King Herod built his impressive fortress at Masada, Israel, overlooking the Dead Sea. It is thought that King David may have also used this fortress, as the Bible references King David retreated to his high fortress.

A Tristram's starling stands watch atop the #MasadaFortress, the last bastion of the Jewish rebellion in the 1st Century, built atop a 1,476-ft. plateau overlooking the Dead Sea.
