I find it funny that Godzilla Vs Kong is regarded as one of the goofiest movies of the monsterverse or is seen (by people who know nothing about Godzilla) as "an insult to the tragic origins of the character" when this is the Monsterverse entry where Godzilla is (so far) at his meanest
Like this is a movie where Godzilla is actively killing humans, he attacks Pensacola and Hong Kong, he slaughters the US navy, not mention that he's actively hunting down Kong to kill or beat him into submission on the grounds that Kong might be a challenger to Godzilla
Yes I know Godzilla was attacking those cities to get to Apex who were building Mechagodzilla/resurrecting Ghidorah, he wasn't attacking because evil, but he still gave no shits about how many people he killed, that doesn't seem like a goofy heroic character to me, seems right in line with some of Godzilla's darker more "evil" (he's rarely ever actually evil) incarnations, to say nothing of what he does to Kong
Compare that with the previous films where Godzilla generally ignores humans or just plain doesn't seem to notice them
