30th Anniversary "Yu Yu Hakusho 25th Anniversary Single Record Box" Encore Press [Color Record]
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the "Yu Yu Hakusho" anime series, the very popular and sold out limited edition of the "Yu Yu Hakusho 25th Anniversary Single Record Box", released in 2017, will be re-released in response to the fans requests.
The design remains the same, but the black vinyl from 2017 have been changed to colored vinyl. The box contains eight 7-inch colored singles with 16 songs in total, such as anime theme songs and character songs.
In addition, the duet tracks of Kurama and Hiei (WILD WIND), and Yusuke and Keiko (Omoide wo Tsubasa Shite), which you could only obtain by ordering the box set straight from the Pony Canyon website in 2017, are now included in Disc 8.

Oh while I’m here
Cowboy Bebop live action and Yu Yu Hakusho live action
I watched Bebop when it came out. I actually really loved most of it. I was very disappointed with Spike and Faye though, and I realized later it was probably because they never watched the original. I feel like there was nuance lost. If not the fault of “not doing your homework” then the directing should have at least tried to help. It felt like the ennui was completely lost on them. I get having your own approach and all and don’t want or think a 1:1 is necessary or possible but wow. They were sadly not good. Jet, however, I loved him, Mustafa did a great job and I liked his story the most, even and especially the additional backstory they gave him. I got very disappointed towards the end. I think maybe Julia and Vicious Could have worked if it wasn’t over the top soap opera.
The sets design, the staging, it was all so beautiful. You could tell the people involved with the set design LOVED the show. I just wish John Cho and Daniella Pineda were either directed better or bothered to watch the show prior. Could also have just been….. the script… idk why but the overarching episode plots felt good and Jet was phenomenal but everything else was….. not.
The Mad Pierrot episode I was nervous about it being too cheesy but they pulled it off genuinely well. It’s probably my favorite in both the anime and the live.
As for YYH I liked it. It felt interesting while still familiar. I do Not recommend it to anyone who has Not seen the anime. It felt very very reliant on the audience being a fan of the show. But they put a lot of good care into it. The character differences weren’t too bad, Yusuke is a little more aloof than his hot headed anime counterpart, but I got over it quickly in the second or third episode. Kuwabara’s actir was so fun, and the English dub of him did a good job without overtly copying Christopher Sabat.
I was a tiny bit disappointed in Kurama’s hair choice, I think all of the cast could have benefitted a little from taking hairstyle and makeup advice from Old School Visual Kei, but their outfits were nice. I actually really loved that Kurama’s uniform was a rose brocade. A beautiful detail that helped prevent it from being boring. The special effects were pretty good, a tiny bit cheesy but not off putting.
I LOVED the Toguro brothers though holy shit. And Karasu my BELOVED. I thought Sakyo’s actor was such a handsome choice. I usually picture Sakyo as more Pretty Boy / Clsssic Bishounen but Inagaki is a great actor and soooo handsome. And Gonzo. All the villains were actually so fucking good. But I LOVED the Toguro brothers especially older the most. Vile little shit head bastard. I love him.
Seeing. Koenma. As a real life adult human. With a pacifier. Really puts how silly his character design is to perspective. I loved it.
Honestly not bad. Cheesy, but fun.

For you vinyl lovers out there, a 7-inch 7 disc set containing all the opening and ending themes plus two image songs for Yusuke, Kuwabara, Hiei, and Kurama is up for order. There are two versions of this: regular edition and limited edition.
The Limited Edition will include an extra disc which contains duets from Hiei & Kurama (Wild Wind) and Yusuke & Keiko (Omoide wo Tsubasa ni Shite).
You can order it in various locations (amazon.jp, HMV) and it has a release date of February 21, 2018.

I don’t know how to explain my feelings about this JK Rowling situation... this is entirely wild considering my experience with Harry Potter:
Grandmother got me the third book when I was in Junior High. Thought it was a lot of fun, wound up reading 2 and 1 right before the 4th one came out.
I guess because I wound up obsessing over Sailor Moon and anime, EVERYONE expected me to become obsessed with Harry Potter. Next thing I knew, everyone was buying me merch. I got annoyed with it back then because I felt like everyone was trying to avoid buying me anime/manga (it wasn’t nearly as easy to find back then. If you were lucky, you might find a couple of series in the graphic novel section of a bookstore, and they didn’t always recognize the term “manga”. Otherwise, you had to go to geek stores that sold exclusively geeky things.) Now that I’m older, I realize it was mostly my dad trying to avoid asking for Inuyasha/Yu Yu Hakusho, because mr. NASCAR macho felt silly buying them and couldn’t pronounce them.
My church/ school/ cult HATED it. To the point where our youth pastor went around loaning everyone interested a book called “Harry Potter and the Bible”. It’s a short book that goes into detail about how the series is evil and goes into detail about how it was influenced by the occult to suck more kids into the occult.
This backfired on them, because apparently the Mirror of Erised having backwards writing was an occult thing. I didn’t realize the writing was backwards (give me a clue that a series has a mystery or hidden messages and I WILL geek out, though I’m not always the quickest to figure them out) so in my excitement I showed my mom what the book said and the mirror stuff. She STORMED into the youth pastor’s office and let him have it, shouting that I only saw Harry Potter as a fun fantasy book and would have never known about the occult stuff if THEY hadn’t given been so obsessed to point it out. And if I wound up actually getting into the occult, it was THEIR fault. (She’s not wrong. I may have been a loud kid who hated homework, but otherwise I followed most of their rules and read pretty chill stuff like Nancy Drew and random 90’s girl books (about like babysitters getting into 12 year old shenanigans and horse girl stuff- the usual. ) They just hated that I liked “evil” stuff... like Pokémon, Sailor Moon, music worth dancing to, etc.)
In the end, I had to have a lengthy discussion with my YP about the books and whether I’ll keep reading them. Basically the end result was yes, I will keep reading them, if they become so dark that I’m uncomfortable I will stop, and a fictional story will not affect my faith. They FINALLY backed off after that.
As far as the movies went, never watched after the third one. I don’t remember the details entirely- I believe they changed something about how Harry got his broom & I think the parents’ patronus mystery was changed? Either way, I REALLY didn’t care after that. I wasn’t a fan of the movies’ asthetic, anyway.
So now, nearly 20 years later, everyone around me is talking about the creator being all hateful and I am both laughing at the irony and super confused. Like, JK, dear, the Christian community hates you. I have a hard time believing they’re gonna accept your books. What are you doing? Let people be themselves and your books collect value cuz DAMN I would like to have some compensation as my life has not known peace since I opened The Prisoner of Azkaban as a tween and thought it was neat.

Top 10 Yu Yu Hakusho # 1- Favorite Songs
Here are my Top 10 Favorite Songs from Yu Yu Hakusho Soundtracks
10. Mienai Mirai E- This is the group song. it features the Main 4, Keiko, Botan, Yukina and Koenma singing. A slow song the characters sound so awesome in this.
9. Eien Ni Thank You (Thank You Forever!)- One of Kuwabara’s Image songs. The way he sings this is great. It makes me laugh as well. This is one of two songs from Kuwabara that I like on this list.
8. Wild Wind- A Kurama and Hiei song. It’s very good and Kurama and Hiei’s voice actor sound great in this up beat song
7. Koori no Naifu wo Daite (Embracing a Knife of Ice)- Kurama’s Image song from Eizou Hakusho. The song matches up perfectly with scenes with Kurama’s Eizou Hakusho Video and His Japanese Va’s sing so well. It had to be on the list.
6. Unbalanced Kiss- The Dark Tournament Ending Song. I love this ending song. It’s my second favorite Ending theme.
Honorable mentions
A. Homework Never Ends- The first ending song. It’s awesome but it’s my third favorite ending theme.
B. Tough- One of Yusuke’s Image song. The song fits him so well but I have different Yusuke Image song on my list.
C. Eye To Eye- Kuwabara, Kurama and Hiei’s song. It’s great song but I like another group song a little more.
5. Dachi- My favorite Kuwabara Image song. This is the one from Eizou Hakusho. This is song is so awesome. It fits Kuwabara so well. His song relates so much to what he goes through in the show. His Japanese Va done an excellent job on this song.
4. Dead or Alive- Toushin (Battle God)- Yusuke’s Image song from Eizou Hakusho. I love melody of the song and the images in Eizou Hakusho matches so well with the song. His Japanese va is awesome in this song.
3. Yasashisa wa Nemuranai- This is my favorite Team Urameshi song. It’s upbeat medium pace and Japanese Va’s voice make this song awesome.
2. Daydream Generation- The Last Ending song it’s so awesome. I love words to this song in Japanese and in English. It
My number 1 song is
Smile Bomb- The opening song. What can I say about this it’s my top favorite anime themes of all time.
