why are my ttte faves the ones who get underutilised and the writers were never bothered to include them again........ anyway here's more human Sonny, predictably

I enjoy thinking of the song Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl by Olivia Rodrigo as a Sonny song, so the lyrics are in there, as well as some silly doodles :D

To be honest I've been planning this drawing since I first conceptualised his human design, maybe it'd be fun to include those here under the cut for u to see how the art block had me in a chokehold.....

Thomas and Friends: Marvellous Machinery (A New Arrival + World of Tomorrow)

(I’m going to try a keep most of the nit-picking out of this, as I’m watching, I’m seeing a lot of small faults. Like Ruth being able to just chill against Thomas, or how fast Thomas can go)

First off, I really wish that they had made this special 20 minutes, and had made ‘The Royal Engine’ 40 minutes. (it deserved it! It would have let the show end on a good note, close to its roots). This special is full of nonsense, just like ‘Steam Team to the Rescue’. Especially during the chase scene. Yeah, it gives everyone a chance to save the day, but it’s absolute nonsense!

I like how they somehow made all this futurist tech have that 50s retro look to them. Fitting for the out of date look of Sodor.

Also, Sir Robert Norramby having a love for tech, both old and new. Something I’ve agreed with for years (hence the way I designed Stephen and will be designing Glynn and Hugo, in my Fantasy!AU)

Sonny’s Second Chance

For the home media release, they combined both the special and extra episodes into one-hour-long special.

Not going to lie, I completed for the newcomer’s name was after watching this special (it’s Sonny). I like the whole villain story going there tho. The amount of evil locos is very low in the whole TTTE universe, which is a real shame. I want more evil vehicles.

It’s an interesting choice that they paired Sonny up with Diesel for this story. It’s a nice change.

Kenji on the Rails Again

So, Hiro leaves Sodor for the final time! That’s the only really notable thing that happened in that episode to me.

getting tied up and left for dead in a runaway train is definitely going to traumatize a person, and i can’t exactly see him being eager to step foot in his engine’s cab again for a long time. on top of that, since he was presumably staying with baz and bernie and they’ve now been arrested, he kind of has to stay on sodor now with a bunch of people he barely knows until he can find a way to return home.

i don’t even think gordon and james would hold a grudge, at least not to the extent they did in canon. sonny’s in such an objectively awful situation that basic human decency would probably stop them from truly resenting him.

Even though I haven’t watched Marvelous Machinery (and I won’t until it get an official UK release), I had already decided that Sir Robert Norramby would have an interest in technology, both old and new, in my Fantasy!AU. I mean just look at Stephen, Glynn and Hugo, oh and Millie (or more likely her job at the castle).
