2. The first song you remember loving

I have like a visceral memory of listening to Coldplay’s Speed of Sound for the first time at like 2 a.m. when I was in middle school. I know I loved other songs before this one, but it’s the first song I remember loving entirely on my own and not something influenced by the people around me.

11. A song that means a lot to you

Blackbird by The Beatles. Ob-la-di Ob-la-da also by The Beatles. The Secret Life of Day Dreams from the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack. There are others but these are probs the most important.

37. A song that reminds you of your best friend.

Really, Bear? Lol Waters Edge and Garden of Evil by 1997. Suedehead by Morrissey. Just my Imagination by The Cranberries. Mountain Sound by Of Monsters and Men. There are others but these are the most prominent.

38. Your favorite song from childhood.

Literally all of Garth Brooks’ music. The Eagles. Elton John. Simon and Garfunkel. Also.... *NSYNC and Blink 182. All of that combined makes 10 year old Andee.

Erik Malpica Flores vio: Estrenos USA (29/03/2019) – Llega ‘Dumbo’, otro clsico de Disney en accin real

Con Tim Burton a la cabeza, este fin de semana llega a las carteleras estadounidenses la nueva pelcula de Disney, ‘Dumbo‘ (Buena Vista International Pictures), nueva adaptacin en accin real del clsico animado que Walt Disney estren el 23 de octubre de 1941. Este ser el ao de los clsicos Disney, pues tras dos aos sin estrenar ninguno (el ltimo fue ‘La Bella y la Bestia‘ en 2017), en 2019 llegarn ‘Dumbo‘, ‘Aladdin‘ (estreno el 24 de mayo), ‘El rey len‘ (estreno el 19 de julio) y ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil‘ (estreno el 18 de octubre)

Con un reparto encabezado por Eva Green, Michael Keaton, Colin Farrell, Danny DeVito y Alan Arkin entre otros, las espectativas con ‘Dumbo‘ no son tan elevadas como con otros clsicos, pues las estimaciones le otorgan una cantidad que rondara los 65 millones de dlares en su estreno (aproximadamente lo recaudado por ‘Cenicienta‘ en 2015). Muy lejos por tanto de otros clsicos como ‘La Bella y la Bestia‘, que en 2017 super los 170 millones de dlares en su estreno…

Hay que hablar tambin del estreno de ‘The Beach Bum‘ (Neon), pelcula dirigida por Harmony Korine y protagonizada por Matthew McConaughey que apenas alcanzar los 2 millones de dlares en taquilla. Se trata de una “refrescante, original y subversiva comedia” que sigue las hilarantes desventuras de un pcaro rebelde llamado Moondog que siempre vive la vida segn sus propias reglas. La crtica no est siendo muy positiva, pues tan solo cuenta con un 56% de valoraciones positivas en Rotten Tomatoes.

Terminamos nuestro repaso con un interesante estreno VOD, la pelcula de Netflix, ‘Emboscada final‘. Dirigida por John Lee Hancock y protagonizada por Kevin Costner y Woody Harrelson, la cinta retrata la historia nunca antes contada de los legendarios detectives que pusieron fin a la historia de Bonnie y Clyde. Cuando todos los esfuerzos de FBI y la ltima tecnologa forense no son suficientes para atrapar a los criminales ms famosos de la nacin, dos antiguos Rangers de Texas debern confiar en su instinto y en sus habilidades de la vieja escuela para cumplir con el objetivo.

De cara al prximo fin de semana tendremos dos estreno muy interesantes: ‘Cementerio de animales‘ (Paramount Pictures) y especialmente ‘Shazam!‘ (Warner Bros. Pictures), adaptacin de cmic de DC que protagoniza Zachary Levi.

Behind the Music with the DJ Judge Show on Deconstruct

My music is a dream come true. Making music with old and new friends and in some cases people I never would have dreamed I'd play with.

Band Name: DJ Judge Show- Strength In Numbers (The Fools Rush In vs. The Cosmic Crime League)

Person Interviewing: Odell Robinson

Song name: Deconstruct (Ode to the Moms) feat. Cortney D and Charles Carrasco

The song is about the day in the life of a Mom with challenging children. Lyrics are written by Cortney DeAugustine who is a talented musician who happens to be a Mom of 3 kids. The music is inspired by Led Zep's song Kashmir, hence the "deconstruct"

My music is a reflection of my life. Good friends and a beautiful family. My project Strength In Numbers features some of the best musicians in the Sacramento area and from around the world. My music is a dream come true. Making music with old and new friends and in some cases people I never would have dreamed I'd play with. It's rock n roll, it's a poppy, slamming good time.

I play a unique instrument. I play 12 string bass. The bass is featured prominently on the song "Deconstruct.." My direction is forward, making as much music as I can with as many guitars as possible. Its shame things are the way they are. From giggin' to record companies, the "business" is a drag. Being a musician today: The art of making music is better than ever. Technology has made it so I can record with someone in Italy or Brooklyn, NY (which I did.) Gear is crazy and fun to integrate into my music. Being a musician is great. Why you love to create music: It's just what I do.

What piece of music advice forever changed your way of thinking?: I don't know who said it, but multiple people at some point or another have said to me, " Don't worry about it. Just do your thang!" So I do my "thang" with no fear... and I don't worry about "it".
