koyuryou’s here too, because why not~?
very, very questionable tl under the cut, sorry~~
also, please look at the nagihiyos if you have the time, the nagisa beam never ends!!!!
Ogino Ryou:
A University student who was originally from Sakuragaoka High School. Boyish and popular with her female juniors. Seems to be attracted to Koyuki, her senior at her part-time job who is a year younger than she is…?
Ayase Koyuki:
Formerly a “feminine boy”, he underwent an image change when he fell in love with Enomoto Natsuki, a girl of the same grade as him. Having put an end to his feelings for her, he now finds himself taking a fancy to Ryou…?
An imbalanced couple that highlights each other’s charms.
Yamako: They’re an imbalanced couple, aren’t they? When the illustration of the CD jacket was released, there were reactions like “I like the contrast between them.”, and I think that Ryou, the boyish girl, and Koyuki, the girlish boy, are able to highlight each other’s charms.
Gom: Since we, as HoneyWorks, depict love stories over periods of time, it’s also kind of realistic to have a continuation of a character’s love life years after their previous song… I still hear comments like “I wish Koyuki had gotten together with Setoguchi Hina (who had a one-sided crush on him).” though (lol). But I think the depth of Koyuki’s past also gives him a certain kind of charm.
Checking their “love meter”
Yamako: Considering where they’re at in this album, I wonder if they’ve gone over 50% on the meter when it comes to their romantic feelings for each other.
shito: It seems like Koyuki already knows he’s truly in love with her, but I think Ryou’s at the stage where she’s like “There’s no way I’m in love with him”.
Yamako: I get the feeling that Ryou thinks that Koyuki “lives in a different world from hers”. They both have feelings of friendship and respect towards each other, but when it comes to romantic feelings, I get the sense that Koyuki’s feelings for her are getting stronger.
Koyuki: Scores 50/100 for romantic love (Knows he’s wholly in love with her)
Ryou: Scores 50/100 for romantic love (“Is this love…?”)
Things to look out and listen out for in the album!
shito: We discussed about how we wanted to portray the difference in the attitudes of the two of them in their respective songs. Koyuki is a really serious guy, so we wanted to show how he thought and felt when he fell in love with an older girl. However, for Ryou, her song has comedic elements to it as well. Despite the main focus of her song being about their romance, there are some parts that play out like a comedy skit as well.
Yamako: It’s just like a skit about misunderstandings, right? (lol)
shito: That was the kind of nuance we’d decided to bring out from the start with “I wanna cosplay! (by Ogino Ryou)”, which I had written with Gom.
Gom: The kind of contrast Ryou has, in which she loves cute things in actuality despite being cool and adored by her female juniors, gives her her own charm, so I think it’d be pretty interesting to watch how it all plays out.
