i think the pov switch is actually effective here in showing how many people are concerned about lola. If we were looking from her perspective right now we wouldn't be seeing any of this since she deleted her insta etc, none of the messages would be coming through. It would be her, in such a bad place, met with radio silence from everyone around her. Idk, it's an opinion 🤷‍♀️

New favourite theory on benny:

Mum was benny, letters weren't being answered so the mum tried the anonymous social media way. It shows that the mum was a mess and even though she was self destructive and couldn't escape her own demons. She had an awareness of what her family was suffering especially her youngest daughter Lola. She had guilt and love and tried to show it in her own way.

Daphne is benny but hasn't always been. The mum died and daphne knowing or finding out continued for her as benny to give Lola comfort and the support Lola clearly got from benny. It gives Lola a chance to see that when she was violent to herself and angry, those in her life never gave up on her. Daphne and the mother the ones that hurt her the most at her worst. And it allows Lola to see just how much Daphne has always loved her. That she would try to protect her from something that could make her break. And finally it doesn't drag the sisters back to square 1. Lola may have a wobble over the truth but ultimately with the new growth she has shown through the season, she will come to understand why the benny situation is the way it is.

Like at this point the bio dad being a big benny plot. Just where does it fit with what we have left of the season? I suspect she may discover her bio dad photo and throw it away showing the audience that lola has chosen this family. The family she once rejected and kept running from. And she has the chance of a pure blood connection now and she chooses Thierry and Daphne. Showing healing, acceptance and connection.

Aymeric: like she does relapse per the trailer. But i really hope we don't see him again. Again it eats into the very little time in the season we have left.

And i do think david shooting this like the final season, he has created time for a proper goodbye to our old generation. I'm hoping 10 will be more multi POV. We haven't gotten one yet. And usually every season we do get one.

The latest clip would’ve had an even greater impact if they

1. Hadn’t had Thierry slap Lola. Because yikes.

2. Had actually done more to show their relationship and have it be strained, but have him first not try, then actually start to, and see how it changes to Lola, because it’s a huge deal that he actually asked her. It should’ve been a big deal that she called him dad as well, but it’s ruined by the slap.
