that’s weird.

Meanwhile back on Earth, other of the Legionnaire’s (Inferno, Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl, and Livewire) are participating in the annual Shaming of People With Dumber Powers Than We Have. Accordion King and Barber Boy just aren’t what the Legion is looking for.

But then the president (presumably of Earth?) calls and asks the Legion to lend a hand with a food riot in Acapulco. Use their influence to calm the crowd.

They try.

But the crowd is hostile and throwing things and one of the thrown things hits Saturn Girl and Livewire loses his shit somewhat. Cosmic Boy runs between him and the crowd but Livewire SH-RAK! with a lot of lightning in his anger and whoops, kills Cosmic Boy?

Weird. Usually Livewire/Lightning Lad is the first Legionnaire to die.

So, hey, I’m only familiar with about half of the Legionnaires in this comic but I was right. It was fun. I could see myself reading this. I love space adventure and dumb kids with a lot of different powers. Planets of sinister mindtricks and whatever.
