Yesterday in Pictures. I had bought a new jacket, because yesterday was the premiere of "Tröstrapporter" at Dramaten's big stage. Here is just before admission, 20 minutes before the show was supposed to start.

Then Gustaf came on stage. And he who was so phenomenal during the last rope week - now he put a new gear, was better than I have ever seen him.

I was no longer the director, I was a spectator, it was nice.

Memorable moment.

Immensely proud of the brother who today had the premiere of Tröstrapporter at Dramaten with an awfully good Gustaf Skarsgård in this monologue. Crying, laughing and mute silence. This play must be seen and felt on the spot.

TRÖSTRAPPORTER A monolog with Gustaf Skarsgård written by Alex Schulman

World premiere September 16, 2022

An early, blue morning on the housing estate. A man appears on his tiny balcony and relives the fight that took place the evening before. He is worried he said things to his wife that can’t be unsaid. In the hour between night and dawn, he scrutinises himself, trying to trace the origins of his sorrow, and finally unearths a childhood event, a beautiful summer morning a lifetime ago, in the little house in the archipelago. The Baltic Sea is placid outside and the Shipping Forecast is on the radio.

He got the idea from an article in Dagens Nyheter about the Shipping Forecast on Swedish Radio, and how it no longer fulfilled a real purpose. If you’re at sea, you use your own apps and weather services. When the terrorist attacks in Paris took place, Swedish Radio station P1 decided to stop transmitting the shipping forecast. Distraught listeners immediately complained. They had never listened to the shipping forecast for the weather, but for security. In a turbulent world, people are comforted by hearing that the world goes on, that the islands stay where they are.

NEW PROJECT/monologue for Gustaf Skarsgård!  “TRÖSTRAPPORTER”

Premiere September 16 on Dramaten's big stage!

Tickets will be released on Thursday 12 May, at 10.00.

Alex Schulman's monologue Tröstrapporter was to premiere in the spring of 2020, but all sold-out performances had to be postponed due to the pandemic. Now it is clear that the play will be on the repertoire this autumn - with Gustaf Skarsgård in the role.

It's an early blue morning in the suburbs. A man goes out on his narrow balcony and falls straight through the quarrel that took place last night. He's afraid he said things to his wife that could not be repaired. In the hour between night and dawn, he makes up for himself, tries to lead his grief backwards and ends up in an event in childhood, a beautiful summer morning a lifetime ago, in the small house in the archipelago. The Baltic Sea is shiny outside and the Radio Report is on the radio.

Tickets will be released on Thursday 12 May, at 10.00.
