Upon first meeting Twi’s s/o he isn’t sure because she’s so nice and welcoming not like the woman who he knew that fought her way into her position until Twi says something absurd which leads to her ranting and eventually yanking at Twi’s ear challenging him that Time is like “ah yes this is definitely a descendent of hers” has been heavy on my mind lately.

time and twi being related is so integral to my sanity its insane.

time seeing pieces of the future, his impact, the impact of those around him, and his response to it all is also just as important.

(imagining a one-on-one grandfather-grandson time-traveling trip together because what are the rest of the chain gonna be doing except for looking like🧍🏼)

Time isn't sure how they started talking of you, but he's glad to hear you made something of yourself a few centuries down the line, even if he wasn't hearing it from your words as he would've liked.

There's an unsure look on Twilight's face before he quips back with "d'ya want the good ones, or the bad ones?" Uncertainty quickly turns into adoration. "Dream girl ain't got a shortage of either."

(If Time were younger, he'd certainly gag at the nickname. It was cute though, and after Twilight had explained his reasoning for calling you that, it added onto the level of sweetness.)

Idk why I started this off like it was a fic. Anyways.

After arriving in Ordon (or wherever else you two decided to live), Time would be a little more than conflicted because?? You literally kissed Twilight's cheek and gave him the most dreamy smile??? You are not your ancestor????? But he also doesn't want to call or think of Twilight as a liar????????

(To be entirely truthful, he doesn't think Twilight has a lying bone in his body.)

After being invited inside, Time is further confused by Twilight's telling of you. You offered him clean clothes, to bandage his scrapes and bruises, and asked him what he wanted to eat since it was nearing the time you usually started dinner.

Time doesn't even think his version of you knew how to cook.

Since the dinner table only seats two (for now. Twilight is always talking about how he's gonna build a bigger one for the future), you, Time, and Twilight are settling yourselves around the living room or whatever they were called back then.

"Shame Malon ain't here, huh Old Man?"

You elbow Twilight hard enough to almost make him drop him plate while hissing "don't be rude," and that's when Time finally starts to see the similarities between his you and Twilight's you.

"What? 'm not the only one that calls him old man! Everyone does! He said we could call 'em that to!"

"Oh, so it's your job to point out the obvious now? What if he was insecure about his age?"

"He ain't!"

The second thing that makes him reason that you really hadn't changed in over a hundred years is when you kick Twilight for pulling your feet into his lap while the plates were still present.

You said it was a hygiene thing, Twilight joked that it was because your feet were ugly.

There's a knot on Twilight's head now.

Totally unrelated but just had the brief image of Time laying in bed with Malon once they hit his timeline and he's just telling her all about his time staying with you and Twilight to try and convince her about moving the whole having kids things to now instead of later.

Also imagining him finding you in his timeline and just gossiping, asking if you've found anyone special to settle down with.

(Time looks like he gives and gets good gossip. He looks like he knows exactly what to say/do to get the good stuff because of everything from Majora's Mask.)

ANYWAYS.

Time sees a lot more of his you in Twilight's you the day after. Whether you work alongside Twilight or somewhere in the city (or not at all), he's able to see everything in your mannerisms.

(You asked if he wanted to do the equivalent of a ride-along while you were out and he's never said yes to something so quickly— except when Malon asked him out. Y'all are def talking about stupid shit Twilight's done.)

From how you haggle prices down, to how you drive away people who had less than innocent intentions (from yourself and others. He'd have a field day retelling how you verbally bullied a man for trying to steal from an older woman), it all just screamed his you.

Time remembers his reader his friend as someone who was determined and would never back from a dare or a fight. Hell she found a way to join the Royal Guard. So when Twilight is telling them all about his girlfriend he doesn’t think is friends descendant. In the nicest way possible she sounds to soft to gentle to be related to the woman who was his closest friend. It was his turn to keep watch, the woods were quiet all but the chirping of crickets and the crackling of fire before he turned his head only to see something silver pointed at him a couple feet away. Twilight only happened to be awake because he couldn’t sleep knowing he’s almost in his lovers hands he goes out further into the clearing but he sees Time staring at something almost frozen not in fear but in anticipation. ____ steps towards them, not the safest decision but the second figure looks familiar. “What are you doing on my land this late?” She called out still looking at Time before her eyes darting to Twlight. “____?” “Link?”

or she's some sort of mysterious figure who always appears out of nowhere (and gets to places you'd least expect to find them in) and isn't there when you turn around to look at them? like, maybe she showed up on the great plateau when wild first woke up, was questioned by the king as to how she got there, she just hits him with a "don't worry 'bout it sweetheart," and sticks with wild until he's ready before literally disappearing once he lands on the ground outside the great plateau? then at some point, he finds her again, asks where she's been, and he gets hit with "i was out having fun and getting what i needed to be done," before sticking with him for a few more days and ultimately disappearing again

imagine if she just showed up in the lost woods while he was about to get the master sword and absolutely scared him with "you'll probably want to get more health for that. it'll knock a lot out of you." "how do you know?" "just know that i know and be thankful that i told you," before going off to trade with some koroks and disappearing??

or what if she's a good friend of link's (or lover. idk) that died over the course of the hundred years he's been asleep? she's a ghost like the king, but because she doesn't have to guide him and help him relearn things (the king took that upon himself), she's just there to keep him company? because either zelda or the gerudo (keeping the geurdo to my heart no matter what 🤞🏽) managed to turn her into a spirit/ghost that's not exactly similar to the champions in the sense she isn't stuck to one spot/person and has her own separate set of rules? maybe she's not able to be seen by anyone else except wild so he has to do this, that, and the third to not look insane when she's talking to him in front of people? then, when everything's said and done, she doesn't disappear like the champions or the king because she's was created by the gerudo/zelda?-- or, if zelda made her, she's significantly weaker than 100 years before (and grows weaker the longer wild takes to beat ganon) since zelda's grown weaker as well, but as time passes post-ganon's defeat, she grows stronger?

Times [Name] being feral is so funny because she was actually socialized with Hylian culture and people and she had parents but she acts like she was raised in the forest. Twi’s [name] despite being left to her own devices in the forest and being raised by it at a very young age is very socialized and is normal and has actual self preservation. The more Twi watches Times [name] the more he’s shocked to find out that she even lived long enough to have kids. So it time but he’s not going to say that part out loud. Twi’s Name and Times name have the same name and look similar but not identical, Times [Name] was definitely taller and more lean where as Twi’s name is a bit shorter and plumper. Twi’s [Name] definitely has more hair however where as Times was shorter due to being in the Royal Guard (think the same length as Botw/Totk Zelda).

Twi’s [name] definitely had her share of adventures as of right now she technically doesn’t have a shadow (reasons to be told later should anyone notice it which it would most likely be Time) and she while twi was with the chain had taken in two children, why? They reminded her of Twi and herself (also the reason she currently has no shadow) that’s why she was checking the perimeter of her land when she met the chain. Times [name] never thought she would’ve had kids honestly. She was also raised the daughter of a smith and knows her way around a sword whereas Twi’s knows her way around a bow and arrow.

They both punch hard something time and twi know well. They both tilt their head up and look at the sky the minute they know someone is spouting bullshit because they know if they look at the person they’re going to go off. Twi’s [name] is more of a homemaker so she has the skills in terms of cooking and gardening that Time’s didn’t.

These are just some rough ideas I had please feel free to add more and yes Time sound’s like Howl to me and Twi sounds like a young Matthew McConaughey -🧚🏽‍♀️

i'd imagine time's [name] is more acquainted with formal combat (wars, large monster hoards, etc) whereas twi's is better with bar fights? time's version requires her to be stronger to, so she probably wouldn't have to flex to catch a glimpse of her muscles lmao

maybe twi's [name] grew up an orphan like twi, which is why she resonates with the kids she took in? since time's [name] is the opposite, maybe she's unused to being familial around kids since she's so used to hard and sharp things?

So they make it back to Time’s Hyrule or whatever and Time and the gang decide to make a pit stop at Athena’s and instead of her answering the door it’s Percival and homeboy is stressed because Athena woke up one day and decided she’s going to travel. Now it’s not that Percival is doubtful in her skills to protect herself it’s just that he woke up and she was already gone no note or anything. So Percival is like “Bro you knew her since y’all were kids, how do you deal with the stress of this.” And Time is like “You don’t, and now I have to make sure that my wife home.”

Ie: Malon and Athena go on Girl’s Trip across Hyrule without telling anyone.

I’d also like to see Twi watching this and I’d like I know that’s songbirds ancestor but they’re literally nothing alike because she would never -🧚🏽‍♀️

songbird told twi that she was leaving for a few days, but he ended up forgetting 😭😭 he would probably have a search party for her or something by the end of the first fifteen minutes

hi so completely unrelated anon here— i’ve been stalking this whole thread on athena, aphrodite, songbird, atalanta, etc. mayhaps, can i have the lion thoughts about atalanta? thoughts, perhaps, involving the whole century long situation? the yearning!! the longing!!

hey anon! i saw your other ask and dw abt it! i'll take any opportunity to spill my thoughts, but i kinda held off since atalanta is more 🧚🏽‍♀️'s creation and i didn't wanna like,, shoehorn (???) it-- but at the same time, like i said, if i'm prompted i will ramble and make no sense whatsoever. so.

in atalanta's original story, she was turned into a lion by artemis/zeus because she lost her virginity/having sex in his sanctuary (respectively), right? i'd imagine that [name] was turned into an animal by ganondorf because she had relations (either romantic or sexual, both would be good enough reason for him) with wild/flora

(keeping in mind that [name] is gerudo and i'd imagine that ganondorf wouldn't take kindly to any of them (the gerudo) having relations with his enemies-- especially the ones that are his sworn, eternity-long enemies that kill him almost every single lifetime)

(she likely didn't even know he was the link or recognize that flora was the princess. they were just two foreigners she took a liking to and ganondorf wanted to be safe and assure nothing came from it)

(but on that note, i like to ignore most of what botw/totk say lorewise when it comes to each race/species. i like to imagine that even though the gerudo supposedly turned ganondorf away from them, they're still 🤞🏽 with him because being in cahoots with him put them in a lot of danger)

i imagine that ganondorf wouldn't turn [name] into an animal like a lion, but rather a monster of sorts? maybe a unique lynel that's not white, blue, golden, or silver-maned? either that or an animal that can only survive in the desert (to lessen the chances of link finding her) that's mystical like a blupee?

(i also think that ganondorf planned to turn her back after a certain amount of time (not a century) but got caught up with his battle with zelda in the castle and was perpetually like "wtf am i forgetting")

it wouldn't take long for rumors surrounding [name]'s sudden transformation to spread among the gerudo and news of a mythical creature to reach outside the deserts.

the gerudo know better than to approach [name] with malicious intentions not only because she's still their sister regardless of her form, but because the monsters that are always surrounding her act like bodyguards (more assurance. they aren't aggressive to gerudo). her tale is a required story for (gerudo) mothers to tell their (gerudo) daughters as both a cautionary tale to be careful of who they choose as lovers and so they're aware that she (and her monsters) are friend rather than foe.

(the monsters are like the hippomenes to her atalanta, just platonically)

[name]'s tale isn't known outside anyone gerudo. it's to both keep her safe from hunters looking for their next animal to mount or sell and because they don't want to go through the very long process of gaslighting/jailing anyone who saw her out in the desert.

with only monsters for companions as you go throughout a seemingly endless desert with the occasional (seldom) visitor from someone you have to watch age as you stay the same is both lonely and disheartening, especially since you're essentially trapped in said desert with no chance to interact with anyone outside of it.

i'd figure that the gerudo would take [name] (and, by association, the monsters) back to the main city for festivities and celebrations so they're able to remind her that she still has a place with them, as well as make it so she's not just in the empty desert, by herself, with only monsters for company a few days/weeks out of the year.

uhmmmm,, talking about the pining/longing from atalanta during the 100 years (it is Not my strong suit), i personally think it'd be more like "there is no way i let this manlet rizz me into being cursed," and blaming herself?

like, yeah, part of her longs to be with wild/flora again because,,,,, woah,,,, she'd never been so infatuated with someone like she has been with them, but the other part is screaming "if i get out of this i'm becoming celibate," and it's a constant battle of that until she's eventually like "i'm never getting out of this. why would i stay stuck on someone who's probably dead now," because word travels fast and it wouldn't take long for her to find out wild/flora is dead/hasn't been seen for a while.

so now she's over them. supposedly. after maybe 5-12 years because she wasn't gonna spend the rest of her (possibly endless) existence hung over someone she'd never see again.

(and it wasn't even getting over them? it was more like repressing any and all feelings by calling them mean names and recognizing their flaws-- but then overtime it's like "damn. i kinda miss the way he would frog blink at someone when they talked a little to long," or "huh. the way she side-eyed anyone who came at her wrong was kinda cute" and suddenly repressed emotions have come back tenfold)

anyways 🧍🏽‍♂️ like i said longing isn't my strongsuit so i dont think i have many thoughts on that? it's mostly centered around her transformation, possible events that happened while she was the creature, and her getting out of it?-- but i also like the idea of [name] keeping some of her creature-features when she's turned back (by either flora post-ganon battle or wild) (wild turning her back are separate thoughts), so post totk, she and [totk spoilers] [totk spoilers] [totk spoilers] and wild gets to have fun with that.

Okay so modern au somehow through some shenanigans we still see all the other links. I just love the idea that when the make it to Twi’s world they try to keep up the facade of being cousins like they did with Time’s world to which Athena and Songbird’s response is “I was born at night but I wasn’t born last night.” But she immediately starts making food to feed them + the kids and Twi is just looking on all smitten with her while they just stare at him because somehow he’s never mentioned songbird -🧚🏽‍♀️

twi could never keep a lie from songbird, but time would try to keep a lie from athena and feel his chest cave in everytime she sends him a look that says "i know what you did," (because she does, even if she didn't mean to give him that look) before caving after a few hours (shortest amount of time was def 13 seconds i just know it)
