ok i obviously don't actually know anything, but i have been writing stories pretty consistently (ish) for the past eleven years, and it is what i want to do with my life. and something that i have learned that really does make a difference, is if you feel like something sounds stilted or just doesn't fit, you have to delete it. i often opened another doc and paste what i'm deleting into it, just case i want to go back and replace it or pouch little bits and pieces from it, but i promise, so often when something just isn't working in a scene or whatever, no matter how much you love it, if you have even a small thought that it has to go, it has to go!

#i have gone through so much grief bc i really like a passage and don't want to take it out #once i started just deleting the whole thing and then incorporating my favorite lines/sentences in other area- i have been so much happier #anyways that is your unsolicited ros advice for the day
