HEAD EMPTY, ONLY SILLY DEMENTED DEER MAN.
The last two episodes really got me over here pondering and shit. Didn't think my 2019 Alastor phase would make a comeback, but here we fuckin' are. Seriously though, what is his deal? I love that you can't quite make sense of him, but also I NEED to make sense of him.
SPOILERS AHOY.
Clearly he's somewhat emotionally invested in all this, that little (cute as fuck) scene with nifty the night before the battle showed us a sentimental softness in him, but he's also definitely cozying up to Charlie to use her powers for something big.
Something like breaking a deal he'd made, and I've got money on Lilith. That bad bitch seaside moment was too iconic, she's pulling strings and catching rays, living her best life.
But I need DETAILS, man. I wanna know what the stipulations of the contract are, I wanna know why it was made, what was gained and what was lost, if this deal gave him the power he wields in the first place. What does Alastor need to do to fulfill his end of the deal? I want the nitty gritty of it, man.
Speaking of deals, Alastor and Charlie??? I know we're probably meant to sweep it under the rug, Alastor says not to worry about it, it's not for Charlie's soul, the whole scene was just brushed aside...but what about the desperation he fucking reeked of?? He was beyond eager to make that deal.
Alastor held onto that information for months, waited for the perfect moment, when Charlie was backed into a corner and desperate, and he used that groundbreaking leverage for a favor. That could be anything! Like breaking a deal only someone with her power could, or, since he clearly likes playing the long game, it could be something far less definitive, easier for Charlie to get behind. Something like helping him make his next move.
(Then the next, and the next, and the manipulation continues--ideally, I'm sure. Narrative folly and character development will almost definitely nip that evil scheme in the bud.)
You gotta love that classic Alastor guile when he tells her it's not for her soul. What it really is is a foot in the door for him, and a show of good faith for Charlie. It's a chess move, and if Alastor is as conniving and methodical as I hope he is, it's the equivalence of moving a pawn.
But then he backs up that dubious display of altruism by introducing Charlie to Rosie and the cannibals. Would Alastor really implicate a close friend and her community for something he wasn't truly invested in? That's a genuine question at this point. It's pretty much confirmed in the song that Alastor is choosing to help Charlie, that he sees the potential in her, but again, for his own benefit.
Which brings us to the radio tower, post fight. The vibes I picked up were immaculate. He's incredulous, desperate, shaken and very clearly trapped in circumstances that drive him absolutely insane.
Alastor's all about control. I think back on his spiel to Charlie about maintaining that control with a smile, but even now, when Alastor is cracking under the realization that he doesn't have that, he continues to smile.
I'm really under the impression that Alastor literally cannot stop smiling. (I'm not counting the single-frame-debacle.) It's either that, or he's forcing himself to smile, desperately vying for some semblance of control in a moment where he well and truly has none.
Then there's the line, "Great Alastor Altruist died for his friends". It feels sardonic. Bitter, like he regrets putting himself in that position, but was it really a choice to begin with? Because he let himself get too involved, too comfortable, and realized that that sentimentality he'd developed has become a weakness?
I think he really was forced to protect Charlie and the hotel (it would explain the seven year coincidence, and Alastor appearing at Charlie's doorstep so serendipitously). This is almost cemented by the following line, "I'm hungry for freedom like never before, the constraints of my deal, surely you have a back door."
He almost died (again), for the sake of Charlie and her hotel. That's a helluva fucking thing for a being who's toppled overlords and held power like he has. No amount of entertainment is worth his own life, there's just no way he willingly pits himself against Adam for anyone's sake.
Assuming that the source of his power is also the source of his subjugation, and considering how Alastor openly strives for control--yeah, he's having a bit of a moment™.
I do hope that there's some genuine conflict in him in regards to his relationship with Charlie and the gang. That everything he's doing isn't inherently selfish anymore, but he veils that 'weakness' under his perpetual guise of deviant mirth. Bonus points if he's tormented by the good Charlie brings out in him. He deserves the angst, the fuzzy-fucker (/affectionate).
Couple of side notes here:
Thoughts on the way Alastor's mouth is sewn up when he strikes the deal with Charlie? Was he made to smile all the time, is it just a design choice? Personally, I'm hoping there's some angsty lore there, like maybe it's part of his contract as some twisted joke, idk.
I have a love/hate relationship with the Alastor vs Adam smackdown extravaganza. Yes, it was rad as fuck. Yes, of course Alastor was going to lose. But the way it was handled felt like a bit of a disservice, Alastor's reaction felt ooc. But then again that could just be me projecting my perspective of Alastor unto the character.
ALSO, having a character who is well known for not swearing dropping some casual, outta pocket f-bombs was a bit trite. it's supposed to feel like a reward, y'know?
ANWAYS. Yeah. Good shit. I'm losing my goddamn mind.

Hazbin Hotel Episode 7&8 Spoilers:
Ok, ok. I’ve finally calmed down a bit. I have. SO many thoughts on Alastor, that I’m just not gonna touch on them in this post, aside from I FUCKING KNEW HE WAS LOSING IT FBSKDNFBSHHDHFBS.
But what I wanna focus on is Rosie! And how she’s been described as the nicest overlord. And how Cannibal Town is like, the nicest place we’ve seen in hell??? The streets are relatively clean, no one is trynna kill each other. There’s so many people out on the streets, just? Going about their days? Aside from the fact that they’re all cannibals, it’s almost like any other town you’d visit! (I am not familiar enough with the fashion styles over the years to like, accurately date what time period Cannibal Town is supposed to reflect, but it feels old (and somewhere Alastor would fit right in with) lol).
And then we actually meet with Rosie, and she’s in the middle of consulting one of her people, where there’s a HUGE line up of others looking like they’re waiting to consult with her too! And like, even before she spoke with Charlie about her love life, she’s giving advice and comfort and support and connecting to the lady she’s speaking with who apparently wants to eat her husband. Before saying that she’ll set the man straight if the lady sends him to her, and gives her a card if she ever needs any more help.
Like. First minute into seeing Rosie and like. WOW. You can IMMEDIATELY tell that this is the reason why everyone in Cannibal Town’s so chill and happy? Why there’s such a sense of order and security in a place that’s basically just anarchy?
Rosie is both the Overlord, the unofficial mayor, the therapist and consultant and your best friend all wrapped up into one. She’s got an entire lineup of people who are waiting to tell her their woes and listen to her advice. And she’s happy to help!
Even the actual cannibalism is like, so posh and proper? Or it’s treated in Cannibal Town as like, normal food. But also it’s very telling that no one’s killing each other for said cannibalism. In fact, the only times we’ve seen them do so is after an extermination, when there’s a bunch of dead bodies that aren’t reviving lying around. (And they seem to lose their manners when eating then) It is likely tho that they just, target outsiders, since everyone we saw aside from Alastor and Charlie were a part of Cannibal Town.
Just the Juxtaposition of a town literally full of Cannibals being probably THE nicest place in hell for sinners to live in??? Immaculate.
Also, Rosie’s snide comment on how Alastor’s got no manners when it comes to being offered food LOL. And, I just LOVE their relationship and interaction. First time chatting in years and she’s already offering up place with a deal for Alastor to go make. That AMAZING little joke about him being Ace and having it COMPLETELY flying over his head. Alastor letting her touch him, and how genuinely excited and happy the two of them are just talking and interacting. Their little duet in the middle of the song, the way Rosie pulls Alastor out of his scheming to just enjoy the moment. Their dance!!! She’s never been wronged by Alastor before!!! She trusts him to follow through on his side of the unofficial bargain/favor. Looking like proud parents when Charlie finds the courage to sing her pitch. I love, everything about these two, oh my god.
Anyways!!! Back to Rosie being just, a genuinely good aunt? And giving so much good advice for Charlie. Asking her the questions that needed to be asked. Rosie has, such good insight? On what the issue was, and why Vaggie would’ve kept something from her. She didn’t shy away from how big the secret was, but she also didn’t let Charlie spiral into questioning every little part of their relationship. And that little end but when she’s saying that Vaggie is flawed, but so is everyone else down in hell. GAWD. How it’s difficult to admit your regrets. Like, if that isn’t the core of the show, the core of Charlie’s dream, then I don’t know what is. Rosie cut through to the heart of the matter, she didn’t tell Charlie what she should feel or how she should act, but asked her what she’s actually feeling, and why, and told her to trust herself and her own judgement on if Vaggie’s actions were sincere or not. Man she’s such a good therapist.
(I’m half convinced Alastor didn’t just bring Charlie to Cannibal Town and see Rosie just because they needed support and numbers to fight against the exorcists, but also because she’s the best person he knows who can give out good relationship advice and he’s getting a little tired of Charlie venting at him. Especially now that she’s past the self loathing phase and has stepped into the unrestrained anger and frustration at someone else phase)
Also, unrelated topic but here’s a thought: only angel steel/holy weapons/powers can do permanent damage to someone’s body/soul. Vaggie’s eye is torn out by Lute’s exorcist blade, but her wings were just ripped off by hand. Vaggie’s eye never regenerated or recovered, but she was able to regrow her wings. Alastor was struck by Adam’s holy weapon across his chest. What if the injury never fully recovers?
And also, Alastor’s talk about “unclipping” his wings. My friend, once a bird’s wings are clipped they can’t be unclipped! You have to wait for the feathers to shed and grow in new ones. To regenerate. Also what is this talk about you having wings??? Don’t tell me you’re ALSO a secret angel??? Probably not cause your blood is red BUT. Where are you hiding those supposed clipped wings of yours eh?!

Alastor's Villain Era ...
Tumblr media
EDIT: It has been confirmed on Alastor's official Hazbin Hotel Wiki page that he was, indeed, having a panic attack.
Fireball seemed fitting.
*Long sip, sip*
Okay, I have had some time to calm down and think about things. I rewatched it all and thought long and hard.
*Sip, sip*
What the heck was going on with Alastor in the finale? Well, I think it is tremendously complicated.
To be honest, I know the popular theory is that via his deal he HAS to be at the hotel probably to defend it. While I want to agree with this theory, I can't put my full faith in it. It is a good theory, a great one, one that I held onto for most of season one. Now I'm not saying I'm dismissing it, rather, I am having doubts.
Because he left after he was hit. And who in their right mind would send Alastor, a deal-making demon, to where Charlie is?
But for the sake of this post, I'm going with the popular theory that he is there because of the deal he made.
*Sip, sip*
But let's look at episode 7 and episode 8 as sort of a package. Viv is the most detailed animator I have ever seen. She puts the smallest details in everything; from the news crawls to Vox's blue screen, Alastor's coffee mug, Adam eating ribs, the pictures in the background of everyone's rooms, like there are so many things that give you more information than what the characters could give you themselves. Nothing is in there just to be there; it is all connected.
*Sip, sip*
Alastor's microphone is an extension of himself and that is made exceptionally clear in episode 8.
In episode 7, he gives Charlie his microphone.
He's slipping. And by that "fuck" moment in episode 8, he knows he is slipping.
I am of the mind that Alastor made that deal with Charlie for future plans regarding breaking his contract. He didn't ask for her soul (not entirely sure, but I have some theories as to why), and then took her to see Rosie.
Rosie, who he considers to be one of his only few friends. And while Charlie, who is going through a rough spot that Alastor is completely aware of, is trying to speak to the crowd, Alastor offers her his microphone---an extension of himself. He gives her a small thumbs up (such a dad move), and builds her up throughout the number.
And when he is alone with Rosie, watching Charlie sing about her stepping up to be the Princess of Hell, this is what they tell each other:
Rosie: They're marching along. They're singing her song!
Alastor: Surprised? Why, I knew she could do it all along!
Both: She's bound to pass the test as Princess of Hell! Like her daddy, she is madly powerful!
Alastor: She's filled with potential that I could guide.
Rosie: I concur!
Both: Stick with her and you'll be on the winning side!
Now let's look at episode 8 and what he says to Niffty, his other close friend:
Alastor: It's been a surprising thrill to witness these wayward souls find connection. It almost makes one sentimental, ay, Niffty?
Niffty: I really like them, Alastor. They let me put on roach puppet shows without booing.
Alastor: Ah, an enjoyable collective to be around. I admit, one could become accustomed.
It should be noted, that he is looking at them from above with his face in his hands, leaning on the rail of a balcony, as if he doesn't feel like he belongs among them ... but almost wants to be.
*Sip, sip*
While I think his verse with Rosie is more about being on Charlie's side for power, he didn't need to give her his microphone. And he was alone with Niffty, he didn't have to put on a front or say anything like that but he did.
*Sip, sip*
It is obvious that they talked battle strategy prior to the fight. Charlie, without question, is the strongest person in the hotel. Even Alastor knows this as he also knows Charlie does not know how to use her powers in such circumstances. So it is decided that he, the second strongest who knows how to use his powers in a battle-way, would go onto the roof of the hotel. It is decided that Alastor will cast the forcefield.
But more than that. After the "fuck" moment, when Charlie sees Adam return to the main melee, she says, "But Alastor was supposed to ..."
Meaning they agreed that Alastor was going to SOLO fight ADAM! That was the arrangement. And Alastor seemed all too happy to agree to it. But this is how he handles beings he knows have superior powers to him.
With Lucifer, he finds something he knows will get under Lucifer's skin.
With Adam, he openly mocks him and for a while, he may think that Adam is too sloppy to really do any damage.
*Sip, sip*
And then ... "ffffffuuck."
And he nearly dies. That wound is not small. Alastor is cut. Bad. And in that moment, when he is on the ground, looking around, manic eyes, that is pure prey behavior. That is pure terror.
Alastor is terrified. Because he got hit. Bad. And he is on the threshold of death.
In the stream before the premier, Amir refused to answer the question of what scares Alastor, saying it would be too much of a spoiler and Viv agreed with him.
Alastor is terrified of dying. He retreats to heal up; granted, after a blow like that, I am not sure he would have been any help should he have lingered. Was it cowardly? Yes. Did it make sense? Absolutely. He is terrified and too badly wounded to push on after that.
*Sip, sip*
And then we hear his verse in the song. And these lyrics, coupled with Amir's fantastic ability to convey so much emotion into Alastor's voice (who needs it the most on account of his permanent grin), and the eyes, the hand placements, his body language, even his smile is off.
Alastor is having a mental breakdown. He is having the mother of all panic attacks. He is on the brink of foaming at the mouth in madness.
Because he knows he is slipping, and this deal is going to get him killed.
He defended that hotel (probably because he was forced to) but also in part because he cares to some extent for the hazbins. At least, he is rather fond of them, as we see when he speaks to Niffty.
And the thought that he is slipping, starting to have emotions, is forced to be there (possibly), and cannot access all of his powers (as is implied in the lyrics of his verse) because of the deal he made, he cannot fathom it. He cannot accept it. It is mentally destroying him.
I got hurt. I got hurt bad. I almost died. I barely escaped. All because of this damn hotel and my damn deal!
The visuals of that scene, from the background and the accompanying music---which is much darker for Alastor's than any of the other character's verses---compounded spectacularly by Alastor's movements show us that he is slipping into madness. He is becoming desperate to be free of his deal, he wants not power per se but security. If enough people are afraid of him, if he has enough power and influence (which is where I think Charlie comes in) then others won't try to hurt him.
*sip, sip*
Alastor's verse starts off somber, him reflecting on the fact that he almost got killed. And then it is shifts into his own mocking.
I do not think he sings, "Great Alastor, altruist, died for his friends," seriously. He says it like it is a headline in a newspaper. And his expression! His eyes are wide and wild, his smile large and somber, his brows are furrowed, he's dragging a hand down his face. He is distraught at the thought of this. Me? Dying for them? No! Not going to happen! I won't let that happen!
And he immediately corrects us and himself for thinking that that is the case. "Sorry to disappoint [us, those watching]. That is not where this ends!" Here, he is angry. He slams his fist into the control panel, draws his claws through it, and emphasizes that not. He is telling us as much as himself that he will not die for such a noble reason. And he is certainly not done in Hell yet, as obvious by his very next line.
"I'm hungry for freedom like never before." His hands are around him---around where he got cut---before spreading outwards. His eyes, the whole time, are on his hands. This deal is suppressing his powers. And this deal probably put him into the hotel. He is looking at his hands as if willing his freedom and his power to come back to him, because if he had them, he wouldn't have nearly gotten killed.
*Sip, sip*
Now is where we truly start to see him slipping into madness.
This deal, this oppression of my powers, and the people I have met because of those two things nearly got me killed! No way in Hell can I accept that.
Alastor is now more desperate than ever.
"The constraints of my deal surely have a back door."
The animators zoom in on his face. His eyes are going all over the place, his hands are approximately covering his ears, his smile is more clenched teeth than anything. It is the purest expression of a panic attack I have ever seen (and as someone who has suffered from panic attacks so severe I had to be hospitalized on numerous occasions), it is spot on. Everything just seems so loud when you are in that bout of excessive worry. You look all over the place for possible dangers, it is difficult to stand up straight (Alastor has been slouching this entire scene when he usually has perfect posture) and you hunt for an answer with such eagerness that your mind runs a million miles a minute trying to find one while also sifting through every possibility of what could go wrong. That is Alastor's expression at that moment. I have seen myself having attacks. It looks exactly like that.
"Once I figure out how to unclip my wings ..."
You don't even see his face anymore. It's a back shot and he's walking toward an ominous green light, the color of his power when it is manifesting. And he is still slouched slightly, still unsteady.
*Sip, sip*
Now here is the tumble.
"Guess [his "ears" are down in airplane mode, guess who is tormenting me right now] who will [now his ears go up and he fully turns around to face us, but I won't be leashed to them for long] be pulling all the strings!"
This is when we see his face again, back to its more calm appearance. That is him telling himself that he will never be put in such a situation again. He is going to be the one moving the pieces, not the other way around. And he slowly comes out of that slouching position as this line progresses. And he lifts his arms up while emerging from the green light is his shadow---his powers---rising with his voice, his body, his eyes too.
*sip, sip*
And what seals it for me is that laugh. That is not the laugh we have heard from Alastor all season. Alastor starts with like a giggle in his throat that bubbles up into something louder and more sadistic. The laugh that we hear at the end of episode 2 is very similar to the one in episode 5 just before he goes on his rampage.
This laugh is manic. It doesn't start as a low giggle in the throat. It is in full volume from the get-go. The only way I can describe it is sort of like a Joker laugh. He is gone.
*Sip, sip*
It is a treat, a true treasure, to see an evil character again. Every time Alastor is on the screen, you really don't know what he is going to do next. Even though he said he is at the hotel to see people fail, I call BS as I think most people do. Sure, that may be just a perk to him, but that is not the main reason. At the end of season 1, we still do not know for sure what Alastor's motivation is. We still don't know beyond getting himself free what is his goal.
That is why he is so incredible to watch. He can go anywhere, he could do anything, and it will surprise us.
I don't think he is leashed to Lilith but there is certainly something there. As for being gone for 7 years, I have a few theories. Lilith apparently made a deal with Adam or Lute or someone, as when Lute tells her that Adam is dead she mentions that their deal is off now. I want to think more on my theories before I post them but the main one is, for whatever reason, I think Alastor was in purgatory for 7 years.
"How to unclip my wings." That's a very interesting choice of lyric and if there is one thing we know for sure about this show, every lyrical line is chosen very carefully.
*Sip, sip*
Well, I think this post is long enough. I see Alastor soon going into a manic rampage. What I wanted most since the trailer for season 1 dropped (based on some of the scenes that were in it) was for Adam and Alastor to fight on the roof of the hotel. And man, even though Alastor lost, I still loved it! It showed us so much about Alastor's character and why he thought he could handle Adam alone. Going into season 2, I want to see Alastor unleashed. Fully unhinged, manic out of his mind, unleashed.
And please, let me know what you guys think! I love reading your comments. It helps me develop new theories too.
As the King Roach himself said in the Pilot:
Stay tuned!
*Sip, sip*

Here's something cute for you, don't mind me I just had this scene in my head and wanted to share it =3
It was quiet in the new hotel, everyone had returned to their new rooms after a long day. Charlie kicked off her shoes to release her red hooves, sitting down on a chair as she rubs her ankle. "I don't know how she does it managing this place. I can't feel my hooves from all the work I had to do." The princess sighed removing her red jacket and setting it on the chair she was sitting on.
Charlie smiled a little at the photo of her and Vaggie on the nightstand. "Vaggie said she needed the day off but wouldn't say why..." The blonde leaned back thinking of her beautiful angel girlfriend. Though those thoughts were interrupted when Razzle wandered over holding a box. "Whatcha got there?" Charlie blinked tilting her head as she noticed a small note ontop of it.
"Baaap!" Razzle gleefully handed his mistress the box letting her read the note before scurrying off again.
"I saw this and figured you'd look really nice in it, so wear it for me and come to the new courtyard. Love Vaggie." Charlie read the note aloud and blushed. Her excitement grew when she undid the ribbon on the box and looked inside. "Oh wow!"
Inside was a rather nice maroon colored suit, with black cuffs and matching slacks as well. Charlie smiled softly, seeing the beautiful little pin on top of the garment. It was an apple with grey wings. "Better not keep her waiting." She smirked with a cute squee.
Once dressed, Charlie made her way down to the back of the hotel, which had a beautiful new courtyard that her father Lucifer had designed with the pin attached to her coat. Her eyes wandered around, taking in the gorgeous scenery as roses of all colors bloomed alongside some plants from all over Hell. Though what made her eyes go wide was past the beautiful rose arch.
It was a beautifully set up romantic dinner, and most of all, Charlie's eyes landed on the gorgeous angel standing by the table, looking rather shyly. Vaggie smiled at her though the outfit she wore was just breathtaking, the dress matched Charlie's suit with its lovely maroon, and black motif with it being a backless dress so her wings could pop out if she wanted to. "Surprise hon... Do you like it?" The woman replied as Charlie looked at her stunned.
"Oh wow... Y-you did all this?" Charlie shook her head to regain composure. She clearly must've been staring for too long since Vaggie had a darker shade of blush tinting her dusky cheeks. "Vaggie it's so wonderful, thank you." Charlie beamed walking over.
Razzle scurried over as the little goat demon poured the two some sparkling apple cider. "Well, I can't exactly lie to save my life, so I had to keep you busy somehow." Vaggie giggled as she and Charlie sat down at the table. "So I enlisted some help." She smiled a bit at Razzle, who politely bowed.
"And here I thought you wanted a break love?" Charlie smirked playfully, since this romantic dinner did take a lot of work.
"Hon this is my break. I get to have a date with the women I love." Vaggie replied sharing an equally as playful smile.
Charlie couldn't help but blush at that cute smile, she always loved it when her girlfriend smiled. Though she was curious at how Vaggie pulled this off without her noticing, then she noticed Razzle wheeling in their dinner, a delicious turkey feast. "You had Razzle do most of it didn't you?" She chuckled as Vaggie nodded.
"Only some things like cooking and setting up." The angel replied brushing some hair away. "I went into town to find the outfits for tonight."
"You chose Maroon because it blends yours and my favorite colors, right?" Charlie giggled since she did like red and pink while Vaggie was more so a purple kind of girl. "And this?" She motioned to the pin.
"I had your dad's help with that one." Vaggie stated as around her neck was the same one but in necklace form. "He seemed thrilled about it."
Charlie rolled her eyes but smiled. "I like the fact we're matching now with these. I'll treasure it always, my beautiful angel." Her voice sounded loving and sweet with a soft purr. Vaggie couldn't help but blush at that.
The two talked and enjoyed their dinner as soon Vaggie finished and stood. Her stride elegant from her training with Carmilla Carmine. "Care to dance with mi amor?" Her gaze soft as pink looked into red.
"I'd love to, but babe, where's the music?" Charlie chuckled standing up and taking Vaggie's hand. She then looked over as Razzle sped back over with a CD player and turned it on before leaving the girls alone again. "Well that answers my question."
With the soft tempo, the two began to waltz. Of course, Charlie slightly fumbled it, but Vaggie made sure she didn't fall. It felt like nothing else was there in Hell as the two moved around the beautiful greenery of the garden. Charlie smirked and twirled her small girlfriend, making the angel laugh. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you love to dance?" She giggled noticing how fluent her girlfriend was.
"Couldn't exactly find the right partner before to do this with. So I was often alone back up in heaven..." Vaggie's fell slightly but perked back up again when Charlie lifted her up. "Whoa hey!"
Charlie smirked and playfully set Vaggie back down before kissing her angel on the cheek. "You're not alone anymore, though. So please don't hesitate if you ever want to go dancing ok? I'd love to be your dance partner." The princess smiled nuzzling her girlfriend.
Vaggie couldn't help but stay close as the tempo of the music granted her the slow dance. "Oh Charlie... Thank you." She leaned into her taller girlfriend's chest, smiling. "I feel more at home down here with you than I'd ever had back up there."
The princess felt heat rise to her cheeks again but smirked as the music picked up the beat again. "I'm glad, and can I tell you a little secret?" She playfully dipped Vaggie, who yelped in surprise. "You're the only one who makes me feel so free and safe. My title, my parents, none of it changed your view of me." She started leading the dance as she spoke, making Vaggie a little stunned. Charlie lifted Vaggie up again, smiling the biggest grin. "You supported my dreams and even gave me feedback on them too. You lifted me up when I felt sad or lonely, and above it all, you saw me for me." Vaggie blushed harder than ever as she was perched in those loving arms staring down at her loving princess.
"Charlie..." Vaggie started but couldn't find the words.
"How in hell did I get such a strong, hot, and wonderful girlfriend is beyond me. But I do know I love her more than anything." Charlie giggled as she then blinked her eyes sparkling as her angel spread her wings while wearing the brightest shade of golden blush on her face. The princess saw those wings shimmer in Hell's light as she smiled letting her own demonic form peek through as red horns and a long black tail came out.
Vaggie watched those eyes shift from ruby red to a bright yellow and smiled. "I love you too, mi amor.." She leaned down cupping Charlie's cheek with her hand and planted a kiss on those beautiful lips.
The two remained like that for awhile until Vaggie moved back and lovingly held those cheeks. However she noticed that beautiful devilish glint in those eyes. "I think I'll show you my surprise then, shall we return to our room?" Charlie giggled and shifted around so she'd have Vaggie in her arms princess carry style. "I think you'll love it."
"Whatever it is, I think I might." Vaggie chuckled cuddling her girlfriend as the two came back to the bedroom. Though Vaggie was confused when Charlie didn't immediately squish her into their mattress. She watched her princess put her down on the comfy bed and move to the vanity. "Hmm?"
Charlie looked nervous as her tail twitched, but she gulped and pulled something out from the drawer. She soon walked over with a loving yet nervous smile. Vaggie tilted her head as Charlie whispered to herself, "You can do this." And proceeded to kneel down to the beautiful angel on the bed. "Vaggie... Would you.. Do me the honors of becoming my queen? My... Wife?" Charlie presented her a ring. It was golden with a vine motif and a brilliant apple center fixated with what looked to be an amythst.
Vaggie gasped, covering her mouth with her hand. Tears began to form as she just tackled Charlie. "Yes, I'd love to, hon!" She replied making Charlie beam and also start to cry.
"Hey I nearly dropped the ring silly! At least let me slip it onto you first!" She was laughing and a sobbing mess. Vaggie moved back enough to let Charlie slip the ring onto her finger as the two giggled. "I never knew I could get this happy."
"Me neither mi amor..." Vaggie then pulled Charlie in for a deep kiss. The latter returned it equally as it became passionate. The two slipped onto the bed as their night had just began.
(And cut! Hope you guys enjoy my Chaggie fic! I've seen stuff where Vaggie teaches Charlie to dance and where she also gives Charlie a ring too. Made me squee and want to try my hand at it.)

Just finished episode 7 and 8 of Hazbin hotel!
These are not in order of appearance and I tried to make them vegue enough that someone with only the knowledge we've accumulated before these episodes would've know for sure any spoilers.
- Every song in these two episodes where so adorable and hopeful. I feel like if it was edited a bit it could have passed as another mlp:fim anthem (very positive)
- they made fun of the fact that episode 6's reveal is kinda obvious to the keen eyed ( which makes [redacted] the best person to point it out
- the explanation on how to kill an angel made SO much sense!
- noo they're dead :'( I knew it was most likely to happen but It still hurt
- Yes! They made it! I knew they where pure enough to be reformable! :')
- Why am I so hyped over a throwaway line? Why Am I Do Hyped Over A Throwaway Line?OMG YASSS ACE REP ACE REP ACE REP
- She gets excited about romance but still respects and initiates the agnolagement of the existence of the aroace!?!?!? Am I dreaming?? (positive)
- "This is only the beginning" I feel that's a comfort for the viewer as well who just got acquainted with these characters.
- Since our characters didn't get filler eps to breath and interact so far stopping now would feel really bad. Seeing this as a intro and not a full fleged arc feels comfier than seeing it as an ending for the viewer and a beginning for the characters.
- Ooo what's going on with Alastor The Fragiled Egoed Insecure Lil Guy? Is he feeling a lil frightened. A lil scared ?
- Ooo what's going on with Lilith after she when to buy milk and then never returned?
- Groop hug with lil big man! 🤗
- lol Vox is SO obsessed with Alastor. That's really embarrassing for him haha

Hazbin Hotel season 1 episode 7 & 8 spoilers below
Okay, so Charlie made a deal with Alastor. It was a loosie goosey deal, and the PRINCESS of HELL now owes the Radio Demon of favor. Obviously, she's at his mercy for this deal, but Charlie has ONE saving grace in the wording of their deal:
She owes him a favor, but that favor CANNOT result in the harm of someone else.
If Alastor uses his favor that results in someone Charlie cares about getting hurt... then their deal is forfit.
Alastor is smart, but if episode 8 has shown us one thing it's that he's still very much human. Everyone (including us fans!) have seen him as this untouchable, powerful force that no one dares to challenge. Why else would he be so confident in going up alone against Adam in the finale? It's clear in his verse of "The Show Must Go On," that he's viewed himself the same way for quite some time now too, and now he's been reminded of his limitations, his weaknesses. Alastor is not the big, bad Overlord that he thinks he is. He's confined by his deal and he will most likely use his favor from Charlie to be free of his deal and whoever owns his soul.
But here's the sugar on the cream, dear readers:
He's desperate.
I don't know how deals work in the Helluva-verse, but the devil is always in the details in contracts. Y'all SAW the few strings of sanity Alastor had left being tap danced on during his final verse. That wasn't a murder-happy, deal-making Overlord: that was a man ready to do anything in order to save his own skin. He's desperate, and as a result, he's going to be sloppy.
Alastor made a deal with Charlie, giving him an unnamed favor for ANYTHING from her in the future...so long as said "favor" doesn't result in someone being harmed. "Harmed" is a pretty loose term that can fall under pretty much anything. Alastor doesn't do anything without some sort of damage being done in the process. It's his M.O. Alastor is not known for his mercy.
Alastor's undoing will be by his own hand. He waited patiently for the right moment to strike this deal with Charlie, but when it came right down to it, he was too eager for the deal to be made. He didn't realize the massive handicap he accidentally gave himself in the process.
Alastor backed himself into a corner and he doesn't even know it. Instead of being at his Deal Maker's mercy, he's now held hostage at Charlie's definition of "harm," for whenever Alastor decides to cash in his favor.
In trying to escape his current cage, Alastor put himself into an even smaller one in the process.
Alastor is his own worst enemy.

Knowing that Alastor managed to make a deal with Charlie, I wonder if he plans to use her to break himself out of whatever contract he’s stuck in

HAZBIN HOTEL TUMBLR! I HAVE SOLVED IT!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think i know why Charlie is crying at Angel’s door!
First, the other theories. The main 2 are that Angel either died, or was redeemed and sent to heaven. Now Vivienne herself has said that HuskerDust is going to be a slowburn relationship, and that seems to rule out the possibility of Angel dying. And after the situation in episode 6, I highly doubt that anyone in heaven will be keen on taking in sinners, especially this close to the next extermination.
So here comes my theory: Valentino made Angel come back and live at the studio again.
In episode 6, Valentino said that he was going to make Angel pay at the studio for talking back to him at the night club. Man’s upset. And in episode 2, he told Vox he was pissed that Angel moved to the hotel because he would have less control over him.
To me, this seems like the logical answer because it's something that Val would absolutely do (we already know he isn't not happy about the whole thing)and it would also be a good punishment for what happened at the club. This would also definitely explain Charlie's reaction.
