Yu Yu Hakusho 100% Maji Battle - END OF SERVICE

Sad news! Maji Battle announced they have decided to end the game on February 21, 2023. The game started on August 28, 2018, so after 4.5 years, it's goodbye. They shared new illustrations of the mafia version of Kuwabara and Hiei with Kurama and Yusuke. Hiei's pose is so cool. I hope there will be a new event with the four guys to close the game in style.

For those who are interested, Yusuke and Kurama disguised themselves once as members of the mafia, and worked together to solve the theft of a Spirit World treasure. I translated PART 1 and PART 2 of this Maji Battle side story.

The other two Yu Yu Hakusho games for mobile, "Genkai Battle Spirit" and the chinese "BANG! Spirit Gun", also terminated this year on December 20 and November 16, 2022, respectively.

What is happening, why all the YYH games are shutting down?🥺

I like Maji Battle so much! The art, background music, original stories, are so cool. I will miss it. I've been translating the side stories on this Tumblr, and I'll do my best to continue translating the remaining ones.

For you vinyl lovers out there, a 7-inch 7 disc set containing all the opening and ending themes plus two image songs for Yusuke, Kuwabara, Hiei, and Kurama is up for order. There are two versions of this: regular edition and limited edition.

The Limited Edition will include an extra disc which contains duets from Hiei & Kurama (Wild Wind) and Yusuke & Keiko (Omoide wo Tsubasa ni Shite).

You can order it in various locations (amazon.jp, HMV) and it has a release date of February 21, 2018. 

Pre-orders on the official Pony Canyon website end, however on January 4th, 2018.

"Yu Yu Hakusho" (written by Yoshihiro Togashi) has been serialized in Shueisha's "Weekly Shounen Jump" since 1990 and continues to have an overwhelming popularity. The comic books have had a tremendous circulation, and the TV animation, which aired on nationwide Fuji Television network, has recorded an astonishingly high viewer rating, an event that is said to occur once in decades.

The amount of characters' goods sold is enormous, and they continue to be eagerly desired by the fans.

The "Yu Yu Hakusho Symphonic Collection" is a selection of profoundly memorable theme songs from the big hit and masterpiece anime "Yu Yu Hakusho". Conducted by Bob Sakuma with great performance of the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, we will present you with a profound and magnificence orchestration.

Bob Sakuma (ボブ佐久間)

Profile:

Composer, arranger, and conductor. At the age of 4, he started playing violin and piano, and at the age of 22, he made his debut as a composer.

Unsatisfied with the smooth sailing of the work as a writer, at the age of 27, he suddenly decided to emigrate to the United States, in order to know more about his own abilities on a global level. He lived in Hollywood, California, for 8 years, where he worked with many famous artists, especially in commercials and live performances.

In October 1985, he returned to Japan and settled there again. He has worked on numerous stages, TV shows, doramas, movies, musicals, etc., and his extensive composition (of music) activities have gained overwhelming support across genres such as pop, rock, jazz, and classical music.

Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra (名古屋フィルハーモニー交響楽団)

Profile

Formed in 1966 by volunteer musicians of Nagoya City and surrounding areas, they gave their first subscription concert in October 1967.

Thereafter, they have steadily enhanced their skills while adjusting their structure as an orchestra. In 1988, they performed for the first time overseas, receiving great acclaim in various cities in Europe such as Paris and Geneva, and performing a great task as a cultural envoy.

T/N: Cultural envoy - figures and artists are sent overseas to engage in activities that will promote Japanese culture and create and reinforce cultural networks.

In recent years, symphonic pop concerts by symphony orchestras have become very popular, so they also have been very active in this area. In 1994, they have attracted attention from various circles with the "Symphonic Suite: The Silent Service," conducted by Bob Sakuma.

T/N: The Silent Service (沈黙の艦隊, Chinmoku no Kantai) is a manga series written and illustrated by Kaiji Kawaguchi.

30th Anniversary "Yu Yu Hakusho 25th Anniversary Single Record Box" Encore Press [Color Record]

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the "Yu Yu Hakusho" anime series, the very popular and sold out limited edition of the "Yu Yu Hakusho 25th Anniversary Single Record Box", released in 2017, will be re-released in response to the fans requests.

The design remains the same, but the black vinyl from 2017 have been changed to colored vinyl. The box contains eight 7-inch colored singles with 16 songs in total, such as anime theme songs and character songs.

In addition, the duet tracks of Kurama and Hiei (WILD WIND), and Yusuke and Keiko (Omoide wo Tsubasa Shite), which you could only obtain by ordering the box set straight from the Pony Canyon website in 2017, are now included in Disc 8.

Price: ¥13,200 (tax included)

Before we go to finals, I'm going to have two intermission matches: Match 63 will be between the semifinals losers who will be fighting for 3rd place, and match 64 will be between the quarterfinal losers for 5th through 8th place. Due to the nature of bracket tournaments I know this may not be the most accurate rankings of faves, because many heavy hitters were lost to the war in previous battles u_u (doing a round robin of 64 contestants would be like 2000+ matches)... BUT i love ranking things so just for fun im gonna rank them anyway <3 .
