Metalder episode 11 is an absolute triumph of what the show is going for; the villains' underworld and its social dynamics are in full focus, the hero is a scarcely-glimpsed cryptid striking them down, and characters new and old are marshalled around the central one in focus, their differing backgrounds and perspectives informing how far they're willing to go out of their respect for him versus their obligation to the system they all live under.
It's a really interesting piece on just what calling someone a loaded term like a "war hero" is, and the foolishness of lauding such a thing.
It's a wonderful piece of television...
...and also, for some reason, they called him Big Wayne.
Just to remind you that you are still watching tokusatsu.
Today we remember and honour Big Wayne, a true hero.
