Author’s Note: The story Alfie is reading to the children is loosely inspired by the Malay Folklore; Legend of Puteri Gunung Ledang

Ginny (on the phone): Can we add fairy lights around the dance platform? Maybe some canopy curtains too?

Catalina: What colour do you want it to be in?

Ginny: Maybe white? Or do you have any other suggestions?

Indirah: I think white is good. Maybe we can hang the fairy lights on the curtains too.

Ginny: Ooh~ Good idea!

Catalina: Alright, do you have any other decorations you want to add?

Ginny: Well, I do have something in mind…

*knock knock*

Rainier (from outside the room): Ginny? Are you in there?

Ginny: Yeah! Don’t come in!

Rainier: Why? What are you doing in there?

Ginny: I’m working on my dress. You can’t see it yet!

Rainier: *chuckles* Okay~ I made strawberry cheesecake for tea time. Come and eat with me when you’re done~

Ginny: Alright. Give me a minute!

Ginny *thinking*: Hmm the wedding dress is almost done. All that is left are the bridesmaid's dresses.

*phone rings*

Alfie: Don’t pick it up.

Catalina: *breathless* It’s Ginny’s ringtone. I think she wants to talk about the wedding preparation.

Alfie: Urgh, cockblocker.

Catalina: *giggles*

Catalina: Hey, Ginny. What’s up?

Catalina: Mhm, I see…

Catalina: Oh, I think I already— *gasps*

Catalina: Wh-what are you doing?

Alfie: Don’t mind me. Continue the call.

Catalina: Alfie— Sorry, Ginny. Can you repeat that?

Catalina: *voice shaking* Y-yeah. I think red is nice.

Catalina: *gasps* I-I’m fine. I…I accidentally dropped something.

Catalina: *breathless* It’s getting late here. C-can we continue the call tomorrow? Yeah, okay bye.

Alfie: *playfully* Done already? I was just getting started.

Catalina: You are in a big trouble, Mr. Frederick.

Alfie: Ooh~ I’m so scared.

Catalina: You’re not sleeping tonight until I’m done with you.

Alfie: Is that a threat, Mrs. Frederick?

Catalina: *scoffs* It’s a promise.

Indirah: Wow, you ordered more than usual. Are you getting the cinnamon roll for Alfie?

Catalina: Huh? This? Nope. They’re mine!

Indirah: Whoa, you must be very hungry. I thought you hate those?

Catalina: I just want to give it a try. They’re not too bad!

Indirah: *chuckles* I’m glad you’re enjoying them then.

[Scene transitions to Lina and Alfie going on an engagement, maybe cutting ribbons for the opening of the children’s library? Alfie reads a book for the children.]

Alfie:…the King fell in love with the Princess after seeing her beauty and asks for her hand in marriage. But the Princess has set several conditions for him before she can agree to his proposal.

Ali: What are the conditions?

Hanna: Yeah! Tell us, Mr. Prince!

Alfie: The Princess’ conditions are; the King must build a golden palace for her to live in and a golden bridge all the way from Mount Belcoast to Mount Silvie for her to walk to and from. She then would also want seven barrels of tears from a young maiden for her to bathe in. And a bowl of the blood of the King’s young heir.

Hope: Whoa! That sounds crazy impossible!

Ali: Right? Why would she give him all that conditions?

Catalina: Well, that’s actually her way of subtly telling him that she doesn’t want to marry him.

Alfie: Exactly. And in the end, the King got the hint and returned to his Kingdom. He’d rather not sacrifice his child just to marry someone.

Hanna: Wah~ The King is a good dad! Just like my appa!

Hope: Tell us more stories, please!

Catalina: You’re going to be a great dad one day, Alfie.

Alfie: Why’d you say that?

Catalina: You’re good with kids. And I know you’re going to be great to our kids.

Catalina: It’s just like a dream I had. You and the children, asleep on the bed after you read them bedtime stories.

Catalina: Just remembering that dream again makes me so happy.

Ginny: *content sigh* This feels like a dream. Everything feels so perfect.

Rainier: Well, if it is. I don’t want to wake up.

Ginny: I can’t wait for our wedding. It’s going to be perfect.

Rainier: I know. I can’t wait too. We’ve waited so long for this.

Ginny: You make me so happy. I don’t deserve you.

Rainier: You do. You deserve everything good in this world.

Rainier: And I’ll continue to make you happy. Until we’re old and grey.

[Atlantica Park, Brindleton Bay]

Shelby: Your Royal Highness, welcome back home!

Prince Rainier: Thank you, Shelby.

Shelby: Please, come in.

Shelby: Lady Danberry is in the sitting room.

Prince Rainier: I haven't been here since...

Shelby: (shocked) Oh! Again, I’m so sorry for your loss, your grace.

Prince Rainier: I appreciate that, Shelby.

Lady Danberry: How is the tea, dear?

Prince Rainier: Good!

Lady Danberry: Shelby makes amazing tea. She went from being my assistant to also a housekeeper and cook!

Prince Rainier: Shelby is your goddaughter! She’s here so you can introduce her to Society not be your assistant! I’ll hire you a chef and proper assistant.

Lady Danberry: That would be lovely! So, how are things with you? How is Kate and the children? How is life in “the firm” going?

Prince Rainier: Things could be better.

Lady Danberry: Royal life can be difficult, dear. I’m sure the last few months have been even harder also grieving the loss of your family. For me, now living in their house has been hard, and also healing! I see my dear brother in every room.

Prince Rainier: Kate’s pregnant again. I wanted to tell you in person. The palace is rushing to announce it but we want to wait until her second trimester. We are so busy with engagements to effectively parent Phillip and Grace, and our schedules are only getting busier, and now another baby!?

Lady Danberry: Rainier, she didn't get pregnant alone! You have to take responsibility for your part and grief is not an excuse. Remember, children are a blessing! This should be a happy time for you.

Prince Rainier: My life feels out of control right now. Dad always knew just what to say.

Lady Danberry: “Control” is something you relinquished when you married the heir to the throne. How much control do you expect to have as consort when Kate becomes Queen?

Prince Rainier: A lot!

Lady Danberry: Dear, boy. Let’s take a walk.

Lady Danberry: The gardens here are so beautiful in the Spring. Your mother kept them so well maintained! Thank you again for letting me move here, dear. It’s still hard to believe they’re gone. My dear brother, he was the kindest one of us all!

Prince Rainier: Of course, Aunt Agatha. Mom and Dad wouldn't want anyone else living here but you! I’m happier knowing you’re closer. You know, Atlantica was purchased by my mothers ancestor, Lord Zuri Walker, The Earl of Emirates in 1800. It’s remained in our family since!

Lady Danberry: I know! Your mother loved telling the history of the estate. (laughs)

Prince Rainier: (sighs) I think about them every day. I reach for my phone to call or text them countless times a day before I remember they’re gone.

Lady Danberry: We still have each other!

Prince Rainier: Do you think he was proud of me?

Lady Danberry: Your father was so proud of you, Rainier! He loved you dearly. My brother would want nothing more than for you to be happy, whatever that may be. It’s okay to mourn but you can't let this grief overtake your happiness! You have a beautiful wife and two gorgeous children. Focus on the joy!

Prince Rainier: I’m trying.

Lady Danberry: Keep trying. This baby will be such a good thing for you. You can't control everything. Who cares if the palace wants to announce Kate’s pregnancy? Let them. Focus on the joy!

Prince Rainier: Thank you, Aunt Agatha. I really needed this visit today.

The House of Grimalldi - The Exiled Prince

Prince Nicholas Xavier was the eldest son of King Nicholas IV and Queen Claudette of Monaca. A troubled youth, he struggled with his role and responsibilities as Crown Prince of Monaca.

Often captured out with some of Monaca's elite, Xavier as he was known within the royal family was labeled the "party prince" by the press.

King Nicholas was said to have been very agitated about his eldest's reckless behavior and openly favored his second son, Prince Maximilian, the Duke of Gloster which caused a rift between the two brothers.

Xavier became involved with married Monacan actress, Marilyn Rhodes whom he would later call the love of his life in his memoir. He wrote her candid love letters, which recently sold in auction for over fifty thousand.

With tensions already rising between father and son, Crown Prince Xavier and the newly divorced Ms. Rhodes took their relationship public. Many speculated the Crown Prince was trying to force his father's hand in accepting his choice for a royal bride.

Less than a week later, King Nicholas and Queen Claudette gave their son an ultimatum. Discard the actress, and marry a daughter of a Monacan nobleman or abdicate.

Nicholas Xavier chose to abdicate his title and claim to the throne for love. He was stripped of “His Royal Highness” status and exiled from Monaca for fears he could cause public unrest. His younger brother, Maximilian was invested as Crown Prince shortly after.

Prince Xavier married Marilyn in a small initiate ceremony on the shores of his mother's homeland of Uspana. Marilyn was never granted any Monacan titles but was allowed to take on her husband’s surname of Grimalldi.

King Nicholas suffered a stroke a year later and died. His eldest son did not attend his state funeral though he was extended an invitation.

Xavier was later granted the title "Duke of Wells" when his brother, Maximilian I succeeded their father as King. He returned to Monaca, where he lived out the rest of his life on his estate away from the public's eye.

*Claudette "Claude" was the wife and Queen Consort of Nicholas IV Grimalldi. She was born in Uspana, the only daughter of Xavier Armendáriz, Duke of Jauregui and Duchess Vivian Armendáriz.

*Nicholas IV was King of Monaca for over thirty years. He was succeeded by his second son, Maximilian I after the abdication of his eldest, Crown Prince Nicholas Xavier. His marriage to Claudette "Claude" Armendarize was arranged by her aunt, Queen Zurine of Uspana. It was said that with their clashing personalities, the two had an instant dislike of one another but later grew to have a fondness and admiration for one another. Overall the marriage was a successful one. They had three sons, Prince Nicholas, Prince Maximilian, later Maximilian I and Prince Rainier.

It’s been a while since I did a history update! And well since I don’t have a story update post this week, I thought this could do! I’m working on that Plum Tree and decided to add more then I need to for some of the characters 😂 I’m thinking Plum Tree is going to be my all spoiler tree, since I pretty much added every Grimalldi but two! Also, took new photos for my character page! And added more characters there.

15 questions tag!!

I saw people posting this, and most everybody said to treat it as an open tag, so I decided to do it too! Tagging (with no pressure at all!!) @mjparkerwriting @kainablue @karimac @melusinewrites @mayonnaisepudding and also ANYONE who wants to do it!

The concept for this is to write responses to the following questions as if you are your original character answering, or just as yourself. I haven't talked about myself much outside of my writing on here, so might as well do it now, right? So! Answering as me!

1 - Are you named after anyone?

My first name (Avery) was just a name my parents liked. My middle name is actually my grandmom's and my great grandmother's name. My mom didn't want to name me that as my first name because she thought it was better as a middle name. So that's my name!

2 - When was the last time you cried?

I cry A LOT. Over songs, commercials, movies, shows. I make myself cry sometimes because I think it's healthy to let it flow. I literally started tearing up at a book I was reading today. The last time I cried cried though (for real, not because of content or something) was when I had a super bad panic attack. I have OCD, and sometimes you get so panicked you just melt :(

3 - Do you have any kids?

Nope! I would like to have a couple in the future, though.

4 - Do you use sarcasm?

Ehh, I have tried. But I am not sarcastic. I'll do it as a joke sometimes when someone says something obvious about me (i.e. Whaaat? Me? Liking books? That's crazy!) but not in any real way.

5 - What's the first thing you notice about people?

Definitely the way they carry a conversation. If they interrupt people, seem rude or ill engaged. I like talking, but I realize that conversations involve two people. It's a big red flag when someone can't share a conversation.

6 - What is your eye color?

Brown! Lovely, if I do say so myself.

7 - Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings, no doubt. I can't actually handle scary movies (because of my OCD. Hate to blame everything on it, but it's definitely true. I ruminate way too hard on scary, violent things). I'm a sucker for a happily ever after! It's what I hope I can have one day, so I like seeing it in my media.

8 - Any special talents?

Besides writing (which I am learning to accept as a talent), I craft and sew for cosplay. I sing too, and I think I have a nice voice. I have a lot of hobbies, but I don't think most of those qualify as a "talent." I'm pretty dang good at building houses in the Sims. I think that's an underrated talent.

9 - Where were you born?

Maryland, USA

10 - What are your hobbies?

Ah, yes. I mentioned them before but let's list them: Cosplay (sewing and crafting and all that), reading, writing, drawing, painting, playing video games, baking, collecting items (is that a hobby? I do it so much I think it must be), jewelry making (it sounds so fancy but I just make little bracelets and earrings with shrink plastic sometimes).

11 - Do you have any pets?

My family does! We have four cats: Ash, Whistler, Taffy, and Pike. I grew up with cats, and I miss the ones we've lost every day. (RIP Rainier, Nauset, Odell, Asia, and Ebony.)

12 - What sports do you or have you played?

I am not a sports girly. Like AT ALL. But I did run cross country for a semester back in my freshman year of high school. I absolutely hated it. Instead, I picked up musical and children's theatre. That's almost a sport...? Generally, I like to swim and dance (I'm not good), but it's not like a "sport" really. Just for fun to move my body when I feel like it.

13 - How tall are you?

Honestly? No clue. Haven't measured in many years. Somewhere between 5'8" and 5'10" I would guess?

14 - Favorite subject in school?

I've always been really into English. (My dad was an English teacher so it was only natural.) Also, any English extracurricular like journalism and creative writing. I was actually a journalism major until halfway through college. I switched to focus on English and picked up minors in journalism and linguistics instead.

15 - Dream job?

I'm about to ship off to grad school to get my masters in library sciences, so the hope is to become a librarian. It's realistic, so I'm excited to do that someday! On the side, I really hope to be a published author. I don't expect to make much money (if any) but I just want to get my work out there for people to find if they need it.

Spent a couple hours in The Sims 2 to make a Valenpost featuring Kay and Atlas for #ockiss22! I've had these Sims for a while, but hadn't really posted anything official because I was a little embarrassed. Hopefully some other TS2 nerds can come out of the woodwork on this one ^__^

Belle: We’ve been waiting for you! What took you so long?

Indirah: Sorry for the wait, Aunt Bee. The traffic was quite bad.

Belle: It’s alright. You’re here now. Niamh, you remember Dira, right?

Niamh: Of course~ It’s nice to see you again.

Indirah: Same here.

Niamh: Oh, this is my nephew, Dom. Dom, this is Dira. You went to her brother’s wedding a few years ago with Saoirse and me, remember?

Indirah: Nice to see you here. I didn’t know you were related to Auntie Niamh.

Niamh: Oh? You know each other?

Indirah: I’ve met him several times. He lost his wallet the first time we met and he also got lost in our Campus.

Domhnall: *chuckles* That’s me. Sorry I didn’t recognize you sooner. You look different without all that tiara and stuff.

Indirah: *scoffs* Is that so? Do I really look that different?

Domhnall: Well, if I’m being honest, you look prettier without them.

Belle: Dira, dear, why don’t you take Dom to Ginny and Rainier over there? He arrived a few minutes before you and hasn’t greeted them yet. Maybe you both can greet our couple together?

Indirah: Yeah, sure.

Domhnall: What are you doing?

Niamh: Nothing~ Just go with her. You’ll thank us later.

Domhnall: Aunt—

Indirah: Dom? Are you coming?

Domhnall: Yeah, give me a sec!

Sofia: So Ginny told me that you guys are trying for a baby now. How’s it going?

Alfie: We’re still working on it.

Darien: Have you decided how many kids you want?

Alfie: We haven’t talked about it yet.

Sofia: Well, you should. Don’t go in blind. Being a parent is not like playing house.

Catalina: We’ll talk about it soon. I’m sure we’ll figure out how many we want.

Darien: You better stick to the plan or else you’re gonna end up like your Uncle Em here.

Emery: Hey! Don’t be mean. Belle and I planned to have a big family. We love the chaos.

Sofia: Mhm. Sure you do.

*Darien & Emery laughs in the background*

Catalina: Alfie?

Alfie: Hm?

Catalina: We never talked about how many kids we want.

Alfie: Mhm. I thought I’d let you decide that. You’re the one who’s gonna push them out.

Catalina: I know that. But what if I told you I only want one baby? What are you gonna do then?

Alfie: Then one child is what we’ll get.

Catalina: *clicks tongue* Alfie! Is this not important to you?

Alfie: Of course it’s important to me.

Catalina: Then why aren’t you telling me what you want? If this is important to you, we would’ve had this conversation before we got married.

Alfie: It just never crossed my mind.

Catalina: Oh, so you’re saying you never thought about having kids with me before?

Alfie: Don’t twist my words. Of course I’ve always thought about having kids with you. I just never gave it a serious thought.

Catalina: *huffs* Fine then. Since you say it like that, then I guess we’ll only have one.

Alfie: *sighs*

Alfie: Three kids, max.

Catalina: Just three?

Alfie: *snorts* What? You want more?

Catalina: *scoffs* Three is fine. Not too much. We both have three siblings too and our parents can handle that. It won’t be too hard.

Alfie: Eh~ We’ll see. If our kids take after me, they’re going to be a handful. I was a naughty kid, y’know.

Catalina: I know. Nothing I can’t handle. If I can handle their dad, I’m sure I can handle them too.

Alfie: We can handle them. You and me.

Catalina: Yes. We.

WHAT MY FATHER WOULD WANT / “GOODBYE”

[Parish Church, Brindleton Bay]

Lady Danberry: Your Royal Highness.

Prince Rainier: Hi, Aunt Agatha. It’s good to see so many of Sofie’s sorority sisters in attendance.

Lady Danberry: Yes, it is. How are you holding up, my dear nephew?

Prince Rainier: Today is a good day. Thank you for everything!

Lady Danberry: Your cousin, Chase, is so happy to be included in the program. He looks up to you, Rainier.

Prince Rainier: I know everyone here wants me to speak, and I will, but I'll let Chase do the heavy lifting. He was moms only nephew and I think Dad would approve of him taking lead on things today.

Lady Danberry: Your father was so proud of you. Hugo followed you and Kate’s every stop during the Commonwealth Tour! Your mother did too! He’d call me every day and say “Sissy, guess where Rainier is today! Guess who Rainier met today!” I know you’re in pain, dear, but don't let it overtake you. Know how much you were loved.

Prince Rainier: Thank you. Kate and the kids have been such a bright light the last few days.

Lady Danberry: As they should!

Lady Danberry: Your father... my brother, he was my everything. Since losing my husband, Clifton ten years ago, it's been Hugo to bring me joy. That joy is gone. Your mother was warmth in a bottle. Sofie was too! She’d have tea with me twice a week...

Prince Rainier: ...Sofie. I was looking forward to spending time with her the most. We had so much to catch up on.

Lady Danberry: Now may not be the best time to have this discussion, Rainier, but it's the first time I’ve had you alone. You will now inherit your parents entire estate, which includes Atlantica Park. Although it was your mothers property and not your fathers, it’s closer to you and is vacant. With your mother, father and sister gone, I have no-one left in Brindleton Bay.

Prince Rainier: You want to move to Windenburg?

Lady Danberry: I do, nephew. I’m getting old. It’s also time I right a wrong with an old friend.

Prince Rainier: The Queen Mother? You two haven't spoken in 24 years.

Lady Danberry: Walk me to my seat, dear. I think the service is about to begin.

Prince Rainier: My answer is Yes, Aunt Agatha. Mom and Dad would want no-one else but you to live in Atlantica Park.

Chase: “One thing my aunt loved almost as much as her family was the beach. Before my own mother died 9 years ago, the two of them would spend hours on the water. Aunt Ariel had just spent 7 days on the beach in Sulani with her family. I know her final days were happy!”

Chase: “Uncle Lugo, on the other hand, wasn't as much of a beach lover but he’d do anything to make his wife and daughter happy! He’d always say he had three women to please; his wife, his daughter, and his sister Agatha but little Grace was his first granddaughter and she stole the show! His greatest love was probably his only son, Rainier. Watching you grow up to now having a son of your own, surely gave him great joy. My aunt, uncle and cousin believed in family and although they died tragically, they were together as a family. This isn’t Goodbye but a See you on the other side.”

Princess Katherine: It’s not a surprise Lady Danberry would want to move back to Windenburg. You’re all she has left. I never knew she was a member of court when granny first arrived, though.

Prince Rainier: Her and the Queen Mother knew each other a long time ago. When the 20-year-old, Princess, Zarah, was schlepped over from Sulani to marry your grandfather, she didn’t know a soul. Hi!! Great question! So awhile back like years ago 😅 I was told one of my male sims was wearing their wedding ring on their middle finger instead of their ring finger. I never realized it so from then on I decided to keep that as a tradition for my Grimalldi men! Though some don't like Rainier and Chris

Wearing your wedding ring on your middle finger actually has a meaning of responsibility.
