will keep you on the edge of your seat all the way to the end - and clamoring for more." - Ella Monroe, author of Capital Girls "Sadie Hayes has blown me away. "Social Code is a non-stop thrill ride through the dark side of Silicon Valley, where brilliant young computer geeks seek fortune, fame, and love. Can Amelia find a way to save their company before it's too late? Patty finds a new boyfriend-and a fascinating new job-to distract her from Chad Adam becomes involved with an older woman who seems to be as interested in Doreye as he is and TJ starts to notice that Amelia is more than just a computer nerd with the tensions running high, Adam makes a decision that topples Amelia's carefully constructed life and sets off a chain of events that could threaten the future of Doreye. As they grow farther apart, others grow closer together. As if that weren't hard enough on their relationship, Adam and Amelia are both keeping secrets from each other, the kinds of secrets that could change everything if revealed. While Adam has money signs in his eyes and enough charm to win over the investors, Amelia decides she wants to give away their app for free, leading to discord and a separation of responsibilities-and power. After facing down skepticism, a meddler from their past and a saboteur who makes their app malfunction right when it matters most, drama suddenly seems to be brewing within the ranks. Amelia and Adam's new company, Doreye, may have won over Silicon Valley, but the trouble is far from over. The Next Big Thing is the second page-turning installment in Sadie Hayes' Start-Up series, following twin college students Amelia and Adam as they attempt to make it in the competitive world of Silicon Valley. This is a tremendous package from Acrobat and well recommended to Hayes fans and jazz enthusiasts.

Also included is a brilliant liner essay by British saxophonist Simon Spillett that's not only full of historical data, but cultural insight. While it's worthy of complaint that the original albums are not presented wholly together, separated by discs, it's actually minor. The sound on this set is excellent the music was remastered from original tapes, not vinyl. Disc six contains the final three jams from that album, which features a dynamite reading of George Gershwin's "Love Walked In." The last album in this set is Tubby's Groove, recorded in December 1959 with Jazz Couriers pianist Terry Shannon and drummer Phil Seaman, along with new bassist Jeff Clyne. The full-length London Jazz Quartet album is here, as well as the first half of the Jazz Couriers' The Last Word, from 1959. It also includes six of the eight tracks from The Couriers of Jazz the remaining two kick off disc five. The remainder contains the EP The Eighth Wonder - Hayes also plays baritone, alto, vibes, and piano on the record - with bassist Phil Bates and drummer Bill Eyden. It is followed by four cuts - including Hayes' killer "Plebus" from an August 15 session - and capped off by a live date in February of 1958 that featured the band playing a spirited read of Scott's "Some of My Best Friends Are Blues" that carries over to the rest of the record, The Jazz Couriers in Concert, on disc four. Disc three begins in 1957 with the album Tubby Hayes and the Jazz Couriers Featuring Ronnie Scott, recorded on August 8, as well as an alternate of "On a Misty Night" from a Tempo anthology. The second also contains two tracks from the early Jazz Couriers, released on the historic Jazz at the Flamingo, recorded during in the summer of 1956. The first two discs here are almost entirely devoted to the Tubby Hayes Orchestra (actually an octet), whose dates were released on 7" EPs as well as the LPs British Modern Jazz Scene 1956 and After Lights Out. Some of the other notable players that recorded with him during this historic period are trumpeters Jimmy Deuchar and Dickie Hawdon, bassist Pete Blannin, drummers Lennie Breslaw and Tony Crombie, and, of course, saxophonist Ronnie Scott, to name a few. Admired by American and European players alike, he stands as one of the great masters of the horn, period. This whopping six-disc set comprises the early bop and hard bop solo output of tenor saxophone giant and bandleader (as well as a pianist and vibraphonist) Tubby Hayes, one of a handful of players who put British jazz on the map in the 1950s.

ABOUT
Rory's life can be summed up in one word. Or two. Lonely, and alone. For the first sixteen years of her life, she was raised by her single mother Sadie without any knowledge of who her father might have been. It wasn't until Sadie was weeks away from succumbing to her terminal illness that Rory was told a Jeffrey Cross in Atlanta was her father. However, there was little time for Rory to do a thing about it between the grief of losing her mother and being swept into the care system.
Her life then became even lonelier, despite being surrounded by others in hostels or placement families but Rory could never settle especially considering she was half wolf. She could never relate to anybody around her, retreating into escapism with books and stories. She's always been a little odd, awkward and nervous, certain that everyone she meets in her life will just be a fleeting face.
Even after she aged out of the care system, Rory didn't start looking for her father until ten years ago. She was too wrapped up in trying to make sense of being a human adult and a wolf, and why rent was so expensive and why she's been on the same friend's couch for three weeks. By the time she reached Atlanta, she was too late and news of the Cross pack moving to New York was her next bit of information. With nothing to lose, or nothing really worth losing, Rory went on to the big city.
Rory definitely found more than she bargained for in the form of four older brothers and a host of cousins. However, their father Jeffrey wanted absolutely nothing to do with her. His recent disappearance and then confirmed death hasn't shaken Rory the way she thinks it should have, as she saw over the years how he treated his sons and also herself. She's not sure exactly why she hasn't cried about it, but the muddy boots and gloves she still hasn't managed to throw away for a few years is definitely gnawing at her conscious. And the fact she promised Hunter she had definitely got rid of them like...years ago.

Mainstream superhero storytelling tends to do better when depicting physical powers than emotional/mental ones, which is one of the many reasons why the premise of Lauren Shippen's upcoming young adult novel, The Infinite Noise, so intrigues me...
Based on Shippen's award-winning podcast, The Bright Sessions, The Infinite Noise follows 16-year-old running back Caleb Michaels who has the supernatural ability to feel other people's emotions. High school is a hard place to have the power of extreme empathy, and classmate Adam is an emotional calm in the storm. Told from both boys points-of-view, The Infinite Noise is a coming-of-age story with a supernatural twist (not to mention a queer love story!), and I can't wait to read it.

CALEB
“School starts tomorrow, correct?” Dr. Bright asks after a few moments of silence.             “Yep,” I say.             More silence. I’m getting used to these standoffs. I just wish I was better at winning them. But Dr. Bright pins me with a stare and I eventually give in, every time.             “I don’t wanna go back,” I mumble, face heating. “Why not?” she asks, like the answer isn’t obvious.             “Because being in high school when you can feel everyone’s feelings is a complete nightmare?” I answer dryly.             “You’ve made some good strides since November, Caleb,” she soothes. I sense it more in her emotions than her voice, and it grates. I don’t want to be soothed right now.             “Yeah, whatever,” I bite.             “Caleb”—there’s that stare again and the soothing hardens— “what have we talked about?”             “Don’t deflect emotion with being an asshole,” I recite, and there’s a small, quick glow within the perfectly even Therapist Mode that Dr. Bright’s emotions operate in.             “I don’t remember putting it quite that way,” she smirks, “but yes. When you’re overwhelmed or refusing the input from your ability, you respond with anger. And we don’t want a repeat of what happened with Tyler.”             “Yeah, I know,” I sigh. “It’s just easier, you know?” “What’s easier?”             “Feeling annoyed or mad at stuff,” I say.             “It might be an easy way to push away the other feelings,” she tells me, “but it won’t help you process them.”             We sit in silence again but this time Dr. Bright is the one to break it.             “How was it being with your family the past few weeks?” she asks.             “Um, it was good, I guess,” I say. “I mean, I feel like I’ve gotten used to their feelings, you know? So, like, I’m able to balance them a bit. But it’s not like that in school.”             “What helps you balance your family’s emotions?”             “Well, there’s only three of them, so that helps. And even when their feelings are annoying or whatever, I can kinda tell who they belong to. They’re familiar.”             “Has the color system proved useful?” she asks.             “Yeah, I guess so,” I say, thinking about how Dr. Bright feels warm and yellow right now. “Like, it doesn’t always make things easier, but it’s definitely something.”             “Do you think that could help at school?”             “I don’t know,” I admit. “There’s just so much. There’s too much, you know . . .”             “Input?” she suggests.             “Yeah, exactly. And so I can’t process, like, any of it, and that’s when I get overwhelmed.”             She purses her lips and I feel the itchiness that I’ve come to know as Dr. Bright working through stuff in her head. It feels like I’m trying to solve a math problem I don’t understand.             “The familiarity of your family’s emotions makes it easier for you to balance your ability,” she repeats. “Is there anyone at school who could do the same thing?”             “What?”             “Is there someone—a teammate or friend—who you feel comfortable around? Someone whose emotions you could focus on when you get overwhelmed?” The itchiness settles as she says this, like this is really a solution to my Problem.             “Um, no, not really,” I admit. “I have friends and stuff but no one . . .”             I find myself thinking of the last day of school, going into the library and knowing, just knowing, that Adam Hayes was there. And then he was so startled and his feelings were all over the place, but there was something—             “No one . . . ?” Dr. Bright prompts.             “No one whose feelings fit,” I finish. “I don’t know that focusing on anybody at school is actually going to help.”             “Well,” she says, “something to think about?” “Yeah.” I nod. “Something to think about.”
But I don’t have time to think about it, because the first few days of school are lost in a haze of other people’s bullshit. I got to English early today so that I’d have time to settle in before the onslaught of emotions, and it’s not exactly working. I have to close my eyes as the other students start coming into the room. I try to sift through the feelings; focus on the colors and try to figure out what I’m going to be up against for the next hour.             Red. Anger. That one’s pretty obvious. And it’s an emotion that I’m super familiar with. Black sludge. I think that one is disappointment. But this is worse—this is dripping sludge. Hot and cold all at once. Ugh, I hate this one. I feel it all the time but I can’t figure out what’s different about it. And it makes me want to jump off a bridge.             Soft blue. It settles behind my eyes and makes my head heavy. Exhaustion. Dr. Bright tells me that being tired isn’t a real emo- tion, but I don’t buy it. There’s a certain kind of tired—a bone-deep weariness—that definitely qualifies as an emotion. Off-white. Soft. Suffocating. Sadness.             Red again.             Black sludge.             Black sludge.             Black sludge.             God, it’s literally the first week of the semester, can’t people just chill? Pins and needles under my skin. My breathing picks up. Traffic- cone orange. Stress. Oof, a lot of stress. And then. Quiet. Blue-green. Not sharp like red and orange, but deep. Endless. It fills me up, empties me out. Clears out the sludge, the pins and needles, but makes me tense. Restless.             I open my eyes. Find his.             Adam.
6
ADAM
  Caleb.
Why is it that, for the past week, every time I walk into a room, he’s staring at me? It’s like he has some sort of radar—he catches my eye wherever I go. If I didn’t know any better, I’d assume that some dark, omniscient power was out to make my life miserable. Not that I am particularly bereft in the misery department. But this just seems especially cruel.             His eyes. His fucking eyes. Sad and curious and beautiful and angry; like he’s angry that I’m there. Like he resents my existence. Part of me wonders if he’s still upset about the stupid library encounter last semester—the staring started just after that—but Caleb doesn’t seem like the type to hold a grudge. And yet here we are, a new semester, and his eyes are always on me.             So who’s going to turn away first? Every time I want it to be him—I want to stare him down until he gets scared and has to look away. There’s something about him that makes me want to fight. But every time his eyes find mine, they look straight into me and make mincemeat of my insides. So I don’t fight; I cave. I’m always the one to look away first.             Even if I wanted to fight, I couldn’t hold my own against Caleb Michaels. Not many people could. Tyler has been significantly subdued since the fight, and that’s Tyler—I thought the guy was fearless. I take one more quick glance at Caleb and try, for the thousandth time, to imagine him breaking a guy’s nose. I know it happened, but there’s something about it that just doesn’t compute. I don’t feel threatened when I catch him looking at me. I feel . . .             Never mind. Not a productive train of thought.             I walk toward the back of the room to my desk—conveniently and purposefully located behind Caleb so I don’t have to look at his face. The back of his neck is still visible and provides its own unique brand of torture, but it’s an easy battle compared to his eyes.             Enough about him. What are we doing today? I squint at the board. We’re still on Macbeth. Good. No romance in that, not really. Just murder and politics, the best distractions.             “I can’t believe he said yes! That’s amazing.”             “Gee, thanks for the vote of confidence, Caitlin.”             Perfect. Jessica and Caitlin have settled into the desks behind me and seem particularly excited about the day’s gossip. Yay, hooray.             “Sorry, you know what I mean,” Caitlin says, trying to soothe her. “It’s just that taking the quarterback to Sadie Hawkins is kind of a big deal.”             “I know!” I can hear the smile on Jessica’s face. I guess she asked Ryan to the dance, then. Even I have to admit that they’ll make a nice-looking couple—with their shiny hair, tan skin, and perfect Colgate smiles. It’s exhausting.             “Now it’s your turn,” Jessica says. “You need to grow a pair and ask him!”             “Ugh, I know,” Caitlin says, “and I will. I promise. Just . . . let me get through this week. I need to nail this Macbeth project and then I’ll ask him. Seriously.”             “Okay, okay,” Jessica concedes, “but you need to stop stressing about this paper. You already have an A.”             “And I’d like to keep it that way, thank you very much.” I can’t see her, but I just know Caitlin is preening while she says this. I find her early-morning chatter irritating beyond belief, but the girl is smart. And she never lets you forget it.             “Fair enough. Just don’t wait too long.” Jessica’s voice drops to a whisper. “Caleb’s one of the cutest guys in our class. Someone is gonna snatch. Him. Up.”             I freeze. Mr. Collins has turned to us and started speaking, but all I hear is blood rushing in my ears. I should have expected this—I know I should have—but it still catches me by surprise.             Caleb is the cutest guy in our class, even if I would be the last person to admit it (though the first one to think it). But he’s never dated anyone. I’ve never seen him so much as check out a cheerleader. For a while, I thought maybe I’d gotten crazy lucky, maybe Caleb didn’t want to chase girls like the rest of the football team, but now I’m not sure. He doesn’t check out anyone. Since the beginning of the school year, he’s gotten quiet and kept to himself and goddammit if that doesn’t make him even more appealing.

GRAPS AND CLAPS DOES XMAS GRAPS
Hello again everyone and welcome to another rundown of my weekend of graps which was the eventual reaching of the 100 show marker and even more. It has been a long and arduous journey but thankfully I am there!! This review will include Show 99, 100, 101 & 102 taking me to Preston for 3 shows of PCW and Halifax for BWE Wrestling, so lets get into the highlights, beer and lack of Chicken & Rice in Halifax.
PCW on Friday staged a show at its Academy which is home to some of the best up and comers in the North West with Philip Michael, Rhio, Dave Birch and Sheikh El Sham leading the charge. This show however had a festive feel to it including a Elf on a Shelf Ladder Match, Santa Battle Royal, BIG T’s Naughty list, Mrs Christmas’s revenge and a Christmas deathmatch.
As a show very much played for laughs, PCW got it very on point. BIG Ts Naughty List was a special favourite of mine with him issuing death sentences to a number of PCW Academy luminaries including Freakshow and a guy doing a Baywatch gimmick. These two stuck out especially as they got chopped into orbit by BIG T with the crowd hailing T with the ‘12 Days of BIG T’.
From a wrestling side of things the Elf on a Shelf ladder match was the best of the night with Martin Kirby facing Dave Birch. The purpose of this match was for one of the competitors to climb the ladder and sit a top of it, like the said Elf on a Shelf.
Very good 10 minute match with Birch coming off really well despite him ending up losing when Kirby eventually climbed up the ladder. Birch who is maybe the lesser talked of the 4 mentioned from the Academy has had some good matches on the undercard and does his role well as the angry Preston Jesus.
Similar the 3 way Xmas deathmatch involving James Finn, Philip Michael and PCW Academy original Jack Baron was another good effort. Many Xmas items were used including brussel sprouts (one of which hit our Geoff very hard on his bonce), broken candy cane, BIG TREE JUSTICE and wrapping paper.
James Finn got the surprise win here pinning Jack Baron, which makes a change as Finn is usually the 'Canvasback’ of the Academy in and out of his Arcadian get up.
Main event was T-Bone putting his title on the line vs Sheikh El-Sham who apart from Philip Michael is my hot tip for 2018. He has the looks, can do promos with his pet snake from the local pet shop , also he can do the wrestling side of things as well - keep a watch out for him.
The usual pre match scowling at me passed, it was down to business in a match where T-Bone dominated his young opponent eventually putting him away with a piledriver for the win in 10 minutes. But hopefully look for The Sheikh being around the top of the card next year 👍
Other happenings included Rhio vs Lauren in a Christmas Cracker match, Fludder winning the battle royal and putting his name in the hat for a PCW Title shot and a match which was either the funniest or worst thing I have seen all year when a Naughty Tree faced Jennie B - just Oh Dear 😣
Saturday dinner time’s show took place at Evoque Nightclub and was the first women’s show to grace the venue since the still infamous Pro Wrestling EVE show, which has been referred to in this column on many occasions.
Due to the small crowd of about 50, which was a shame, but I guess it was hit with being one of the last Saturday shopping days and also Xmas parties. So we gravitated from our usual standing position to the more snug surroundings of one of the booths for the first time ever.
With quite a few of the women being first time in front of my eyes, I was intrigued to how it would pan out. Luckily there was some very good things here:
First up was Sierra Loxton who bases her character on a Frozen Princess vs the ever improving Rhio who was due for a PCW Womens title shot in the evening show. Rhio has come on leaps and bounds since her start as Iestyn Rees manager last year where she looked very nervous and didn’t have that presence that a heel manager would have, but this year she has blossomed into a very competent wrestler and it was shown her that her improvement has come on leaps and bounds for which she has to be commended for.
Loxton as well looked very fluid here and it provided a good start to the show with Rhio picking up the win with the faceplant DDT.
Lady Chardonnay who has recently returned from a tour of Japan faced off with Jayde from Bedford. Another good match, Jayde on defence from the attacks of Chardonnay looked good and worked well with the more experienced former Chavette. Don’t be surprised to see these two pop up at more shows in 2018.
Jayla Dark vs Sadie Gibbs was a hard hitting affair. Gibbs who has just recently made her wrestling debut and has had a WWE tryout, looks the part from an initial impression with her well built physique from her Fitness days and athleticism she has the tools to make it big. Dark got the victory here in a good match.
Nightshade vs Lauren was the main event in a Falls Count Anywhere match with the chance to be the next potential contender for the women’s title. This was possibly the best Lauren match you will see, away from her usual opponents Rhio and Jennie B she stopd out more against a good baddie like Nightshade who got the victory in a hard fought match giving Nightshade a shot at the title vs Rhio in the evening show after Greg Lambert stripped Champion Lucy Cole due to the 90 day rule.
In other matches Jennie B beat Molly Spartan and Joker in a bit of a meh affair and Crowd favourite Session Moth beating Nadia Sapphire in comedy filled match as ever with Martina who is a really good character, Sapphire on the other hand - less said the better.
Evening show
Crowd attendance was up from the afternoon show reaching around the 150 marker to see the climax of the PCW year which has been a successful one from a quality standpoint. Starting off was Philip Michael vs Arcadian vs Dave Birch vs Martin Kirby vs Jack Baron in a fast and furious 5 way starter with Philip Michael picking up a much needed win with the fujiwara armbar submission.
Very happy to see Jack Baron back on the shows again, when he first made his debut on the Academy shows him and Jack Garvin (not sure where he went) had a good little tag team going.
After the announcement that The Hooligans were now stripped of the tag team titles due to the 90 day rule again, it was then announced that a tag team tournament for the PCW Tag Straps would take place at the Road 2 Glory show in February. Roy Knight who made an appearance for this announcement was made to face Joe Coffey in a hard hitting match which was won by Knight. After the match Knight was interrupted by PCW antagonist Tel Banham who distracted Knight enough to be attacked by BIG T, luckily for Knight - Joe Coffey regained his bearings to fend off the baddies. Banham and BIG T were soon back to face Joey Hayes and Danny Hope in a match to stake each others claim to the tag belts and it was Banham and BIG T who picked up win after Briefcase Wanker Banham used the assisted briefcase shot for the win.
Banham has been one of the standout characters this year in PCW and has moved in a upwards direction since the awful interaction he had with MVP at the February show which saw record queues at the Evoque bogs it was that bad.
Next up was Nightshade vs Rhio for the PCW Women's Title. Really good match here with the crowd firmly behind Rhio to lift her eventually to victory when she hit the faceplant ddt for the win over the grumpy Nightshade who impressed onlookers as well. This was well deserved for Rhio as she looked overcome with emotion when I spoke with her briefly during the in-ring photos.
Next up was a Submission Match between Cruiserweight Champion Dean Allmark and Chris Ridgeway. Decent match with both guys straying away from the usual high flying offence which you usually can expect from a Deano match and it was Allmark who picked up the surprise victory and now goes into 2018 as champion.
In the other matches before the main event were Sheikh El Sham getting a big win over Ricky Knight Jr with a Spear. Also Martinas Christmas party that turned into another match , this was very much 'was what it was' 😦. Main event was T-Bone vs Bubblegum for the PCW Championship with the stipulation of if Bubblegum didn't win he wouldn't get another shot whilst Bone was still Champion. Sadly this match even though good for the duration ended abruptly due to Bubblegum's troublesome back striking again and he fell to the 1-2-3 which was a shame for an audience expectant for a title win finally for Bubblegum.
The huge announcement of the evening though was the big news about an entrant into the Road 2 Glory tournament in February with the chimes of Dschingis Khan ringing around Evoque - The big return of UHAA NATION to Preston and Fludders Spare Room was met with a great reaction from the arm waving right hand booth section of Evoque.
Overall PCW put on a great variety of shows for the 2 days and ends a good year for the promotion. Maybe search out the Rhio title win and Ridgeway vs Allmark submission match on demand and if you haven't already I suggest you purchase your tickets for the February Road 2 Glory shows.
Sunday took me to Halifax at the North Bridge Leisure Centre for BWE Wrestling Christmas Carnage with the promise of Chicken Curry and Rice on offer being an arm twister for going but to no avail as we were left with bags of 50p Seabrook crisps and £1.50 cans of coke 😢 Only 5 matches on this show but still a hefty 2 and a bit hours run time.
First up was Swagzilla Sean Kustom from the sunny climbs of Australia vs 'The Bombay Badboy', 'Your Weekly Fix of Bombay Mix' from the grey skies of Bratfurd - Amir Jordan in a Santas Submission match. Jordan was over like rover with the Halifax crowd, dad dancing was arife once again and got him instantly over. In a good 10 minute match Jordan got the camel clutch submission victory to the delight of the crowd. Amir is someone who could have a very good 2018 thanks to this and his recent Progress debut.
Womens action next with Amarah 'The Voodoo Queen' vs BWE Bombshells Champion Little Miss Roxxy. Most of this match involved Roxxy running away from the scary Amarah but she eventually got the upper hand and won 'but not so easily'.
Third match was Tel Banham vs Former OVW Champion Chris Silvio in a Turkey Suit match. Lots of interaction was had here between Banham and the Tidal Wrestling NANA from the other week who delivered a swift right hook that Anthony Joshua would be proud of to Tel. She also got involved later on during the main event trying to hide and stop Sean Only from using a bat - she has been a highlight on these undergraps shows for getting involved and the wrestlers play up to.
This match was worked around Banham chop blocking an already injured Silvio, but it was Silvio who soon regained his bearings to fell Banham to defeat and with Turkey suit in hand it was time for Turkey Tel to come to life. Very good fun match this and Silvio proved his popularity with a decent sized queue for pictures at half time.
After the break which involved BIG T telling some little scamps to leave the ring, it was 'AND' John McGregor w/Sexy Kev vs Bas Ban w/Rory Coyle - the latter of which was giving Spike Trivets mate from last week - Ben jip about the spitting incident. Alright sub 8 minute match with McGregor trying to down his larger opponent, but due to distractions from the outside it was Bas Ban who hit a giant tackle for the win and it looks like now that the Sons of Ulaid now have a BWE Tag Title shot.
Main event was a 6-way gauntlet match starting off with Sean Only with previously said 'bat' sending Sexy Kev and Big T packing before the arrival of Liam Slater who pulled off one of the best good guy showings I have seen in ages, he came through Only, El Ligero and eventually Champion HT Drake to end what we thought was a fantastic 20 minute match. That was until GM Dan James swerved Slater into defending his title vs a 7th contender - Tel Banham. The already knackered Slater fell to the USHI-GO-RUSHI from Banham to lose the strap to the jeers of the crowd, Chris Silvio then rushed in to send James and Banham scarpering to the back whilst also asking for a future shot at the title.
All I could think of after this match was how has Liam Slater gone missing from the general scene. I know he has been doing NGW and WCPW, but for the life of me he could easily fit into many promotions in the UK. BWE pulled off a very good Sunday afternoons entertainment for a tenner despite the lack of hot buffet, I certainly wouldn't put you off one going one of their shows.
Food & Drink: Hogarths Preston - Festive Reindeer Ale which tasted like a Reindeer had shat in it, not nice. The Guild Ale House - 5% White Stout and another light ale were had here, both in the £2.90 a pint range. This is maybe the best real ale outlet in Preston and now has a new upstairs room to move away from the usually packed front of house.
The Twelve Tellers Preston - 2 pints of Saltaire Brewery at a cost of £2.29 and a special offer of £4.99 Lamb Rogan Josh were the order of the day and I have got to say the curry passed with flying colours. Evoque - £3 for Coke and £4.30 for Tyskie, usual standard fare.
The Pump Room Halifax - Pint of 5% Scottish Stout at a cost of £3.40, also the barman lighting a new candle due to a public fingering the previous night that put paid to another candle.
Percy Shaw Halifax - Standard Spoons with a great view of the rolling Yorkshire hills, Pint of 6% Wobbly Bob was had here at a cost of £2.29 - good pint.
Alexandra Beer Cafe Halifax - half a pint of 7% Northern Monk Blueberry Stout at a cost of £2.40 was a welcome addition to the tastebuds after the overpriced £1.50 a can of coke at the wrestling.
Last but not least is a new addition to the Halifax beer and music scene - The Lantern which has a good range of craft ale on offer and by the looks of it all under £4 a pint. I had half of the Tiny Rebel Blackberry and Marshmallow stout which was a treat - £1.90 a half.
Chants of the Weekend "SEXY SEXY KEV SEXY KEV SEXY SEXY KEV NO JON"!!
"PURPLE HAIR PURPLE HAIR ONLY WANT TO SEE YOU WRESTLING WITH YOUR PURPLE HAIR"

"SHEIKH EL SHAMBLES"!!
So that is that till the 28th December and Futureshock Wrestling in Prestwich for the next review. But that won't be the last time you will be hearing from me as my dulcet tones will be featuring on The Indy Corner's Year End Show soon with a minute and a half bit on my favourite show of the year. Which for someone who has only started these reviews in March this year, I am really chuffed about even though it is only a small thing #grapsandclaps.
