Q3 + Q18 if you feel like it 😝
i always feel like it ESPECIALLY when im the only one at work and don't want to read my book on the desk (this has been the longest week ever) so thank u for this #distraction
3. what fic are you emotionally attached to?
ummmm all of them and none of them? idk. I'm generally attached to whatever I'm working on (chicfest, fantasyfest, folk au) and then once it's posted I'm like... whatever. goodbye.
of past fics...green gloves and in clover bc they r interesting... to what will come ahead & echo of the future bc i wrote them more because they r worlds i love and they pushed me beyond what i thought i could do and i think they are fics that will lead me to write things i wouldn't have been able to write without writing them first. All about that #process!
18. Do you only write when you’re inspired, or do you try and sit down at specific times and write no matter what?
a mix... you could probably break my writing down into like: stuff i wrote while inspired, stuff i wrote because i wanted to WRITE but didn't have any particular vision or inspiration, and stuff i wrote because i sat down to write at a specific time (usually this one is like... filler within a larger fic so it's coming out of one of the previous two categories). If that makes sense? I do sometimes think about trying to sit down and write for say, 30min every day, or 500 words or something.
ultimately, especially with like the second two categories, I worry that readers can tell that my "heart isn't in it" and then i feel bad about that. even though i quite like the act of writing even if it is just to write and not necessarily something i care a lot about.... i also care about the quality I guess. But also the more I write the better I get... anyway with my prospective big fic project (folk au) I've been trying to wait and build up "inspired moments" but pretty soon here I'm going to crack and just start writing it properly and what comes out is what you get. idk what is better... it is what it is
