So let’s say that Dipper never made the first move in Faking It- could they still have fallen in love?
Also father I crave whump!!! Take your time though, writing is hard :/
They would have! They were already dipping their toes into that particular water, Dipper making the first move just sped things along.
I think in an alternate scenario where Dipper didn't do the do, either: everything pans out the same with minor differences, OR: He's in a way less chipper mood when Ford arrives. Which means he's a lot more cagey with Ford, doesn't accompany his uncle when he breaks the curse. And since he didn't tell Ford where it happened, it comes out of nowhere when the thing's broken - but it's also done with less deadly intent. Which makes Bill (surprisingly, even to himself) alarmed, because, shit, Dipper just up and collapsed right next to him, did he just die? - and when Dipper survives despite the odds against him - Ford doesn't find out who Bill is, due to Dipper not wanting to hang out with him all that much.
Overall, these two idiots would be given a lot more time and space to bicker and argue and flirt for long enough that they get Domestic again, before they get freaky.

Quick heads up
In your newest chapter of holding out for a hero, you call the driver by 2 names. Jimmy, first then later james, I don't believe this was intentional so I thought I'd let you know
Thanks for looking out, Anon!! Jimmy is actually a nickname for James. I don't know why.
But Darlin would absolutely not try using nicknames for someone they barely know while Asher would absolutely try all the nicknames on a person he just met. <3 <3

In my opinion, we don't devote nearly enough scientific research to finding a cure for jerks.

Does anyone know why Ken seems to dislike Bioshock 2? B2 is like the heart of the series. The game that shows Rapture is not completely filled with jerks like Fontaine, who doesn't seem able to care about anyone but themselves.

Hiya! I'm a bit of a newbie to writing billdip and I struggle the most with dialogue and generally Bills character. I really admire your writing and was wondering if you have any pieces of advice for writing Bill.
I am highly unqualified to give advice on this subject! But here's a few things that come to mind when I think of how I write Bill!
Bill kinda has three main settings: Disinterested, Excited, and Angry. Think of them like levels on a sound mixer, while also being very Impulsive and having an Easily Shifting Mood.
Bored but willing to keep up a conversation because it *could* get interesting. Engaged in the talk he's having, but annoyed enough to insult the person he's talking to at any chance. Furious and excited enough to start making really creative threats!
Dialogue-wise, he's either dismissive, upbeat, or pissed off. He loves mocking people, displaying his superiority, and implication and wordplay. If there's a way to slide in a jab he'll often take it! Puns are not off the table, especially if they'll get a disgusted look or groan. And if he's making a metaphor or comparison he'll often reach for something obscure or downright bizarre.
He's also very manipulative, and convincing. He's got charm to him and can use it - but he also tends to throw in double-talk while he's doing it. (think the 'All I want is a puppet!' scene from the show)
Another point: Talking directly about himself (unless it's to brag) is basically Not A Thing. He might drop hints, but you need a heavy-duty crowbar to drag out anything even slightly beyond surface level.
And that guy's never going to admit when he's having a negative emotion that isn't anger! The best you can manage - if you know him well - is to realize when he's projecting like a motherfucker.
I have also violated all of these vague rules multiple times and will again! So take my suggestions with several grains of salt.

Started thinking about that chapter idea I had for Triangulum, where the Henchmaniacs are all hiding out in town after the Nightmare Realm kinda...you know...imploded after the events of Weirdmageddon (I know it was still there in Don't Dimension It! but shh), and Ford expects them to be just another thing to add to the pile of stress that's already accumulated with Bill's return-
-but then it turns out they're all totally chill with Ford because Bill fucking sucked and was actually the worst to them, so now Ford is their new bestie because he helped play a part in killing them. Naturally Ford is trying to inch his way to the nearest exit without drawing attention to himself, but THEN they all start going into their own stories of how they met Bill and some backstory stuff-
-and Ford literally moves back to the group quick as a flash, suddenly a LOT more interested in what they're talking about.
