1953 Thomas Special Coupe
The '53 Thomas Special Coupe was the third of Chrysler's "Idea Cars" designed by Virgil Exner and built by Ghia in the 1950s. The first was the 1951 K-310 coupe, which was followed by the C-200 convertible in 1952 and the Thomas Special Coupe in 1953. All three cars were built on the New Yorker chassis and used New Yorker drivetrain components including the 331-cubic-inch "FirePower" Hemi V-8 and three-speed Powerflight automatic transmission.
Chrysler's Idea Cars were commissioned by Chrysler president K.T. Keller to compete against styling coming from GM's Harley Earl and Bill Mitchell and even out of Ford's postwar designers. The Thomas Special certainly turned heads with its dramatic squared-off fenders and sculpted hood. It received such praise that Chrysler considered putting the car into production. Ultimately, the car never reached production, but Chrysler had six examples produced and Ghia liked the design so much it produced another 12 for itself….( Motor Trend)

Upgrade #1- Cold air intake
Installing a cold air intake system is one upgrade you can make to improve the performance of your Dodge RAM 1500. Cold air intake, as is evident from the name as well, is a system designed to feed the engine with cold dense air. Review: All-New 2025 Dodge Charger
The 2025 Dodge Charger design is the clearest indication that electric vehicles are on the rise. Electrifying one of the most powerful muscle cars is a massive undertaking, but it has significant performance benefits. The next-generation Charger will most likely be based on Stellantis' future big electric vehicle platform, which is expected to provide up to 500 miles of range.
Of course, increasing the performance to Hellcat levels will probably result in a lesser range estimate. Speaking of which, Dodge has not revealed much about the new Charger's powertrain, but a YouTube teaser video for the concept car shows the car performing a four-wheel burnout. A gasoline-powered vehicle is also expected, however it will most likely be driven by a twin-turbo inline-six rather than a Hemi V-8.
The new car's style pays homage to classic Challenger and Charger models, as does the return of the Fratzog emblem, which appeared on Dodge vehicles in the 1960s and 1970s. Unlike the outgoing version, the new Charger will be a two-door coupe with a liftback trunk. To ensure that it keeps to Dodge brand standards, the Charger Daytona SRT concept has a unique chambered exhaust system that is said to mimic the sound of the outgoing supercharged V-8 SRT Hellcat model.
The next-generation Charger will be a whole new vehicle in the Dodge portfolio when it goes on sale, most likely for the 2025 model year. It's set to make its official debut in late 2024, but a social media post from Dodge has given us a sneak peek at what the production car will look like.
A four-door variation may also join the roster, but we won't know anything about either until closer to debut. That timing appears to be approaching rapidly, as a reader photographed a production-ready test car on the road near Dodge's headquarters in Michigan.
Dodge has not said how many engines will power the 2019 Charger's various trims, but the entry-level 340 model is expected to produce 455 horsepower, while the mid-range 440 model produces 590 horsepower. A high-performance version, dubbed SRT Banshee, will feature an all-wheel-drive 800-volt architecture, although the horsepower rating has yet to be released. We also know that, rather than a normal EV direct-drive system, the concept car has a multi-speed transmission.
This is not a novel notion; the Porsche Taycan provides something similar, and the configuration is intended to boost performance and range at greater speeds. It also offers the driver the sensation of a gear shift during rapid acceleration. An internal combustion engine is also likely to be supplied, and we believe it will be a derivative of parent firm Stellantis' new turbocharged inline-six known as the Hurricane.
The price of the 2025 Dodge Charger ranges from $50,000 to $90,000, depending on trim and extras. The new Charger is likely to cost more than previous gasoline-powered vehicles, although the values indicated below are only estimates. The 2025 Charger will most likely be available in a variety of trim levels, although only three are currently known.
The first two have the 340 and 440 labels to signify their horsepower in kilowatts. Dodge has also announced that the most powerful model will be dubbed SRT Banshee. When we have additional facts, we will update this story and make a recommendation on which model is the best value.
