Fellas, is it gay to kidnap your best friends guitar, make vague threats, and end up torturing an innocent guitar, so you can force him to hire a new team, because your best friend is afraid of change and pain. In which your best friend kidnaps and hides a patient of yours, refuses to get a team, and then finally relenting by hiring forty people and putting them through mind games. And both of you, while being slightly mad and exasperated at the other, are taking fun in it???
Is it gay? Surely not.

IV. Wedding Bells and a sleepy drive

The Lady’s Hand M.List
Summary: Hundreds of years ago, a plague broke out, killing most, and turning other's into violent creatures. Many thought all was lost, that was until three unlikely leaders came together and formed three kingdoms: Demesne, Theign, and Azure. Those kingdoms still stood to this day, and now, the most recent heiress of Azure is of age and is intended to marry (much to her dismay).

The next day is filled with wedding preparations. In the morning, you directed the decorating, tried different cakes (Which was your favorite part), and then did one last dress fitting. You took a break for lunch, and then it was time to sign the marriage certificate.
You, your Mother, Ellie, and the officiant, stood in the courtroom, gathered in a circle.
“Viscount Miller, please sign here.” Ellie stalks over and signs her name. Ellie Miller. But she writes so sloppily, that her name can barely be made out. “Princess Y/N, sign here.” You signed yours as usual. “Congratulations.” You nod your head before walking out.
An hour later, most of the maids in the palace gathered in your room to prepare you. Your gown was long and beautiful. It was a traditional white, with gorgeous floral detailing and a lacy layer on your skirt. It was flattering, but not too flattering to be scandalous. You felt gorgeous. You hoped that Ellie would feel the same.
You were excited to marry her. You never thought you’d be happy about who you were marrying. You never thought you’d be happy about getting married, you always assumed that you would be stuck in a loveless marriage with a man you didn’t want to know. But now, you are getting married to Ellie, a girl who you would love to know. You grinned at the thought.
You stood to the side of the chapel doors, just enough to the side where guests wouldn’t see you. Your Mother approached you with a sly smile.
“Today is the big day, Y/N. Are you ready?” You nod.
“I am.”
“Shall I escort you down the aisle?” She offers her arm to which you take.
“Of course, Mother.” You two walk in front of the doors, they swing open and everyone stands to see you. Ellie is still wearing her mask. The music starts and your Mother starts walking, guiding you along with her. You grin at Ellie.
When you got to the end of the aisle, your Mother let go of you and sat down on her throne just to the side of the arch. You took Ellie’s hands. They were sweaty, yours probably were too. The officiant clears his throat and begins. He goes on and on about a royal marriage and its details.
“Does any person here have any objection to this union?” No one says anything. “Alright then—“
“Wait!” You yell. The officiant looks at you confused. “Sorry, everyone, but I think it’s time my spouse took off the cover, right?” You smile at Ellie and slowly take off the hood and mask. People gasp and whisper with one another.
“Blasphemy! Women were not permitted to join the tournament! You cannot marry a woman!” Your Mother shouts, standing up furiously. You furrow your brows.
“But Mother, you had no quarries with it a mere second ago..” Your Mom looks to the officiant.
“The time to object has passed, your majesty.” He whispers. She scowls and sits back down begrudgingly. You take Ellie’s hands back.
“We can continue now.” You say, smiling. The officiant nods and continues reading.
“As I guide you in exchanging your vows, you, Princess Y/N L/N of Azure, and you, Viscountess Ellie Miller of Azure, will declare your intentions for a lasting partnership in love and marriage. Are you prepared to do this?”
“Yes.” You and the brunette say at the same time.
“Repeat after me, Princess,
I, Princess Y/N L/N of Azure, take you, Viscountess Ellie Miller of Azure, to be my hus—wife. I promise that from this day forward I will regard you not only as my equal partner but as my closest friend. I promise to comfort you in sickness and in health. I promise to demonstrate my commitment to you through love, laughter, and compassion.” You repeat everything, opting to leave out the slip up, though.
“Repeat after me, Viscountess.
I, Viscountess Ellie Miller of Azure, take you, Princess Y/N L/N of Azure, to be my wife. I promise that from this day forward I will regard you not only as my equal partner but as my closest friend. I promise to comfort you in sickness and in health. I promise to demonstrate my commitment to you through love, laughter, and compassion.” Ellie repeats everything back.
You squeeze Ellie’s hands and she squeezes back, offering you a bigger smile than the one she was already wearing. You smiled harder too.
“Please present one another your rings. These rings symbolize the strength of your commitment to this marriage and the love you share.” One of the many caretakers of the palace stepped up with the rings on a pillow. You take Ellie’s and slip it onto her finger, then she takes yours and slips it onto yours.
“By the power vested in me by the church of Azure, I pronounce you spiritually and lawfully united. You may kiss.” You and Ellie leaned forward and kissed slowly. You wondered if she could tell it was your first kiss.
The guests broke out into cheers and you finally pulled apart. The kiss was purely magical. You started walking down the aisle and into the carriage that was waiting for you. There was a crowd of citizens waiting for you outside, they were barricaded by the guards. Ellie first stood beside the carriage, helping you into it wearing the same grin that she’s had on since you removed her mask. Once you were inside, you helped her in. You sat on the same side of the carriage, looking out the windows and waving at the people.
This was huge. No woman had ever married another woman in the history of Azure.  You were honestly terrified of the next morning's paper, you knew there’d be people who reacted poorly, and you also knew that some of those people were sure to be people of power. You weren’t sure what the consequences of your actions would be.
Along with the anxiety surrounding the people, you were also suddenly overcome with anxiety over Ellie. What would she be like behind closed doors? You had technically been alone with her multiple times in the garden, but that didn’t count, because there weren’t doors.
Did she even see women in the same way you did? Yes, she said you were beautiful in her initial confession, but she also said she looked up to you. Was she only after the life you had? You hoped you knew her well enough after all the hours spent together in the garden, but how could you ever truly know inside someone else’s head?
When you arrived at the palace in the country, you were the first to exit the carriage, then you realized that Ellie had fallen asleep. You heaved a sigh before climbing back in, and waking Ellie.
“Ellie!” You whisper-shout. She groans before opening her eyes. Her face slowly changes from that of anger to a smile.
“Hello.”
“Hi. We’ve arrived.”
“I will never get tired of your face.” Butterflies erupt in your stomach and you smile.
“We have to go, the staff is waiting.” You start to pull away, but she grabs your wrist.
“Wait.” You raise an eyebrow at her. “We’re married.” You nod.
“Indeed we are.”
“Married couples kiss.” Oh there goes those butterflies again.
“Indeed they do.”
“Do you see where I’m going with this?” Oh. So she did want you in the way you wanted her.
“Indeed I do.”
“Are you going to kiss me then?”
“Yes. I’m working up the courage.” She stands up and places a hand on your waist.
“I have the courage.” You search her eyes before nodding. She leaned in and kissed you. It was sweet, and you never wanted it to end. Then she pulled away and put her hand on your cheek. “You’re the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.”
“I suppose that might be true, considering you have never seen yourself through my eyes.” She smiles.
“You leave me wordless more often than I’d like to admit.” You cock an eyebrow up at her.
“What are you talking about? You always have something to say.” You both laugh.
“I suppose that’s true.”
“We have to go.”
“Do we?”
“Yes.” She sighs.
“Alright. Let’s go meet the staff.”
After the tour, you and Ellie were left in your shared room alone. As soon as the door was shut, and all the maids left, Ellie attacked you. With her lips of course. She wrapped her arms around your waist, and yours wrapped around her neck. This kiss was a lot more intense than the last two, and you enjoyed it even more. Slowly, Ellie started pushing you backwards in the kiss, until your legs hit the bed, and then she pushed you onto the bed, breaking the kiss.
“You’re so pretty.” She mumbles, taking you in. She starts unbuttoning her shirt. You bite your lips and look away. “Y/N.” You look at her again. Her shirt was off now, and she looked beautiful. She looked like an angel. She was perfect— No. She was better than perfect. “Can I take this off you?” You nod eagerly, making her laugh.
You didn’t sleep until the sun peeked through the curtains. Half of the night was spent making love with your wife, the other talking and laughing with her.
As you watched her fall asleep beside you, you knew deep in your heart that everything was going to be okay. You knew that as long as she was with you, you’d be happy.
