Exactly as I thought when we were travelling, the nights are not completely dark anymore now since we returned. Even at the darkest time between midnight and 1 in the morning there is a faint shimmer of light at the horizon, but thankfully the stars are still visible. Once I woke up at night at around 2 in the morning and saw some northern light faintly lighting up the sky, but most likely they were the last ones for me to see this season. Meanwhile during the days Tord, I and the cats are excitedly running around the garden and admiring every other centimeter of ground, soil, flower beds and Berry bushes emerging from the snow. Today, Tord and I took a tour to the nearest town to get some raised beds for the greenhouse and a laundry line to hang between the birches and hang our clothes to dry. While we were at it we also bought some more racks to hang curtains in front of the loft to shield it from daylight when someone is sleeping there as well as new madresses to lie on. I love constructing things for our home and mixing and matching colors and forms to create a beautiful home for Tord and myself! Never would I ever have thought that I would build a loft and I have so many more ideas for future projects, mostly in the garden. I can't wait to see what everything will look like a few months from now and am excitedly getting started in the garden by tapping birchsap, building greenhouses and buying soil, manure and barkdust.
