"you here alone?" she would not usually be as forthcoming , intrigue growing within her from spotting the figure across the room. she was taken away by thoughts of which lingered, deciding to get a drink at a local bar. she felt odd to be on the other side of the bar, normally being the bartender herself. she felt lost, undefined in such a new location. she felt as if her use had been lost, along with luke and tyler. the two people in her life that had meant the most, and now ? she did not know who she is. "penny for your thoughts?" @jcssicahamby

Fuck she's lightheaded. At first, Jacob's words don't register as they swim with the other half-formed thoughts in her head. She's got a nice slice, just below her ribcage on her left side that's bleeding like a sonofabitch and while she knows she needs to stay awake, it's starting to become harder and harder to do so. The shot of pain that rings through her as Jacob lifted her from her spot on the floor wakes her right up, however, and is accompanied by a whining yelp.
"I'm--I'm gonna slow you down." She pants through gritted teeth, her arm looping around his neck to at least try to help support her weight. "Jake, you gotta just--There's gotta be someplace you can stash me and then you gotta go." For his sake, she smiles as best she can, lashes fluttering over her partially unfocused gaze as she battles against the lightheadedness, "I'm gonna be okay." She doesn't believe that. She's starting to feel cold. "But we can't both get hurt. We're not gonna make it out if that happens."
Jacob knows that moving her wasn't ideal. That he should call for help- apply pressure. If there was a first aid kit, which there was- somewhere, he should get it, do his best to clean the wound, get it bandaged if he can.. but there isn't time for that. She's weak, and growing weaker. Luckily enough, he's used to carrying people what with his time back home spent as a volunteer firefighter. "I'm not gonna leave you." He stated stubbornly. For all he knew they were all that was left.
"Just.. stay with me, okay? I'm going to get us to the office. Once we're there I'm going to take care of you, okay?" He informs her of his plan, talking her through it while he moves hastily towards the building. He's pleading- if there is a God to plead to, that they make it there safe, that she can hold on just a little longer. He can feel her blood on him, and with it a tightness forms in his throat. The situation was truly fucked. "We're not far. It's going to be okay." He makes that promise as if he has any power to enforce it.

What We Do in the Shadows Sentence Meme   //   Accepting  @nanlanmo sent: ‘i’m just here to scare you guys.’
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lexa was not proud of the high pitched SHRIEK which escaped her lungs only a few moments ago. She wasn’t usually so jumpy, but Jessica’s presence was completely unbeknownst to her. She couldn’t decide what was more embarrassing: being unable to detect the vampire or letting her guard down like that.
“ Gee, thank you for that, ” Lexa huffed with a roll of her eyes and lowered the flashlight. “ We were just saying this investigation could use some cardiac arrest. ” So far ( besides the stunt that was just pulled ) , the house seemed to be abandoned and nothing more. Sure, it was a little eerie, wandering around a fully furnished home that had been slowly decaying for years in the dark, but there weren’t any signs of a haunting. Of course, Lexa and the other two hunters had only gotten a good look at the first floor. Even if the redhead had only tagged along to tease them, it might be good to have a vampire with them in case other supernatural forces revealed themselves.
“ Well, since you’re here, you can search the basement with us. ”

Jessica's hands are shaking. There's blood, sticky and turning dark, up her arms and her eyes are wide as she ambled into the main room of the dining hall from where she'd been hiding in the pantry. She'd heard Jacob's voice and at first, she'd thought it might've been a trick. The killer that'd murdered her roommate trying to bait her out of her hiding spot by sounding like Jacob, but that was insane. No more insane than the night they were all trapped in, but still. "I'm sorry--" She murmured, turning her attention up to Jacob's face, her bottom lip trembling as she allowed relief to wash through her. She wasn't alone.
"He--" Her voice cracked, "He killed Sarah right in front of me." The redhead had wanted to fight, had actually managed to pull her dying friend away from the killer for a brief moment before the other girl was tugged away from her. It was her blood that was smeared on Jessica's arms and clothes. "I didn't know what to do so I hid, I'm so sorry." Fat tears rolled down her cheeks as her breath hitched, "Why is this happenin'?!"
Jacob doesn't know what's happening; All he knows is that the camp has gone freakishly quiet. It was the weekend before camp, which the counselors always spent in preparation- though most of the time was spent partying, and enjoying the lack of responsibilities the outside world forced upon them. It was his home away from home, and suddenly he found that many of the people were missing. Some stupid prank amping up to its big crescendo he figures.
As he scanned her, taking in the scene he realized it was not just some sick prank. That the blood he'd seen on the docks was real, not some FX that one of the other counselors thought would make for a good stunt. "There.. was blood-" He shook his head. "Sarah's dead?" He repeats and the disbelief was apparent in his tone. "Fuck.. Uh.. We should get to the office." He states. In the office, there was a radio- if it hadn't already been sabatoged.

Jessica soon found herself in the English Countryside. The Sun was out less than it was in the states, and she found she could actually enjoy being out during the day. However, that wasn’t the only thing that drew her the country. She’d been through so much pain, and was desperate for an escape. She had heard from an older vampire, that there was a castle where vampires could stay. He said that she didn’t have to pay--but she thought that to good to be true, so she still brought all the money that was left to her.
She was stunned at the size of the castle, and was completely overwhelmed when she found out a King lived there. The thought of the last king she met made her shutter, but then again that king was a psychopath. Jessica needed a vacation, and she took a risk and walked in, past the butler. He told her to wait, and that her bags would be brought up to her room. She looked around the foyer, admiring all of the art and sculptures that must have been collected throughout the centuries.

H a l l o w e e n. The red-headed “baby” vamp had been Queen for a little over a year now. She’d guarded her territory well, working hard to keep her subjects happy and in line. It hadn’t been easy, but she had done it. It was time for a r e w a r d. She’d heard about amazing parties that go on in New Orleans, though she’d never had a chance to experience it for herself. Now she was on her own, and she wanted to p a r t y. She took out her favorite red corvette, and arrived fast in front of the building in New Orleans. She tossed her keys at the valet, and straightened her black mask, her heels clicking on the stones as she entered. She looked around, at the enormous ball room, filled to the brim with people--and a l c o h o l. She grinned, and descended the elegant staircase.

  Raymond Howard Caldwell, age 58
Raymond Howard Caldwell, age 58, of North Wilkesboro, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, March 8, 2019. He was surrounded by his family and love ones as he peacefully met Jesus and entered his eternal home. Raymond was born August 23, 1960 in Oxford, Pennsylvania to Oscar Howard and Esta Stanley Caldwell. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dallas Gene Caldwell and James David Caldwell.
He served in the United States Army National Guard, where of many values he developed a superb work ethic. Raymond was known to work hard for his family and love ones during his lifetime. He was selfless. Many times he would sacrifice his needs and wants to make sure his kids and family were taken care of first. His jobs ranged from installing siding and windows to selling auto parts and working at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Raymond was an avid softball player, with a wall full of trophies. As wells as a coach for local county little league for many years. He enjoyed working on and restoring old cars. Anyone who knew Raymond was well aware of his "itch" to find an old 70's car and bring it back to its luster.
His love of people was evident by just meeting Raymond. "Everyone Loves Raymond" wasn't a joke, because if you met Raymond he infected you with his laughter, jokes and his love of life. He never met a stranger and would talk to you about his love for the Lord Jesus, as well as, listening to your stresses to help lift your burdens. Raymond was always ready with an uplifting word. He always had a joke handy, one of which was to send a new siding installer to the truck for the "siding stretcher"(think about it , "can you stretch siding?) He was blessed to work many years with two of his sons and his longtime friend, Randy Little, in the siding business. He had an infectious smile, since of humor, love of life and love for his Lord Jesus which he was entrusted his family with to carry forward.
Raymond's love of animals brought many rescues to his home, two of which were a small scotty dog named "Razor" that went everywhere Raymond went tucked in an inner jacket pocket or under a shirt to go "bye-bye" for a truck ride. Razor passed years ago and his affections were taken over by a tail-less kitten that he nursed to health. McKenna became his loyal companion and would not leave his side. She even played fetch with him as he would throw a pencil and she would run get it, flip it in her mouth and bring it back to him. She calmed him in later months of his illness and she was at his side as Raymond passed.
Surviving are his wife, Melissa McLeese-Caldwell of the home; sons, Jeffrey Allen Caldwell and wife Kristy of Wilkesboro, Phillip Nathan McLeese and wife Sarah of Jefferson, Jeremy Scott Osborne and wife Samantha of Boomer; daughter, Erica McLeese Billings and husband Jonathan of North Wilkesboro; brother, , John Richard Cardwell of North Wilkesboro  his "grands", Joshua Scott Osborne, Bryson Lee Osborne, Eliana Grace Caldwell, Adilyn Bell Caldwell, John Thomas "J.T." Billings and "J.T.'s baby sister Audrey Kate Billings, due in June; brothers, Donald Franklin Walter and wife Nancy of North Wilkesboro; sisters, Della Kathleen Osborne and husband David, Wilkesboro, Debra Ann Jones of Mtn. View, Esta Marie Caldwell of Hiddenite; and one of his best pals Jerry Call, who was like a father to him.

  Geraldine Beshears, 88
Geraldine "Gerry" Clark Beshears, 88 entered Heaven's glory on April 30, 2018.  Her faith became sight after a lifetime of loving and serving her Lord and those whom He placed in her life.
Gerry was born on May 24, 1929 in Hinton, WV to the late Albert Ross Clark and Emma Ruth Harvey Clark.  She moved to Baltimore, MD, as an adult where she met and married Charles Beshears with whom she would live and faithfully love for fifty-eight years. Together, Gerry and charles served the Lord, built a home, reared three children, and spoiled their grandchildren.
Gerry and Charles relocated to Purlear, NC where their home was a gathering place for family celebrations for the next forty-five years.  It was there that love for the Lord, family, and others was passed to future generations.  Mamaw, as she was known to family, made everyone feel special with home cooked meals, delicious desserts, and the gentle spirit that was her hallmark.  Her life epitomized the words from Proverbs 31: Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:  "Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all." Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a women who fears the Lord is to be praised.  Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.
While in Purlear, Gerry was an active and humble servant in New Hope Baptist church.  She served in many capacities, but is most beloved as a GA (Girls in Action) leader and Sunday school teacher - roles that she filled for more than forty years.  Her selfless service and love were examples to all who kne3w her.  Many have been blessed by her visits, phone calls, cards and letters, and rides to doctor appointments when they were going through difficult times.
Her own difficult times necessitates a move to Cross Rose Retirement community in Asheboro, NC, where both her own and Charles' health needs could be met.  For the next five years, her life continued to shine the light of Christ on new friends. Her absence leaves an emptiness in the hears of those who cherished her; howver, the ones who share her faith in Christ know her will live with her in eternity.
Gerry is survived by her daughter Cheryl Benton and husband Mike of Morganton, daughter Cindy McManus and husband Harold of Archdale and daughter-in-law Gaynell Beshears of Purlear.  Her beloved grandchildren are Emily Benton, Hannah Benton Penley and husband Ryan, Michael Benton, Benjamin McManus and wife Jenny, Joseph McManus, Jared and Jonathan Beshears.  She is also surved by a brother, Ralph Clark and wife Jane of Hickory, a sister-in-law, Betty Beshears of Purlear, a niece, Kay Karminski and husband Lee of Woolford, MD and niece Janet Ahmad and husband Ahmad of Texas and many other well-loved nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, her son, Danny Beshears, her grandson, Aaron McManus, three brothers and two sisters.
A service celebrating her life and faith was held New Hope Baptist Church fellowship hall sanctuary in Purlear. Following the service, Gerry will be buried at Yellow Hill cemetery beside her beloved Charles.  Reverend Mike Stamper will officiate the service and Pastor Dan Qurollo will officiate at the graveside..
