forgot to mention it before but hi I finally started reading Dungeon Meshi like a week ago and now I decided to color in one of my favorite pages so far

I really wanted to do something to give it some appreciation #the wings were quite fun to shade #took a while for Dunmeshi to really grow on me- I actually started reading it months ago but forgot to continue reading. As I usually do #I think it was somewhere around the point where falin gets resurrected that it really clicked for me #I'm like at chapter 77 now btw #it was very difficult to put the manga down last time I was reading it but I really want to spread out my reading experience #so I actually like. Remember what happens in the story. Instead of binging it and immediately forgetting everything

ok i’m not caught up 100% (i’ve only finished up to the shapeshifter episode. which is more caught up than i was) so i havent really met izutsumi yet and cant pass judgement on her

however. ok. so far my thoughts are *points at laios and chilchuck* THEY’RE JUST LIKE ME FR !!!!

laios and i have like the exact same brand of . neurodivergent swag ? i will give out fun facts about fucked up things i like whether you want me to or not. and i will DEFINITELY think about the logistics of something before the emotional impact (laios commenting on chimera!falin having so many varied features before really ever expressing anything about it being. falin. yknow. his sister. that the whole story has been about basically.)

and chilchuck. chilchuck has the same hater mindset as me. we are both professional haters that know our worth (or at least. treat ourselves as if we do?) and feel like exploding before being sincere with our emotions ever. that awesome orc girl called him out in that one episode and i was like.. ah… my tv has turned into a mirror suddenly…

senshi and marcille are also excellent characters ofc. i love that marcille’s able to do fucked up illegal magic more characters like her should do fucked up illegal magic. and senshi is just peak character design imo… and he’s just a comfort. he’s so calming. he’s so weird. little guy :D . if we’re being stupid (/pos) about it senshi’s a comfort character and chilchuck and laios are on the kin list. womp womp.

falin’s an interesting one because she’s so similar to laios but she’s never really there to show it? and the characters interpret her differently. honestly she needs to be around more to make a decision about her character. i am not immune to chimera falin, in a ‘she’s so cool…’ creature way. i like that she’s a magic user and i like that she’s damn good at it.

the entire cast is weird in a different direction and it’s awesome. peak fiction. i really need to catch up
