Classic Kapamilya Teleseryes of My Childhood: A Glimpse

Watching teleseryes was a part of my childhood history. Honestly, it was just our television that entertains me when I’m staying inside our home. Whenever it’s summer break or semester break or any break at all the moment that I will get up in the morning, I’d got to watch lots of cartoons in ABS-CBN, GMA 7, and TV 5. When it is afternoon, I will watch Wowowee that later on was changed to Happy Yipee Yehey! and the Its Showtime but sometimes, I will check upon Eat Bulaga. In the afternoon, I will go out and play but during the night, when I came home from school, I will catch upon my favorite Primetime shows. With that, I therefore conclude that I’m a certified Kapamilya!

ABS-CBN have greatly shared a lot of success for Philippines’ entertainment industry as its television dramas have told many stories summed up by artists, writers, producers, and staffs of the said media company.

This time, I want you to take a look with me all the works of art that I really loved to watch when I was a kid. Let me enlist them all down to you:

1. Agua Bendita

This was aired on Philippine television last September 3, 2010 starring Andi Eigenmann who portrayed Agua Cristi and Bendita Cristi, Mateo Gudicelli, Jason Abalos and many more. Because I was a kid back then, the young Agua Bendita version that was played by Xyrille Manabat caught my attention. Thr drama that was played by the characters experienced connected to my feelings. I remembered that that I also cried in some scenes. To be honest, I’m not that kind of person who cries in every little dramatic thing. To rate this, I’ll give nine. I will never forget their theme song “Malayo pa ang umaga”. Yes! I sang it all the time, “Hanggang kailan matitiis ang paghihirap ko.”

2. May Bukas Pa

This one-year aired drama series was close to my heart because of Santino or Zaijan Jaranila’s genuine role. I remembered that I supported this drama maybe because I got to watched it every time before I go to sleep. I’ll rate this one, eight.

3. I Love Betty La Fea

This 2008 drama is chill and good as it was casted mainly by Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz. I only got to watch this sometime. I will never forget Beatriz Pengson as an ugly duckling but has a good heart to all. The outline of the story is good at all for even kids can learn something from it. I’ll rate it 7.

4. Princess and I

The teleserye made me a Kathniel fan back then. I loved the way how kayhryn daniel and Enrique were just simple that time. Actually, I really sensed that Kathryn and Daniel will be a very good love team. This drama was interesting because its plot is quite unique than other series. Choosing Bhutan as a setting is a good one. I remembered that I always sang Nag-iisang Bituin before because of its dramatic and hopeful effect. I’ll rate this one, eight.

5. Be Careful with My Heart

This 2 year and 6 months old teleserye was light and good. Before “It’s Showtime”,I always waited for it because the story is very catchy. I also liked the way Maya (Jodi Sta. Maria) and Sir Chief (Richard Yap) had created their chemistry. The series is family perfect and as a kid I learned a lot from this. I rate it 9.

6. Kokey At Ako (2007)

This fantasy film was enjoyable to watch because it is child friendly. The problem that the characters faced was good and entertaining. These are times that I laughed when watching this. I’ll rate it 7.

7. Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara (2008)

Reminiscing, I felt scared everytime I watch this but it is nice. When horror scenes came in, I tend to change the channel. I’ll rate it 7.

8. Annaliza

This is a heartfelt story because it shown how Annaliza’s (Andrea Brillantes) life was hard while she is growing. She was adopted and the family she’s living with didn’t give the life that a lod should have. Like goin to school. But despite of all struggles in her life, she used these to boost herself to strive in life on her own and don’t lose hope. This taught me a lot of lessons, still be thankful to God even though her not real family didn’t give not so good life to her, they still gave her a house to live and food to eat. I’ll rate this 9.

Cracks

(Craft Essay) ni Kelsey Cabaraban

Ang Cracks ay isang Independent Film na pinalabas noong 2009 sa direksyon ni Jordan Scott. Ito ay isang Psychological Thriller na tumutalakay sa isang guro na may paghuhumaling sa isang estudyante. Si Miss G ay isang guro sa isang boarding school. Sa paaralan na ito, mayroong mga piling mga estudyante sa kanilang swimming team na pinamumunuan ni Di Radfield. Isang araw, dumating ang isang estudyanteng aristocrat galing sa Espanya na si Fiamma. Nararamdaman ni Di na ang lahat ng atensyon at pokus ni Miss G ay patungo kay Fiamma at nagseselos si Di. Pinag-api ni Di si Fiamma dahil inaasa niya na babalik si Fiamma sa Espanya ngunit hindi ito nangyari sapagkat sinubukan nila maging magkaibigan. Nagplano ang buong grupo magkaroon ng isang midnight feast at habang nagsalu-salo sila, nalasing si Fiamma at tinulungan ito ni Miss G. Dinala ni Miss G si Fiamma sa kanyang kwarto subalit ginahasa niya si Fiamma. Nasaksihan ito ni Di. Sa susunod na araw, napagtanto ni Miss G na ang kanyang ginawa ay makaapekto sa kanyang pagtuturo dahil balak ni Fiamma na isumbong sa mga ibang guro. Ginamit ni Miss G ang mga damdamin ni Di para sa kanya at sinabihang si Fiamma ang gumahasa sa kanya. Nagalit si Di kay Fiamma at sama sa kanyang grupo, binugbog nila si Fiamma. Nagkaroon ng asthma attack si Fiamma. Natakot ang grupo at tumakbo sila. Dumarating si Miss G na inobserba niya ang nangyari sa malayo. Hindi niya binigay ang inhaler ni Fiamma, at namatay si Fiamma. Nasaksihan ito ni Di at napagtanto niya ang katotohana. Hinarap ng buong grupo si Miss G at binigay nila balik ang kanilang mga sintas na isang simbolo sa kanilang pagalis nila sa swimming team. Sa huli, umalis si Di upang maglakbay tulad ng mga kwento ni tinatalakay ni Fiamma sa kanya.

Hindi man binabanggit sa karakter ni Miss G ngunit may mga ebidensya na mayroon siyang personality disorder kung susuriin ang kanyang karakter. Ayon sa MentalHealthAmerica.net, mayroong mga iba’t-ibang sintomas ng personality disorders ayon sa kanilang mga kategorya. Sa pelikula, may mga ipinapakita na mga sintomas ng Cluster B personality disorder si Miss G. Ang Cluster B personality disorder kay nagpapakita ng Dramatic, Emotional o Erratic Behavior. Una sa lahat, nagpapakita si Miss G ng isang sintomas ng Cluster B personality disorder na antisocial behavior o hindi makahalubilo sa mga tao. Nakikita sa isang eksena sa pelikula na lumabas si Miss G sa paaralan upang bumili ng mga pagkain para sa kay Fiamma. Nakikita sa eksenang ito na nagkagulo at napapakita ng sindak si Miss G habang nasa siya sa labas. Ito rin ay nakikita sa huling eksena niya kung saan hindi siya nagpapakita sa lipunan at ibinubukod niya ang kanyang sarili sa isang kwarto.

Ikalawang sintomas na ipinapakita ni Miss G ay ang pagkakaroon ng unstable mood swings o bigla-biglaang pagbabago ng mga emosyon. Mayroong mga eksena na masaya pa si Miss G subalit bigla nalang siyang nagalit sa susunod na eksena. Sa mga eksenang ito, nagpapakita rin siya ng irritable behavior kung saan madali lang siya magalit sa kahit maliliit lang na mga bagay.

Higit sa lahat, nagpapakita siya ng personality disorder noong emotionally manipulative siya kay Di sa paraan na ginamit niya ang mga damdamin ni Di sa kanya upang makuha ang kanyang gusto kahit na kasinungalingan ang kanyang mga sinasabi. Nagpapakita rin siya ng personality disorder noong ginahasa niya si Fiamma. Sa pagtatapos, ang Cracks ay isang Psychological Thriller na pelikula na ipinalabas noong 2009 sa direksyon ni Jordan Scott. Ito ay isang pelikula na nagpapakita sa isang guro na nagpapakita ng personality disorders.
