Fitz and Jemma had spent several holiday seasons together, but their first one together was . . . well. It was pretty perfect.

On Christmas Eve, they curled up together on Fitz’s old twin bed in his childhood room. The colorful glow of his mum’s holiday lights peeked through the window shades and lit up the contented smile on Jemma’s face. Fitz’s room was right above the kitchen, so he could still smell the cinnamon from the dozens of cookies they’d baked earlier that evening. And he felt just about as excited as he did as a kid on Christmas Eve, only now it was because he couldn’t wait to give Jemma her gifts.
