★ Dabangg 3: “Salman bhai is the person who takes the final decision when it comes to the music of the film,” says Sajid Ali Khan!
Nov 23, 2019
Tumblr media
Sajid-Wajid worked with actor Salman Khan for his upcoming film Dabangg 3. The duo shares the music director credit for the film along with Sandeep Shirodhkar. For the film, they adopted the strategy of releasing the audio version of the song on T-Series YouTube channel before releasing the video album.
Recently, while interacting with the media during his birthday celebration, Sajid spoke about working with Salman Khan and the music of the film. He said, “Basically entire team thought about the strategy but Salman bhai is the person who takes the final decision when it comes to the music of the film. He is Masha Allah, a very talented and musical man. He has the knack to bring his own personality into music and he advises us in terms of what song will be best suited for a certain situation in the film.”
Talking about the strategy, he said that they were initially uncertain about it. “We thought that the songs could become flops or they may not garner the kind of response we are expecting, but he (Salman Khan) just smiled and said that this is what he wanted and he thought this idea will really work. We decided to release the songs his way. We always had confidence in our songs and we knew that when the audio track would come out, it would get good response. I think it’s a fantastic strategy. It’s a good thing to tease the audience with the music of Dabangg 3,” he further said.
Dabangg 3 is directed by Prabhudheva, and produced by Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan under their respective banners of Salman Khan Films and Arbaaz Khan Productions. The film also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Saiee Manjrekar and Mahesh Manjrekar in prominent roles. The film is slated to hit the theatres on December 20.

★ Prabhudheva: Even I am cool, but Salman Khan sir is cooler!
Dec 9, 2019
Tumblr media
Prabhudheva on his equation with the actor, with whom he has signed a third fi lm even before release of new Dabangg The successful duo of Salman Khan and Prabhudheva, who had earlier collaborated onWanted, which resurrected the former’s career after a dry spell, are back for the second time to carry forward one of Bollywood’s most successful franchises, Dabangg. With less than two weeks to go before the third instalment unfolds, the 46-year-old director admits he is nervous. After 25 years in showbiz? “Yeah, the only thing that has changed in all these years is that from the outside, I look composed, but inside it’s still the same,” he laughs. What changes has he noted in Salman since they first worked together? “There are changes in him as an actor; he knows everything about the film and not just story and screenplay. But personally, he is still the same,” Prabhu shares. And has the equation between them changed? “There is huge respect for each other,” he says, adding that their contrasting personalities make their combination work. Talking about Dabangg, the story and the characters come with certain preconceived notions and attitude. How did his distinctive style gel with what was on the template? “I don’t know how, but it mixed well and is visible on screen. I believe that the story and screenplay lead the director, and except for tweaking my style slightly to accommodate Chulbul Pandey’s antics, I didn’t have to adjust much,” Prabhu smiles, pointing out that the actor, who has been enacting this character for nine years now, knows him way better and also how to play him the best. There have been speculations around Sonakshi Sinha’s Rajjo, with many believing that this time around, she will be seen as a mother with a young son. On this, Prabhu is reticent, saying it is something for which audience will have to watch the film. But he confirms that Sona is playing a “young mother”. He is all praise for the film’s second leading lady, Saiee Manjrekar. “She is a new girl. So, she was curious about whatever we did. When we tied her or put glycerine in her eyes, Siaee wanted to know why we were doing so and what had happened to justify it on screen. It’s a normal reaction, and given the innocence of her face, she didn’t have to act much. Her face is her asset; plus, she is a hard worker and a born star like so many others of her generation,” he applauds, pointing out that youngsters today are so brilliant that you just need to guide them a bit and they will pave their own way. “By the second or the third film, they will be teaching us.” Dabangg is known for its chartbusters and hook steps. Prabhudheva, too, is known for his moves. How did the idea of taking the belt off, followed by the hip-swing (for “Munna Badnaam Hua”), come about? “The bulb in my head just went on,” he grins. “Salman comes up with different ideas, too. He showed me the move from “Hud Hud Dabangg” and I was like, ‘what is happening,’ because I couldn’t see anything moving... till he asked me to look down at the hips,” he guffaws. Prabhu is involved in “Munna Badnaam Hua” not just as a director and choreographer, but he also features in it. After dancing with Madhuri Dixit and Sonakshi, how was it matching steps with Salman again? “As a choreographer, I have worked with all kinds of dancers. Each of them has their own style and that’s why we like them. I enjoyed working with Salman, I didn’t face any difficulty,” he avers. Salman is known to have temper issues with directors. Recently, Inshaallah with Sanjay Leela Bhansali ground to a halt before it could take off. Meanwhile, Prabhu has worked with him in Wanted and Dabangg 3 and the duo has already kicked off a third film, Radhe. So far, it has been smooth sailing for them. What’s the secret? “It doesn’t happen with anyone,” Prabhu shrugs off the question, going on to rave about Salman’s big heart and how he can get reputed people on board his projects and at the same time help those not doing so well, hiring struggling actors for certain roles because they need work.
“I find it easy to work with sir because he listens to you when you tell him something isn’t going right and should be done differently. Even if the shoot runs late into the night, he doesn’t fuss about it. He is super cool. Even I am cool, but he is way cooler.”
He goes on to share an incident from the shoot of the Dabangg 3 climax. “It was a big and expensive set depicting a stone quarry. Sudeep (antagonist) had injured himself during a fight scene and was in pain. Everyone was worried because of the expenses, but in two seconds sir decided to cancel the shoot that day, saying the health and comfort of his team comes before anything else,” he marvels. The buzz in the industry today is that Salman likes Prabhudheva best, as he offered him Radhe while they were still working on Dabangg 3. It’s rare for him to start another film with the same director while still working on one. “His trust in me is unimaginable. I don’t need to say anything, he has proved it. Everybody knows now, and it makes me feel all the more responsible because with every step, I have to prove his trust right,” the filmmaker says earnestly. Prabhu is known to complete his films in three months and Salman is running on a tight schedule with Radhe, which he has announced as an Eid 2020 release. Could that be one of the reasons why the actor went with him? “Maybe,” Prabhu says. Radhe was being hyped as a sequel to Wanted, but later, it was clarified that the project is an official remake of the Korean film The Outlaws. However, Boney Kapoor has always said Wanted 2 will happen. Quiz Prabhu on the matter and he says, “Wanted is Salman and Boney sir’s project. Only they can decide when it will happen.” Apart from Radhe, the actorchoreographer-filmmaker has Street Dancer 3D, which is gearing up for a Republic Day 2020 release, as a cast member. Prod him on his part and he confides with an embarrassed laugh that even he doesn’t know the story. “When Remo (D’souza, director) calls next, I’ll have to ask him now,” he chuckles. The dance film features a recreation of his iconic song “Muqabala”. What was his reaction to it? “I can’t compete with (the ’90s) Prabhudheva,” he guffaws. “That is exactly what I told the makers when they asked me to perform on the new version.”

★ EXCLUSIVE! Salman Khan on completing 3 decades in the industry: This has been the best journey ever !
Samina Shaikh | Dec 17, 2019
On a Saturday evening, the ‘Dabangg’ Khan made an entry at the Mehboob Studios and there is a frozen moment for the paparazzi who are glaring at him for a candid capture! At his jovial best, Salman Khan encouraged the media to do the ‘Munna Badnaam’ hook step with him. The actor then headed towards his tent where he indulged in an exclusive conversation with us talking about ‘Dabangg 3’, working with South stars, completing 3 decades in the industry, birthday plans and much more. Here are the excerpts from the interview:
‘Dabangg 3’ is set for release, and you’ve taken an integral part in the scripting of this one, what was the thought process behind it? There was no thought process in this one. Thoughts just kept on flowing in. That is how this one was done. We brothers were sitting and chilling and we just thought that we should do ‘Dabangg’. How we should do ‘Dabangg’? We should get into New York, we should get into these places, I said no yaar. I said we should show how he became ‘Chulbul Pandey’. And that’s how it started falling in place. That’s how we started working on it. This is a very organic one for us. Very organic one! Because of the way one and two were written, it was easy for us to continue. But it also took 7 years for ‘Dabangg 3’ to release
We had already had that thing. Then I got busy into a lot of other films. So then, we got this time frame to do. So we did it in this time frame. You recently said at a promotional event that it’s not easy to work on a sequel because there are high expectations. What excited you to go for it and how did you convince Arbaaz Khan for ‘Dabangg 3’? The script. The script is always the most interesting part. If the script is interesting. you know, I'm interested. I'm interested, fans are interested. So that’s how it basically works. There were kickass dialogues in ‘Dabangg’ which became the USP of the movies. In ‘Dabangg 3’ what can one see? If something you can say, what is the USP of this one? (Laughs)We have a lot of things in this one and it is not forced. Now that Chulbul Pandey has become a caricature of himself. He's still the same guy. He's got more depth in fact. But he's the way he is. So the way he reacts to a situation, how he reacts in a serious situation, how he reacts is a comedy situation…When will he get irritated, when will he enjoy, what will be the counter dialogue? All these things are something to look for! Will we actually get to see a fan’s dialogue in the movie because you had a contest regarding it? You will see a lot of things in the film. Also these dialogues were not inspired by anywhere. They are original. Different kinds of dialogues, different kinds of scenes, which you can’t put in any other film. ‘Munni Badnaam’ was a famous song back then and it created a world record. With ‘Munna Badnaam’ can we get to see something like creating a world record? It just got released. It’s doing very well, let’s just see first. You launched Sonakshi Sinha in ‘Dabangg’ and it was an epic launch and now you have launched Saiee Manjrekar. What’s the quality is Saiee that stood out according to you? At that point of time the ‘Rajjo’ character needed Sonakshi and this time the character actually demanded Saiee Manjrekar. Saiee’s innocence, her sincerity, the way she is, the camera loves. Everything about her will stand out. When it comes to music, we have seen you humming a lot of old songs, at promotional events. In ‘Dabangg 3’, will we get to see that retro effect with the music, the kind of music you like? The kind of music ‘Dabangg’ has, you can’t hear that kind of music in any other film. Dabangg has got it’s own ‘Naina’... ‘Hud Hud’... ‘Munna Badnaam’... Dabangg has its own genre of music. So it’s very difficult to find that Dabangg kind of music in any film. So, so far we've been very happy and very lucky as well to get these kind of songs now, earlier and in the second one is well. Because it's a different kind of music. And people seem to like that but it's the same music in some other films will not work. The villain plays a crucial role in the movie and like you know in the earlier ones had Sonu Sood and Prakash Raj and now Kichcha Sudeep. What do you have to say about him and will you prefer venturing into South cinema? So this one first we are trying to release it there and let's see how this one does there because this is also their kind of film with a lot of heroism, songs, dance, emotions and family. So this is one actual film from here which fits into the South format of movies. Which their stars do. Like ‘Dabangg’ was also remade there. Very few movies…First, all our movies used to be remade there, especially my Dad’s movies. And then we started taking a lot of their remakes. In fact, I myself have done two. And ‘Dabangg’ was one which was remade there. So let’s see what happens. It will release in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu. So now let’s see how the audience there accept us like the way we have accepted ‘Bahubali’ and their actors like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan and Chiru Babua and others. What was your Dad’s feedback on ‘Dabangg 3’? Well he's liked it. He's liked it a lot. Otherwise, we had to leave our houses. Outdoors, outdoors, Outdoors... You have completed three decades in the industry starting from ‘Biwi Ho Toh Aisi’ to ‘Dabangg 3’, what do you’ve to say about it? This has been the best journey ever. What are your birthday celebration plans? So another generation will come in and we are going to spend time with them.

★ Exclusive! A ‘badass’ Salman Khan and a ‘sexy’ Warina Hussain, ‘Munna Badnaam Hua’ look from ‘Dabangg 3’ decoded!
Nov 28, 2019,
Tumblr media
While the trailer and the songs of Salman Khan starrer ‘Dabangg 3’ have already created ripples, the makers are all set to unveil the much-talked-about ‘Munna Badnaam Hua’ song from the film. The song will also be featuring the very beautiful Warina Hussain along with Salman Khan. Salman’s stylist Ashley Rebello, who has styled the cast of ‘Dabangg 3’ opened up exclusively to ETimes about the song and the looks of the actors. Excerpts from the interview: Tell us something about ‘Munna Badnaam Hua’.
The song is recreating ‘Munni Badnaam Hua’ but from Salman Khan’s (Chulbul Panday) point of view. We wanted to do something different as we had a different girl on board this time. It is Warina Hussain. ‘Munna Badnaam’ will live up to ‘Munni Badnaam’ and will go beyond that. It is one step ahead. Salman is killing it in the song. He has also done stunts in the song.
What went behind creating the look for Salman Khan in the song? With Salman, I got this designer Michael Cinco who is a Korean designer based out of Dubai. I got a stained-glass jacket from him which is stunningly exquisite. We did other jackets also which is just embroidered and had mirror works. It is a challenge to make him look different every time.
How was Prabhudheva included in the song last minute? Salman came up with the idea of including Prabhudheva in the song and the director never says no to Salman. I had to duplicate one jacket for Prabhudheva too. They are dancing together and they look simply outstanding. When Prabhudheva dances, he is like a dream. He is very sweet and simple as a person but the moment the music is on and he dances, he is electrifying. Tell us something about Warina Hussain’s look in the song? Warina has a very lovely soft image while Salman has a badass look in the film. I have kept Warina really hot and sexy. I have given her four changes – green, purple, white and red. I have kept it ghagra-choli but it is very different. The song has to look different. Warina Hussain was like a bare canvas. We have given her some deadly necklines and some deadly slits. After Farah Khan in ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’, it is Vaibhavi Merchant for ‘Munna Badnaam Hua’. I have done some great songs in the past with Vaibhavi and we have a great tuning. She has always told me that she completely trusts me. When someone trusts you, it gives you confidence and you want to do your best. She wanted different looks for the back dancers as well. They all are wearing ghagra cholis with shades and hats. It was such a different look! Directed by Prabhudheva, ‘Dabangg 3’ stars Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Saiee Manjrekar and Sudeep. It is slated to hit the theatres on December 20, 2019.
