The Lord of the Underworld And His Lady Of Spring Part 2
In this continuation of ‘The Lord Of The Underworld And His Lady Of Spring,’ a part of me and @princess-of-pearls-and-stars HPHM x Twisted Wonderland AU, the guys and Asteria all come together in the Headmage’s office only to make more discoveries, but still no answers on how to resolve the issues of the invaders. As always, Helena belongs to me and Asteria belongs to @princess-of-pearls-and-stars
Tumblr media
Everyone who seemed to be coming finished with Malleus and Lilia teleporting into the Headmage’s office. Asteria had to note Fae magic was quite interesting and they seemed to perform these teleportations just like apparations, albeit with much less stress.
“I hope we didn’t keep you waiting.” Malleus apologized.
“Malleus! Lilia!” Kalim cheered, “You made it!”
“Hmm…” Lilia mumbled to himself in a barely audible tone, “Seems like I was correct about who was abducted for the most part.”
For the most part!? Asteria thought to herself. What was that supposed to mean? She knew Malleus and Lilia were full of secrets yet some bothered and caused more speculation than others.
Trey cleared his throat, “I was just baking some cookies in the dorm when I got word that Riddle had been kidnapped. Then I heard Ace and Deuce were injured and went straight to the infirmary. It was all so sudden it’s hard to wrap my head around it.”
“The stables where Riddle was taken is like a war zone.” Cater added. “Even the grass was burnt to a crisp. What in the world is going on?”
“That’s what I want to know!” Ruggie exclaimed. “Leona surrendered unconditionally, yeah I know, Leona of all people. Then he said ‘Ruggie, you’re in charge of Savanaclaw until I get back, Then again, I can’t be sure I’ll come back at all…’ He was dead serious too!”
“As we understand it.” Jade began smoothly, “Azul was taken during a club meeting.”
“The board game club guys say he left with them peacefully.” Floyd continued for his brother. “And Firefly Squid and Lil’ Clione went along too. I don’t know though, it doesn’t sound like Azul.”
“Asteria’s group and I were originally with Vil and Jamil back at Ramshackle.” Kalim revealed what Asteria knew all too well.
Rook elaborated further, “We tried to fight the intruders with magic, but it had no effect on them. They took Vil and Jamil, along with Grim and Helena.”
Jade pondered for a moment, “There must be a reason then that Leona and Azul didn’t fight back.”
“Yeah…” Ruggie realized, “Now that I think about it, Leona seemed to know what their deal was…”
“…hm” was the only audible sound that escaped Malleus’ lips before more words were spoken at long last, glancing at Lilia. “Kingscholar is from an old royal house. It would stand to reason he has heard of them…”
Asteria raised an eyebrow, “What are you talking about?”
~~~
“I’ll field that question.” Asteria heard the familiar voice of Professor Trein as he entered the room.
“Oh hello Trein.” Lilia spoke casually at the somewhat unexpected visitor, “Where is the headmage?”
“Styx took him into custody as well.” Professor Trein enlightened them. “I’m in charge while he is away.”
“Maybe it’s good the Headmage is gone.” Asteria muttered to herself, “Perhaps we can actually get answers.”
“Hold up what’s Styx?” Floyd asked the Professor with a puzzled look.
Professor Trein folded his arms, “An organization that operates independently of any nation or government. It is an arcane institute that conducts research on blot. They have done so for many years.” A revelation that brought shock to nearly everyone, except the Diasomnia Housewarden and Vice Housewarden.
“They study blot?” Jade broke the silence that was formed.
“I get it now…” Floyd added.
“Get what?” Kalim raised an eyebrow.
“Think about who they took.” Jade pointed out.
“It was Riddle, Leona, Azul, and Jamil.” Cater reminded the group, “So they abducted Jamil, who is a Vice Housewarden, and left Kalim alone. But they didn’t take Rook who is also a Vice Housewarden. So they aren’t targeting just Housewardens or just Vice Housewardens.”
“It’s people who’ve overblotted!” Kalim exclaimed.
“Wait a few questions, one when did Vil overblot!?” Ruggie looked at Rook and Kalim and only received silent nods in response. “And two that doesn’t explain why they targeting Grim and Helena.”
“Nor the fact that Riddle and the others received proper medical treatment.” Trey pointed out. “They have all made a complete recovery. Why would this come up now?”
“Hmm…” Malleus pondered, “There is someone who probably knows their reasons, the Watchman of the Island of Woe.”
“The what?” Asteria was still just as confused as she was before.
“Ah” Rook seemed to have more knowledge of the subject than she did, “I’ve seen mention of them here and there in old history books. Are you acquainted with this dreadful isle and its Watchman, Roi des Dragons?”
Malleus had a confused look on his face, “Are you that clueless Hunt? You are acquainted with him as well.”
“I am?” Rook seemed to regain confusion.
“And not just Rook.” Lilia reminded Malleus, “We all are acquainted with him to some extent at the very least.”
Rook folded his arms, “Are you suggesting what I think you are that Idia is this so called Watchman?”
“Well it’s more of a family title.” Malleus explained, “I believe the current head is…Aidne Shroud?” Looking over at Lilia for confirmation.
Lilia shook is head, “No, she passed away, now it is Aidne’s son, Idia’s father.”
“Human generations pass by so quickly.” Malleus quietly realized.
“True but Styx is a rather recent development.” Lilia reminded him. “Perhaps only a century or so?”
“Wait slow down.” Ruggie pleaded, “I am still confused. Leona mentioned Idia’s family is apart of some megacorp but that’s just a cover for the whole Styx and Watchman of Island of Woe thing!?”
~~~
“While the Watchman has become sort of an urban legend now.” Lilia explained. “You see back in the old days, when mages were called witches and wizards, they were feared across the land. People believed the Island of Woe would punish anyone who abandoned their principles and went mad with power.”
Malleus continued, “One of my family’s history books even claims that the group is so ancient they date back to the age of the Gods. Back then, the relationship between magic and blot wasn’t realized. Instead, people believed, overblots were disasters that occurred without warning. The Jupiter Family sealed those disasters away on the Island of Woe to bring peace. And the Watchman is in place to protect the land from those disasters plaguing everyone once more. The first was one of the Shroud family’s ancestors.”
“Sounds more like a myth than history.” Cater remarked.
Lilia picked up where Malleus left off, “Mind you, humans never stopped researching magic, eager students that they were. Time marched on and eventually magic became safe to practice, with witches and wizards becoming known as mages. In the present, mage licenses are international and are globally recognized for the betterment they bring society. And there have been many laws and acts to help with the necessary discipline and overtime the Watchman began to fade from the history books. But regardless the group continued their research on the disasters, and that is what Styx is.”
“I see.” Professor Trein continued, “We were aware that Idia was the son of the Shroud family. But this is the first I have heard of a connection between his family and Styx. I haven’t even seen any of this discussed and I have read just about every book and work on magical history.”
“Ah but you see you are limited to the texts that survive among humankind.” Lilia pointed out. “Humans and Fae stopped intermingling long ago, and not every truth is written down.”
Trein cleared his throat, “This makes me wonder if the headmage was aware of any of this. And if he was does that mean he was unable to work with the Shroud family to prevent this?”
Malleus only shrugged, “Who can say really. Even if he had known he wouldn’t have been able to stop them.”
“So does that enlighten anyone about the plan they have for the ones who were abducted.” Trey wondered out loud.
Jade spoke strangely casually, “If they are lucky they will only be examined. If they are unlucky they will become test subjects. And if they are REALLY UNLUCKY they-“
“Let’s not finish that sentence.” Kalim requested with a freaked out look.
“But those goons rolled up and blasted half of campus.” Floyd reminded everyone, “There are ton’s of witnesses right? At least someone had to have gotten them on video. Doesn’t seem very sneaky or secretive to me.”
“Perhaps they have a reliable way of clearing the mess they make up?” Jade suggested.
Professor Trein sighed, “Look, we don’t know where the Island of Woe is which means we can’t pursue those who were abducted. I want all of you to return to your dorms and do a roll call, check for any injured students and report back to me.”
“Yes sir!” The remaining housewardens and vice housewardens said in unison except for Rook who had an ever growing scowl on his face.
~~
Around the same time as it would turn out, those who were captured would arrive at the mysterious Island of Woe. More specifically, Styx’s headquarters. The four housewardens and vice housewarden looked at their surroundings, yet soon enough, they spotted a familiar face with hair made of fiery blue flames.
“Uhh hey everyone, welcome to the dark and gloomy Island of Woe.” Idia awkwardly greeted them, “And Styx headquarters.”
“It’s you…” Vil breathed furiously.
“Yep Idia Shroud acting director of Styx.” He added as he was joined by Ortho Shroud, Helena Othonos, and one of the intruders from earlier.
“How did Helena get here before us.” Leona grunted, “Must have gotten special treatment.”
“That’s the only thing that comes to your minds?” Idia raised an eyebrow, “No ‘Say What!!!’ Or ‘No Way!!!’”
Azul sighed, “I’m so shocked I’m actually calm.”
“Granted we already assumed there was some connection.” Vil pointed out. “But you’re the acting director? That’s not some tangential link!”
“Less Chit Chat more answers Radish Sprout.” Leona glared at Idia, “Why did you bring us here and I can’t believe I am saying this, but why does Helena act and look more like a robot with those new glasses and uniform of hers than Ortho? You did jam us in cargo and didn’t bother even giving us an economy seat.”
“Yikes those are some scary fangs.” Idia jumped as Leona growled. “Just cool your jets and this will all be over and we can have a good time.”
Jamil was simply furious, “You attack our school and abduct us. And clearly have done something to Helena as she hasn’t even said a word of recognition. And you still want us to ‘cool our jets’ you are lucky her sister isn’t here or you would already be dead as a doornail.”
“Do you want to lose your head!?” Riddle exclaimed.
The previous intruder starts speaking in a robotic tone, “Detecting a buildup of magic in Subject A. Readying stun-“
“Woah woah!” Idia called out, “Pause that.” He then looked over at the others, “And Helena’s perfectly fine since unlike you all she hasn’t forgotten one itty bitty detail that’s very crucial.
“Huh?” The boys exclaimed in unison, equally confused.
Idia grinned deviously, “Where are you again? And who am I again? I’m the BOSS” words that seemed to frighten the five guys. “Don’t hurt us we won’t hurt you. It’s as simple as that.”
“Injury will decrease by 57% as long as you follow my brother’s instructions.” Ortho gleefully predicted.
“Very well.” Vil sighed, “There aren’t any better options regardless. I’ll comply and behave.” After a bit of silence, Vil’s tone turned more assertive, “Well? Are forcibly detaining us, I trust you at least have the decency to serve us some tea? Surely your girlfriend isn’t the only one who will be treated like a normal person.”
Idia mumbled, “The way you’re acting doesn’t remotely suggest compliance or good behavior… but whatever. Come on everybody follow me.” He then turned to Helena, “Would you mind preparing the tea?”
“Not at all.” Helena mindlessly smiled.

The Lord of The Underworld And His Lady of Spring Part 6
Next in the HPHM x Twisted Wonderland AU, it is time for the testing, as both groups of the boys go through it, Idia, along with Helena and Ortho go through the data to look for interesting results
Tumblr media
“Test One complete.” Ortho confirmed, “Subjects are cooling down within the simulation.”
“All vital signs for the three subjects are normal.” An employee, Moor Eiriniko, of Helena recalled his name right, reported. “And blot accumulation is within standard range.”
“There are the numbers I expected as well.” Idia observed, “Time to see if they differ with the next test.”
“Simulator has been synced with the Lachesis System.” Another employee, this time, Etern Skotadi, was the one to talk, “We are set for the second test.”
Idia nodded firmly, “Take it away Ortho.”
“Roger!” Ortho obeyed, “Virtual enemy mode standby. Commencing dive!”
~~~
“Test two complete.” Ortho reported, “Subjects are cooling down in the sim.”
“Vital signs remain normal.” Moor typed on a tablet as he talked, “Yet there has been an increase in blot accumulation.”
Etern looked at the system and made modifications, “Lachesis System desynchronizing. Down to five percent… four, three, two… desync complete.”
“Simulator cooldown has finished.” Ortho’s voice sounded, “Subjects are being transported to the recovery room.”
“Excellent.” Idia breathed a sigh of relief, “When you are done with that, prepare Subjects B and D for their testing.”
“Roger.” Ortho’s holographic figure nodded before disappearing.
“Now let’s read the stats for these famed housewardens.” Idia grinned as he went over to a large screen.
“The difference in their blot accumulation rates is fascinating.” Helena observed, walking up to Idia to stand beside him.
“Totally.” Idia smiled at her and then looked at the screen, “Let’s look at Riddle first. He busts out spells like he is in hyperdrive. And his magic pool is way beyond other mages his age. Likely had training in magic at a young age. Like a sports pro who practiced their whole lives since they could walk. It’s the only way he could wield such numbers. If you ask me, his strength is more from hard work than from innate talent.”
Helena hummed, “He also has a tendency to elevate his output and brute force his magic during moments of indecision.”
“Whiles it is inefficient.” Idia admitted,
“he had the power to back him up”
“And his mental state is impacted by external factors rather than internal ones.” Helena pointed out, “If my memory serves him right, he had quite the controlling mother watching over him, a skill mage doctor in the Queendom of Roses.”
“Despite everything though.” Idia starred at the screen, “Its safe to say he has a strong offense but a paper thin defense. Being quite fragile physically and mentally when he isn’t in control of his surroundings.”
“Yet compare that to Azul,” Helena observed, looking at his results. “Despite his slow speed at casting, he is precise and deadly accurate with his spells.”
“He served as a support for Riddle’s brash actions!” Idia declared. “On one hand he is calm and efficient, on the other you could say he is cowardly for hiding behind the magical gifts of others.”
“Or it just means he can be suited as a healer.” Helena shrugged playfully.
“Perhaps he is careful because he has a small magic pool.” Idia theorized, “like he is banking up on his quick thinking to make up for his little reserves or something. It’s not like he can use his signature spell willy nilly.”
“Making him the opposite of Riddle.” Helena observed, “Then there is the case of Vil, who is unique in his own right.”
“Oh boy talk about STABLE.” Idia exclaimed. “All of his numbers are remarkably high and he hardly breaks a sweat. His lack of sharp performance strikes may be one thing, but he is solid in both offense and defense. And I am pretty sure Vil didn’t get any specialized training prior to his enrollment.”
“His physical and mental resilience is rather impressive.” Helena observed.
“He would make a perfect tank!” Idia declared with confidence. “Vil’s signature spell is a long duration debuff curse… and since he’s got a big magic pool, it is a long lasting one, that’s huge. I would hate having to fight these guys, but oh man they’d be a blast to play if they were in an RPG!”
~~~
“That was quick.” Idia exclaimed with wide eyes, “They figured out how the system worked immediately.”
“Well Leona is the type of guy who knows when he is dreaming.” Helena reminded him.
Idia sighed, “Where’s the fun in that? And Jamil’s stress levels barely moved to. How did these guys overblot? Vil as well for that matter.”
“Simulator cooldown complete.” Ortho reported as astern worked on desyncing the system, “Transferring subjects to the recovery room.”
“Testing sequence completed at 2245” Moor took note of.
“Good, good.” Idia muttered then looked at the two employees, “You two are free to go once the data is backed up.”
“Roger.” The two men nodded.
Ortho suddenly entered the room, “All subjects are in the recovery room Idia. They’re fast asleep.”
Helena laughed, “When is Leona not asleep? Not surprising at all.”
“Nice job Ortho.” Idia spoke calmly
“You to Idia!” Ortho cheered happily, “What do the results look like for Leona Kingscholar and Jamil Viper?”
Helena gasped as Idia put the data on the monitor, “Their numbers are exceptional!”
Idia started with looking at Leona’s data, “Spoiled or not, Leona is still royalty. Totally makes sense that he would have top notch magic instruction as a kid. His casting speed is off the charts and his magic pool is huge and he is quite efficient which helps with minimizing blot accumulation.” Idia sighed, “But I already knew Leona was tough and could handle whatever danger is thrown at him. And it’s hard to measure resilience when it comes to inner turmoil.”
“He does seem to commonly exhibit a great mental fortitude.” Ortho agreed. “And a drastic change could lead to an increase in blot accumulation.”
“Stat-wise he would be a great tank like Vil.” Idia continued. “But given his personality, he isn’t best suited for a leader. Now that I mention it, their personalities don’t seem to match with their ideal class.”
“What class do you believe Jamil would be?” Helena pondered.
“He’s tricky.” Idia admitted with a shrug, “He could fit just about anywhere TBH. But he tends to go for efficiency over speed, just like Azul. Looking at his background… he had no training before arriving at Night Raven College. Yet where he differs is how he is really quick and precise with defensive magic. Perhaps it’s his natural state given how he guards Kalim.
“So perhaps a Melee to defend a tank or a healer?” Ortho proposed.
“Something like that.” Idia nodded. “Just imagine it, Night Raven Quest, the RPG, now that’s a game I’d play even more given these additional stats.”
“You should totally make it Idia!” Ortho energetically requested, “It would be a blast! And it could be open world!”
“Development costs would be too much for open world for such a ridiculous concept.” Idia pointed out. “Besides development for a joke concept like this would be a pain and waste of my time.”
“Say Idia.” A lightbulb seemed to light up for Ortho, “Why don’t you invite the Housewardens to play with you and Muscle Red?”
“What!? No!” Idia was simply horrified, “Where did you get that idea!? None of these guys are interested in gaming! They are complete normies! And besides, we are going to send them to the River Lethe before they return to Night Raven College. They will forget everything, and possibly us as well.”Glancing briefly over at Helena and her Pomegranate lenses that his parents insisted on if their detail instructions before their departure, before finally turning his gaze to Ortho, “There is no use with making friends with them…”

The Lord of The Underworld and His Lady of Spring Part 1
In this story for the HPHM x Twisted Wonderland AU, Vil, Rook, Epel, Deuce, Ace, Asteria, Jamil, Kalim and Helena are talking about their recent performance at a competition and their shortcomings due to be tired from dealing with an overblot in the midst of it. However as things start to look for the better, even with Grim’s location unknown to the girls temporarily, they turn south faster than one could imagine.
Asteria belongs to @princess-of-pearls-and-stars while Helena belongs to me. These stories are Inspired by Chapters 8, 9, and 10 of Book 6
Tumblr media
One minute, they were talking about their recent concert appearance and shortcomings. The next, Ramshackle shook in a way that Helena and Asteria were both convinced the old and archaic building was going to collapse. It had been abandoned for years after all and was a wreck when they first moved in.
Epel was the first to bring the suspicions everyone was thinking into words, “Was that an earthquake?”
Rook looked out the window in an attentive way just like a hunter, and his eyes widened when he found his target. “No it isn’t, look out the window.”
Kalim rushed over to the window and followed Rook’s eyes towards the sky with his own, “What in the world!? There’s a bunch of guys flying through the air! Are they on hoverboards.”
“Technology like that means it might be related to Ignihyde.” Asteria did her best to remain calm.
“I’ve been to Ignihyde many times to watch animes with Idia.” Helena reminded her sister, “And while I believe they have a handful of these hoverboard things, it’s certainly not that many. And those don’t even look like students.”
“That’s not possible…” Vil breathed, not really paying attention to the girl’s words it seemed not that it mattered all that much. “This school has a magical barrier to keep out intruders. And it is always up as long as we don’t have a special event going on.”
“Maybe that sound was the barrier getting breached!” Jamil theorized.
“But how?” Vil reminded him, “It is complex magic.”
“Some are coming this way!” Rook called out to alert the group, “Let’s see there is one, two-!?” He then did a 180 degree turn and faced the group, “EVERYONE GET DOWN!”
Large sounds followed as figures crashed into the structure of Ramshackle. Soon enough they were all on the floor trying to get cover. Helena barely even noticed Asteria’s protective arm around them.
“Asteria! Helena!” Deuce called out first, rushing over. “Are you both ok?”
“I-“ Helena was about to respond before she was silenced by the sight in front of her. There were at least three guard looking figures in some sort of technologically advanced armor. It was a metallic grey with a couple of its accents being a glowing blue. They appeared to be quite hostile and heartless, nothing like Ortho, well, at least when he wasn’t trying to shoot the school down with a laser beam to save Idia from a crazy ghost bride that is.
Once they regained their footing, Jamil jumped in front of his Housewarden, “Kalim get back!” He firmly instructed as he looked at the guards the same way Helena did. “I’ve never seen that kind of gear before…” He muttered to himself, although Helena could just barely hear his words and assumed others could as well to some extent.
“Hepta team coming in.” One of the mysterious intruders started, seemingly alerting their master of a discovery, “We’ve got visuals on subjects D, E, and G. Moving in for capture.”
“I haven’t the faintest idea who these people are.” Vil began as he tried to examine the guards from a distance, “but crashing through windows shows an appalling lack of manners.” He turned to the rest of the group with a firm expression, “I hereby declare this an emergency! By my authority as Pomefiore Housewarden, I authorize the use of magic on the intruders!”
“Oui!” Rook seconded as the vice housewarden.
“I do the same for Scarabia!” Kalim mustered in his most authoritative voice. “Prepare for battle!”
Vil’s eyes turned to Deuce, Ace, Epel, Asteria, and Helena, “Freshmen, stay back, and do not get involved for your own safety. Heartslabyul students, call your Housewarden!”
“Yes sir!” Deuce, Ace, Epel, and Helena said in unison, however Helena could see out of the corner of her eye that Asteria was frustrated by sitting on the sidelines. But surely she knew that their magic only seemed to work half the time in this world, right?
The same robotic guard spoke again, “Subjects D and E exhibiting hostility, Subject G showing signs of retreating. Requesting permission to engage.”
“Permission granted.” A voice over the robots intercom sounded. “Execute capture plan C”
~~~
“They’re all struggling…” Epel observed as the battle commenced.
“Those oar-looking staffs can churn out spells real quick!” Deuce pointed out with a great amount of perception.
“AUGH!” Vil exclaimed as said oar-looking staff-thing shot another intense concentration of magic.
“VIL!” Rook called out as Vil collapsed on the ground, and by the looks of it, also lost consciousness.
“Subject E is subdued.” The robotic guard sounded. “Securing now.”
“GAHHH!” Jamil screamed out as the same thing that happened to Vil moments ago occurred to him as well.
“JAMIL!” Kalim panicked.
“We have also secured Subject D, all that is left is Subject G.” The robotic guard informed its instructor or head of operations Helena theorized. “Tetra team has already captured Subject F.
Once the last capture is complete we will rendezvous then return to HQ.”
“Where are you taking them!” Kalim frantically requested, “WAIT!”
“Whoa…” Ace breathed, “The housewardens and vice housewardens went down in seconds.”
“And it’s not over yet…” Asteria pointed out, “They were talking about a Subject G, perhaps that’s Kalim or Rook? But why did they stop if that’s the case?”
“didn’t they say that ‘Subject G’ was retreating? If we assume it is someone in here then it has to be one of us.” Deuce determined.
“But who would that be?” Epel pondered.
“Heck if any of us know.” Helena snapped. “We should just stay low.”
“Tetra team has regrouped with Hepta Team.” The intruders sounded again.
“What in Tarnation!” Epel exclaimed again as he looked up, “They are hauling a cage. Wait… ain’t that…”
“LEMME OUT! GET ME OUT OF HERE!”
Helena and Asteria recognized the voice even before they saw who it came from. As they looked simultaneously through the rubble and dense amounts of people. They spotted Grim, being carried in a cage with tight bars as he attempted to escape his prison. How did he end up in such a predicament after the Shrouds helped with retrieving him earlier?
“GRIM!?” Asteria called out frantically.
“Ace! Asteria! Helena! Deuce!” Grim cried out.
“We need to stop them!” Epel got on his feet, “Come on, I ain’t doing this on my own am I?”
“Right!” Deuce agreed, “Hold on Grim! I’ll save you!”
“Dude, Vil just told us to stay back.” Ace tried to remind them, “Helena has a point you know, if we fight we will loose, we should just stay low, and come up with a plan when we can have, no offense, a stronger team?”
“Don’t be such a coward!” Asteria quickly got on her feet pulling out her wand, with Helena reluctantly following suit.
“OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!” Ace pleaded, but presumed he had no choice.
~~~
Asteria noted how the battle was practically over before it started, and somehow ending up as the last to emerge in their line of fighters despite Ace and Helena’s initial reluctance. She couldn’t doubt that it was a disturbing sight to behold.
“Argh.” Ace mumbled mindlessly. “Didn’t stand… a chance… urgh.”
“Urgh guh…” Deuce moaned.
“Dagnabbit.” Epel muttered.
Yet the only voice Asteria didn’t manage to hear, even in a soft tone, was that of her own sister. Her eyes frantically scanned the room and eventually spotted her figure. And panicked when she saw her sister not moving.
“HELENA!” Asteria frantically called out, trying to rush to her but the robotic guards beat her to it, taking her sister.
“Subject G is secured.” The robotic man sounded, “Reporting Back to HQ.”
“Lemme Go!” Grim pleaded, “I don’t want to go! Asteria!!!” He called as his paw reached out to her.
“GRIM! HELENA!” Asteria called out, practically screaming as they were taken away.
“VIL! JAMIL!” Rook and Kalim did the same in nearly identical tones to Asteria.
Rook growled then did a few meditative breaths before turning to Scarabia’s Housewarden, “Kalim, we must tend to our injured freshmen. I will take them to the infirmary.”
“But Jamil…” Kalim stammered, “Jamil’s been…”
“KALIM.” Rook asserted to get his attention. “You must calm yourself. Jamil has been abducted. You need to step up and fulfill your Housewarden duties by yourself.”
Kalim only reluctantly sighed, however it seemed to be more out of concern for Jamil than the idea of added rightful responsibility, “All right, I’ll go summon the other house “wardens.”
Ace grunted again, “…didn’t pick up…”
Asteria rushed to Ace’s side, his mumbling did not sound promising, nor did his grunting. And he seemed to be wincing from pain.
“Huh?” Rook raised an eyebrow.
Ace attempted to speak again, wincing against the pain as Asteria looked at him with widened eyes trying to tend to him and Deuce the best she could, at least Epel seemed to be in a better state, although that wasn’t saying much. “Called…Housewarden Riddle…but he didn’t…pick up…”
“Oh no!” Kalim exclaimed as realization hit his features and he turned to Rook, “Do you think?”
“There is a likely chance.” Rook determined, “We don’t have much time, we must warn whoever we can.”

Third Time’s A Charm Part One
Here is a HPHM x Twisted Wonderland Story me and @princess-of-pearls-and-stars came up with. This particular addition focuses on the Ghost Marriage event!
Asteria belongs to @princess-of-pearls-and-stars while Helena belongs to me. The story below is inspired by chapters 14 and 15 from the event
Tumblr media
“So we gathered a grand total of NOBODY!?” The Headmage exclaimed as large amounts of refusals to become an acting suitor to a ghost princess to save Ignihyde’s Housewarden came rolling in rapidly.
Ortho only sighed, “Absolutely heartless.”
“Worry not!” Rook called out, “You have two qualified suitors right here!” Referring to himself and Epel.
“Rook Hunt! Epel Felmier!” Ortho cheered up immediately, “You’ll help my brother?”
“But of course!” Rook beamed, “Helping our fellow man is one of the most beauteous acts. That and I refuse to let any more mockery of Vil’s fair features continue! Epel is just as motivated as myself!”
“That’s right!” Epel confirmed confidently, “If I save my Housewarden, then he will have to recognize my strength.”
“So our C Team consists of two people.” Ace observed, scratching the back of his head in disinterest, “Well I suppose I can’t blame the others for not wanting to get involved…”
“I’ll join you.” Riddle announced proudly.
“Wait why!?” Ace questioned, his eyes filled with surprise, “You’re not seriously going to rescue Cater and Trey.”
“That’s part of it.” Riddle explained, “After all it’s part of a housewarden’s job to make up for the shortcomings of their dorm’s members. However, if you remember Ace, there is a much more critical reason to partake in this.”
“So Idia doesn’t become a ghost and Ortho doesn’t burn down the school?” Ace assumed.
“Partially.” Riddle quietly chuckled, “But remember Rule 703: ‘Anyone who comes in second in a croquet tournament must serve the Queen tea the next day.”
“What’s that got to do with…” Ace raised an eyebrow before coming to a realization, “OH!”
“What?” Asteria question, still very confused.
“You see, Cater came in second during yesterday’s croquet tournament.” Riddle explained. “So he must return to the dorm before tomorrow. He has to serve tea to the queen — that is, to me — sometime today!”
“Look dude, if you really want some tea I can just…” Ace tried to offer.
“Out of the question.” Riddle turned him down immediately, “You didn’t even make it into the top ten yesterday Ace. It must be Cater and I’ll make sure he returns on time.”
“Sheesh, always the stickler.” Ace muttered. “At least none of this is my problem, good day!”
“Not so fast.” Riddle stopped him grabbing on to his arm before turning to the headmage, “So the next group of suitors will involve myself, Rook, Epel, and Ace, that makes four.”
“ME!?” Ace panicked, “Why do I need to be a part of this!?”
“Don’t tell me you were planning on sitting out.” Riddle raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms.
“Well duh.” Ace foolishly confirmed, “No reason to leap into this trainwreck. I want no part in it.”
“Fine.” Riddle seemingly dismissed him, “Go tend to the hedgehogs or something. I’ll be just fine with Epel here, because unlike you he has some sense of bravery and initiative.”
“Excuse me?” Ace exclaimed.
Riddle sighed as he looked at Epel, “It’s a pity my dorm’s freshmen are such cowards. Seems like you have more courage in your pinky finger than they have in their entire bodies.”
“Ex-CUSE me?” Ace repeated, with Helena quietly chuckling at the scene.
“Spineless worms like him would only slow us down.” Riddle continued to tease.
“EXCUSE ME?!” Ace yelled in an offended tone.”
“Riddle has a point.” Helena shrugged.
“Shut up.” Ace glared at her, clearly not wanting the reminder. “With my slick moves, I could get that bride to fall for me before Riddle and Epel had a chance, in fact, I doubt any of you would make the cut as we saw with the first two teams of guys, especially considering we had a literal prince among one of them. Rook might be fine since he is tall, but Riddle and Epel are shorter than-“
“Do you want to lose your head Ace?” Riddle interrupted him.
“NOTHING!” Ace took back his words.
“This bickering won’t get us anywhere.” Ortho noted, “And we only have a few hours until Midnight.” He then turned to Asteria and Helena, “Would you two make sure they stay focused?”
“You can count on us.” Asteria nodded, responding for both of them.
“Thank you!” Ortho cheered, “I knew you two wouldn’t let me down.”
“Well I ain’t going.” Grim refused.
“Nobody asked you to.” Ace pointed out.
“True.” Ortho agreed, “The chances of the bride choosing Grim are infinitely approaching zero.”
“That sounds like a challenge!” Grim snapped, “I am going with you all!”
“Ah this passion is beautiful!” Rook exclaimed delightfully.
“Considering the time we have and the few suitors left, this will be our last chance.” The headmage pointed out. “If Operation Proposal fails for a third time… Idia’s life will be forfeit.” The headmage pondered before continuing, “Perhaps we need a different approach to ensure the failures of Teams A and B don’t happen again.” He then turned to Helena and Asteria, “Perhaps one of the two of you could act the part of Idia’s fiancee, bringing along four suitors to take Idia’s place.”
“How about Helena.” Ace teased, “She was the one who was confused on why the idea of Idia being prince material was simply ludicrous.”
“Idia’s a fine guy!” Helena defended Ignihyde’s Housewarden. “A bit of a recluse but he hasn’t done anything warrant of this behavior.” She then turned to the Headmage, “I will take up the mantle.”
"And might as well add the rightful fiancée's rightfully furious sister into the mix " Asteria sighed and crossed her arms with a huff "I need to give that princess a piece of my mind about her taking over Ramshakle AND her slapping Deuce. Besides someone has to keep Ace in check"
"What's THAT supposed to mean ?!" Ace turned to look at the noirette with an indignant expression
"Statue Incident, Chandelier Incident, dealing with you when we were trying to get the magical stone from the Dwarfs Mine, the MANY times you've managed to land yourself or yourself, Deuce, & Grim in detention within these two months..." Asteria stated, glaring at Ace while stepping closer to him with each word before poking his chest "Need I say more sweetheart? Oh, and by the way, you still owe me and Helena lunch as payment for convincing Professor Crewel to give you a lighter punishment for the stunt you pulled in Potions class last week..."
“Excellent.” The Headmage clasped his hands together before turning to Riddle, Ace, Rook, and Epel, “One of things the ghost bride took points off of was the suitors attire. And she seemed to be quite taken by Idia’s tux. This is vital information we can’t ignore. I say we create four perfect princes and a rightful fiancee for this next attempt.”
Tumblr media
“Don’t you worry Headmage.” Sam assured Dire Crowley when they walked into his shop. “My stock is guaranteed to win this bride’s heart. Take the tuxes are would-be grooms and the dress are would-be fiancee are wearing as an example.”
“Where do I pin this boutonnière?” Asteria heard Epel ask.
“It goes on your lapel.” Riddle replied, “Here, allow me…”
Asteria then heard another voice, this time belonging to Ace as he said, “I’m not sure I got all of this on right. There is a whole lot of parts here.”
“Do not fret Monsieur Heart.” Rook assured the Heartslabyul freshman, “Your Albert chain and rosette are perfect.”
Ortho, who was next to the Headmage, Sam, Asteria and Grim spoke next, “Come out if you are ready.”
“All right.” Riddle accepted before stepping out from behind the curtain. He was dressed in a three piece suit with a white collared shirt, black vest with gold embroidery, and a red suit jacket that went down to his knees, toped with a large yellow tie that shimmered like gold. One side of his red hair was even tucked behind his ear so attentively.
“Roi des Roses you look positively gallant!” Rook exclaimed as he emerged next. He was also dressed in a three piece suit white a white undershirt, white and lavender striped vest, with the rest of his clothing being a royal purple. Rather than his usual hat, his head was bare of an head accessories, an unusual sight.
“Your words are appreciated.” Riddle thanked him. “I must hand it to you as well, Rook. You’ve certainly mastered the mature look; you’re a credit to your year.”
Rook beamed radiantly, “Merci!”
Ace was dressed in a red plaid suit with his auburn bangs tied back in a similar way to how he did it whenever he played basketball. He had a black tie, along with a yellow and blue ribbon. “Sure Housewarden Riddle and Rook look fine and all.” He began, “but I’m definitely not used to these fancy duds. I can’t decide if it’s cool and new or just stuffy and uncomfortable.”
“You have a point.” Epel noted as he also walked out, wearing a white suit jacket, purple plaid vest a black undershirt and pants, a golden tie, and a white rose. “Do I look weird in this get up?”
“Far from it!” Rook comforted his fellow Pomefiore resident, “It highlights your charming looks, that goes for both of you.” He added as he turned his eyes towards Ace as well.
"I have a hard time taking Rook's compliment at face value" Ace said, then immediatly turned to look at Asteria "What do you think Asteria? Am I nailing this lo-"
Ace's jaw promptly dropped once his eyes landed on Asteria. She was wearing an off the shoulders amethyst purple dress with a sweetheart neckline and an ankle length dress skirt. Around her waist was a ribbon with a bow tied at the back that looked exactly like his suits's jacket color and pattern
On her ears were gold and saphirre heart shaped earrings and around her neck was a heart shaped saphirre pendant on a gold chain as well as a gold and saphirre bracelet on her right wrist. For her makeup, there was a light dusting of gold eyeshadow on her eyelids, a soft blush on her cheeks, and cherry red lipgloss on her lips
And her hair - which was always in a singular braid - now fell down her back in long, bouncy black curls, the top of her head adorned with a crown of white, red, purple and blue roses. To put into simple terms, she looked gorgeous
“He is second in command to Vil Schoenheit, he surely knows what he is talking about.” Helena finally stepped out of the curtain, seemingly finally finished up a light layer of make up. She wore an off the shoulder light pink dress that touched the floor, decorated with a faint floral design with a part of the fabric worked as a strap around her waist. Her brown hair was styled in a way where it cascaded down her back and her blue eyes shone brighter than they ever had before. Additionally, she had also been crowned with a series of flowers that resembled what royalty of the garden must have worn.
“You look like a princess!” Asteria exclaimed as she hugged her sister tight. Being careful not to ruin the look. When it came to Ace however, she was having a very hard time functioning
“Oh no…” Asteria internally whined “He's hot...”
Now, you won't ever hear Asteria say it out loud, but she had always, just the teensiest bit, found Ace cute. Though that was usually overshadowed by the fact that he was a major troublemaker. That blasted smirk of his often spelt trouble. But seeing him in that suit with his bangs pulled back from his forehead…
Asteria cleared her throat, “You look good yourself, plaid suits you.”
“I suppose you’re right.” Ace admitted as he looked at his appearance in a mirror.
“The outfits are imbued with ancient magic.” Sam explained. “Something about looking extra-attractive especially when it comes to ghosts. You also get some bonus swag with these outfits, consolation bouquets!”
“Ooh La La!” Rook exclaimed, easily impressed, “They are as colorful as they are lovely!”
“These are no ordinary bouquets.” Sam pointed out, “Their blooms draw sustenance from negative emotions. Absorbing sorrows and grudges, the types of feelings that fuel a ghosts power. Should cover all bases for you little imps!”
Ace seemed pleased, “With this arsenal, that bride’s heart is as good as mine.”
Epel looked a bit more confident “I’m starting to think I could actually pull this proposal off!”
“Just remember one little thing imps.” Sam caught their attention. “Only the circle of severance can actually send the ghost bride on to the afterlife. Your success entirely depends on getting that ring on her finger.”
“Her ghost retainers will especially be vigilant this hour.” The headmage added. “If you fail to act genuine with your act, you won’t make it through the door.”
“It won’t be an issue as long as we use our time wisely.” Riddle pointed out. “I’ll prove I’m the picture-perfect prince.”
Rook sounded just as passionate, “I too shall expend every effort to spin words of love and affection. I’m sure with sufficient sincerity she’ll know much I care.”
“I’ll capture her heart I just know it!” Epel claimed proudly
“I’ll make sure this is wrapped up in no time.” Ace spoke without a care in the world.
“It’s now or never.” Asteria wrapped a comforting arm around her sister.

The Lord of the Underworld and His Lady of Spring Part 5
Tumblr media
Back at Styx headquarters, the tests and examinations are about to begin, but first, Riddle, Vil, Azul, Jamil, and Leona learn a bit more about Styx and its operations in this addition to the HPHM x Twisted Wonderland AU!
“Ugh,” Vil groaned once he and the other boys were placed in their subject uniforms and collars, “Excuse me Idia but why must we be sprayed down with a GLORIFIED GARDEN HOSE!? And you didn’t even offer moisture! What kind of place is this?”
Jamil sighed, “Now I know what it’s like to be a car going through a car wash.”
“Or a set of sheets in the washer and dryer.” Riddle added, crossing his arms.
“And then it had the audacity to spray into my ears.” Leona groaned, “I’m still squicked out from that.”
“Normally I’d prize efficiency.” Azul admitted, “But that crosses the line!”
“Really!?” Ortho exclaimed, “All the staff love it! They say it makes showers take no time at all.”
“I say it is quite refreshing.” Helena seconded Ortho.
“Of course Idia’s mindless girlfriend would say that.” Leona groaned.
“I see these chokers have the same effect as my signature spell.” Riddle observed, “I haven’t been able to perform any type of magic.”
“Sorry about that.” Ortho apologized, “It is for everyone’s safety and for the sake of accurate data collection.”
“Wait.” Idia’s eyes widened, “Riddle’s been trying to use magic, we can’t take our eyes off of any of them…” he cleared his throat, “Ahem, anyways not that you have been decontaminated, here is a short welcome video for Styx, Ortho play the tape!”
“Already on it!” Ortho cheered
~~~
Leona turned to Idia once the film finished, “So what horrific experiments do you have in mind?”
Idia chuckled menacingly, “First I’m going to strap you so you can’t move, then examine you with a bunch of probes, to score some sweet data about stress and the build up of blot.”
“Wha…” Riddle looked horrified.
“Idia!” Helena scolded him, “Don’t scare them like that!”
“Surely these normies didn’t think I was serious.” Idia shot back, “Can’t they get a joke?”
“In all fairness it wasn’t remotely funny.” Azul pointed out.
“They are right.” Ortho agreed, “Idia they are already upset! We shouldn’t make it worse!”
“At least Ortho and Helena exhibit some compassion.” Vil sighed.
“Besides.” Ortho enlightened Idia, “Raising the levels of stress won’t give us accurate results.”
“Never mind, I take that back.” Vil quickly remarked, “Ortho is just like his brother.”
“The point is.” Ortho explained, “You are all highly valuable since you didn’t get consumed by the phantom when you all overblotted.”
“What are phantoms?” Vil asked.
“When you overblot, the excess blot spills out and takes a giant form, aka the faceless monsters that appeared behind you.” Idia revealed and waited in silence before continuing. “Those are phantoms. You were not yourselves then so it’s hard to know how much any of you registered. But when you overbloted you could extend your reserves because of those phantoms. What normally is a debuff becomes a buff! Which is why eventually the phantoms consume their victims if people don’t step in.”
“They were quite large, all of them.” Helena added, “I recall them quite clearly when me and my sister were helping bringing you back down to earth.”
“Most of the time we can capture the phantoms but some can blend in with direbeasts.” Idia continued.
“I knew the basics of that but the extended version is hard to believe.” Azul admitted.
“Thing is, only capable mages can overblot.” Idia pointed out. “About as rare as rolling 4 SSRs on a single ten pull! Yet despite that there were five overblots in a single semester!
“So we were brought for research…” Jamil took note of the obvious. “Were you the one who issued the order Idia?”
“Uhh…” Idia stammered,
“That is classified information!” Ortho shouted.
“Let’s just say Styx has scouts all over the world...” Helena simplified for the boys.
"Wait…" Vil's eyes widened, "Does that mean you are trying to use blot!?”
“It’s not that surprising.” Idia sighed. “Sustainability is a hot topic right now and blot could be the answer, when it comes to magic that is. We consider Blot a valuable reason rather than a waste product. And we gotta recycle what we can right?”
Jamil’s eyes narrowed, “An energy resource huh.”
“That is how you are justifying kidnapping.” Leona growled. “Real noble operation you guys got here.”
“I know you are all mad.” Ortho observed, “But none of you want to overblot again right? Or to be manipulated by a phantom? Accepting our help can allow to prevent that.”
“Indeed.” Helena seconded, “Styx HQ has the best labs in the world. The readings are accurate and detailed.”
Vil eyed them closely, “What an enticing sales pitch, Azul should take notes. But what’s the catch? If we don’t participate you won’t let us leave?”
“Look, listening will get you out of here easy.” Idia doges the question, “Let’s just start with the paperwork, and make it snappy we don’t have all day.”
~~~
Idia sighed, “That took so long, can’t believe they nick picked every detail. But at least that’s done. Everything else is set up as well. Now to split the subjects into two teams. We can start with Subjects A, C, and E, and then transition into testing Subjects B and D.” He turned to Riddle, Azul, and Vil, “Ortho will take you to the sim room.” Then he turned to Jamil and Leona, “Wait here until your tests begin. Helena and I are going to step out but use the intercom if you need anything.”
“Yo acting director.” Leona spoke casually, “can we at least get a snack menu?”
“Ugh.” Idia groaned, “Classic Leona, but that is not an option.” He finished before walking out of the room with Helena by his side, with Leona only continuing to mutter what were surely insults.
“Acting Director.” One of the Charon guards approached, “What shall Subject F’s examination be? The medical team reports he is still asleep.”
“Subject F…” Idia recalled, “Ah yes, Grim. I’m afraid the kitty has too many variables. And his command of magic is rather mediocre, running him through sims might be a waste of time.”
“Let him sleep for now.” Helena requested, “And let me and the Acting Director know the second he awakens.”
“Roger.” The guard confirmed, before leaving to fulfill his orders.
“Let’s go Helena.” Idia turned to her, “We need to get to HQ, Ortho likely has the guys all ready in the Simulation Room, and we shouldn’t keep him waiting…”

Third Time’s A Charm Part 3
In this continuation of the HPHM x Twisted Wonderland, the group finally makes it inside. Yet every turn they make as they get closer to the cafeteria, they are constantly surrounded by ghosts who have sworn to protect their princess, leading to tough decision. As always, Helena belongs to me and Asteria belongs to @princess-of-pearls-and-stars
Tumblr media
“Well we are through the gate!” Epel proclaimed as the turned the corner in a hallway, stopping to all catch their breath. How they made it into the school, Helena was clueless but grateful. “But those ghosts just keep reviving…”
Ace was sweating but didn’t show tiredness like the others, “Let’s go!” He ordered, “We can’t stop now! We got to get to the cafeteria and stop this crazy ghost bride before Riddle burns the school down.”
“Watch out.” Riddle cried out, blocking another blast of magic from harming the group.
“Housewarden!” Ace called, noticing that such an act of protection was not treating the protector well.
“That was too close…” Helena murmured to herself.
“We would have been toast in Riddle didn’t deflect it.” Epel noted simultaneously.
“What a petty trick!” A ghost insulted them.
His partner seemed quite as frustrated, “We won’t let you scoundrels ruin the princess’ wedding! We will capture all of you frauds soon enough.”
Riddle stomped forward, “You have some nerve talking about ruining things when you are the ones who seized the school!”
“My word…” the second ghost swiftly spoke, “Despite his small stature he has a tremendous presence.”
“Don’t back down!” The first ghost ordered firmly, “We will show him and his little buddies how terrifying ghosts can be!” He finished as more ghosts appeared, taking note to circle Riddle so he could not escape with ease.
“Ack!” Epel exclaimed, “That ain’t good!”
“Leave me!” Riddle shouted his final request. “I’ll hold them off, the rest of you go and make sure we succeed. Remember as long as one of us makes it, we can beat these ghosts!”
“He’s got a point.” Asteria realized.
“But there’s so many ghosts and only one of you!” Helena pointed out with a worried look.
“We’re in this mess because of me, accept this as an apology.” Riddle pleaded as he shot beams of magic and enchanted flower petals at the ghosts, “I must take responsibility” Riddle gave them an assuring smile, “You don’t have to worry about me, just who do you think I am?”
“He’s right.” Ace smiled. “Heartslabyul’s Housewarden has got this in the bag.”
“But…” Epel tried to argue but it was no use.
“We need to believe him.” Helena insisted.
“And he is right.” Asteria added, “We are running out of time, we must press on.”
“That’s the spirit!” Riddle cheered them on. “We will meet again!”
~~~
“Hold it right there!” A series of ghosts ordered once the group reached the landing of the largest staircase.
Epel had a shocked look on his face, “These retainers keep multiplying!”
Rook sighed, “They are most serious about this, they have waited five hundred years for this wedding after all.”
“Ragh!” Ace preformed a battle cry as he struck the ghosts with another spell. “Don’t act sympathetic to them!” He scolded Rook, “These ghosts are nothing but a nuisance!”
“A nuisance you say?” Rook raised his eyebrows, “I suppose, but don’t you find their fervor admirable?”
“I’m too busy running from them to admire them!” Ace reminded him in a loud tone.
Rook continued with his usual eccentricities, “We all have things we won’t yield. I know quite well what it means to fight for such a cause. In fact… my desire to protect you all is just as fervent!” He then turned to look at the rest of the group, “May I bid that the rest of you go on without me?”
“What!?” Ace exclaimed with widened eyes. “If you were as good as our Housewarden maybe, but there’s no way-“
Suddenly Epel tug on his arm, “Ace, let’s go.”
“You jumped on that real quick!” Ace remarked.
“You trust your Housewarden right? Well I trust my Vice Housewarden.” Epel explained himself, “See the look on his face?”
“What about it?” Ace raised an eyebrow
“Heh heh heh.” Rook chuckled almost like a madman would as he gazed at the ghosts, “I’ve long wondered how one would hunt a ghost. You have no bodies, but would you solidify if I used magic in you? Or would you become mere mist? Could I trap you in a bottle?”
That last statement certainly offended the ghosts, “You want to BOTTLE us?! This guy is creeping me out!”
Rook narrowed his eyes with a smug smile, “Oh, how my hunter’s blood sings when I am faced with an unknown quarry!”
“Eek!” Another ghost shrieked, “Stay away!”
“So Rook wants to act like a freaky ghost hunter?” Helena quietly observed, “I guess that is one way to get the job done.”
Asteria shrugged her shoulders, “I don’t think ghost hunter sounds as good as ghost buster but to each their own.”
Ace only snickered followed by a full on laugh, “Protect us? Yeah right, he looks like a kid in a candy store!”
“Exactly.” Epel nodded, “Rook will be just fine. I hate to say it but he is stronger than any of us here. Riddle would have been the only one who could probably best him you know.”
Grim seemed displeased, “I’ll admit he’s strong, but I don’t want to go anywhere near him, especially when he is acting like that.”
Ace scratched the back of his head, “Rook is kind of an odd duck.”
“Less judging more running!” Asteria ordered.
“Asteria, Helena?” Rook called out softly before they departed. “Take care of them.”
~~~
The group managed to get to the hallway that led to the Cafeteria with no sight of ghosts. But it was clear that they wouldn’t have much time of peace.
“Riddle and Rook are out of the picture.” Grim reminded the group rather unnecessarily, “Now we just have Ace and Epel. Guess that shows there ain’t no one more dependable than me?”
“You!? Dependable!?” Helena laughed, “That’s a good one!” Responded to be frustrated growls from Grim.
“Helena’s right, I’ll show you I can be dependable.” Epel declared, he then turned to Ace, “Let’s show everyone that freshmen can pull their own weight.”
“Don’t fret we are almost-“ Ace started before a blast of magic went their way, “Woah! Looks like they found us!”
“Hmph.” The ghost observed, “You are a quick one aren’t you?”
“Are you ok Ace?” Asteria asked him, eyeing him up and down but luckily the blast’s edges didn’t have any harms.
Ace gave her a comforting smile, “Please, that lame spell was never going to hurt me!”
“These ghosts are quite quick!” Grim observed with an uncharacteristically nervous look.
“Get back!” Epel stepped forward boldly, “I’ll hold them off and then…wait what?” His eyes widened as rather than attacking the girls and himself, they were much more peaceful.
“Why are they turning away from us?” Helena observed, “They just attacked Ace? I was for sure they’d be hostile.”
“Princesses!” A ghost retainer called out, “You three must flee!”
“Three?” Epel seemed confused.
“You all have such wonderful features.” The ghost remarked, “Especially you with the lavender hair, you three must be here to attend the ceremony, yes?”
“Epel!?” Ace exclaimed, “Beautiful!?” And then bubbled with snickering laughter, being joined by Grim.
“With these wild and rambunctious suitors running around.” Another ghost took note. “Anyone as weak and frail as you all are in grave danger! Please stay behind us-“
“Ah yes,” Helena softly spoke as Asteria gritted her teeth with frustration, certainly acting the most like a princess out of the three of them, “We are damsels, we are in distress, we can handle this, have a nice day.”
Epel stepped forward in front of the girls, fuming, “Who… WHO ARE YA CALLING WEAK!?”
“Whoa!!” The ghosts backed up.
“Yikes!” Grin yelped, “He is like a whole other person!”
One of the ghosts eyed Epel, “Quite assertive aren’t you… Wait a minute! The lavender haired one! That was definitely a boys voice!”
“Seize him!” The other ghost declared as the ghosts duplicated, “Seize him at once!”
“Keep going guys!” Epel ordered with confidence.
“Come again!?” Ace finally regained his stature, “There’s no way you can deal with that many ghosts!”
“They called us weak and frail!” Epel reminded him bluntly. “And I am going to make them regret that!”
“Epel…” Ace tried again, before Asteria gently pulling his arm stopped him.
“He is going to be fine.” Asteria gave Ace a comforting smile.
“We need to trust him.” Helena agreed before moving her hand to symbolize motion, “Come on!”
Ace chuckled, “Epel’s got a real competitive streak, doesn’t he?”
“Just get to the wedding!” Epel requested to his friends, then he turned to the ghosts, “As for y’all, I’ll show y’all who’s weak!”

Third Time’s A Charm Part 2
In part two of Third Time’s A Charm for me and @princess-of-pearls-and-stars HPHM x Twisted Wonderland AU. Here Riddle, Ace, Epel, Rook, Asteria, Helena, and Grim have finally made their way to the front doors of the school. However they are quickly informed that they must pass a test before going inside. Helena belongs to me while Asteria belongs to @princess-of-pearls-and-stars
Tumblr media
After what seemed like forever waiting near the entrance, Riddle finally broke the silence, “Why is Epel taking so long?”
“You think he got cold feet?” Ace suggested.
“Non, non” Rook assured them, “Monsieur Pommette would never behave in a cowardly manner. I am certain he will turn up any moment…”
And with that the group heard Epel’s voice cry out, “Guys!”
As everyone turned their heads Grim was the first to panic, “What’s charging at us through that dust cloud!?”
“Sorry for the wait!” Epel apologized as he came in riding on the back of the most majestically pure white horse. “It took a bit to get everything ready.”
“Why are you riding a horse!?” Ace question with a shocked look on his face.
“I see,” Helena realized, “It’s all apart of the princely suitor image. The fairytales where the man of the princess’s dream rides in to save the day, might be cliche but I’m sure the ghost bride will be pleased with such dedication. I really should learn to ride myself one day, to expand my horizons past brooms.”
“You are welcome to visit by the Equestrian Club.” Riddle offered politely. “In fact, this particular horse is one of the most uncooperative in the stables and yet it is on its best behavior, mark me impressed.”
“Heh.” Epel chuckled with a hint of embarrassment on his face, “You flatter me.”
“Are you all insane!?” Ace exclaimed, “What Prince in this century would do such a thing, I know Leona certainly would never! Come on! Someone back me up here!”
“I must agree with Roi Des Roses.” Rook pointed out, “The hard work, dynamism, ingenuity, and determination is simply admirable!”
“Dude, talk about overkill…” Ace continued.
“Chill out.” Asteria playfully punched him in the arm, “You’re outnumbered buddy.”
“Certainly.” Riddle agreed, “So are you finished griping Ace? We don’t have all night you know.”
“Three hours to be exact.” Rook elaborated.
“Oh I’M the distraction!?” Ace exclaimed.
“Here goes nothing…” Epel breathed, ignoring Ace and knocking on the door, being greeted by a ghost retainer.
“Hmm?” The ghost began to ponder.
“Bon soir.” Rook greeted the retainer like a gentleman. “We are with the true fiancee of the young man your lovely bride wishes to wed.”
“I know it’s unfortunate circumstances.” Helena seemed to play the role of a fiancee simply perfectly, “But I have brought along four of my best men to act as replacements if your lovely bride will allow them a chance.”
“So this is the reason for all the suitors.” The ghost theorized, “True fiancee or not, our princess is fed up with this nonsense and will wed the man of her choice. Regardless of the stream of insolent louts who come knocking. I have orders to not let anyone pass, remove yourselves at once!”
“You are going to let your princess steal the man of another without giving those who seek her heart a chance!?” Asteria exclaimed in a furious and frustrated tone.
“Indeed, are you sure you wish that?” Epel pleaded to the retainer, “You will sorely regret not giving us a chance.”
“Is that right?” The ghost eyed them closely. “You sound quite sure of yourself. Fine, you four will be tested, act as if I’m the princess and propose to me, along with this rightful fiancee you have with you and her…handmaiden? Anyways, If you succeed I might allow you to pass.”
“Ahem.” Epel cleared his throat, stepping forward once Helena and Asteria awkwardly stood next to the ghost retainer. The lavender haired boy carefully took one of Helena’s hands and looked into her eyes with soft features, “I swear that I will always make you happy . I shall be the horse-mounted Prince who gallops to the rescue when my lady love is in distress! No matter what trouble may arise, I will never give up or walk away. I’ll protect you from all that could harm you. I know I’m a prince worthy of you princess! Please… will you marry me?”
“My goodness.” The ghost retainer breathed. “What an earnest gaze, not to mention you’re actually riding a white horse! How utterly princely!” The retainer turned his gaze on the others, “You the one with auburn hair, are you one of this young prince’s retainers?”
Ace sounded quite offended to Asteria’s enjoyment, “ME? A Retainer to Epel? Who did you think the other eligible guy was!? Never mind.” Ace seemed to regain his cool the second his gaze turned to Grim ever so briefly, “That is funny, as if I’m anything like these other guys.”
“Alright then.” The retainer acted disinterested, “Let’s see your proposal.”
Ace immediately went over to stand in front of Asteria, though he immediately forgot the proposal he had rehearsed before the group left for the school, just like Riddle warned he would. Yet he tried to improvise as he looked into Asteria’s eyes that shined like sapphires
“Every day will be a blast if you marry me.” Ace began with pure confidence. “And yeah when two people are together long enough they are going to have a couple of spats, but I promise to always apologize. When the going gets tough, you can snuggle up with me, and I’ll always put a smile on your face.” Ace stopped for a moment, remembering how Asteria acted in her early days in Twisted Wonderland, trying to mask her homesickness, especially in front of her sister, “You don’t have to hide behind ‘I’m fines’ and ‘I’m okays’ when you feel sad or scared. You can talk to me about whatever troubles you and I’ll attentively listen to every single word. I’m the right prince for you princess so please, don’t bother looking at the other guys, marry me!” Finishing off with presenting her a rose, something that Riddle stated would come in handy for some reason, and perhaps he understood why a little better now.
Asteria stared at Ace, speechless and touched by his words. Despite the whole proposal being meant for the Ghost Bride in a plot meant to free Idia, he sounded so genuine that a tear running down her cheek and Asteria knew for sure she was lost in her own little world, even after he took a few steps back to hear about his efforts from the ghost guard before reporting back to where the others stood.
“You good sis?” Asteria heard her sister whisper into her ear.
“Yeah why?” Asteria whispered back, not taking her eyes off Ace.
“You are blushing up a storm.” Helena pointed out quietly with a chuckle.
“How could you not with these proposals…” was all Asteria could say.
“What a genuine display!” The ghost retainer cheered, “It is clear you want to make your partner happy. And to think you were just a mere retainer, I sincerely apologize!”
“It was certainly very you.” Riddle pointed out, “But it won’t matter in the end when the princess picks me.”
“Then go ahead.” The ghost retainer waved his ghostly hand, “You are next.”
~~~
“I swear my loyalty to you!” Riddle proclaimed. “Come what may I promise I will never doubt you not will I hurt you. For you, I would do anything in my power. Would you give me your hand in marriage?”
“How convincing,” The ghost exclaimed with wide eyes.
“He’s right!” Epel energetically agreed, “That was so captivating!”
“Pretty earnest yourself there Housewarden.” Ace simply smirked.
“C-cut it out guys.” Riddle stammered with a red face, similar yet different to how he looked like when he was fuming, although he wasn’t doing any of the sort.
The ghost then turned to Rook, “Let’s see if you have what it takes to top those three proposals.”
“Mon tresor, I implore you to allow me to be your eternally devoted love, I have wrote a poem in your honor: Ill fated princess of yore… Lo, how you make my heart soar… Oh, your cold face streaked with tears… Vibrant warmth I’d share for years… Eyes of azure, misty and strong… You’ll find I’ll dry them ere long… Once I’ve caught your clear eyed gaze… Undying love, yours always…”
“Whoa…” Epel breathed
“Dude just hearing that made me feel like I was going to blush.” Ace claimed.
“It was certainly a wondrous work of craftsmanship.” Helena added.
Riddle’s suspicious look that only Asteria seemed to notice quickly turned to realization as he looked at the others, “Wait you guys, try putting the first letter of each line together!”
“The first letters?” Epel raised an eyebrow.
“As if I bothered to memorize any of that.” Grim rolled his eyes with disinterest.
“I should’ve have written it down.” Riddle muttered, seemingly frustrated, “But I will enlighten you. Once you put all the first letters together, they spell ‘I love you’”
“WHAT!?” Asteria, Ace, Epel, and Grim all exclaimed in unison.
Helena chuckled awkwardly moving a lose strand of hair behind her ear, “I thought that detail was obvious?”
“I am pleased Roi des Roses and Dame du Jardin took note of that.” Rook beamed.
“But how-“ Asteria tried to ask.
“I am a crossword expert myself.” Riddle explained. “It is something you pick up on when looking at the words.”
“And Talbott taught me a thing or two about poetry last year.” Helena reminded Asteria.
“I think these Pomefiore guys are just a bunch of weirdos.” Grim still didn’t seem impressed based on his tone.
“All?” Epel sounded quite offended, “Let’s take it easy now.”
Rook certainly had more to present as he continued to speak, “Oh, was that enough for you? Then let me present my next composition.” He cleared his throat then continued, “Alas in my chest’s a whole, left from when my heart you stole. With that I could turn back time, and escape this love sublime. Yet there is no other way, save from going astray.”
“ALRIGHT ENOUGH!” The ghost retainer shouted. “You’re wild about her! I heard you loud and clear.” He then turned to Helena in particular, “I see that the four gentlemen you have presented to me are nothing like the reckless oafs who came previously.”
“Great.” Riddle gave a satisifed smile, “So we can enter and allow the guy the ghost bride is about to wed his rightful love and take his place?”
“You didn’t let me finish.” The ghost pointed out. “You see, there is one small matter.”
“And what is that?” Helena asked.
“The Prince you brought, the red haired one and gray eyes.” The ghost explained, “He is much too short.”
As Riddle’s eyes narrowed Ace began to plead, “Housewarden, stay cool! He doesn’t appreciate what a swell guy you are! Talk about a rube am I right?” He awkwardly chuckled but it didn’t seem to lighten the atmosphere to his dismay.
“HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO ME THAT WAY!” Riddle shouted at what had to have been his maximum volume. “OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!!!”
“Pardon!?” The ghost exclaimed as a heart shaped collar appeared on him, courtesy of Riddle’s signature spell
“You shall burn you insolent fool!” Riddle proclaimed as he cast a spell featuring intense amounts of flames. Causing the ghost to retreat from them.
“Magnificent flames, Riddle!” Rook cheered “They achieved their goal straight away!”
Riddle groaned, “How much longer must I endure these jabs? Men grow well into their twenties! I’ve got time left.”
“Regardless I don’t see why this bride is a stickler for height.” Asteria shook her head. “Must be a ghost thing.”
Ace scratched the back of his head, “Sounds like you looked up that fact yourself Housewarden. Has this been bothering you?”
“Not at all!” Riddle scoffed, “What bothers me is people who judge simply based on appearance.”
“I get that, trust me.” Epel noted, “But if we use loud and flashy magic like that then.” He then stopped what he was saying when three more ghosts emerged, curious and concerned about the commotion, “that will happen!”
“Let’s catch these troublemakers.” One of the ghosts proclaimed as they all tried to cast a variety of spells.
"Way to go dude!" Ace exclaimed, annoyed and furious with Riddle, “You are the lousiest suitor ever with that fierce temper of yours.”
Riddle didn’t even have the energy to snap back, “What have I done…”
The Lord Of The Underworld And His Lady of Spring Part 7
Asteria, Rook, and Epel finally find their way to the Island of Woe. However when they meet with Idia, they start to realize something is going on behind the scenes. As always for this AU, Asteria belongs to @princess-of-pearls-and-stars
Tumblr media
Asteria watched as Rook took a breath of fresh air, “Warm Sun… Clear Skies… What prime flying weather this is!”
“Totally…” Epel replied absent mindedly
“Are you alright?” Rook looked concerned.
“Yes.” Epel reassured him, “I am just floored your family’s villas were spectacular!”
“You are both always welcome to pop by for a visit.” Rook invited them.
Asteria smiled, “I would love to visit them again.”
“Not a problem at all, I could even invite the whole NRC Tribe!” Rook declared, “I would just have to let my siblings know in advance with specific dates.”
“I didn’t know you had siblings.” Epel remarked, “How many do you have Rook.”
“Five.” Rook casually responded, “Two older and three younger.”
“Isn’t six kids kind of a lot?” Epel assumed.
Asteria laughed, “If you think six is a lot try me and Helena’s twelve siblings.”
“I didn’t know you have so many siblings…” Rook breathed.
“Yeah…” Asteria smiled fondly “But without a way home… they are practically non existent minus Helena, and now she is gone to… I can’t lose her, if I can’t find a way for us to get home she is all I have left.”
“We will find her.” Epel comforted Asteria, “Luckily we are on the last stretch of our journey to the Island.”
“In fact.” Rook revealed, “It is about time for us to descend.” Rook led the charge, allowing Asteria and Epel to follow.
~~~
“Bonjour Islanders of Woe!” Rook greeted the guards who emerged dramatically warmly. “I am a seeker and defender of beauty! They call me Rook Hunt! Le Chasseur D’Amour! One of the people you abducted was my boon companion. Now I have come to rescue Vil Schoenheit from Mortal Peril!”
“Not the way I would have said it.” Asteria murmured to herself, “But you do you.”
“We have got a visual on the assailant.” One of the ferrymen reported, “Proceeding with capture of him and his two accomplices.”
“Ah!” Epel jumped and nearly fell off his broom. “It’s the armored guys that took Vil and the others!”
Rook turned to Epel and Asteria, “Listen up both of you. We will fight for a brief moment and then promptly surrender, our goal is not to win.”
“We want them to take us prisoner and bring us inside right?” Epel assumed the rest of the vice housewarden’s plan.
“Oui.” Rook nodded, “Seeing as we are at a tremendous disadvantage. But first let me secure us a battle field.” Rook declared, creating a large sheet of non slippery ice from the water below. “That should do.” Rook remarked as he landed on the ice with Epel and Asteria, “Now let the curtain rise on our battle for beauty and love!”
~~~
“Rgh they got me.” Rook declared defeat.
“Oh no.” Epel collapsed like he was on a script, “I can’t go on.”
“Alas…” Asteria also fake fainted, allowing them to be captured by the ferrymen and be brought to the island.
“Unbelievable…” Helena remarked as she watched the scene with Idia and Ortho from HQ on the monitor.
“Talk about wild…” Idia agreed with shock. “Night Raven College put out ANOTHER banner of SSR Troublemakers!?”
“Acting Director.” Etern looked at Idia, “What shall we do with the assailants? Sending them back to the school is an option.”
“But why did Rook Hunt and his group come after us.” Ortho wondered, his data certainly didn’t predict this. “It would be one thing if they brought the faculty or more students.
“Hepta team.” Idia called into the Charon guards, “Are any of Rook’s- I mean- the assailants carrying any trackers or communicators?”
“He only has a smartphone.” One of the trooper’s reported. “All three of their phones are turned off.”
“They disabled GPS themselves?” Helena assumed, “That seems quite foolish for a perilous journey. We aren’t next door to the school after all.”
“Remember what Rook said before the battle?” Ortho pointed out to Idia and Helena. “His words did not seem to apply to the abductions, Vil Schoenheit must be in a different sort of peril.”
“But what else could it be?” Idia raised an eyebrow, “None of his results or the data suggest such.”
“Perhaps a well hidden physical or mental stress?” Ortho suggested. “He is a celebrity after all and they are none to keep quite a lot of secrets.”
“That wouldn’t explain the records.” Idia reminded him, “There is no way we could have skipped over something crucial.” He sighed, “The rule of this island is to return people to where they came from, alive. I will hear what Rook’s group has to say. And the River Lethe’s existence means it doesn’t matter when we send them back. Ortho, transport Rook’s group to the Hecate Sector via the monorail.”
“Roger.” Ortho accepted the task. “Opening the Oceanus Gate!”
~~~
Asteria was taken out of her amazement of the underwater city when she heard a familiar voice, “Seriously guys… this isn’t a video game, you don’t respawn IRL. Remember that the next time you want to do something so boneheaded. You’re lucky I’m in charge right now, or you three would most certainly perish. And certainly not some tourist attraction.” He scolded them, particularly Rook and Epel who were taking in the majestic island
Idia was dressed in some sort of uniform in dark blue clothing. Next to him were two guards, Ferrymen as Malleus and Lilia called them earlier. Additionally, a few steps behind were Ortho and Helena. Asteria internally breathed a sigh of relief seeing her sister, while also noticing her in a similar, if not identical uniform to the one Idia wore. And for some reason, her glasses had a pinkish red tint to them.
“Helena!” Asteria called out, “Thank goodness you are alright, how are Grim and the others.”
"That is classified information" Helena spoke in a restrained, almost pre-programmed matter.
“And on another note.” Idia continued before Asteria could speak again, “You can’t just roll up on your brooms like ‘Me and the Gang Looking For Classmates’”
“Chill out.” Helena hissed, “it’s not their fault they have multiple screws loose in their brains.”
“Whoa…” Epel softly exclaimed, “So it’s true, Idia really is here.”
“The Roi Des Dragons spoke the truth.” Rook added to Epel’s statement “Goodness… I truly am shocked.”
“That makes two of us.” Idia shrugged while Asteria was growing in frustration that there was more surprise with Idia rather than her sister, “What do you three want? How did you get here?”
“Before we answer that.” Rook requested, “May I have confirmation about something? Are those who were abducted safe?”
“The location is classified but they are all fine.” Helena repeated for her boyfriend.
“Wonderful!” Rook exclaimed, “I was getting so worried I thought I’d burst.”
“Why did you follow us if you know you couldn’t stop the Ferrymen?” Idia asked tiredly.
“You see,” Rook explained, “Vil is in mortal peril.”
“Mortal peril?” Ortho repeated in a confused tone, “My searches indicate this is a state of grave danger involving the risk of death.” Ortho then turned to look at Rook, “Is Vil Schoenheit afflicted with something that endangers his life?”
“At this point no.” Rook confirmed, “We simply want to avert a grave crisis. I simply want my dear friend to be safe. Could one of you deliver this to him?” Rook asked as he extended the bottles of skincare products
Idia examined the contents first, “These bottles don’t look like medicine.”
Ortho suddenly performed a robotic scanning, “Scanning in progress… Main Ingredients: Water, Vitamin C, Collagen, Essential Oils…”
“Wait…” Helena looked at the bottles before looking at Rook, “Are these…?”
“Indeed!” Rook exclaimed, “These are dear Vil’s skincare products!”
“THEY’RE NOT LIFE SAVING MEDICINES!?” Idia shouted with surprise. “It’s really just a bunch of creams and stuff? Not even attempting to smuggle a dangerous potion to help them break out?”
“I’ve scanned the entire set.” Ortho pointed out, “There are no corrosive fluids or toxic ingredients. They appear to be genuine homemade skincare products.”
“Dude…” Idia breathed, “I don’t even know where to start…”
“Agreed.” Helena stated, “Skincare products are not something to be risking your lives over.”
“How can you say that Dame Du Jardin!?” Rook exclaimed in a shocked tone. “While you are right that there is nothing more sacred than life. Some of us hold aesthetics in a high regard and are easily willing to stake our lives on them.”
“Ah tell ya! It’s bad when Vil skips one of his daily routines!” Epel snapped, slipping into his country accent.
“We have ears no need to shout.” Idia rolled his eyes, “So that’s it? No other demands?”
“Oui!” Rook confirmed.
“Wow…” Ortho breathed, “Attacking the Island of Woe just to deliver skincare products. Even with Styx’s supercomputer system your behavioral patterns are impossible to predict.”
Helena shrugged her shoulders, “That’s the guys of Pomefiore for you.”
Idia took a deep breath, “Ok I get why Rook and Epel are here, at least in theory. But that doesn’t explain why the main prefect of Ramshackle dorm tagged along. Are you delivering something to your sister? Or perhaps delivering some cat food or tuna?”
“I just want to talk with them.” Asteria insisted with a firm tone.
Idia only laughed, “Sorry, must have had a chunk of brimstone wedged in my ear or something.
“Asteria is simply here to retrieve her dorm members.” Rook explained.
“I wasn’t actually asking you to repeat.” Idia rolled his eyes, “Don’t any of you understand the language of sarcasm. Never mind, unlike you guys we are very busy and have better things to do than listen to speeches about friendship.”
“Should we ship them back to Night Raven College then?” Ortho proposed
“I’d like to but.” Was the only thing Asteria personally could hear audibly before Idia pulled Ortho and Helena closer to him and began to whisper about something.
“Okay Rook Hunt, Epel Felmier, and Asteria Othonos.” Ortho began after the huddle between the three finished. “Follow me.”
“Sure,” Rook agreed, “But can we at the very least get a glimpse of the others?”
“No contact is allowed until the tests are complete.” Ortho stated once more. “You can see them after that, just be patient.”
“Very well, suppose we should be grateful for being allowed to stay at all.” Rook admitted defeat.
“So uh.” Idia began, “Helena and I will be reporting back to HQ and Ortho will escort you to your room. Just don’t get any funny ideas. Later.”
“Idia wait!” Rook called out.
“Was there something else?” Idia asked over his shoulder. “You are forgetting Vil’s skincare products, will you make sure for certain he gets them.”
Idia sighed as he grabbed the box, “Fine, but after the tests are done.”
“Merci, Roi de sa Chambre!” Rook cheered.
Idia sighed again, putting a few fingers to his head and muttered “I swear you are so exhausting.”
Suddenly, a thing that looked almost like the horseless black carriages, except with bat wings and red front lights, back at Hogwarts arrived. Although rather than traveling along the ground with wheels, it flew in the air as if being levitated. Idia boarded the contraption without a second thought, along with Helena and a Styx guard, before they left the group’s sight.
“What did they do to you Lena…” Asteria whispered under her breath and luckily for her it didn’t seem like anyone heard her desperate question.
“Whoa!” Epel exclaimed, “What was that thing they took off in?! It was super rad!”
“That was a Styx Made technomatic vehicle.” Ortho helpfully explained, “We call them chariots. These machines are the most effective way to get around the Island of Woe.”
“The architecture reminds me of the ruins in the Land of Heroes.” Rook pointed out.
“Legend has it that the Island of Woe actually used to be apart of the Land of Heroes.” Ortho revealed.
“So these buildings are historic relics!?” Rook realized with wide eyes, “That is remarkable!”
“What’s that giant pillar in the middle?” Asteria asked Ortho, sensing it had to do something with Helena, Grim, and the others.
“It connects Oceanus Gate, the entrance you came through to Styx’s headquarters.” Ortho elaborated. “It goes way deeper than one would presume. That is where the phantoms are buried, in an asleep and frozen state. I’ll warn you though, don’t go over there, even if you are curious. You wouldn’t want to end up like me.”
Rook seemed to sense the eerie feeling Ortho’s final words brought, “Monsieur Marionette? What’s the matter?”
“Nothing!” Ortho assured them, “Just pointing out the dangerous parts of the island and reminding you to not wander around like tourists. Now follow me, I’ll take you three to where you will be staying until the tests are over and the subjects have recovered.”
