Character Sheet - Joon & Miranda
I’ve been busy drawing character sheets for DHD (so many still missing....!)
Rest of the sheets can be found either from my blog tagged as #DHD_character_sheets or from @dhdfaq
JOON
Joon is one of the youngest Death-Heads in East Faction
He uses honorifics based on South Finnish dialect like broidi (brother)
He’s got an older sister and a niece called Viv. He babysits Viv at times.
Joon is on some kind of a medication but I don’t know yet what it is.
He is a heavy smoker.
After each successful gig Joon cuts a scar on his left arm, because he wants to keep his work closest to his heart.
On his right arm, Joon makes a cut whenever he beds a new woman.
His relationship with Miranda is open. They are dedicated for each other but can come and go with others if wished.
After a work well done, he visits the strip club where Miranda works. He’s well known there and always wants to get to know all new employees.
Joon is a big supporter for women’s rights (most likely due Miranda’s influence and education)
As Miranda is considered Joon’s family member, he can’t take Miranda as his client.
MIRANDA
Miranda has promised to Joon that she would never make a deal with a Death-Head but if she must, she should go to Alrick and only to Alrick.
Miranda is an equal bread winner in their shared household with Joon. She likes her job and has considered adult industry work, too.
Miranda does not wear any jewellery nor she has any piercings.
Her mother is a hairdresser and own her own salon.
Miranda uses in her speech pattern different quirks, which are marked with emojis and other special marks like ~ * etc.
Miranda lives with Joon and often paints his mask when it needs to be redone.
Miranda is a bit older than Joon.

I loves prim!!!
I'm imagening more Death Heads romances!
I crave cuddles with our bunny boy.
But I also think of scenarios for others, like: OH No! Death head fell in love with the mark!
Or head death head decides get a convinience marriage with another head death head of other area. Both doing it for their own Mission that the other doesn't know. A la SpyXFamily!
A death-head falling for the mark would be so deliciously tragic. Perhaps I draw something like that some day...
DH marriages overall is a theme I like to know more about, too :3
In Joon and Miranda case, both are more or less unorthodox people so for Miranda, having a Death-Head boyfriend is not an issue. She could easily marry Joon (but I think they're not going to get married as it doesn't suit them).
In Cat and Hagon case, they are high school sweethearts, so Cat went for the Death-Head work later in life (idk why she chose that career exactly, perhaps she tells me in the future :3). Hagon is a supportive husband and stuck with Cat.
In Grimm and Pearl case, both work for the Death-Head Organization, so in that sense, the relationship isn't off balance. If there's something off to the outsiders, then it's Pearl being married to a faction leader (who is close to Kahamet, too) and that being an issue for outsiders (still wondering how her family took this all).

The new dhd chapter was really heartwarming. I love that loulou changed her mind how happy alrick was about that.
My question is, what kind of animal is Miranda? I can't figure it out.
Miranda is a cat hybrid, kind of like how cat women look in the comic Blacksad:

what owl house tracks/covens do you think would the dhd characters be in?
For now, I think it would probably go like this, excluding the emperor's one as pretty much all DHs can be counted into one for working for the DH organization, and the detention track.
Alrick - Healing
Rena - Beast Keeping
Cat - Potions
Joon - Illusion
Dio - Construction
Lou-Lou - Bard
Miranda - Potions
Felina - Plant (naturally!)
Hagon - Bard
Kahamet - Oracle

Hey Niu! Did Miranda take the job at the porn production? I am assuming that she didnt, taken what one of her potential coworkers did to Alrick, but I'm not sure. You don't have to answer if its a spoiler to one of the future updates. I really love your writing and art style, the vibes are immaculate!
Miranda's case is still open, as Alrick couldn't finish the case yet due his injury. We'll hear Miranda's decision later after Alrick has completed his job.

Miranda seems like a great friend btw- idk she's just got the best energy.
Like big sister energy, looks after you but also is Bolder -
I appreciate that about how you write her , she's both wild but still comes off as more caring and delicate than some people write more loose characters
Miranda has a good head on her shoulders. I don't want to reduce her to just some crazy stripper that's a woo-woo from her head (unless she herself would want that but so far nope). Miranda a complete person even when her life choices are unorthodox ones.

Can I just say that I love, LOVE, Miranda's character! Iean, she was pretty awesome in the strip club case, oozing female lead energy. But now that we get to know her a bit more I just- SHE'S SUCH A POWERHOUSE! A MITOCHONDRIA 💖 SHE CAN KICK ME IN THE FACE AND SMILE 😊
And Vanilla is such a great character so far. The first glimpse we get of her through photo sessions and the poster give us that vibe of innocent and sweet. But then she can shift to 180° and ITS ABOUT TO GO DOWN, BABY! I'm sorry she tried to shot Alrick but I gotta admit she's pretty badass. Pretty lady with guns are so~ *chef kiss* And no more bullets? *pulls out a GIANT KNIFE* "Say hello to my little friend~ YOU'RE GOING TO DIE HERE WITH ME, ALRICK!" AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH~
I JUST CANT STOP ADMIRING SUCH POWERFUL LADIES AHHHHHHHHHHHH *dies*
Thank you! Working with Miranda is very fun. I'm happy she's decided to stay and wasn't just visiting as a side character in one comic. Did you notice how her speech patterns often end with some extra marks like hearts or stars? :3
Vanilla really surprised me but it's good. I wasn't sure how the comic ends until she showed her true, hidden colors. I know I have to address the events of the 9th comic in the next update in some way but I don't know yet how or when. So far I've updated once a month but I don't have any planned schedules.
I think I should actually concentrate more on Japanese studies and maybe some writing for a while... n_n;

Just read your newest DHD comic! I'm very glad to see Lou Lou making an effort to understand Alrick's life, even if it scares her a bit,and I'm also glad to see that Alrick doesn't push her to engage in his deaths head business I'd she doesn't want to. They really do seem to have a good friendship, and I love how she was made so welcome by the other death heads at the ball.
Also I'm so happy to see Miranda again!! Something about her just gets my knees weak I can't lie..... And Rena is always a character to have fun with too.
I'm very curious to learn more about the government of the deaths heads. I'm curious why the mask less guy was so scary, is it because he can get away with doing his deals without making it obvious he's a death head? So he has the legal protect of being a death head, but none of the social stigma or visibility of the mask. I definitely feel like there's more to the story here with these mask less guys
Lou-Lou needs just a little time to sit with her emotions and feelings to sort them out. I don't know how much her past experiences have affected her but perhaps someday we get to see that, too. I think Alrick plays a role in her healing process as a good, solid friend.
Miranda will pop out more in the future, I'm certain of it :3 I also think she's slightly older than Joon, though that doesn't affect her personality, work or their relationship.
I hope the HQ and the whole Death-Head without a mask-business gets covered more. I don't know yet why Alrick thinks it's more dangerous (and does he mean ALL HQ mask-less DHs or just Kahamet), and why Kahamet thinks the chance to get rid of the Death-Head work mask is a good bribe to Alrick or anyone else working as a Death-Head.
Hmmm, maybe Joon knows something...? He's very chatty and probably more or less nosy in his own way, so he might have something.

Aside from the character you recently introduced, have any of your other characters used cards/stones/charms? Would reading them differ a lot in the Death Head world? Instead of 'Change' would the Death card actually mean 'Chance or Risk'?
I don't think that anyone else from the current characters uses divination tools but Pearl. However, I can see Miranda being possibility for tarot but I don't know if she's really that interested in them. I think that if Miranda was to read the cards, for her it would be more like a hobby whereas Pearl seems to follow some kind of a spiritual life style.
Divination in DHD would work the exact same way is in ours. I don't think we'll see that much, maybe a bit with Pearl if there's a chance for it in the story.

Seleene drew an adorable Alrick with a Christmas sweater to our DHD Discord. It inspired me to draw the peeps with Christmas sweaters, too. Perhaps more to come?
(Sweater designs not mine, I just searched for ugly sweaters lol)
Second part (Algoth, Grimm, Pearl)

Do any of the DHD characters believe in ghosts?
Actually I don't know for sure (yet) anyone else but Pearl (because of her spiritual faith), but I'd imagine Lou-Lou would. But not as "oh, interesting" but like "NOPE NOPE NOPE!!"
Joon would probably be there with Miranda finding ghosts and weird stuff interesting. Perhaps they watch paranormal videos and documentaries together like my sis and I do when we're at the same place at the same time :D

Do you happen to be cool w/ ppl coloring in your webcomic pages? I have no intention of passing them off of my own, and if I ever put them anywhere it would be individual panels with full credit to you and your comic.
Yes, go ahead with the credits! :3 I don't have any official colors for anyone but Alrick, Joon, Miranda and partially Lou-Lou (still figuring out the right tones from her colors), so you have to come up the rest for yourself for now. I will color Grimm and Pearl next, and the rest of the folk eventually.
I toss you here the colored images I do have at this moment. Use them or color however you like :3
I also want to remind that we've got Death-Head Fan Club Discord where people would most likely be excited to see colored images and discuss about characters' color palettes.

In the latest DHD you used what look to be photographs in stark black and white as backdrops for scene dressing. I think that is an amazing stylized choice!
Thank you! I've been doing that since the first comic, as it's easy, fast and a simple way to show environment as "OK, there aren't going to be any backgrounds but this is where we are". If needed, I draw and edit the photos also manually, like for example hiding register plates, logos and company names.
Like in this newest comic, Alrick, Miranda and Joon are eating inside. Then, Joon leaves. I put him on a balcony and showed the environment with a photo, so the reader knows he's not inside the house anymore and won't hear Miranda speaking with Alrick.
Here's my tutorial on how to use stock free photos for backgrounds.
