Nex Benedict was a 16 year old non-binary and two spirit child of the Choctaw Nation. Nex was a straight-A student at Owasso High School in Oklahoma. They had a beautiful cat named Zeus. They loved cooking and being in nature. They loved comics like The Walking Dead and playing Minecraft. Nex was out for just 28 days as non-binary to their peers before their passing.

Jamie as a person will give the cold shoulder to anyone who isn’t interested in hiring him for a job. Whatever that “job” may be usually involves stealing, hitman/grunt work, blood running/smuggling (never living blood dolls only blood bags and the like), or even just sending a “friendly” message for someone.

When he isn’t doing freelance work he’s usually on the run from something or someone with his adoptive Mawla figure Keaton (Ravnos) and his newfound friend from Toledo Magpie (Nosferatu). These three and some other unknown Kindred make up a freelance criminal network known as “The Corvidaes”. Perhaps you may have heard the tale of Corvids who preform daring deeds for the right prices. Such as a Jackdaw who was “quite aggressive and bothersome to the local Tremere”, “The Magpie that stole a valuable shiny”, “A Raven swooped by as soon as it vanished” or other such tales. These are the verbal calling cards of the gang.

Underneath all that cold hard skin, Jamie’s true personality shines to those he feels he can let his guard down with. His cynicism becomes witty banter with a friend, his threats become a loving jab, and his defense stance melts away to become warm.

What do they run from? Now that’s at least three pages long of enemies-but lets keep it focused on Jackdaw. Jamie is on the run from his previous Sabbat Pack (who he unfortunately encountered in New Orleans), assassins, and whoever else wants him or his Mawla dead. He’d bet $5 your sire either wants or knows someone who wants his gang dead.

Extras: His animal form is that of a grey wolf with German Shepard like colors mixed in. His preferred feral weapons are wolfs claws and he’s got K9 fangs. Before he died he served in the US Army as a combat medic. He was then Embraced by his Sabbat Sire to be a tool, only for the aforementioned Ravnos to literally steal him away from the Pack and rehabilitate his puppy ass. 1) Hange Zoe + Levi Ackerman -- Attack on Titan. (They're a unit to me, okay?) Hange is an energetic ruthless clever jovial skilled enby who has captured my whole heart. Levi is crude and harsh and strong, someone who needs and deserves love AND HE WILL GET IT.

3) Renne Bright -- The Legend of Heroes series. My beloved Angel of Slaughter. What you've been through. How you've fallen. How you've gotten back up. You're loved for who you are, not what you could have been, and that's one of the most precious things I've ever seen.

4) Lloyd Bannings -- The Legend of Heroes series. I don't know where to start with this guy. I love him. I know I'm cheating by not choosing a different fandom here (even though he was introduced in a different game from Renne), but he is MY BOY. He sees the good in people and ensures that his actions are driven by evidence and truly cares about those around him. Part of my inspiration for OC Shion Miller tbh.

5) Toothless -- How to Train Your Dragon. Flying black cat who breathes fire. 'nuf said. :D

6) Mara Jade -- Star Wars. Female Force-using badass with a lightsaber and a dark background and red hair and falls for Luke and and and AUGH. She is why I fell for the Expanded Universe. She is why I fell out of love with Star Wars when Disney made those novels not canon. I still love Star Wars. I just can't engage the same way I used to.

7) Qifrey -- Witch Hat Atelier. I'm not even four volumes into this breathtakingly-drawn manga but this man provides one of THE best examples of a mentor-mentee relationship that I've ever seen in fiction. He sees his apprentices as individual, unique humans each with different strengths and different needs. And he teaches them magic in line with those strengths and those needs. While acknowledging that they're human and don't need to be perfect. He's the kind of mentor I want to be to my students.

8) Saeki Sayaka -- Bloom Into You. Oh girl. You deserve the world. And yet you fell for a girl who would ultimately fall for someone else. Despite all the things you did for her. It's fine. You're fine. You'll be okay. You'll find someone new. Who will love you and challenge you and and and I JUST LOVE HER ARC OKAY?

9) Anora Mac Tir -- Dragon Age. Queen. I love Loghain and she loves Loghain and SHE STANDS UP TO HIM. Yet her behavior UNDERSTANDABLY changes depending on whether the Warden spares her father. She deserves the world and more.

10) Ashley Williams + Kaidan Alenko -- Mass Effect. The one-or-the-other Virmire survivors (someday I may install the mod that enables both to live. SOMEDAY). I've romanced them with different Shepards. I've had those Shepards rekindle their relationships post-Horizon or never try. They're amazing wonderful nuanced characters who deserve more love.

Honorary mention: Lae'zel, Shadowheart, and Karlach from Baldur's Gate 3. I'm still in Act 2. There's so much I still don't know about these women. But I love them and I will defend them until I'm out of breath. And someday I will get to know Minthara and fall hard for her too.

Shepard doesn’t like the new Normandy, the SR2. It is… too much.

Too shiney. Too big. Too bright. Too many people they don’t know. Too many they don’t trust.

They usually hang out at the medical bay, chatting with Dr. Chakwas and a good bottle of brandy. The doctor gets into the habbit of readying the sleeping pills and dimming the lights as soon as Shepard approaches.

Another refuge is the main battery. The red lights are soothing, as is Garrus’ presence, and voice. They crack jokes, old and new. They sit. In company, and silence. Listening to the the humming of the engine. Two years gone, and both are just as cracked as their jokes, but with him it’s not as bad.

The Starboard Cargo is another place Triin is often seen in. They like Zaeed’s stories. The old man has seen a lot. Doesn’t need much words. There’s comfort in his brashness.

There’s also comfort in the garbage compactor. It’s so wonderfully easy, and predictable.

Press the button, and a neatly compressed cube appears. Press the other button and that cube gets blown into space on a neverending journey.

Like a magic trick.

Maybe someone will come and pick up the cube. Salvage it. Like they were... salvaged...

Maybe it’ll be rebuild, and used for something else.

idk if it counts as an Unpopular Opinion tm but something that enrages me to no end is the explicit gendering of supposed reader-insert fanfics (this applies to p much any fandom but for undertale in Particular) and also the gendering of frisk & chara? like y’all they’re explicitly referred to with they/them pronouns, that does not mean that you get to ‘decide’ what they are. & with insert fanfics the reader-character is Literally Always a lady & like! what about the rest of us who are Not That!

I will tread carefully around this topic, because as much as I am an ally and love my enby friends and followers, I am still a dumb human and may word stuff the wrong way. (Call me out and educate me if that happens)

First thing: the gendering of reader-insert fanfics.

 I totally support people writing reader-inserts with the pronouns they feel comfortable with. It’s their fantasy and we’re just in for the ride and we should feel happy to have this content. The majority of people writing fics are ladies (ALL THE LADIES) and want their faves to love them, and there’s nothing wrong with that. There are less enby fic writers and even fewer gentlemen fic writers, thus there’s less content focused on reader-inserts like this. A shame indeed.

BUT I dislike it when people pick and choose the gender of a reader-insert MC when the author has stated the character is an enby. Some fics (like mine, for instance) are open to interpretation and any gender goes (no gender too, fuck it, it’s for y’all to have fun). But some are clearly written by and for people who want that sliver representation. It irritates me to see that, so I get what you mean.

(Maybe giving more support to fanfiction and content with less popular MC representations would help us fill the voids in our hearts that yearn for those? I’d love to see more enby-only reader-inserts, too)

Second thing: the gendering of the KFC gang

To me, Frisk was a girl. And before you grab your pitchforks, hear me out.

I played Undertale. Me. I was the character. It was me. I had an adventure in the game. ME. And I am a lady. I got emotionally involved in the story and felt immersed because the little yellow kid with brown hair that I controlled was ME during the gameplay. Sounds selfish? Probably. But I thought I was allowed to do that because the kid in the game had no gender attached. I didn’t know they’re named Frisk before the very end of the whole thing. I thought “Oh, cool! The game is written the way the kid’s gender isn’t hinted in any way, so everybody can insert themselves and have an emotional journey!”

I thought it was me. That the name I picked was for the kiddo on the screen.

Maybe I was too used to picking the character’s gender because I play a lot of RPGs where it’s possible to do so. Maybe I was too eager to decide they’re a girl because apart from those few RPGs, most main characters in the games I play are guys and I wanted my own representation. Who the fuck knows, I’m not gonna unwrap that here.

In short - I got plot-twisted by Toby. Sike, that’s a Frisk, not a you.

A big part of me still feels that everybody is allowed to insert whatever pronouns they feel like inserting into the KFC kiddos because games are supposed to be fun for them.

However, I understand that enbies need representation. They deserve it even, seeing how much content doesn’t give them the representation and isolates them from all the fun and stories.

Both of those approaches can exist at the same time and those gender ‘wars’ around KFC gang are just fucking stupid, sorry not sorry. I use they/them pronouns for the KFC gang out of respect. Because that’s how they’re referred to in the games and because it’s important to a lot of people and also because I am aware that my experience in the game is not universal. It’s not that fucking hard to grasp.
