OC ask meme lets go 16-20 and 31 & 32
YEEHAW let's do it... these are fun ones thank u
Which one of your OCs would be the best at biology (school subject)? Best biologist would be Yarrow if he actually focused on it because organic sciences come more easily to him, but also he might not be the best because his focus would be everywhere. Roman is the secondmost likely to do well at it because he's a giant nerd who lives for school and knowledge and just always does that with all his classes.
Any OC OTPs? oOO with my own guys not as much but me and my wife have a few... huge shoutout to the OGs Roman and Vince, still going strong quite literally 14 years now! (Of my own characters besides this I think I'm... forming an otp for two skyship captains... late-middle aged milf rivals is very tempting to me)
Tumblr media
Any OC crackships? fjfhd GOOD question. I think Yarrow smash or passing every character I have is very funny as an idea, and maybe the funniest possibility is like. the absolutely world-ending relationships between the primal gods of my setting (the giant 200 mile centipede has the hots for the unknowably huge primal god of earth, go girls!!!)
Introduce an OC that means a lot to you (and explain why) Okay choosing one is hard but I've been thinking abt him a lot so it's time to talk abt Yarrow!! Yarrow was the first developed OC that I made that wasn't either Just Me but slightly different (i.e. Roman) or tied/inspired by some sort of media (FR, other games I'd played) and like... idk!!! He's very important to me because of that but because he was the first character that I sat down and purposefully made a detailed background for, and is still one of the few characters I have that is intensely bold and has hard edges to him. He represents overcoming obstacles to me and becoming genuinely good person because you want it even if you're not perfect or 100% successful all the time, and then applying that same grace to others. Also he's fun to get clothes designed for and can be a goofy guy on the side which means I have fun with him in serious and silly situations.
Tumblr media
Do any of your OCs sing? If they sing, care to share more details (headcanon voice, what kind of songs they like etc)? Of my developed OCs that I can think of off the top of my head, Roman and Yarrow and Sgositova can for SURE sing and do so enough that others would know about it. Roman's a tenor with the best overall vocal skill of the bunch (he can get very loud if he wants to and still sounds pretty good!), Yarrow's a high baritone who has evolved to be a little more smooth jazz than his original voice claims (somewhere in the slider between Michael Buble and Frank Sinatra), and Tova's the worst singer technically with the most gusto and she's a husky-voiced alto (sea shanties will do that). OCs that can sing decently but don't do it often are Rho (higher alto than Tova, could sing lounge jazz if she wasn't shy) and Leynth (tenor as well, beautiful voice but has trouble with breath support and holding a note without accompaniment).
Pick one OC of yours and explain what their tumblr blog would be like (what they reblog, layout, anything really) Gonna pick someone I haven't mentioned as much it's time for Grey because I think his blog would be objectively funny. Grey's blog is aesthetic black and white photos of modern architecture, grandiose party aesthetics, jewelry and suits (with links to buy them that were either there or he added on his own), and advertisements for his own business products (assuming they existed). He'd tag things with a three digit code depending on type and would have everything queued and genuinely it'd be hard to determine whether his account was a personal or company account until one day he posts something notably horny or extremely emotional and then quickly covers it up with about 80 reblogs.
Which one of your OCs would be the most suitable horror game protagonist and why? Roman.............................................................. just because he'd be a miserable little bastard who's nearly crying and says "who's there????" at every noise. Special mention to Dehiscence for being the monster in a horror game tho they'd do well.

Leynth is a dreamwalker who functions mainly as a ‘search and rescue’ type, but with a little twist. He never moves very far from his own dream bubble when sleeping because he only ever visits the dreams of those that he is physically, in the waking world, within arm’s reach of. Although distances do not exactly coincide with the dream world, he will always find the plagued dreamer right next to him when he sleeps.
Leynth then sits or stands with them, and talks to them about what they’re feeling. He’ll observe their nightmare and how it manifests, hear the true heart of who he’s helping, and then set to work to soothe them. Besides using empathy and reason to speak to them, his presence and voice are incredibly calming - he emits a gentle glow that pushes back the nightmare further the longer that he speaks and is heard, and if he sings a lullaby in the dream world the effect is magnified. For fears not rooted in trauma, this usually dispels the nightmares at hand and has a lasting effect of better sleep for whoever he helps.
Should he find a deeper trauma is effecting the dreamer, he has another trick up his sleeve. Leynth can pluck a feather from his many wings in his dream form and, with the help of the dreamer, plant it within their dreamscape. He and the dreamer will then spend the entire night talking and caring for the buried feather, and by dawn it will have sprouted into a delicate flower, mostly white with a faint luminescence that ranges from seafoam green to baby blue. Each dream from then on, should the dreamer give the flower a moment’s thought within that time, it will grow - within a month or two, the stem will begin to thicken and form into something close to a wisteria tree in appearance. The flower and the more sturdy tree function as a permanent ward against trauma-induced nightmares, even long after Leynth has left them. Even though it is a slow and delicate magic, Leynth’s powers are highly appreciated to those who know of him, as he can heal deep-seated grief and trauma in ways that not many are able to.
Of course, the trees can be damaged or destroyed by further trauma and fear, or if the dreamer refuses to acknowledge them as they grow. Lyneth knows this, but after seeing so many people look at him with pure joy in their eyes at how much better they feel, he’s willing to share as much of himself as he can to help others.

mister fish......
why did they choose their class(es)? their subclass(es)?
Leynth is a multiclass cleric (life) and bard (glamour)! He initially became a cleric of Deep Shashelas when he left Dorna, to try and find some peace while at sea. After running away from being a cleric he became a salesman, and because he had always been able to play music and wanted to improve his sales pitch, he decided to try being a bard. Turns out he likes the college of glamour a lot, and it helps with his night job!
before they met their party, what was their main goal?
hjHGFHJFD Leynth’s main goal before meeting us was to have a very calm, quiet, and safe life on Vatar, making money selling Hallsyawn (a sleep aid) and enjoying quiet evenings surrounded by kind little forest animals. He wouldn’t have maintained his quiet life even if we didn’t show up but you know!
what is their goal right now?
Leynth’s short-term goal is to nap, followed by ‘help make a choir to put the big. God centipede under the island. to bed forever hopefully??
Long-term, he’s going to need to consider the fact that his house burned down and he... doesn’t have a huge amount of savings. And also he doesn’t want to live on a giant god centipede, so he may need to find a different house.
if they could learn one spell that isn’t available to them at present, which spell would it be?
God. Probably Otil’s Resilient Sphere because then he’d be able to keep himself MEGA safe.
do they follow a higher power? what are their thoughts on divinity?
Yes! Leynth is a cleric of Deep Shashelas, or the only half decent oceanic god. He’s generally terrified of gods (and everything), but he has at least ONE homie looking out for him. Mainly Leynth tries to steer clear of them.
which party member do they relate to the most?
God. Leynth just met us so this is a bit hard but he probably relates to... Xan??? The Most??? Just because Xan saved his life and seems friendly fghjfdk (for the meta, he relates pretty well to John re: fear of One Big Evil Fish and how they’ve handled it... sort of. But John pointed a gun at him when they first met so Leynth is Afraid kfjhgfhdj)
which party member do they understand the least?
HMM Eli! Eli is so gung-ho and wildly out there and also like. Seems to not understand what fear is? Or social cues? Or like. that some things that bother you can’t be overcome? Leynth really isn’t sure about Eli fghjfkdl
what are three songs that suit them?
ooOOO I got some songs right here:
The Weight of Living pt.1 (Bastille)
Iscariot (Walk the Moon)
Beach (Still Parade)
do they care about their appearance? how much effort do they put into presentation?
Leynth takes pretty good care of himself! He likes to do his hair nicely and keep it very clean/healthy, and tries to always dress in very high-quality soft clothes. He has a set of tattoos (that he probably had to be knocked out to get) and likes the way he looks, tbh.
how often do they lie? what situations cause them to be dishonest?
Leynth is the type of person to tell the truth even if he knows it’ll be badly recieved. HOWEVER, if he doesn’t want to say something he’ll avoid saying it (somewhat blatantly) and then just go “ummMMMMmMMMmMM!!!” for a full minute before he squeaks out whatever he didn’t want to say.
I think he’d really only lie if he was trying to go somewhere he didn’t actually have access to, and only if necessary.

Leynth physically finds those that he wants to help because 1. I’m not sure he knows that you can travel far away from your own dreamscape at all, 2. his magic cannot be applied over great distance unless it’s already ‘taken root,’ and 3. he’s terrified of being caught away from a zone where he can escape the dream universe.
For point 1, I think Leynth was a dreamwalker born from non-dreamwalkers, and probably has taught himself all that he knows. He’s met a few other dreamwalker types in his travels, but hasn’t ever thought to ask about the mechanics of the dreamscape. His own ways work well enough for his purpose, though.
Point 2 is important - the further away he is (physically) when he finds a dreamer (in the dreamscape), the softer his voice gets and the longer it takes for his ‘feathers’ to root. If he’s sleeping next to someone, he can help grow his wards into a sturdy plant within a night or two if it’s particularly bad. He finds that singing them to sleep and preparing them food beforehand seems to make the process go faster as well, but that may just occur because they trust him more.
But, for all of his long-term abilities, Leynth has absolutely no defense against any malevolent forces in the dreamscape. He can bluff by making himself look bigger - he has many wings that he can spread - but his only tactic to survive in a fight is to run. He needs to be able to return to his own bubble at a moment’s notice should something go wrong, which it has a few times. Run-ins with shade-induced nightmares which he couldn’t dispel and which could harm him, as well as an extremely terrifying aftershock dreamscape of one of Devi’s previous hosts have made him very skittish if he isn’t within arm’s reach of a safe place. He won’t let it stop him from helping people, but he has to make sure he can physically see them before he enters their dreams.

I need to figure out Leynth’s powers in the dream world, he’s definitely someone who can’t fight dream demons and acts as a search and rescue type but he definitely has magic as well, hmmMM

Leynth’s dream form glows light blues and greens from his clothing and wings, swirling together about his form. His face is always visible and evokes calm, the smile only leaving his eyes when he speaks of serious subjects or in moments of fear. His horns have little swirls of light that loosely connect between the longest prongs, forming a circle - they look like thin, slow-moving solar flare arches, but in blue tones. His hair is a little more buoyant and much longer, almost blending in with a loose robe that he wears.
The most defining feature of his dream form is many, many small pairs of wings that wrap about him. he has a large set on his back that he usually keeps close, and 8 other wings along his back that fit underneath them (they’re really small). The feathers on his main wings trail behind him when he walks, along with the hem of his robe. When threatened, or when trying to draw someone’s attention, he can open all of his wings and spread his arms, and make the light surrounding him glow much brighter for a few moments. Leynth will often walk alongside a dreamer, but if he needs to move quickly he can glide through the dreamscape as well.
Basically the best description for him is a mix of some many-winged angleic-looking thing and the mother nature figure from Fantasia.

god I just thought about this but Leynth himself wouldn’t dab, you couldn’t get him to do that
but he’d definitely grab someone else’s arms and make them dab if they weren’t paying attention

Please talk about the sleepy boy.....
Just finished my reading for tonight and I’m a little frazzled but I’ll give some random facts about Leynth!!
Leynth carries chamomile on him as often as he can, and likes to make tea out of it for himself and his patients.
He can’t really wear stiff or rough clothing, they irritate his skin - loose-knit sweaters and soft furs/the like are the bulk of his clothing, and most are very soft pastel blues and grays.
His scarf was a gift from a longneck tribe where he stayed for an extended period of time to help purge nightmares from the clan members. They were a group of peaceful traders who had suffered an illness recently and had lost many family members, and Leynth helped them to move on without expecting payment.
The bow he has on him in his dragon form stays that size and acts as a loose robe when he needs it! He’s got a pouch for human clothes he carries, but that strip can function as a bathrobe or sleeping clothes if he needs it.
uhhh Leynth’s favorite food is!! both strawberries, white fish, and mint sweets!!
That’s all I can think of for now, thank you for asking about him ;v;

U should talk abt sleepy boy or small daughter
I already talked about Nadina a bit today but I’ll give some random headcanons here uwuNadina loves small animals a lot, and has taught her Goldthroated Sparrow how to carry letters over short distances. It may not be able to fly very far, but she uses it to send little lines of code to Sgositova as they sail from her position in the masts (usually they’re puns, and are sometimes pretty bad ones Dina also!! Inherited hat hair!! Her hair is absolutely wild and sticks up all over in the wing - it’s very healthy and likes to keep its form, which means it’s pretty fun to sculpt but not at all nice to brush;;Leynth is a wonderful baker! He took it up in his past time, and loves to make soft breads and little pastries when he can. He doesn’t get much of a chance to indulge in it when he’s travelling, but if he ever stops somewhere with a baking oven, he offers to make food for his client/host for the whole time he stays. He usually is allowed to, since his smile is so sincere uwuLeynth also has very soft hair, and smells nice - sort of like a hearth, with a little chamomile scent that somehow seems to always be there. He actually keeps a little pouch of it with him, to help others (and himself) get to sleep when needed

Leynth is someone that would give forehead kisses to anyone that was stressed out tbh, he'd have really gentle and soft lips and it'd be a kind sort of affection that he'd give freely to anyone that seemed stressed out. I mean of course he'd do that with a S.O. as well but that's a given, he'd love gentle kisses a whole lot.

Leynth probably found his cat in late fall one time. He was walking around late, probably humming a tune bundled up, and he ran into someone who was having a hard time sleeping. Going back with them to their house and thanking them for their hospitality, he surely offered his services and heard a mewling from somewhere in the house. He found the family cat with a new litter of kittens just weaned, and was prpbably immediately enamored. He's got a face that, when it lights up, it's hard to resist - the owner probably asked if he'd like one, since they weren't planning on keeping them anyways. Leynth probably was quietly stunned at the offer and accepted the kitten, a little grey fluff that batted at his scarf, as long as he could pay the person back somehow. He ended up making dinner and singing them a lullabye, then left the next day with his little companion.

Leynth has a voice that I'm attributing to Bob Ross levels of softness he's very kind and speaks well, if kind of slow - he's really relaxed (sleepy) with everything he does, so his brain can keep up with his speaking really well. He'd have a super appeasing laugh that would possibly make people blush the first time they heard it because it's cute as frick
