I've been inactive lately because I got sick on friday and it got. worse throughout the days, but this person on twitter basically sums up my whole thought about the whole president debacle
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
#qsmp#dk if i should tag this as discourse#warn me if yes#but basically yeah its a weird mix of rp and meta#and looking back on it i sooo wish the “the federation can not approve it!” argument didnt exist during the debates#cause#rp aside. lets look on the meta#the admins went through all the trouble to think of the whole arc#the debates; el quackity; the voting system#and then after ALL THAT TROUBLE#they would just deny every presidential request ever???? lol#also this is something i dont think many ppl on tumblr know#because generally pt speakers dont talk about it a lot either#but the reason cellbit and forever disagreed with the council bbh and baghera proposed#was that their council would make it so there was no president#and their disagreement of this council was coming ONE HUNDRED PERCENT FROM META#because when cellbit and forever talked about it at the beginning of the elections#forever mentioned how the admins put limits on what they can do#and gave an example about the day they got felps and cellbit back where they had to do a certain way#and cellbit agreed with him#their logic was just that since the admins went through the whole trouble of coming up with the elections#its because the admins WANT to have a president and they wouldnt allow for the president to not exist#also Cellbit agreed that if you excluded the admins controlling the lore it would make sense to have a council#he said something like “in brazil we have like millions of people and we can't really have everyone give their opinions so thats why we#elect ppl to represent us. its not the case of this island where you can just go for a walk and you find out what everyone wants/thinks in#15 minutes“

One thing I’m really curious about is how the creators themselves view the story in light of certain people being removed from the series.
Warning: I’m going to talk about those-who-shall-not-be-named (Wilbur and Forever)
Because here’s the thing. The whole reason these people have been removed from the series is to reduce their reach to hurt both the collective audience and their peer creators, and with that comes a decision to cut them from the narrative completely so that they don’t gain even a little of that notoriety and power back through association.
And so if they choose to completely retcon them out- as a lot of the community has chosen to do- I totally get that. In a lot of ways it’s the right choice- story and history be damned. At the end of the day nothing in a silly Minecraft story is important as real people’s lives, and I think (hope) all of the creators and writers left on QSMP seem to agree with that.
But… I also recognize that they have- to differing degrees- been part of HUGE parts of the QSMP story, both overall and in different characters lives, and unless we all collectively erase like 60% of the series so far, they will continue to be there in the history.
Like, on the lesser impact side, you have Wilbur, one of the original train-riding islanders, an original member of the Death Family, originally the only father of Talullah. He may been so absent that it became a running joke on the server, but if you cut every mention of him completely, Tallulah’s story and growth over the past year disintegrate underneath her. Tallulah was very specifically an only child of a single father, dealing with the constant feeling of loneliness in his absence, growing disillusioned with the world as he broke his promises and never came back for her, but also growing closer to her family as she learned what constant care and nurturing actually looks like through Phil. I’m all for her being fully adopted by Death Family now and taking more and more traits from Phil and Missa, but that new identity as part of their family is the conclusion of her story, not the beginning. While Missa is away a lot of time, he’s not absent in a way that’s fair or fitting to impose her story on to him.
Really the only choice is to disregard everything from the beginning and basically retcon her story entirely, or take the story as it is and let Wilbur be there. Although now the story has still changed a little with his removal because now he’s a deadbeat who made empty promises and couldn’t bring himself to do more than play house for a couple weeks and be possessive and toxic when he came back one time when she was missing- which feels like a pretty honest interpretation given what we know now.
But then there’s Forever. One of the Favela Five, a major face in and winner of the long series election arc, the face and President of both the islanders and Federation, one of the main characters in the Happy Pills/Eggs Missing arc, and one of the original parents of Richarlyson. He isn’t just a part of the QSMP history, he’s heavily intertwined with most of the server story between the early days and the Purgatory arc. Even interpersonally, he was deeply involved with Badboyhalo, Cellbit, Pac and to an extent Philza, and that’s just who I remember off the top of my head.
Where as Wilbur is only able to be found in the details in the little house he built for his daughter and the memories of the family she built, Forever’s influence is everywhere you look in the old parts of the server- his face on the Federation building, his projects littered around the spawn and his base and the Favela, the Favela it self built next to a man-made ocean he carved out of the landscape (if I remember correctly). I don’t want to overstate this and imply that he’s the most important character of the server or something because he’s definitely not, but it is true that as president he was deeply involved in and invested in the stories happening around him and removing him completely from history takes a lot of that history with him.
And choosing whether or not to remove his character is even harder than Wilbur’s because his character on the server was genuinely a good person. He was caring, charismatic, ambitious and visionary, he was both a leader and friend to a lot of the characters (and creators really), and in the end his character simply died trying to do what was right for his family.
I don’t know, I don’t really want their stories to stay relevant to the QSMP. Maybe I’m overthinking their relevance. Maybe the creators will continue to just ignore it. Maybe when we get the writers back and they’re properly paid for their work they’ll have the creative energy needed to rework their histories in a satisfying way without them- that’s what I hope at least.
In a way this post is kind of just a little thought experiment- a little moment of reflection on history if you will, just a moment before we’re faced with the changing tides of this server again.

Baghera Jones is her own person that can make her own decisions, thank you very much
I wasn't going to post this here because most of this discourse came from the bird app, but I've seen so much posts here (and in my notes) that I need to get this out of my chest. So this post is going to be TW: fandom neg about Baghera treatment by the QSMP community, be warned.
So, where to begin?
I keep seeing post about Q!Baghera being a bad friend to Forever, insulting her, saying she" hate him" and that it would be better if Forever only interact with Brazilians from now on. And I'm tired of this shit
" She will clearly always side with BBH whatever Forever do"
Oh, so we have a woman friend with two men, so of course she needs to take sides. Forbid her to have her personal opinions, it all about choosing the guy she likes the most, isn't it ? How people don't realize hoe misogynistic that way of thinking is !?
She literally connected on the server yesterday, learned that Forever wanted to build a prison to imprison players and that he pass a law that was specifically targeted at one of her other friends. Of course, she said that she will stand by BBH if this continues. She is trying to comfort him because from HER perspective, he's being targeted by unfair laws, and he is still (in lore) experiencing psychological problems. She didn't side with him, she chooses to help him. Because she can make decision with the information she has.
" But she is always against what Forever propose with the government"
I'm sorry, where were you when the election arc happens? Probably insulting Baghera because she dare have opinions and calling them "stupid" and "baseless" to the point she quitted I guess? q!Baghera was ALWAYS anti-federation. She joined the election so she could start a revolution. Even after she accepted to not do that, she always defends the point that having a president was a bad idea and that a council would be better. These ideas aren't new and she didn't stop having them after Forever got elected. It makes sense for her character to oppose to him, because she was never for a president in first place.
Yesterday, she didn't say she thought his idea of vote is stupid. She says that she doesn't agree with HOW it's done right now and that they can make it better. More representative of the people. But when she talked to Forever, he basically ran away when she started saying she didn't like it. Then they got interrupted by Bad. She hadn't the time to explain herself and people are acting like she said the idea(and Forever) was bad when she never says such thing. And even if she was totally against it, she would have the right to. She has the right to have a different opinion than her friends.
" But she is always hiding things!"
Clearly, you haven't watched Baghera's stream in a long time. What does she have to hide, I'm asking you? She never gets lore, and never has any in the past. Every time sometimes mildly exciting happen, she is running to another player just so she could tell them. In the election arc she was even sharing a ton of secrets with Cellbit, a guy she was convince was a dormant agent, just because he was on the server at the same time as her and she needed to share! She is only keeping secrets that other people told her. You know, like a good friend? Also, she sometimes forgot to say things right away, but cc! Baghera has ADHD, so it's not on purpose she sometimes forgets things. CC! Baghera said that canonically, her character trust Forever 100%, and she kept it that way so far. She just has no secrets to share right now because she isn't getting any lore.
" But Forever is always alone these days, and Baghera isn't appreciative of his work!"
Pshhh, I'm going to tell you a secret. You know who's alone 90% of their streams? BAGHERA JONES! She is in her castle alone, building. And why she spends the other 10% with people? Because she goes to people to check on them! Does Forever do that? No. He's in is isolation arc. We have never seen him check on what Baghera was doing or asking to do something together. Several times we've seen the players having fun while he was online, and he didn't join. It's not Baghera's job to go fetch him to play and help him when he isn't asking for it. And she always shows appreciation for what he is doing, just not in his face. Things you would know if y'all were actually watching her POV. She has Portuguese and English subtitle on at all times, you have no excuses. And why these type of comments are always directed toward Baghera and nobody else in the server that are doing stuff aside from Forever? Literally, I've never seen anyone else being call names because they are not tending to someone else need. Truly strange that it's directed at a woman, isn't it?
Baghera said in live recently that she has to take a break from doing lore with some of the streamers with the biggest community because she was getting hate every single time she was interacting with them. She didn't say names, But we all know who she was talking about. And I think it sucks she has to walk on eggshells around Brazilian players because of that. That she try to not be too friendly/teasing with Forever because of that. If you don't see her spending time with him as much, now you know why. They are still friend, but she doesn't want to deal with the community bullshit.
To conclude
She said that she wants her character to be recognized for her own achievement and not just be "Forever and bad third friend". And I'm also tired of this. She has the right to have opinions. She has the right to make decisions that contradict the ones of her friends. Furthermore, she isn't "Forever bad friend" or "BadBoyHalo emotional support woman". She is her own person. Stop acting like she's picking sides. Stop to infantilize her by saying that "she needs to think about the way she's acting". All her decisions make sense in universe. She has the right to defend her friend, she has the right to do her castle in peace, she has the right to not spend time with/help her brother if she doesn't feel like it. SHE has the RIGHT to exist at the SAME LEVEL as BBH and Forever, not as their accessory that is there to break them apart.
We have a lot more women on the server now that Jaiden plays regularly and with the new players. Let threat them like person, not just by the lenses of the men of the QSMP. Go watch their POV. Ask questions to people that watch them on main.
I'm so tired of this, it's being going on for months. I know the biggest part of the community is nice and love her. At least until she does something they don't like. I'm so tired...

I've seen a person or two intrigued by q!Antoine's thoughts on Forever and Cellbit (not in a bad way at all, just that they were curious), and I wanted to point out a few things for those who were wondering.
(To be clear, Antoine, the cc, is VERY GOOD at roleplaying when his character doesn't know things but he does, for an example, one time he was talking about his suspicions on Baghera, and his chat was trying to justify her, he answered "I know. But my character doesn't." He is very aware of these type of situations.)
Anyway, wanted to point out how in q!Antoine's eyes, Forever and Cellbit being suspicious makes a lot of sense, especially since he is a paranoïd character (that was stated by cc Antoine himself) :
Outside of the first day, wich we can consider mostly out of character for the french etc and the second wich was fairly normal and in wich both Cellbit and Forever explained the danger of the island to Antoine and Baghs... His first impression of Cellbit and Forever were during the Richarlyson custody battle : Forever being at his lowest, and Cellbit being extremely suspicious and asking questions to them.
Then his second direct interaction with Forever was during the consecutive Pomme attacks, where Forever was panicking because nobody was listening to him, and when Ninho failed to work properly at the third attack. He already expressed (in character) some of his suspisions at that time, I think most of you remember.
Then Cellbit disappeared and he didn't get to meet or talk with Forever during that time.
After that came the elections, in wich his second major impression of the duo was Cellbit being changed since the kidnapping, somehow the two being reconciled, and both being very enthusiastic about becoming president. (there already you can see where he has his reserves)
Also, after the first debate, where he saw them being very adamant about being the best choices for being president, Forever came at his base to directly talk to him about all the good things that he did, and that he'll do if he was elected president. To q!Antoine, a deeply paranoïd character, and ANTI-election from the very begining, that was a BAD MOVE. (this was then quickly followed by BBH, then Baghs, doing a similar thing, two characters he doesn't trust too much either for a lot of things)
At the night of the second debate he saw them being enthusiastic about becoming president again, without adressing the problems of the presidency once again, and both expressed again their willingness to work with the federation. THAT to q!Antoine, was very suspicious. Like he said himself : ElQuackity is obviously the wrong choice and federation candidate. TOO obviously... There is somehting fishy about Cellbit...
TLDR : q!Antoine got introduced to the two of them through their worst times, and skipped a few steps to directly see them reconciled and allied to become something that seems very dangerous and powerful, and that he doesn't want. No wonder he's suspicious.

I haven’t watched hardly any pov from Forever (this is not about the cc this is about their characters) I have seen every bbh stream since the beginning.
for the most part a project like the qsmp lends itself to each character doing there best (thats why the federation is there to play villian, a brilliant well thought out decision) so I do believe that forever of course has his story line working with him doing his best. That said their are a few slight cruelties he has done towards bbh (which he may not have meant but still a slight)
during the election forever pressured bad to vote for him pinning their friendship together on the line, bad didnt want to commit because he was reserved about forevers view of the presidency being polar to his own but for Bad wanting to communicate his love towards forever goes through with it, forever agreeing the same. Forever didn’t.
while I have seen from others (fanpost) and Richas has stated that Forever is joking when taking credit for things Bad has done it does hold a slight sliver for bad’s storyline as forever’s campaign was heavy on how ‘no-one’ has done more for the island and eggs then he. Bad has done a lot. Then,
now there was quite a complex mess of issues with “joke laws voting” however when trying to discuss their thoughts together forever spoke over bad (and I understand there were mic issues and the panic of not feeling able to communicate properly in a second language is incredibly valid) however forever simply ran off not communicating that he’d like to bring someone like cellbit into the discussion to continue further, he got cellbit and ran off not honoring bad enough to stay. And even worse by Cellbit’s words “help he’s going to kill me”. This absolutely winded Bad. He wanted to talk and was hurt and was instead seen as wanting to ‘kill forever’ which was a big blow for Bad in Forever’s opinion of him.
now I think all these things being harder on bad is actually forever being closer to him as being harder on someone particularly in times of pressure often shows an amount of vulnerability or trust that they can repair the situation later but it has been something ive noted particularly as forever has seemed to have pulled away a lot with the elections and presidency. No doubt for forevers own character arch and journey things my not be as they seem from another view.
i state these things because it’s interesting to dissect media this is not criticism of any content creator, this is literally what makes content content. Analyzing can help further promote my own recognition and self growth in patterns, my analysis can be/is flawed and skewed. Its fun. I also mention this as I saw some fans speak of how Bad is viewed from their perspective which is legit but I wanted to add to the list some things from a bad pov person.
