All there was in this place was a burner phone. Harvey didn't know where his went but it wasn't in his pocket anymore. Either it was taken or he dropped it somewhere during his trip. Not typical Harvey Specter behaviour, but he had no idea what was going on.
He tried sending the text five times and every time, it failed, so Harvey moved all over the place until there seemed to be a tiny bit of a signal.
[Text: Scott Lang] I'm scared, I'm scared, I'm scared- Harvey Specter
Harvey wasn't really scared but he figured the more urgent it sounded, the more likely he was to get a response. He doubted explaining his situation, his situation he didn't even know was real, would get anywhere.
After Harvey sent it, he started pacing in his spot and hoped Scott wouldn't think this was a prank someone was playing on him.

October 16: 1x19 Tomorrow Is Yesterday
Today, one of the best, most entertaining, and most fun TOS episodes.
This intro is so strange lol. If I were watching this in 1967, I’d be like “Has Star Trek been preempted by something dumb?” It’s also very short.
That is in fact the definition of a UFO--what’s less identified than the Enterprise?
I can’t wait until a space ship of people from the future shows up. It’s 2020 so anything could happen.
Captain’s Log: This is weird!
I love all the shots of the Enterprise through this ep. How clearly it’s cut and pasted against the sky, the weird and jerky way it moves.
So I was confused by the use of the term “black star”--it is in fact a black hole (Spock’s eternal nemesis lol); that term just wasn’t well known or settled on to describe that particular phenomenon in 1967.
The method of time travel reminds me of The Naked Time (wasn’t that also like snapping a rubber band?) and according to the amazon trivia, this was supposed to be The Naked Time part two--which actually would have been pretty cool.
“If Scotty’s not dead” lol. How dark.
Amazed by how efficient this ship is--they get those reports back to Spock really damn fast.
I love how Kirk is so smart and good at history that he can immediately date when they are based on the news about a moon landing. (Although actually this episode pre-dates the actual moon landing so that was just a guess as to when it would happen, which I find AMAZING tbh.)
The drama of the time travel reveal! Close up on Kirk’s face: WHAT??
Sulu’s eye makeup is great. Bones’s is too, later.
“The craft might have nuclear warheads, which would be rather inconvenient for us.”
Kirk doesn’t know his own lady’s strength. Whoops, we accidentally destroyed your ship.
Why does Christopher beam up standing? Because it would be too funny if he beamed up sitting and then immediately fell on his ass?
Kirk immediately checks him out, and then starts flirting. He is so shameless.
“I’m a Captain too! I’m from Iowa!”
“Woman?” / “Crewman” feminist exchange paired with that horn music that usually accompanies Jessica Rabbit. Well A for effort boys.
The Enterprise is one of only 12 in the fleet. Not that that’s really trustworthy since everything in S1 of TOS is seat of the pants random facts and numbers lol. This episode refers to BOTH Starfleet and UESPA--and possibly the Federation? Already can’t remember. I don’t understand any more than Captain Christopher does.
“We’re a combined service.” Combined from what?
Captain Christopher was one of the best guest characters. Love how he’s on this amazing futuristic ship and the only thing he can say about it is “you guys sure fuck up a lot.”
Spock is having tons of fun with the new Earthman like IMMEDIATELY. “I also don’t believe in little green men--by which I mean don’t call me little.”
Another ep in which Spock is referred to as a Lt. Cmdr. while pretty clearly wearing a Commander’s uniform.
“Don’t touch anything.”
“Anything else on your mind, Mr. Spock? A threesome perhaps?”
“Jim, we cannot not exist.”
“That flight suit must be uncomfortable”--so unsubtle in wanting to get him undressed. “Why don’t you slip into something a little more comfortable, Captain?”
“Signet 14 is a planet dominated by women...with a sense of humor.”
“You can’t go home now that you know what the future looks like--damn fine, I mean take a look at us.”
“We’ve no place to go!” Oh Scotty, always coming in to burst some bubbles. They should have just gone on tours everyone’s home towns for fun.
And now Captain Christopher tries to escape. Exactly what Kirk would do in his situation. And yet Kirk is perplexed: “I sent him to his room--and he’s not in his room!”
Bones is so convinced that they have to leave and get back to their own time because they can’t have 435 people just wandering around 20th century Earth changing the timelines and that’s legit--but I think they could have stuck him in 1960s Georgia and he’d do fine. Except for the racism.
“Now you’re sounding like Spock.” Jim! How dare!!
“Could he be reeducated to forget his family” sounds VERY suspicious out of context. Or, really, in context.
Bones identifying that Spock is joking is hilarious and sweet. He pretends he doesn’t know him, but he does.
Kirk’s face when Spock is talking about Christopher Jr. is so MUCH--he looks like he could try.
I love the colors of this episode. I would buy a color tv for this for sure.
“Our tractor beam caught and crushed an Air Force plane.” Well that’s not good. Hard to explain that one.
Sulu gets to go on a one-on-one away mission with the Captain! And he’s obviously having a grand time.
“Look at this cool bulletin board!”
“Look at this primitive computer!” Which Kirk can identify because he likes going to museums because he’s a NERD I rest my case.
I feel like Spock is super alien today. Just giving off a lot of alien vibes. “I am working on my calculations.”
This episode is so hilarious; I love it. This guy’s reactions to Kirk and Sulu and their communicator, and their reactions to him and the whole situation. It’s really pretty cure comedy without much bearing on the plot--just for fun.
“I don’t hear anything.” I mean--you’re officers?? That’s the best you can do?
“Hmmm, you’re not Jim.” “We seem to have another problem.” “An unfortunate accident.” Bones taking the gun and probably keeping it. The absolutely on point score. “Our guest seems quite satisfied to remain where he is.”
Also “A subplot of this episode is that Kirk and Sulu steal government documents from an Air Force base” sounds very fake, but it’s completely true and accurate.
Kirk just straight up LAUNCHING himself at those guys. The ONLY valid fight scenes are in Star Trek TOS and it’s all because of Kirk and his highly choreographed fight moves.
“Three against one? Why don’t you get two more guys and make it a fair fight.”
But then as soon as he’s caught he turns on the charm.
Spock: “Poor photography.” He never knows the right thing to say, does he?
And now the obligatory moment when Bones accuses Spock of not caring about Jim even though he of all people should know better.
This interrogation scene is also hilarious and one of my favorites. How he doesn’t say his middle name is Tiberius. Wincing when they throw the weapon around. “I’m a little green man from Alpha Centuri.” “This little thing? Just something I slipped on.” “Two hundred years? That oughtta be just about right.”
Tbh sometimes I do feel better about the AOS!Kirk characterization because of scenes like this. Like, you could see that mid-20s Kirk turning into this mid-30s Kirk; the sense of humor is similar.
This man in the beret is having a fun time. I think he’d like to stay here. Also, I find the food replicators in the transporter room really random but I guess that was a budget issue.
This is such a good-natured episode. Everyone’s so friendly, so forgiving of light moments of back-stabbery, so generally good-hearted.
You’ve seen the Vulcan nerve pinch, now get ready for the Sulu shoulder chop! And then the Vulcan nerve pinch! And then the  Kirk very-fake-looking punch in the face!
Spock so obviously wants to kiss it better. The camera is away from them for so long, it’s possible there was a lot of hand fondling going on.
And then everything about the rest of the scene--how Spock somehow leaves by one door and comes in by another to get behind Christopher; how he lurks out of focus in the background; the random shots of Sulu’s face; all the opportunities for Kirk to look Fond.
Aw, poor Christopher. Didn’t get into NASA but he still gets to go to space. I wonder if a part of him did remember all this and that’s how he inspired his son to work on the Saturn probe.
Also there is no way for DC Fontana or anyone else to know this but there was a Saturn probe launched in 2004, which is approximately the right timeline to match this ep--if Christopher’s son was born in 1970, he would have been in his mid-30s in 2004.
“You only have 15 years, so you better hurry”--Kirk, hurrying to get his last flirty comment in.
More shaky ship and more people throwing themselves around the set. Never gets old.
Christopher sure learned the ship fast. He’s already pushing buttons to talk to the bridge. Maybe NASA made a mistake.
Scotty is a genius lol--they were SUPER precise in getting both of those guys back to the exact right moment in time.
“Mr. Scott is still with us”--again!
Uhura really likes the lady computer voice.
“The Enterprise is home!”
Amazing ep, as expected. I don’t have deep commentary on it because it wasn’t a deep episode, but it was a rollicking fun time. Next up is Court Martial, primarily memorable for the introduction of Kirk’s ex-girlfriend, The Lawyer.

BABY, I WILL BE YOUR EVERYTHING ➝ GRANBIN.
TAGGING ➝ Grant McCarthy, Robin St. James.
LOCATION ➝ Hospital, car, Grant & Robin’s house.
TIME FRAME ➝ 3/18, afternoon.
WARNINGS ➝ I guess a little bit of violence?? Nothing too graphic.
NOTES ➝ Baby confirmation, ex husband drama... Tbh we’re just heart-eyeing over them idek.
ROBIN ST. JAMES
Robin had, surprisingly quickly, come to terms with the fact that this was happening, that she was carrying she and Grant’s baby. She knew it with almost one hundred percent certainty; she knew her body, she knew it wasn’t normal right now. She wanted to clear any possibility that they were wrong, though, so she’d scheduled a doctor’s appointment for their return back to Chicago. She’d done her research, she knew they would do a more thorough test and confirm things to them for sure. She’d also found out that because of her health issues, they would have to monitor things from earlier on than many pregnancies, too. Despite considering herself completely capable of doing things on her own, there was no way she was going to do any of this without Grant, so she’d been happy that he’d wanted to come with her. Truth be told, Robin hated any kind of medical setting, probably because she associated them with sedation and psych wards, so she had her own additional reasons for feeling nervous as she sat in the waiting room with her hand in her boyfriend’s. She was fidgeting, foot tapping anxiously against the ground, fingers lacing and unlacing repeatedly with Grant’s. “I really hate these places,” she mumbled, resting her forehead against Grant’s shoulder, letting out a shaky breath as she closed her eyes. She needed a distraction. “How do you feel? How will you feel if the tests were wrong and we’re not pregnant?” She glanced up at her boyfriend, knowing they definitely were not wrong, but she needed the distraction.
GRANT MCCARTHY
The last twenty-four hours had been a whirlwind. Grant had gone from being completely oblivious to his girlfriend’s obvious pregnancy to being incredibly worried about the whole thing to being actually excited. Using the hand that wasn’t currently being held by Robin, he pulled his cap further down on his head as he stared around the waiting room. He was worried someone would recognize him. That was the last thing he wanted. Usually he didn’t mind when people came up to him to talk about basketball, but this was different. He didn’t want it out there in the world that Robin was pregnant, especially since it was still so early on. So, he was slightly disguised. Not a great disguise, but still, he hoped he just looked like some boring dad, which is what Caroline usually called his style choices anyway. He sent her a small sympathetic look and brought her hand up to his mouth, placing a small kiss against it. “I’m right here with you,” he mumbled out, shooting her a small wink. Hospital’s weren’t exactly his favorite thing either. He tried to avoid them at all costs. “I think I’d feel kind of disappointed,” he replied with a small shrug. He let out a deep breath as he watched another woman get called back to the back, immediately jealous that she was out of the waiting room. “I’ve warmed up to the idea. I’m excited to see how blue this kid’s eyes are gonna be,” he said with a small smirk. The idea that this couldn’t be happened seemed like an impossibility. He had already come to terms with it and it seemed like Robin had too. “I’m very excited though. I didn’t get to do all of this stuff with Jessica. I was too busy with basketball.”
ROBIN ST. JAMES
More so than ever before lately, Robin had been experiencing these episodes of panic. Not exactly panic attacks, but she found she’d been on the verge of them. It perhaps had something to do with the fact that she couldn’t keep her medication down, something she knew she was going to have to discuss with the doctor. Fortunately, Grant was kind of like his own version of a pill for her, and the soft kiss he pressed to her hand instantly helped her to relax some, with Robin letting out a long breath through her nose. “I know,” she said softly, tipping her head forward to press a soft kiss to his arm, “Thank you.” Considering they hadn’t even known there was a baby until a day ago, and that their initial reactions hadn’t exactly been positive ones, it was kind of crazy to think that they were both in agreement now that it’d be disappointing if this turned out to be wrong. Robin still had her reservations as far as passing on her health issues, but the idea of a baby, especially with someone she loved the way she loved Grant, was becoming exciting to her. “Me too,” she agreed, laughing a little as he continued. “I think they’ll be really blue. Your eyes are my favorites.” She paused to lean up and press her lips delicately to his in a brief peck. “You’re my favorite.” PDA had never been an issue for Robin — no surprise. She was about to tell him how this time would be different, and that he’d get to be there for it all, but the sound of her own name being called caught her off guard. She really needed to update her details; hearing her husband’s last name as she sat beside her boyfriend wasn’t exactly ideal. Automatically, she squeezed onto Grant’s hand, standing up and pulling him with her. She was nervous, she figured the way she held so tightly onto his hand as she walked into the room with him probably told him so. And the way she refused to let go, too.
GRANT MCCARTHY
Grant was definitely worried about Robin. She was so certain before that biological children were not in the cards for her. She seemed on board now, but that didn’t stop him from scanning her face every few minutes to try to gauge a different reaction from her. But her face didn’t look any different from his. There was a slight look of apprehension and worry, but it was mostly joy. He smirked down at her, the image of their blue-eyed baby couldn’t do anything but make him smile. They were a long ways away from actually having a baby, but it was still something to think about. He couldn’t wait to see how much this kid was going to look like her. He figured the baby wouldn’t look much like him if they were anything like Caroline. She was the spitting image of Jessica. A bigger grin spread across his face as she leaned up to kiss him. He was never one for PDA before he got together with Robin, but like a lot of things he had never been so gung ho about, he really didn’t mind them anymore. Kissing in public wasn’t so bad when he got to kiss her. He didn’t even frown when he heard her name, still attached to her husband’s last name, get called. He knew it didn’t matter. This baby was going to be a McCarthy and one day soon Robin would be too. He held on tightly to her hand as they made their way to the room, taking a seat in the chair next to the bed where she could sit. He never let go of her hand. “Why do you think you're pregnant? What symptoms have you been experiencing, Mrs. Taylor?” He heard the nurse ask as he leaned back in his seat. He looked up as she pulled up a tray with a needle on it next to Robin, evidently preparing to take her blood. He swallowed hard and squeezed her hand, letting her know she could hold on as tight as she wanted to. “We’re going to take a blood sample. And then the doctor will return with your results.”
ROBIN ST. JAMES
Robin had to keep mentally reminding herself that they were here for a good thing, and she wasn’t about to find herself strapped to a bed as per her usual hospital visits. Outside of particularly intense schizophrenic episodes, she tended to avoid medical establishments. As the nurse motioned her to take a seat on the bed, Robin did just that, her hand still securely holding onto her boyfriend’s. The first question helped her to relax, it was like a reminder that no one was tricking her into reentering a facility, they really were here to learn about their baby. “Oh, um, can you call me Robin?” She requested, really not wanting Scott to be attached to any part of this. This was she and Grant’s baby, this was their new beginning. “A lot of them,” she looked at Grant as she began to list off her symptoms, silently urging him to jump in if there was anything she’d forgotten. She seemed to cover everything, though. Needles really didn’t bother her, so she simply nodded when the nurse explained, though she focused on Grant again rather than on the needle sinking into her arm, offering him a weak smile. The nurse explained that they’d have to take a sample to do the same kind of test as the home tests she’d already taken, so she reluctantly let go of Grant’s hand, disappearing into the bathroom and returning quickly. She really didn’t want to be away from him — when did she ever? — so as soon as she’d handed the sample bottle over to the nurse, who left them alone for a moment to presumably go run the tests, Robin sat down in Grant’s lap rather than on the bed. “I don’t like Mrs. Taylor,” she frowned, wrapping an arm around her boyfriend’s neck. “I should really fix that. I’m sorry.”
GRANT MCCARTHY
It was becoming more obvious to Grant why he never went to any of these appointments with Jessica. He had been busy with basketball, but his relationship with Jessica really wasn’t all that great. She didn’t need his support. And Robin did. Robin actually liked having him around and judging by the tight hold she had on his hand, she really didn’t want him to go anywhere anytime soon. He liked being her support. It was evident that she hadn’t gotten a lot of support in her last relationship and he was steadfast in showing how much better this relationship was going to be for her than her last one. Grant nodded his head as she listed off her symptoms, it all sounded right to him. She knew her body a lot better than he did, although, he had gotten to know it pretty well. He smiled back at her as the nurse took her blood, hoping that she was focused on him and not the needle. He wasn’t really a fan of needles, but he also wasn’t really a fan of anything. He frowned when she had to pull away from him and go into the bathroom, already missing the contact of their hands being attached to one another. Maybe he liked the support he was getting from her just as much as he liked giving it to her. A smile spread across his face when she returned, and he immediately wrapped his arms around her as she plopped down on his lap. “Don’t worry about it too much,” he replied with a small shrug. “We’ll take care of it, okay? You’ll have the name you’re supposed to have soon.” He leaned forward and pressed a small kiss against her lips, hoping that she really didn’t worry about the Scott aspect all that much. He surely wasn’t. He moved one of his hands and rested it on her belly. Sure, they hadn’t gotten confirmation yet, but he was sure of the baby growing inside of there. “I hope this McCarthy likes basketball,” he joked, gently patting his hand against her stomach.
ROBIN ST. JAMES
Maybe this showed some kind of progress, the fact that Grant wasn’t freaking out about the use of her husband’s name. She remembered playing twenty questions with him in his kitchen, before she’d officially broken things off with Scott, and Grant had called her Robin Alexandra Taylor, the last part practically through gritted teeth. Hopefully now he knew that she was serious about him, that this wasn’t just some casual fling. They were in love, they were having a baby together, and Robin liked the idea that Grant felt more reassured. “Okay, you’re right,” she nodded, voice muffled a little against his lips. She pulled back to look at him as he spoke, her free hand instinctively settling on top of his as it rested on her stomach. “You’re cute,” she laughed softly, pressing her lips delicately to his forehead. “You know I love you, right?” She placed another small kiss to the same spot, pulling back to look at his face, just to really take him in. Robin really couldn’t remember ever feeling this happy before, so it was a big contrast when the door opened and her heart jumped into her throat, with her suddenly filled with nerves all over again. The doctor was looking over her notes, where the nurse had apparently written down her name preference, because the doctor greeted her by her first name. “Hi, it’s Robin, right? I’m Dr. Yates.” She shook her hand, and Robin already felt pretty calmed by her presence. “Right. This is my boyfriend, Grant.” She had made it clear already that she wanted him in the room with her at all times, so she wanted the doctor to make this about both of them, not just her. Dr. Yates shook Grant’s hand, then took a seat, with Robin standing from his lap and sitting on the bed again, though she instantly took Grant’s hand in her own. It didn’t come as a surprise when the doctor went on to confirm that they were in fact pregnant, and Robin bit down onto her lower lip as she looked down at her boyfriend, the corners of her mouth curving into a small smile.
GRANT MCCARTHY
TIME JUMP.
After the doctor confirmed the pregnancy, everything that happened after that was sort of a blur for Grant. He smiled widely and silently cheered that they had been right and then he just nodded his head throughout the rest of it, making sure to keep his hold on Robin’s hand. It was amazing. They were officially a family. Not that the baby had to solidify it or something, but it was a pretty amazing addition. The smile that was plastered on his face would probably stay there for hours as he thought about how happy he was that this was happening. He was kind of upset that he couldn’t tell more people. He wanted to tell everyone. But it was still too early and he knew that. He held on tightly to her hand as they made their way outside of the hospital, next appointment already scheduled. He had already added it to his personal calendar. Not that he really gave a shit about his personal calendar before any of this, but he was going to enjoy getting the calendar alert on his phone the day of her appointment. And he was going to be there. He was going to be there for every single appointment. “Do you want to grab something to eat to celebrate?” He asked, still not able to wipe that grin off his face. “Or if you’re tired, we could head home and I could give you a little massage?” He offered with a small wink. He used his free hand to dig out his keys from his pocket as he scanned the area for where he’d parked the car. “If it wasn’t clear that I’m ridiculously in love with you before. It’s only going to get worse now.”
ROBIN ST. JAMES
It was a long appointment, maybe more so than a regular one because Robin had to go over all of her mental health and figure out her medication and the best solution with the doctor, but she actually felt a little better about it all by the time they were done. Because of her health, she would have to have regular checkups, but that didn’t concern her, and her previous reaction to the news, where she’d been in denial and hadn’t wanted it to be true, was suddenly a very distant memory. She felt genuinely happy as they exited the building in search of the car. “I do,” she nodded her head enthusiastically, turning to look at Grant. “I want food and I want a massage. But let’s do food first. I want Five Guys. And I’ll even eat the fries this time.” She teased, eyes glistening with genuine excitement. For the last five years now, Robin had not had a very good relationship with food, it was nice that she actually wanted it right now. It definitely was clear already, but she always loved hearing Grant tell her how he felt, and responded with a bright smile, tugging him closer to her as they reached the car. “I think I’m okay with that,” she shrugged, moving his hand to her stomach. She held it there comfortably, her free hand coming up to take his chin gently between her thumb and pointer. “Are you happy?” She asked, gently guiding his face down to meet his lips with her own. She really didn’t care that there were a couple random people around, they didn’t seem to be focusing on them. Though her eyes had closed as she’d kissed him, she could see the flash of a camera through her lids, and quickly opened her eyes to glance over in its direction.
GRANT MCCARTHY
Grant could so vividly remember all of his firsts with Caroline. The first time he’d held her, the first time she’d called him Dad. He loved reliving those memories in his mind and it definitely made him happy that he was going to experience a lot of those firsts again with their baby. And he wasn’t going to miss any time with this kid like he had with Caroline. That was still one of his biggest regrets. That he was so busy with his career that he was constantly on the road, so he missed a lot of Caroline’s actual firsts. Her first steps, the first time she lost a tooth. Little things. He was going to be there for all of that this time. “Five Guys it is,” he said with a nod of his head. What his baby wanted, she was going to get. Well, his baby meaning Robin, and the baby growing inside of her. He grinned as she pulled him closer to her, nodding his head at her question. “I’m ecstatic, Robin,” he smiled, wrapping his arms around her. Honestly, he could not remember the last time he had smiled this much. He closed his eyes and lifted her up off the ground as their lips met, the smirk on his face disappearing as he felt a camera going off in the distance. His eyes immediately found the source of it and he groaned before turning back to Robin. “Baby, get in the car,” he mumbled out with a sigh. He turned his attention back to the man with the camera and rolled his eyes. “You should be ashamed of yourself! You’re interrupting a private moment. You’re lucky I don’t break your fucking camera,” he scoffed, opening up his car door and climbing in before pulling off, buckling up once he was further away from the scene. “I’m sorry about that. I shouldn’t have gotten so mad, but he just took that picture to sell it to someone. It’s fucked up. Now I’m going to end up on TMZ looking like an asshole because I don’t want pictures of my pregnant girlfriend all over the place.”
ROBIN ST. JAMES
So far, Robin couldn’t recall one time where Grant had refused her anything, so it wasn’t like it was surprising that he’d agreed to where she wanted to go to eat, but it still pulled a bright, grateful smile from her in response. Grant lifting her off the ground was unexpected, but not unwelcome, and Robin wrapped her arms around his neck in the process, laughing softly against his lips. Who knew a moment could be ruined so quickly by some random guy with a camera? Until now, Robin hadn’t dealt with that. She’d dealt with fans of Grant commenting on her Instagram posts, but she hadn’t dealt with anyone taking their picture yet. She wasn’t entirely sure how to handle it, it caught her off guard. Despite his instruction, Robin stayed firmly put, wanting to make sure Grant was okay, and settled her hands on his arm once he’d begun to yell. “Babe, come on,” she urged, offering him a sympathetic smile as she let go and climbed into the passenger seat, then buckled up as she waited for Grant to join her. “No,” she shook her head, voice soft, “You don’t have to apologize. That was super annoying.” Robin was happy about their baby, but she definitely wasn’t ready to have the world know just yet, so she understood his frustration. Reaching out to settle her hand on his thigh, she gently rubbed it with her fingertips, trying to reassure him. “It’s fine, let’s just go home, okay? We can get something to eat there. I think you might need me to give you a massage now too.” She leaned over to press her lips softly to his cheek. “Your babies feel very protected.”
GRANT MCCARTHY
It was weird how quickly things could change. One minute he was so happier that his cheeks were hurting from smiling so much, an affliction that he’d never felt before, and the next minute he was jumping down the throat of some guy with a camera. Grant was thankful to have Robin right there with him. He resented the fact that she had to deal with this. It wasn’t necessary. And it wasn’t what she signed up for when she agreed to be with him. It was too much and if it wasn’t for her, and her hatred of violence, he probably would have decked the guy. But he wasn’t going to ruin their afternoon by hitting some stranger with a camera. It wasn’t worth it. It felt nice to hear that he didn’t have to apologize, but he still felt like he should have. “You didn’t sign up for all of that,” he muttered, shaking his head. He felt bad. He lowered one of his hands from the steering wheel and placed it on top of hers, sending a weak smile before putting his eyes back on the road. He nodded his head at her request. Heading home seemed like the best idea for a lot of reasons. “I will cook you two something,” he breathed out, finally calming down after his altercation. She had a way of grounding him in a way that no one else could. She always knew what to say to him. And telling him that she and their baby felt protected was exactly what he needed to hear. He let out a soft hum as he kept his eyes on the road, knowing they weren’t far from home. It didn’t take long before he found himself pulling into the driveway, scrunching his face up at the unfamiliar car parked there. “Do you recognize that car?” He asked, reaching over to unbuckle his seatbelt.
ROBIN ST. JAMES
“I signed up for you,” Robin pointed out, gently shrugging a shoulder. While he was right, and she really hadn’t signed up for people flashing a camera in their faces, she’d also been aware of Grant’s status when she’d agreed to be with him, and it wasn’t going to stop her. Her fingers laced with his briefly as his hand settled on top of her own, but she let go to let him drive. “How about we cook together? I might even let you in on my secret bolognese recipe,” she winked, trying to settle his mood. Robin had been surprised by the camera, but she wasn’t hurt or anything, she didn’t want Grant to have to continue to worry. Though she knew that he would anyway; he seemed to always be worrying about her. She felt bad, but she also appreciated it, she appreciated how much her boyfriend genuinely cared about her. It had been kind of an exhausting weekend, so despite how short a drive it was to their home, Robin found herself laying back into the seat and closing her eyes until she felt the car coming to a stop, relaxed once she opened her eyes to look over at her boyfriend. Until she heard his question, and Robin’s brow furrowed as she glanced out the window, expression falling. “That’s Charlie’s car,” she explained, confusion on her face as she sat up in her seat. “What’s Charlie doing here?” The question was mostly just her thinking aloud, and Robin wasted no time in unbuckling her seatbelt and climbing out of the car. Her husband climbed out of the passenger seat, a large envelope in his hand. “This has gone on long enough now, Robin. You know I’m not going to sign these, right?” Her gaze drifted to the envelope, and it occurred to her that they were their divorce papers. “What? No, you have to. You can’t just refuse to divorce me, that’s not how it works.”
GRANT MCCARTHY
Hearing Robin’s words had actually helped him calm down a lot. He could feel his heartrate slowing down on the ride home as he glanced over at her a few times while trying to keep his eyes on the road. “I get your Bolognese recipe? You must really love me,” he teased, letting out a light chuckle. As much as talking to Robin in the car had calmed him down, today really wasn’t the day to mess with him. All he truly wanted to do was just go home, make some dinner with his girlfriend, and celebrate the fact that they were starting a family together. So, when the pulled up and she told him that the random car in their driveway belonged to her ex-husband’s boyfriend, all he could do was groan. Grant pulled himself out of their car, slamming the door shut behind him as he noticed Scott approaching the two of them. He clenched his jaw as the other man spoke, immediately rolling his eyes at the words coming out of his mouth. He unzipped his coat and threw it off, tossing onto the hood of his car. “Get the hell off of my property or I will have you removed,” he snapped. Scott refused and Grant had really had enough of this shit. If it wasn’t some random asshole taking a picture of the two of them, it was this asshole showing up at his house to bully Robin. Into what? He didn’t know. The idea of her going back to him was laughable. “I’m really sorry. I love you, but I’m sorry,” he apologized to his girlfriend. He took a step toward Scott with a clenched fist and swung it at his face, making sure the hard punch landed against his jaw, knocking him down. He shook his fist as he felt the hands of the younger gentleman, who had apparently gotten out of the driver’s seat, pushing him back. “Get the hell of me,” he scoffed, shaking the guy off. His eyes fell to the envelope of divorce papers on the ground and he shook his head, watching Scott as he started to stand back up. “I can get you a pen.”
ROBIN ST. JAMES
“I do really love you,” she agreed, nodding her head. It maybe should’ve been scary, just how strong her feelings for her boyfriend already were, but it wasn’t. It was the most natural thing. Everything with Grant was, in fact. It made it easy to forget the time she’d wasted before him, though apparently the universe had other ideas for her. She rarely thought about Scott, but not only had she been referred to as Mrs. Taylor today, but he was also now right here, standing in front of she and Grant’s home. She hadn’t considered the idea of him acting like this, of refusing to end their marriage, so Robin was admittedly pretty panicked now. She didn’t know what to say, and looked at her boyfriend with wide, confused eyes when he apologized to her, realizing quickly why. To be honest, it didn’t even surprise her; she knew Grant was riled up because of the photograph already. She just wanted to make sure he was okay, and quickly stepped toward him, reaching out to pull Charlie away. Whether it was accidental or not, Robin took an elbow from the younger man right to her cheek, hard enough that it knocked her back. “Robin. Sweetie, are you okay?” She heard Scott’s voice, his hands settling protectively on her arms. She looked up at her boyfriend, eyes glazing over with tears. This was a mess, one in which her ex husband was trying to be her hero, and her boyfriend was probably about to murder someone. Robin shrugged herself away from Scott. “He told you he loved you, but you know that he’s lying. You know no one can love you like I do,” Scott said, looking right at her with an expression of sincerity; entirely manipulative, of course. No voice in her head was ever as unwelcome as Scott’s. “I’m your husband, you’re my wife.”
GRANT MCCARTHY
Grant hated Scott. It had started even before he and Robin were anything special. Although, he could probably argue that the two of them had been something special from the get go. He could remember talking to her about her husband and getting pretty annoyed by every story she told him. The guy didn’t even buy her a rose for Valentine’s Day. And Grant had volunteered to. Even then, it was obvious that he cared more about Robin’s happiness than her husband did and he was just a random guy she met on the internet and had mutual friends with. They barely knew each other. His hatred of Scott had finally boiled over and getting to punch him in the face was the sweet release he had been waiting for during the last few months. He could feel himself boil up with more rage as Charlie knocked Robin back, immediately grabbing him and shoving him against his car. “Don’t touch her like that! She’s...” He stopped himself. He didn’t even feel comfortable telling his parents about Robin’s pregnancy yet, he definitely wasn’t going to tell these two assholes. Letting go of Charlie, his eyes followed Scott’s voice, clenching his jaw as he listened to him address Robin. He let out a breath, taking a step away from Charlie and shaking his head. He wasn’t going to let Scott’s words get to him even more than they already were. “Hey. Look at me,” he mumbled out, connecting his gaze with hers. “He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I’m not going to speak for you. But I think I have a pretty good understanding of how you feel about me. You’re not my wife yet and I’m not your husband, but I’m Grant and you’re Robin, and I think that speaks for itself.” He exhaled sharply as he ran his hand over his beard in frustration. “She doesn’t have a home with you anymore. This is her house. I make love to her every night in our bed, and I buy her flowers because I love her. She hugs my daughter goodnight. She lives here.”
ROBIN ST. JAMES
Outside of her parents, they were yet to tell anybody about the baby, having only just gotten legitimate confirmation themselves, so the last thing Robin wanted was for Scott and Charlie to know. Her gaze darted to her boyfriend when he began to speak, and she was grateful that he stopped himself. This was their thing, they were going to have their time to be happy about it, they didn’t need Scott to know or for Charlie to do that obnoxious smirk of his. Scott had never paid much attention to her, not since before they were married, so the fact that he was trying now was incredibly confusing. It was like jealousy or something, like he only wanted her now that someone else wanted her. His words meant nothing to her, though, and even as he reached out to take her hand, Robin tugged it away, focusing on Grant. He knew what to say. He always knew what to say, and Robin could feel her heart swelling with love as she took in his words, the way he was defending her and speaking so sincerely both to and about her. She really had never been more in love than in that very moment, and wasn’t about to waste anymore time with the likes of Scott and Charlie. Robin pushed past them to stand beside Grant, staying close to him as she took ahold of his hand. “You both need to leave, you shouldn’t be here. And you need to sign those papers, Scott.” She swallowed, locking eyes with him. “If you love me, you will sign those papers. I tried so hard with you, you know? I loved you, but not the way I love him. And you never loved me the way he loves me. Please, Scott, just sign the papers.” Robin looked up at her boyfriend, motioning toward the house. She needed him, just the two of them alone. “Baby, come on. Let's go inside our house.”
GRANT MCCARTHY
There was a slight frustration in Grant’s words, but it wasn’t desperation. He didn’t feel like he needed to defend their relationship to Robin. He knew that there wasn’t any competition with Scott. He was a piece of Robin’s past. She had given him enough reassurance that there wasn’t anything there. And standing there, seeing the way she reacted, or rather, didn’t react at all to Scott’s words, made it even more clear where her heart belonged. This was a waste of time. He just needed to sign the papers and move on because it was clear that Robin had move onto the life they were living together. He smiled weakly as Robin took a ahold of his hand. It was nice to hear that she hadn’t loved Scott the way that she loved him. Not that he needed that confirmation. She had already told him that this was different, but it was still nice to hear. “Leave. Or I’ll call the police,” he threatened, following Robin’s instructions and leading them toward their house. He entered in the key for the door and walked inside, making sure it closed behind him. He immediately wrapped his arms around her and rested his chin on top of her head. “Are you okay?” He asked, leaning his head down to place a small kiss on top of her head. “I’m sorry you got hurt out there,” he mumbled, bringing his hand up to rest it against her cheek where Charlie’s elbow had hit it. “And I’m sorry they showed up.” He didn’t really know what to say to her. He was upset that Scott and Charlie thought it was acceptable to harass her like this and he was upset that he had gotten so worked up that he punched him, but it had been a long time coming. “I shouldn’t have hit him. I know that, but no one gets to talk to you like that at your own house.”
ROBIN ST. JAMES
Honestly, Scott had never acted like this before, so Robin really didn’t know if he was going to leave or not. She knew Charlie was incredibly immature, she just hoped he hadn’t rubbed off on Scott too much, and that he’d do the adult thing and get out of there like both she and Grant had told him to. He wasn’t her problem anymore, she just wanted to be with her boyfriend in the safety of their home. Letting go of his hand once they were inside, Robin brought her hands up to settle on his chest, her fingertips rubbing almost lazily through the fabric of his shirt. She always felt the most protected like this, with Grant’s arms around her, their bodies close to one another’s. “I’m okay,” she promised, nodding her head. She winced at the feeling of Grant’s hand on her cheek, not realizing how hard Charlie’s elbow had hit her until that moment. Grant honestly had nothing to apologize for, and Robin looked up at him with a small smile, shaking her head. “Babe, stop. It’s not your fault that they showed up, it’s not your fault that I got hurt, and honestly, if you hadn’t hit him, I probably would’ve.” She laughed softly, sliding her hands gently up his chest until she could rest them delicately against the sides of his neck, eyes up on him. This was bold even for Robin, but she couldn’t get it out of her head, so she continued. “You know, you didn’t say that I’m not your wife. You said that I’m not your wife yet.” Her voice was soft. “Did you mean to say that?”
GRANT MCCARTHY
Robin’s guests were slowly becoming a distant memory as he stood there with her in his arms. They didn’t matter anymore. He didn’t care if they left or hung around outside. They weren’t getting in. They could waste their time. It didn’t matter. Robin was safely in his arms and Charlie couldn’t bother her anymore and Scott couldn’t try to manipulate her into falling back into that one-sided relationship he had trapped her in for years. She said she was okay, but he felt the way her body reacted to him touching her on the cheek and it worried him. “Do you want ice?” He offered up. His hand hurt, but he never really cared about his own pain. He was mostly worried about her. “I’m glad I hit him then,” he replied with a small chuckle. The last thing he wanted was Robin exerting herself any more than she had to. Although hitting Scott probably would have been worth it. He was glad that he had taken that step so that she did not have to. She kept talking, so looked down at her with a small smile, trying to hide his nervousness at her question. She was right. The words had just come out of his mouth, but they were deliberate. Grant rarely said things that he didn’t think about and he never said things that he didn’t mean. Trying to hide his slight embarrassment, he laughed and titled his head slightly, thinking of how to answer her question. “I meant it, yeah,” he said with a shrug. “I didn’t think we’d be having this conversation today...” He trailed off, taking in a deep breath. Talking about his feelings was still a pretty new concept for him and talking about the possibility of marriage in a positive light was not something he had ever done. “I’ve thought about it, you know? I’d like it if one day we were all McCarthys. Our child, you, hell, even Clover if he wants to take on the last name too.”
ROBIN ST. JAMES
It wasn’t like she necessarily wanted him to worry about her, but Robin couldn’t deny that it was really sweet, the way Grant cared about her the way he did. She offered him another small smile in response to his question. “No, I’m okay. How’s your hand?” She asked, reaching behind herself to gently take ahold of his left wrist, bringing it around to inspect it. His knuckles were red, she was pretty sure Scott’s face would be nicely bruised tomorrow. “Do you want me to get you ice for that?” She pressed her lips to his knuckles, so lightly that she barely touched him, then lowered his hand so he could wrap it around her again. If anyone had thought they were moving too quickly before, it was probably nothing in comparison to right now; the two of them having just received confirmation that they were having a baby together, and now talking about marriage. It was big, it made Robin’s heart race a little faster, but it wasn’t a bad thing. One month or ten years with Grant, Robin was confident that she’d be just as in love with him, and that everything would continue just as naturally as it had begun. “We don’t have to have this conversation,” she assured him, her voice still soft. There was a small smile on her lips as she watched him, pure adoration in her eyes. Robin reached up on her tiptoes to press her lips to Grant’s cheek. “I like that you’ve thought about it, though.” She lowered her voice, whispering by his ear, “I have, too.” Her lips pressed to the side of his face again. “Pick me up.”
GRANT MCCARTHY
Grant’s tendency to worry about Robin was only amplified now that was pregnant. It was just his natural instinct to want to protect someone he loved. He sent her a weak smile as she asked him about his hand. Of course, she was worried about him. That’s just how they were. “I’m fine,” he breathed out as she brought his hand close to her lips. “It’s better now.” He was happy to return his hand back to where it belonged, wrapped tightly around her. He hated letting go of her. Holding on to her was one of the best feelings in the world. Talking about marriage was a big deal, but he couldn’t lie to her. He had thought about it. It had even crossed his mind before they found out she was pregnant. There was no doubt in his mind that he was going to marry Robin one day. That had been obvious since the moment he realized that this was more than just a one-off hookup. And it had been pretty silly of either one of them to think it had ever been just sex between the two of them. “You have?” He smirked, his eyes moving to glance over at her as she kissed his cheek. He did as he was told and used one of his arms to lift up her legs, keeping her arms around her neck as his other arm supported her back. “I think I owe you a massage, honey,” he offered with a smirk. It didn’t take long for him to make his way to the stairs, holding onto her tight as he took them both to their bedroom. He paused in the doorway, staring down at her for a second to just take her in. He couldn’t wipe the grin off of his face as she looked at her. He was actually in awe of just how much he loved her. There was a bit of nervousness in his voice, but he shook it off. “I want to take you to Rome,” he spoke out with a smirk. “Before you get all cooped up with the pregnancy. Let me take you to Rome.”
ROBIN ST. JAMES
Robin always wanted to be close to Grant, but now more so than ever. She didn’t even care how clingy she seemed, she was completely okay with being clingy where her boyfriend was concerned. She knew that he was fine with it too, and Robin grinned as he did as instructed and lifted her up, her own arms wrapping securely around his neck and her legs around his waist. “I have,” she confirmed, leaning down to press her lips softly to his. Robin had been married before. Technically, she still was, and she’d always thought that she would be the kind of person that married once and stuck to it. She was glad she hadn’t forced it upon herself, because she’d meant what she’d said outside, she’d never loved Scott the same way she loved Grant. The idea of being his wife excited her, it felt like the most natural thing in the world. “I think you do,” she smirked, nodding her head in agreement. Evidently, being wrapped around him as he carried her upstairs and to their bedroom wasn’t close contact enough for her, and she found herself ducking her head to press her lips softly to the side of his neck, only pulling away once they’d reached the room and she felt his eyes on her. The way he was staring at her caused a small smile to rise on her lips, and she stared back at him with the same look of genuine love. “You do?” She questioned, smile widening a little. “You can definitely take me there. Although the fantasy is kind of invalid now. I already fell in love. I’m not complaining about going there with the man I love, though.” Her soft smirk returned as she met his gaze with her own. “I’m so in love with you, Grant.” She tightened her arms around him. “Did you know that? I'm so, so in love with you. Let me show you.”
