a request.
for @dalseungyeon
There was a rumor floating around that he had heard. Perhaps it was none of his business, but he couldn’t help but to be interested in it. He knew from his childhood and from his father’s stories that upperclass women or samurai wives were often skilled with knives and swords, but he hadn’t really heard of a woman here having any skill as far as swordplay was concerned.
He couldn’t help in that case but to approach the subject of the rumor, a young lady known as Bae Seungyeon. It wasn’t often that he was able to approach daughters of other families for personal reasons, but even a had his ways. Or more like, he knew where to find her in particular. Maybe he thought that he was excused from some customs due to his foreign title. However he had done it, he had managed to find her alone.
“Little birds told me a secret,” he began quietly, “about you. It’s not really proper for a lady to be practicing the sword, is it?”
His voice trailed off as he approached her, and he extended his hand out, a sheathed blade in it for her to take. His eyes narrowed slightly in curiosity as he studied her face as he spoke. It was hard to discern from Kiyomitsu’s voice if he was being threatening or not, his voice actually lacking any sort of strong emotion. His father had been helping him to work on that.
“Part of me doesn’t even believe them. So, go on. Show me. Can you dance with a sword?”

“ i don’t care if it’s tradition -”
open ✉ ❝ seollal prompts ❞
traditions are something ingrained within him, taught into him since he was a child. even now, as he recites the analects of confucianism and poetry of the olden arts, traditions are something that hui deeply appreciated. a look of confusion masked his soft feature, brows arching in a questioning manner.
❝ but, traditions are traditions for a reason, ❞ he tried, lips pursed together. it was simply something he could not understand fully; even at his academy, there were always someone who liked to break out of the traditions. his father would have called them misfits - though on a personal note, hui thought that was a tad too much.
❝ is there a reason you don’t like this? ❞

starter for: @dalseungyeon
Deokhye smiled gently as she bowed, greeting everyone she came across on her way to the courses,  finding reassurance in going back to the routine she had previous the red wedding and truthfully, the young woman enjoyed such lessons of embroidery, tea ceremony, and flower arranging, though the lessons in manners were a little more strict, Deokhye still was greateful for them especially since she had no trouble nor ill fated relationship between her and the one teaching them.
The day was beautiful and the warmness of the sun was making it’s way through the cold winter clouds and the youngest Choi was taking her time admiring it, making sure to keep it in her mind to make a painting out of it for her home. It was only a couple of seconds though, before making her way to the courses not wanting to be late.
After she arrived, she greeted the person in charge of their lessons with a bow and the proper etiquette she had been sure to teach them during the previous sesions, though Deokhye had mastered that art long before thanks to her mother. “Oh Lady Bae” She smiled as she approached her,  “Good day, my Lady” Deokhye greeted politely bowing to her. “Is my Lady excited for today’s lesson?” She asked while looking at the flowers and the vases beautifully painted for they use.
