AEW Dynamite 1/11/23

Jon Moxley vs. Adam Page -- This starts off hot with an exchange of strikes! On the top, Moxley bites the back of Page!! Armbar by Mox, but Page escapes. Page sets up for a Buckshot, but Mox stops it with an elbow to the face, sending Hangman outside! Mox follows Page outside and slings him into the barricade! Mox tries to throw Hangman into the ring, and Hangman rebounds back with a huge lariat!!!! Damn!!!! Back in the ring, Moxley lands a lariat of his own!! Cover and Page kicks out! Stomps to the head by Mox! Mox locks in an STF, transitions into a facelock, then transitions into a rear choke. Page to his feet with a side suplex to Mox!!! Huge lariat by Page! Forearm exchange!!!!!! Fall-away slam by Page! German suplex by Mox, but Page lands on his feet and responds with a huge lariat!!!!! Mox rolls outside. Triangle moonsault to the outside by Page!!!! Back in the ring now. Page attempts a Buckshot, but Moxley reverses into Death Rider!! Page kicks out, and Mox transitions quickly into position for the hammer and anvil elbows, then a bulldog choke! More elbows, then Moxley locks the bulldog back in! Piledriver by Moxley, and Page kicks out at one!!!!!!!! Kicks from Mox, but Page grabs the leg. Page goes for Deadeye, but Mox reverses into a sleeper! Piledriver attempt by Mox, but Page reverses into Deadeye!! But Mox gets back up!!! Stomp to Page's head by Mox! Both down! Hard exchange of elbows!! Three headbutts by Mox put Page down!! Mox leans down to talk shit, and Page responds, rising up with a huge headbutt of his own!!! Heated palm strike exchange!!!!! Lariat by Page!!! Page to the apron, and he lands the Buckshot!! Cover!!! 1, 2, 3!!!! After the match, the doctor is in the ring checking on Moxley!!! Page has returned the favor, now knocking Moxley out! Nice!!!!!

This was a great back and forth match with some drama to it. Love seeing Moxley take a CLEAN loss!!! Rating: 3.75

Tony Schiavone is in the ring. He says he takes no pleasure in introducing his next guest. Imagine my disappointment when it is not MJF, but instead, Adam Cole. Cole talks about his injuries, how he didn't know what was happening to him, and how he thought his career was over. He talks about how grateful he is to the fans for sending him nice comments and supporting him while he was out. But he says he has some bad news, not for himself, but for the AEW roster. He announces that he is not done yet and that he is back.

It is well-documented that I am hot and cold on Adam Cole. But I am very glad he is okay, and I am glad he is still able to wrestle.

Jungle Boy and Hook vs. Lee Moriarty and Big Bill -- This is fine. The highlight of the match is HOOK WITH A HUGE T-BONE SUPLEX TO BILL!!!!!! AHHHH!!! Jungle Boy gets the win via submission with the Snare Trap on Moriarty! Rating: 2.5

Takeshita enters for his match against Danielson. But as he is waiting in the ring, instead of Danielson, here comes MJF!!!!!! Here we goooo!!!.

MJF says that the people really seem to like Takeshita, but MJF hasn't seen any of his stuff. When MJF watches the show back, he fast-fowards to the only part that matters and we are looking at him. MJF says Takeshita's name is on the tip of his tongue and calls him "take-a-shit-a." Did he get it right? Lmaoooo. MJF says he hopes Takeshita doesn't take a shit in his pants tonight, because MJF needs him to beat Danielson. Takeshita responds in Japanese, and MJF tells him that "we speak American here." Takeshita says, "I said kiss my ass!" MJF tells Aubrey he wants Takeshita out of the ring or he will be fined.

MJF says people think he can't last an hour against Danielson, but you can ask your mother, your sister, and your skank girlfriend how long MJF can last. Lmaaaooooo. MJF calls out the celebrities in the audience. He mocks Ken Jeong for his comedy special being canceled. He calls out Freddie Prinze, Jr. MJF says some people may remember Freddie from She's All That, but he doesn't, because he was born in 1996 and is not a dinosaur like all these people. MJF says he remembers Freddie from co-starring to a CGI dog and says Freddie is nothing more than a Scooby-dooby-douchebag. Lmaoooo, y'all don't know how I was in tears over that ridiculous shit. Who else could say that and make it work but MJF?? I'm dead.

Danielson finally comes out, and he is charging toward MJF!!! MJF runs out of the ring faster than you've ever seen anyone run in wrestling!!! Loool. I love, love, love MJF running his mouth, and then booking it at lightning speed as soon as Danielson enters the same room. Hilarious, classic heel shit, and he pulls it off so well.

Bryan Danielson vs. Konosuke Takeshita -- HYPE!!!!!! Hot start here!!! Rapid fire counters! Romero Special into a surfboard into a dragon sleeper by Danielson! Takeshita reverses into a dragon sleeper of his own! Danielson escapes. Nasty elbows from Takeshita!! Nasty chops from Danielson!!! Takeshita runs the ropes and lands a huge flying elbow!!!! Kicks and a butterfly suplex, then a smooth transition into an armbar by Danielson! Takeshita reverses with elbow strikes! Danielson goes for the LeBell lock, but Takeshita immediately gets to the ropes. Round kicks and two corner dropkicks by Danielson! Danielson goes for a third dropkick, but Takeshita catches him and reverses soooo smoothly into a Blue Thunder Bomb! Huge chops from Takeshita!!! Takeshita runs Danielson into the corner, but Danielson runs up the ropes and flips over Takeshita! They both go for a lariat and collide! Both are down! Vicious chop exchange and Takeshita gets the better of it! Danielson goes down!! Danielson makes it back up. He fakes a chop, then goes low to the knee with kicks!! Takeshita is sent over the ropes to the outside. Danielson with a topé, driving Takeshita into the barricade! Back in the ring, Danielson goes to the top. Takeshita follows and goes for a superplex, but Danielson escapes. Back to the top. Huge lariat off the top rope by Takeshita! Cover, but Danielson kicks out! Takeshita goes for a powerbomb, but Danielson reverses with a hurricanrana over the ropes to the outside. Danielson hits a running hurricanrana off the apron to the outside, which results in a terrible, nasty landing into the barricade for both guys!!! Geez!!! Danielson with some kicks, then Takeshita stops them and lands a brainbuster on the floor! Takeshita rolls Danielson in the ring and goes for a senton over the ropes to the inside, but Danielson gets the knees up and locks in the LeBell lock! As Takeshita tries to escape, Danielson traps the second arm, but Takeshita gets his foot on the rope! Big round kicks by Danielson! Takeshita lands a huge elbow! Danielson responds with a massive elbow of his own! A strike exchange ensues! HUGE rolling elbow, then a lariat by Takeshita takes Danielson down!!!! Takeshita goes for a running knee, but Danielson catches him and reverses into the hammer and anvil elbows! Takeshita catches the arm, stops the elbows, and gets Danielson up into a fireman's carry. Danielson tries to escape and roll up Takeshita, but Takeshita traps the legs and drives Danielson down onto his head, then maintains control and rotates backwards into a deadlift German suplex!!!! Holy shit!! Cover, but Danielson kicks out!!! Takeshita keeps control of the waist! Danielson with some desperate back elbows, trying to escape!! Takeshita neutralizes him with a nasty elbow to the back of the head!!!!!!! Ahhhh!!! German suplex by Takeshita, but Danielson lands on his feet! Running knee attempt by Takeshita, but it misses! Psycho knee by Danielson!!! Takeshita kicks out!!! Violent stomps to Takeshita's head by Danielson!!!! Danielson locks in the choke with the legs trapped that he’s been using and puts Takeshita out for the win!!!! Danielson gets Takeshita up after the match and shakes his hand.

WHAT A MATCH!!! THAT ROCKED SO HARD!!!!!!! Both of those guys are incredible. Rating: 4.25

Backstage, Juice Robinson lays out a challenge to Darby Allin for the TNT Championship.

Jamie Hayter and Britt Baker vs. Toni Storm and Saraya -- This is a fine, solid match. Saraya continues to not look great. Shida accidentally? causes Storm and Saraya to lose by sliding her kendo stick into the ring, because Britt gets a hold of it and smacks Storm with it. Hayter then lands a big back breaker for the pinfall. Rating: 3

More back and forth between JAS and Starks/Andretti. Starks says the JAS couldn't finish the job on him last week, because he's back. Andretti tells Jericho to shut the hell up before he takes the bat and shoves it up Jericho's ass. Garcia yells at Andretti to not disrespect Jericho. Andretti says he didn't know Garcia's babysitter Sammy gave Garcia permission to speak. He says Sammy can't control Garcia, because he can't even keep control over where his wife's hands go, because last week they were between Andretti's legs. How did I know that would come back? Starks calls out Hager. He says it's sad that Hager was a top collegiate athlete and now, since joining Jericho, he is the village idiot. Hager says he's an undefeated MMA fighter, and he is going to slap Starks' face off his face. What????

Death Triangle (c) vs. The Elite Match 7 in the Best of 7 Series for the AEW World Trios Championship (Ladder Match) -- HYPE HYPE HYPE!!!! Pac rakes Kenny's eyes!!! Backstabber by Penta on Kenny! Backstabber by Matt on Pac! Cazadora/cutter combo from Pac and Penta to Nick, followed by a frog splash off the top by Fénix!!! Pac and Penta take a ladder to Kenny's face on the outside, followed by a topé from Fénix!!! Huge destroyer from Matt to Penta!!! Matt is climbing the ladder, and Fénix flies in with a springboard of the top rope into an arm drag to take Matt down off the ladder!!! Vicious half and half suplex from Omega to Fénix!! Snap dragon suplex from Omega to Penta!!! Terminator dive attempt by Omega is cut off by a missile drop kick from the top by Pac!! Snap dragon from Omega to Pac!! Omega finally dives outside with a topé con giro, but Pac moves out of the way, and Omega goes crashing through a table that is set up on the outside!!! Ahhhhh!!! But a huge diving cross body from Matt off the top to the outside catches Pac and drives him through another table!!! In the ring, Penta lights Nick up with a nasty overhand chop!! Damn!!!!!! The Lucha Bros hurl Nick into a ladder in the corner! Omega is on his back with his legs in the air. Fénix holds a ladder against Omega's legs, and Penta lands a big dropkick off the top, driving the ladder into Omega's legs. Explosive belly to belly from Matt to Penta onto a ladder!! Fénix with a hurricanrana to Nick off the top, driving Nick's legs into a ladder!!! Kenny and Pac have a tug of war over a ladder! Kenny's hand gets trapped between the ladder, and Pac stomps on the ladder, crushing Kenny's hand!! Pac heads up the ladder, but Kenny grabs him in One-Winged Angel position! But Pac reverses with a nasty poison rana!!! Damn! German suplex from Pac to Matt! Lucha Bros land Fear Factor on Kenny!!! Big tornillo over the top rope from Fénix to Nick on the outside!! Pac and Penta attempt a double suplex onto a ladder in the corner, but the Bucks stop it with a superkick party! Locomotion Northern Lights suplexes from Matt to Fénix, the last one onto the ladder in the corner!! Nick lands a huge 450 off the top to Penta through a table on the outside!!! Damn!!!!!!! Matt is almost to the top of the ladder, but Fénix grabs his foot! Alex comes into the ring to knock over the ladder! Cutler comes in to spray something in Alex's eyes!! V-trigger out of nowhere from Kenny to Alex!! Kenny starts to climb the ladder, but Pac comes in with a hammer to Kenny's hand!!!!! Pac has taken out both of Kenny’s hands now!!!!! They go to the outside. Pac lands a Falcon Arrow on Kenny on the floor!!! Pac and Matt get up to the top of the ladder!! Meanwhile, the Lucha Bros set up another ladder, propping it up horizontally between the standing ladder and the ropes. Penta climbs up and hits a package piledriver on Matt on the ladder!!!!! Oh my god!!! Fénix and Omega are now on the ladder that is still set up in the middle of the ring. Omega gets Fénix onto his shoulders!!! ONE-WINGED ANGEL OFF THE LADDERS!!!!!! HOLY SHIT!!!!! Pac tries to swoop in with a Black Arrow to Kenny, but Kenny gets his knees up!! Kenny climbs up the ladder!!! He grabs the belt!!!!!

FOR THE SECOND TIME IN THIS SHOW, WHAT A MATCH!!!!!!!!! This absolutely slapped from start to finish. This was the best kind of spotfest. What a way to close out an incredible series. I wanted Death Triangle to retain, so that sucks. But I do love The Elite, so I will probably get over it. Rating: 4.5
