is it bad to overthink meta implications of serious lore stuff to a franchise that never takes itself too seriously?

#to no one's surprise this is about nmh #shallow rambles #sometimes i fear that i'm like. becoming 'that' kind of fan that like. you know waters down characters to like one thing/personality trait #etc. but also... i don't know anyone who has taken the time to think about the wider implications of events #character choices; changes to their world + environment etc. in nmh aside from like. a few abandoned/inactive blogs #thats not even mentioning the unanswered backstory stuff of many characters. which on one hand is great! lots of room #for interpretations! but also the vagueness does leave you hanging a lot longer than you'd like it to. #obviously some of this lore does seem to be carried on from previous games that are non-nmh related so really what could be #considered 'canon' or even 'plausible' is really left up in the air. #<- midori midorikawa is the daughter of the villain from shadows of the damned. but shadows of the damned is a fictional video game #in the world of nmh. but midori shows up in nmh3 as an actual boss..... yeah i try not to over think *too much* because of #things like this in the series #idk man i have vague ideas about shinobu's + henry's upbringing but also it's like the vagueness is what makes them interesting!! #ugh the duality of nmh!! up to interpretation!! but the vagueness!!! ARGH!!! kinda annoying!!
