Questions for OC Creators
Shamelessly stole this from @tarberrymentats‘ post because I’m always a sucker for behind-the-scenes character inspiration and meaning stuff, so if you steal this in turn, feel free to tag me!
(I’m also stealing Halk’s usage of lovely art by @yesjejunus for this one 🖤)

Agnes Sands, Courier Six of the Mojave Express
A) Why are you excited about this character?
Agnes was an opportunity to create what felt like a very unorthodox OC, and it’s an opportunity that has certainly paid off. She’s not young, and she’s not a particularly pleasant or easygoing person to be around, but she’s also not the endearingly tragic loner type or a badass army-of-one. She’s not “spunky” or “fun” and isn’t the kind of Fallout character who’s necessarily motivated to do every quest, meet every companion, accomplish every thing. She’s not an important person; being an important person is anathema to her, and the looming, overarching themes of It Keeps Right On a-Hurtin’ are these ideas of the hard limits on unlikely heroism, and how you really can’t fly that far on circumstance and luck. I’m very excited for everyone to see how it goes when the going gets tough.
Furthermore, the design and writing process for Agnes was very informed by finding justifications, reasons, and origins for all of her personality traits, skills, and various hang-ups. The result is a character that feels, to me, so deeply real and well-rounded and alive, that Agnes is a person who has lived every one of her 34 years of age, and that in each of those years were key developments that molded her into the person she is. When I write her, I feel like I know her because of how intimately I’ve researched and come to understand the life she’s led. I don’t want to say it comes effortlessly, but there’s a very genuine, sculpted depth to her character that I’m proud of, and it forms the bedrock of It Keeps Right On a-Hurtin’.
It is also very important to me that Agnes is a trans woman, and is a trans woman who looks the way she does with a strong jaw and a big nose and long face and a wide body and hairy arms and so many other “masculine” features, because I wanted to create a character with a very real, visceral, visible transness to them, and for this transness to be a meaningful part of her character that informs her relationship to other people and the scarce world of the Mojave Wasteland instead of just an auxiliary character trait. She is no less of a woman for existing the way she does, but I simply wasn’t interested in creating a character or interpreting the Mojave Wasteland in a way that wouldn’t meaningfully grapple with what it really feels like, to me, to be a trans woman.
B) What inspired you to create them?
Many of Agnes’ character traits actually come from mechanical and specialization decisions that I play in game. I often joke that Agnes “just plain sucks,” but it’s true that in my Fallout: New Vegas game, I have encumbrance set to a measly 25 lbs without backpacks (necessitating her shoulder-slung duffel bag), use a directional flashlight instead of the Pip-Boy light (necessitating the shoulder-mounted flashlight), play with dramatically decreased total S.P.E.C.I.A.L. and skill points per level (which is why she’s so bad-to-average at most things except key specialties), and so on. This was the most obvious level of inspiration, and much of Agnes’ personality and backstory is reverse-engineered to justify the aspects of her character suggested and represented by her mechanical stats.
C) Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story?
Epiphanies have come over time, but ultimately I more or less hammered out Agnes’ whole “story” upfront. I have a detailed character bible saved away that covers not only her entire life pre-courier, but the story beats of her experience as the courier thrown into the center of the events of Fallout: New Vegas and the seismic geopolitical power plays leading up to the second battle of Hoover Dam. So, uh, stay tuned for each new issue of IKROAH!
D) Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look?
I wouldn’t say that I’ve meant to meaningfully change her appearance over time, but as I’ve been working on the comic, I’ve simply gotten better at drawing and the result has been an Agnes that more consistently looks like how I want her to look. One deliberate change to her appearance has been that her hair is a lot fluffier and voluminous than it used to be, just because a few other peoples’ fanart of her would be like that and I really liked how it looked.
E) Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you?
Hard to say. Agnes has such a defensive, prickly, and particular personality and is so shy and anxious that she’s someone very hard to get along with in general, regardless of who you are. Cass could only ply her through a combination of drunken genuineness and total embarrassment that razor-cut right to her trauma. I don’t think I’d have the...audacious wherewithal to be that blunt with her if we’d just met. The best case scenario is that she imprints on me as a younger trans woman and feels compelled to look out for me because if there’s one soft spot she has, it’s that.
F) What do you feel when you think of your OC (pride, excitement, frustration, etc)?
Pride at the amount of work I’ve put into developing her and crafting her story so far, pride at how it’s been such a rewarding and enjoyable vehicle for getting so much better at art and writing since this summer, and occasionally sadness just because, man, I really let her fucking have it sometimes, huh.
G) What trait of theirs bothers you the most?
Her solitary lifestyle made it necessary to find a way to write Cass into the story, just so that there would be some more dialogue while she traveled. She has a lot of interpersonal flaws, her habit of going from totally reclusive and private to hollering mad with no steps in between would certainly be off-putting to me especially. She gets a bad, sad, crying kind of angry, and she doesn’t get there quick but she goes get there suddenly.
H) What trait do you admire most?
She has a dedication to her and a commitment to what she’s good at. She understands the value of stability, good work and a good job. Sometimes this value is so much to her that it keeps her stagnant, and she’s very much a person who’s stuck in their ways in so many regards, but there’s a resilience to her that may not be obvious at first, but that she simply wouldn’t have gotten this far or survived without.
I) Do you prefer to keep them in their canon universe?
Agnes’ story is so tailored to the source material of Fallout: New Vegas that I thought that transplanting her into other AUs would be difficult, but it’s actually been pretty seamless inserting her into the a modern AU with a few friends called Courier House, where instead of being a courier, she kept up her medical training and works as an EMT. That also spun off into a modern zombie AU, which is just fun and tragic in a lot of juicy ways.
I also have a lot of thoughts on an AU in which she makes it to the Commonwealth, in which she’d become Nick’s partner at the eventually-renamed Valentine and Sands Detective Agency, helping to solve cases of burglary and theft, B&E, and advises on various security concerns. She’d also get extremely invested in tracking down missing children. There are a lot of parallels and dramatic development potential between Agnes Sands and Nick Valentine that I’d kill for more time to explore one day.
J) Did you have to manipulate or exclude canon factors to allow them to create their character?
I didn’t have to, no, but I chose to and at least filled in some holes. My theory on transitional health care in the wasteland is all my own (the Followers are the primary manufacturer and distributor of hormones, which can be inefficiently synthesized from Auto-Docs so they’re not impossible to find but are considerably rare) and I’ve taken some liberties in the IKROAH canon so far for convenience, such as Primm never getting taken over by convicts and the Cassidy Caravans buyout offer being a letter at the Mojave Express instead of something she’d have had to get personally from Alice McLafferty later on. Expect a lot more little twists like this in the future.

BATIM SOL AU- School Daze Chap.6: The Boris Chapter
So as I was planing this story I kind of left out what Boris is doing while Alice and Bendy were at school. This is what made me pause the story for a while as I had to think of what Boris should do as he's not in school. After playing around some ideas I got one and soon the rest of the chapters started to come to me!
Enjoy!!
It was the following day, and after a good night sleep Alice started to feel better. She and Bendy grabbed their lunches and quickly dashed out the door for school. “Bye Boris!” Alice and Bendy yelled giving their wolf friend a hug before leaving the house and meeting up with their friends from school. Once they were gone, the wolf toon went inside the house and looked out the window waiting for Alice and Bendy to come back from school.
Which won’t be for another eight hours.
Henry and Linda looked at their wolf toon son looking out the window like a child waiting on their parents or a pet dog waiting for their owner to come home. Henry frowned feeling sorry for the poor wolf. Linda came in with two cups of coffee and looked to see Boris still looking at the window.
“Poor thing.” Linda whispered.
“Yeah.” Henry replied with a sigh. They felt guilty no school would take in the poor wolf, but would take in an angel and a demon in. Now Henry somewhat understood why Boris couldn’t get in, as for one he looks more animal like, and animals weren’t allowed in school, and arguing with a principle would just make things harder for Alice and Bendy to get in, so he stayed quiet and understood.
When Boris was first told, he didn’t mind at first, but just after two hours of Alice and Bendy being in school the sweet wolf toon started to get bored and would keep his eye on the window wondering when they will be home.
This left Henry and Linda to wonder how to help cheer up Boris and give him something too do. “You got any ideas, Henry?” Linda asked.
Henry sighed. “Nothing in mind. What about you?” He asked.
Linda sighed and shook her head. Henry sighed again as they kept an eye on Boris, drinking their coffee, and thinking of what to do. “Maybe I can bring him to work with me?” Linda suggested.
Henry faced his wife. “Are you sure your boss will allow him?” He asked. “I mean you work in a cafe, and food plus Boris equals chaos!”
Linda laughed. “Don’t worry Henry. I’ll make sure Boris eats nothing on my watch till lunch.” She promised. Henry was about to speak again, but Linda cut him off, and, even if he doesn’t give Boris a job, Mr. McNamara loves dogs, so Boris can spend time outdoors.” She explained. Henry gave a smile, at least if Boris doesn’t have a job at least he has something too do while Alice and Bendy are at school.
“Alright.” Henry sighed. Linda smiled and gave Henry a kiss on the cheek and went to tell Boris the news. Henry saw the wolves ears pick up when Linda told him he’d be going into work with her today. Boris gave his mother a big hug before giving her a big kiss on the cheek and thanking her as he went up to his room to get ready.
“I’d say he’s happy.” Linda chuckled walking back to her husband.
Henry laughed as well. “Yep.” He replied.
After breakfast, Linda got ready for work wearing her pale blue and white uniform that came with a dark blue bow tie. She tied her hair in a bun with a hair tie and walked downstairs seeing Boris happily ready to go. She ruffled Boris’s head and they both walked towards Linda’s car.
As they drove, Boris sunshine smile started to fade into a nervous frown. Linda took notice of this and put her hand in Boris’s. The wolf looked up at his mother who smiled at him. “Your going to be alright Boris. I promise.” She reassured.
Boris sighed. “I’m nervous if everyone would be scared of me.” He whispered.
Linda heard what he said and shook her head. “No one should be scared of you!” Boris turned to his mother figure and his smile became a bit wider. “If someone does have to say something, they should say it to me! Because no one calls any of my children names.”
“Thanks ma.” Boris replied.
“Always Boris.” Linda replied back. Boris took a deep breath to ease his nervousness on their way to the cafe. To cheer him up, Linda played some music from the radio, and it started to calm the wolf’s nerves.
The drive wasn’t too long and soon they got to the cafe. “Well here we are.” Linda announced. Boris got out of the car and soon sniffed the air smelling an aroma of delicious foods from pancakes to sandwiches.
“Everything smells so good here!” Boris beamed. His mouth drooling as the smell of food overwhelmed him. Soon Boris’s ears picked up when a man around 10 years younger then Linda came outside. He’d paused when he saw Boris right in front of him.
The wolf gave a small whimper and waved at the man. The man smiled and ruffled Boris’s head making the wolf smile. “Linda you weren’t kidding!” The man laughed.
Linda chuckled. “Boris this is Martin, Martin this is Boris.”
“H-hello.” Boris whispered waving.
Martin smiled and waved back. “Hello!” He beamed. Boris got to feel comfortable and sighed knowing things will be alright. Linda and Boris followed Martin inside the place and Boris smiled seeing the interior of the place. It had many white tables and booths, paintings were all over the wall, and the smell of food was stronger inside then outside.
“Wow! Everything smells so good!” Boris beamed.
“Thank you Boris.” Martin replied. “If you want to try anything let me know.” Boris nodded promising to order something for lunch later today.
Throughout the day, Boris just relaxed outside of the cafe listening to the music that played. He looked out the window to see Linda taking orders to people being seated. Boris smiled and got to color using the activity book. Boris giggled as he finished his activity book and went to look through it.
As he was drawing he saw a young man come by with a painting kit and easel. The man looked exactly like Martin, only younger probably around 18 or 20. The young man looked at Boris for a second, before flinching back.
The young man and Boris both jumped seeing the other. The young man walked closer to the wolf and poked his nose. “Wow either your alive or that’s a pretty cool Boris costume!” The man beamed.
Boris shook his head. “Not a costume! I’m 100% alive!” Boris beamed.
The man chuckled. “That’s so cool! How did you become real?” He asked. Boris got nervous and stepped away from the man. Boris never want to bring up how Joey brought him, Bendy and Alice to life. Its just a sour memory now. The man took notice of Boris’s expression and felt bad. “Sorry if its personal. Shouldn’t have brought it up.”
“Its alright. I-I’m just not comfortable talking about it.” Boris replied forgiving the young man.
The man smiled back. “Well I’m Donnie, Martin’s son.” Donnie held his hand out for the wolf.
Boris smiled. “Boris the wolf!” Boris replied.
“I know.”
“You do?” Boris replied, surprised someone knows about him.
Donnie nodded. “Of course, my dad used to watch the cartoons when he was a kid and I watch them too at my art school!” He explained.
Boris smiled hearing many young people started watching their cartoons. “That’s amazing. No one has seen the cartoons in years, glad they're being brought up again!”
“I know! Lots of people my age enjoy them! They're hilarious!” Donnie agreed. Boris smiled as he and Donnie talked. As they talked Donnie grabbed his paints and started to paint on the canvas. Boris looked at Donnie and saw he was painting a sunset over a lake. Boris’s eyes sparkled as he saw live like the painting looked.
“That looks beautiful.” Boris commented.
Donnie smiled. “Thank you. Did you see the other paintings inside?” He asked. Boris nodded. “That was all my paintings.”
“Really?! Your good!” Boris beamed.
“Thanks again Boris.” Donnie replied. Boris smiled and kept watching Donnie finish his painting.
After two paintings, Boris and Donnie started to get hungry and went to order lunch from inside the cafe. Linda smiled seeing Donnie again especially seeing him with Boris. “Hello Donnie. I see you met Boris.” Linda beamed.
“Yep! He’s been keeping an eye on my paintings.” Donnie explained.
Linda smiled. “Well I know what you want Donnie, but Boris what do you seem interested in today?” She asked. Boris looked at the menu and wasn’t sure what to order. Everything looked so good it was hard not to order three things off the menu.
“Let him have what I’m having. I’ll pay for it.” Donnie suggested. He put his hand on Boris’s arm making the wolf smile. Linda smiled back and nodded at the two going to place their orders. Soon enough their orders came, which was a grilled cheese with bacon and some chips. Boris licked his lips seeing the delicious sandwich right in front of him.
Donnie paid for the sandwiches and the two sat outside enjoying their lunch. As they ate the two talked more about how Donnie got into painting as well as his father put all of them in the cafe. “So you were 14 when you found out painting was your passion?” Boris asked, surprised Donnie was that young.
Donnie nodded as he finished his sandwich, Boris was done with his earlier. “Well I’ve been into all kinds of art, its just painting called out to me when I went to an art museum and just figured I should do it.”
Boris smiled, but gave a sigh. “Think I might get into painting?” He asked.
Donnie smiled. “Anyone can paint. It takes practice to make something amazing I made, but as long as you pick up a brush and know what you want to make you can paint something amazing!” Donnie explained. Boris smiled and knew what to ask Linda later after work.
The rest of the day, was Boris chatting with his new friend Donnie and even painting something himself, which he was proud of. Donnie smiled and gave his new friend a thumbs up, making the wolf beam in happiness.
After Linda’s shift was over, Boris waved goodbye to Donnie and they left the cafe. “So Boris do you want anything? You were such a good boy today.” Linda suggested.
Boris nodded knowing what he want. “Think you can get me a painting set. I want to try out painting just like Donnie.” Linda smiled and nodded as they made their way to the paint store. Once they made it, Linda walked inside and told Boris to wait as she went in. Boris waited in the car excited to get his new paint set and to start doing some paintings of his own.
After 10 minutes, Linda came out with some paint, an easel, paint brushes, and a few canvases. Boris had his hands and face on the window smiling seeing all the supplies for his first painting.
Linda and Boris got home, and the wolf was happy to see Bendy and Alice home working on homework while having some blueberry muffins for a snack. “Hey Bendy! Hey Alice!” Boris yelled.
“Hey Boris!” The two toons said together.
Henry came by after washing dishes and smiled seeing the wolf toon and his wife come back from the cafe. “Hey Boris how was the cafe?” He asked.
“It was great!” Boris cheered. “Everyone was so nice and I made a new friend!”
Henry chuckled. “That’s great!” Boris nodded and rushed into the bedroom taking five muffins with him. This left, Bendy, Alice and Henry confused. Linda giggled sitting down at the table eating a blueberry muffin for herself.
After the toons finished homework and dinner, Linda told Henry everything that happened today. Henry was shocked to know many of the co-workers enjoyed Boris’s company especially the son of the manager. “That was the first time Donnie smiled and had a friend in like forever.” Linda repeated what her boss, Martin told her.
Henry gave a soft chuckle. He too remembered Donnie as a little boy and even gave him a drawing on his birthday a few years ago. “Boris was created to be kind and helpful, even though he and Bendy but heads in some cartoons Boris does care for people.” Henry explained. Linda smiled and leaned on her husband’s shoulder and smiled.
“Henry, Linda.” Bendy started. Henry and Linda looked down at the demon who looked surprised.  “You may wanna come up to our room and see this.” Henry and Linda looked at one another in sync with Linda smiling a second later, and ran up to the toons room. When they got there they saw Boris paining another picture with two others drying, leaning on the wall.
One of the paintings showed a lighthouse by the sea during a horizon, and the second one was some pretty purple, blue and white flowers in a garden with birds and squirrels around it. The third painting Boris was working on, was a colored recreation of the drawing Henry made of the toons that he gave to Joey years ago.
“Boris.” Henry started. The wolf stopped and turned to face his family. “What’s all this?”
“Oh I discovered my true calling, Henry.” Boris started. “You see at the craft store today, I found these painting kits and asked Linda to buy it for me. So after coming up with some ideas, I did my first set of paintings.” Boris explained.
Henry and Linda got a closer look at the paintings and were in awe at them, mostly Henry was ate awe. “Boris,” Henry started. “This is amazing.”
Boris chuckled and rubbed the back of his head. “Aww shucks. Thanks Henry.” He replied, blushing.
“It really is amazing Boris!” Bendy beamed. “You have the art skills of Henry!” Boris smiled wider feeling the love from his family.
“Its not as good as Henry’s.” Boris replied.
Henry chuckled and put his arm around the wolf. “Nope, Bendy is right. You are good as me.” He repeated.
“I am?”
Henry nodded. “You are. This is my art style.” He explained. Boris smiled and put his arm around his father figure. Henry gave a small smile to the recreation of the drawing he once sent Joey years ago, he never showed it to the toons before, so how did Boris know about it. “Boris I have a question.” The wolf turned to him and nodded. “H-how did you know about this drawing of you, Bendy and Alice. T-that was my old drawing I gave Joey when we opened the studio.”
Boris rubbed the back of his head. He barely remembered when he saw it, but where he saw it was clear in his mind. “Well when I was created, I saw the drawing in Joey’s office. I-I wanted to ask him, but never did since Bendy told me he would get mad over small questions.” He explained. “Then one day when I wanted to ask, the painting was gone.”
Henry nodded taking all of this in. He knew Joey was sensing Boris asking about the photo, and had to cover it up before the wolf asks more questions, but never an answer.
“B-but.” Boris stuttered. “I hope you don’t mind I recreated it, and in color too!”
Henry looked once more at the painting and smiled. The entire background was painted in many shades of greens and blues, but Bendy and his friends still stayed the same black and white color. It did make the painting pop out though.
“I love it Boris!” Henry commented. Boris smiled and gave Henry a huge bear hug. Henry gave a slight chuckle as he hugged the wolf back. Linda, Alice and Bendy smiled and hugged Boris as well.
Linda went over to her husband’s ear and whispered, “You’re welcome.” to him. Henry smiled at his wife, before letting go from Boris’s hug and hugging his wife.
“What got you the idea for Boris to craft?” He asked as he dipped his wife.
Linda squeaked, and chuckled. “I figured we were on our way home from the cafe, Boris saw all the cute paintings and decided he want to paint too.” She explained. “Was surprised he’s as good as art as you were.”
Henry chuckled and lifted his wife back up and kissed her slowly on the lips. Linda smiled and kissed her husband back. God she missed having long kisses with Henry like this, they haven’t did this since they were young.
Though the Stein’s didn’t realize they were making out in front of their toon kids. Boris chuckled, Alice awed seeing her parents being adorable, Bendy felt sick to his stomach. “Yo! Henry! Linda! KIDS ARE IN THE ROOM YOU KNOW!” Bendy shouted. Henry and Linda stopped kissing and turned to their toon kids. While two of the toons didn’t mind the devil darlin did. “Seriously! You had to get all romance in front of us!” Bendy shouted. Bendy still ranted about the whole kissing thing as he left the room to brush his teeth or clean his eyes out what he just saw.
Henry and Linda laughed and followed Bendy, hopefully to calm him down over the make out fiasco.

In Your Dreams
Tumblr media
Pairing - Jisung x Reader
Genre - Dream Soulmate AU
Word Count - 1.9k+
๛ A/N: I’ve had this idea in my head for a while now so I decided to write it finally haha. Also, I’ve never written in this format before so I hope it’s alright??
The recurring dream started when you were young. Probably 1st or 2nd grade. You still remember clearly when you first met him.
A boy, probably the same age as you, had appeared and started to play with you. Immediately you two hit it off, but then again kids always seem to get along fine right?
He was a lot more extroverted and to be frank, hyper than you. His activeness balanced out your rather timid and quiet persona. Your conversations were anything but filled with awkward gaps since he was a master at filling them in.
“My name’s y/n what about you?”
“Hmm...you can call me squirrel!”
“What kind of name is Squirrel?” you scrunched your nose. “I’m calling you chipmunk instead since you have chubby cheeks” you joked.
And whenever you two weren’t in conversation, there was always something else to do.
“Let’s go on the playground!” he exclaims.
“What do you mean? There’s no playground!” you retorted, gesturing to a blank surrounding
“This is a dream we can invent anything we want” and with a snap of his finger, a swingset had appeared.
The moment you woke up that day, you immediately wanted to go back. No one in real life could give you that much fun as that boy did.
Lucky for you, he was ready to play some more the following night.
Ever since, night times had been the time you looked forward to most.
Your mother was almost bewildered at your anticipation for sleep. Weren’t kids supposed to be rowdy around these times and want to stay up? Nope, not in your case.
“Mommy let’s go to sleeeep!”
“Y/n...it’s 5 pm….”
Your mother knew about Chipmunk, but she thought it was nothing more than an imaginary friend.
“Who’s that you’re drawing?” your mother asked once when you came home from art class.
“My best friend!” you exclaimed, showing your portrait proudly. Scrawled at the bottom in slightly uneven writing was his name, Chipmunk.
“I don’t think you’ve ever introduced to me this best friend” your mom chuckles.
However, you noticed a certain thing happened when you tried to sleep freakishly early. The boy wouldn’t appear.
Well, more like he wouldn’t appear at first but after a while he’d come.
“Where were you?”
“What do you mean?” he asked, confused.
“Wait...WERE YOU PLAYING WITHOUT ME?!” he gasped, obviously offended.
“Well you were nowhere to be seen!” you retorted.
“It’s not my fault my mom wouldn’t let me go to sleep early!”
That was the first time you started to question this boy’s existence. Up until now you had thought he was merely a figment of your imagination.
What if he actually existed?
You decided not to ask him about this thought because, well, it’s rude to ask someone else about the practicality of their existence right?
Time went on
This little chipmunk kept by your side every sunset to sunrise
In like fourth grade, the film Alice In Wonderland was released and immediately you were drawn.
Alice experienced the same thing as you, recurring dreams. You developed a strange sense of emotional attachment to her character, and this film in general.
No one else could understand your predicament, and finally it was depicted in something as simple as a movie.
Although you wouldn’t trade your dreams for the world, you were awfully curious as to how “normal” dreams were like
When your friends talked about nightmares they had the night prior, you could never relate
What would dreams be like without your best friend?
Whether that be fortunate or not, you were about to experience it.
If you were to give a time estimate, it would probably be around 7th or 8th grade.
You experienced multiple nights without Chipmunk’s appearance completely. What was he doing? Why was he pulling an all-nighter?
At this point, you believed he was real. He was an average boy out there and was experiencing life just like you. He was just too life-like to be imaginary.
One or two nights without him a month soon turned into one or two nights a week. You didn’t ask him about it, but it still remained in the back of your mind
You two generally didn’t ask or talk about your personal lives.
In the dream world, it was almost as if you two could start over again. Why meddle in your day-to-day life, when you can experience something completely new here?
You also started to notice something else as time persisted. Not only was he not appearing at all more often, the time you two did spend together was heavily shortened.
What seemed like a full 8 hours had now been limited to 1 or 2. Why was he away so often?
A couple days turned into a full week. And even more, a full month.
What if he was imaginary? No, imaginary friends are for little kids. You were in high school now for fuck’s sake.
But then again, it’s always been a little different in your case. Were you finally growing out of this stage?
You hoped not. You didn’t know how you would sleep without your best friend.
A lifetime without seeing him ever again would beat any nightmare.
Although you were disappointed with his lack of appearance, you were starting to be guilty of the same act
Countless nights were spent studying and finishing responsibilities.
Sleep was a sacrifice you had to make in order to catch up with school
Meeting up with Chipmunk wasn’t a routine and it now turned into more of a special gift
You dearly wanted to go back to when you could spend every night with him, but you understood this was part of growing up: drifting apart from old friends.
Or, that’s what you thought would happen. He always remained precious to you, and no matter how much you tried to get close with other people, he was still the one you trusted most. The one you could never rid of.
“Y/n! Y/n!!” one of your friends scream. You look over to see her with a look of shock on her face, hands clasped over mouth in excitement.
“STRAY KIDS IS COMING HERE HOLY SHIT!” she shrieks. Uhhhh what? She was an avid kpop fan whilst you weren’t really into that scene. You could’ve sworn she was fangirling over a different group every week.
She shoves her phone in her hand and on it displayed a poster of ‘STRAY KIDS WORLD TOUR’
“Erm who is this?” you ask, still confused.
“Ugh you ignorant idiot” she mutters, taking her phone back and quickly typing into the search bar. She soon shoves the photo back towards you.
“This is Chan.” she says, zooming into a specific portion of the group picture.
“Changbin.” she continues, and you half-heartedly try to remember the names. You were sure she’d ramble on about them later so it’s just better to learn it now and not have to go through this process again.
“Jisung.” she scrolls right, and your eyes widen. Chipmunk.
Before she could change the picture, you take the phone and took a long, hard look at him.
Surely not. He couldn’t possibly be your chipmunk.
“Like what you see?” your friend smirks and you bat her away.
“Jisung you said?” you ask, eyes still fixated on his picture.
“Han Jisung yep. He’s really popular I’m not surprised he caught your eye” she laughs. Now that you think of it, you never asked for his real name. Maybe you could’ve found him sooner if you did.
“Hey let’s go to the concert” you propose impulsively. You wanted to see him. Jisung outside of your dreams? Nothing could be more intriguing.
“Damn I thought I was gonna be the one to force you to come with me” she comments “Jisung really did get you that bad huh? Love at first sight is no joke” she laughs again.
You stuck your tongue out at her playfully. First sight my ass.
“So uh tell me more about Stray Kids” you ask your friend. Might as well learn more about them if you’re gonna go to their concert.
“Oh so you mean tell me more about Jisung?” she gives a sly look and slap her in the shoulder lightly.
In the three-week time gap you had before the concert, you managed to become an even bigger fangirl than your friend.
Needless to say, Jisung was your bias and the more you learned about him, the more you were sure he was the same boy from your dreams. All his traits matched up with the version you saw at night.
Speaking of which, you haven’t seen him in a while. You caught a glimpse of him one night, but his appearance was so quick you could’ve sworn you were seeing things.
Now it was understandable as to why he was gone so often. Idols had more sleepless nights than restful ones. Their sleep schedule was also heavily skewed.
It was okay though. You were going to see him in real life. Wait, would he recognize you??
3 days until the concert.
Your anxiety heightened as time ticked. The fact that your friend had bought tickets that included a short face-to-face interaction also known as a ‘Hi-touch’ added to your excitement.
Countless “what if” questions surrounded your mind.
What if he doesn’t recognize? What if he does?
What were you going to do?
The night of the concert.
It’s okay y/n as long as you don’t say weird things or just outright pass out. And remember, assume he doesn’t know about the dreams
And then it comes. Waiting in line for the hi-touch. Deep breaths y/n, deep breaths. It also was purely coincidental that Jisung happened to be the first person.
“Hi-” Jisung’s bright smile immediately disappears once he saw you. Oh no what happened?
“Y/n?” he questions, surprised.
You were speechless but still nodded profusively. He knew?
“I was starting believe you weren’t real!” he exclaimed, his usual smile creeping back onto his face with its contagiousness passing on to you.
“I-”
Before you could finish your sentence, staff members urged you further down the line. You were obviously taking way too much time.
Looking back down the line, you see him staring back at you with a longing expression. He wanted to spend more time with you.
The rest of the concert was more of a blur. Meeting Jisung was definitely the highlight of the night.
Hopefully, you could meet him in your dreams. Please. Just tonight.
As you close your eyes that night, you were met with a surprising view. Jisung was already there waiting for you.
“Y/n!” Jisung exclaims.
He stood not more than 10 ft away from you, and you rushed to his side.
“I tried to find you in real life. But I wasn’t sure if you were real. Also, I did not realize how many people are named y/n” he laughs.
“Well I don’t know about you but it’s nearly impossible trying to find someone named squirrel or chipmunk” you smile.
“I’m sorry I haven’t been able to spend more time with you. Our schedules are just terrible in terms of getting rest” he apologizes.
“I guess life just gets in the way of our friendship huh?” you chuckle.
“Well, not anymore” he says. “I know who you are now.”
“We can be together all day now!” he exclaims.
“Oh god I don’t know if I can handle a full 24 hours of you” you joked even though you knew that’s all you ever wanted.
