Bệnh bại liệt là gì ? Cùng tìm hiểu

Lịch sử nghiên cứu

Bệnh được Jakob van Heine biểu hiện trước tiên vào năm 1840, sau chậm tiến độ được Karl Oskar Medin nghiên cứu năm 1890, nên còn được gọi là bệnh Heine – Medin. Bại liệt khác với liệt cứng nửa người

Virut bại liệt (poliovirus) do Landsteiner và Popper sắm ra năm 1909.

Cuối thập niên 1940 và đầu thập niên 1950, nhóm nghiên cứu của chưng sỹ John Enders ở Bệnh viện trẻ con Boston – Mỹ đã nuôi cấy thành công virut Bại liệt trên mô người, bắt đầu cho việc chế tạo vacxin Bại liệt và Jonas Salk đã chế tạo vacxin thành công năm 1955 làm giảm đáng đề cập tỉ lệ mắc bệnh. Đến 1960 có thêm vacxin Sabin (do Albert Sabin).

Dịch tễ học

Trong những năm 2003-2004, dịch bại liệt đã xuất hiện ở một số quốc gia ở khu vực Tây và Trung Phi.

Cho đến cuối 2006, chí ít mang trên 33 đất nước đã dùng vacxin chống bại liệt cho trên 350 triệu con nhỏ. Chương trình phòng chống bại liệt cũng được nâng cao cường và hiệu quả ở 6 đất nước còn tồn tại dịch là Nigeria, Niger, ấn độ, Afghanistan, người nào cập and Pakistan.

Đặc điểm của bệnh

Bệnh bại liệt (Poliomyelitis) là một bệnh nhiễm vi rút cấp tính lây truyền theo tuyến phố tiêu hóa do vi rút Polio gây lên, với thể lan truyền thành dịch. Bệnh được nhận biết qua diễn tả của hội chứng liệt mềm cấp. Vi rút Polio sau lúc vào thân thể sẽ đến hạch bạch huyết, tại đây 1 số ít vi rút Polio xâm nhập vào hệ thống thần kinh trung ương gây thương tổn ở các tế bào sừng trước tủy sống và tế bào tâm thần vận động của vỏ não.

Khả năng còn đó của vi rút bại liệt ở môi trường bên ngoài:

Vi rút bại liệt sống sai ở môi trường bên ngoài, trong phân, chúng sống được vài ba tháng ở nhiệt độ 0-4°C. Trong nước, ở nhiệt độ thường, chúng sống được hai tuần.

Vi rút bại liệt chịu cất khô hanh hao, bị xoá sổ ở nhiệt độ 56°C sau 30 phút và bị xoá sổ bởi thuốc tím (KMnO4).

Thể liệt mềm cấp điển hình: Chiếm 1% sở hữu các triệu chứng sốt, chán ăn, nhức đầu, buồn nôn, đau cơ những chi, gáy và lưng, dần dần mất chuyển động dẫn tới liệt ko đối xứng. Mức độ liệt tối đa là liệt tủy sống, liệt hành tủy dẫn đến suy hô hấp và tử vong. Liệt ở chi, không bình phục khiến cho bệnh nhân khó vận động hoặc mất chuyển động.

Thể viêm màng não vô khuẩn: Sốt, nhức đầu, đau cơ, cứng gáy.

Thể nhẹ: Sốt, khó ngủ, nhức đầu, buồn nôn, nôn, táo bón, sở hữu thể bình phục trong vài ngày.

Thể ẩn, ko rõ triệu chứng là thể thường gặp, song thể nhẹ có thể chuyển biến sang nặng.

Nguồn lây truyền.

Người là nguồn cất độc nhất vô nhị, đặc trưng là ở những người nhiễm vi rút bại liệt thể ẩn, nhất là con trẻ.

Nguồn truyền bệnh là bệnh nhân ở những thể lâm sàng và người lành có vi rút. Họ đào thải toàn bộ vi rút bại liệt theo phân khiến cho ô nhiễm nguồn nước và thực phẩm. Vi rút lây nhiễm sang người chủ yếu qua trục đường phân – miệng. Vi rút bại liệt cốt yếu từ phân ô nhiễm vào nguồn nước, thực phẩm rồi vào người qua con đường ruột. Cũng có lúc lây truyền qua tuyến đường hầu, họng. Ko bao giờ lây truyền qua côn trùng trung gian.
