EPS Recycling Equipment: Solve No Matter How Many Foams You Have
When considering using foam densifiers or foam compactors, one of the problems that many people encounter is how much waste they have. Foam packaging blocks and colored foam panels are very light and can be very bulky. With these materials, things seem huge in quantity.
Typical EPS foam packaging and insulation materials are usually in the density range of 1 to 2 pounds per cubic foot. This means that if you have a solid foam cube that is 12 inches x 12 inches x 12 inches, its weight will be between 1 and 2 pounds.
Since most packaging foam is not used as a solid block but is molded into a relatively thin design to protect the product, it may take several cubic feet of polystyrene or polyethylene packaging foam to equal one pound of foam. Never mind. EPS foam densifier easily helps you solve and control the number of EPS waste every week or month.
Table of Contents A guide to estimating the actual number of EPS or EPE Not all foam waste is the same How EPS foam recycling machine can make your business more profitable A guide to estimating the actual number of EPS or EPE
To give you a better idea of how much packaging foam you might have, here are some guidelines for estimating the weight of uncompressed EPS or EPE foam pieces (excluding stacked foam boards and slab foam).
A 53-foot trailer load will weigh 1500 to 2000 pounds. A 20-yard roll-off bin containing only EPS foam will hold 200 to 300 pounds of EPS. An 8-foot-tall 12-foot-square foam-wrapped mound weighs approximately 100 to 150 pounds. Not all foam waste is the same
If you have been using foam packaging for a while, you will know that there are all kinds of foam packaging. If you are not familiar with packaging foam, remember that all of these are different. Therefore, choose different Polystyrene recycling machine.
Polystyrene foam is a registered trademark of the Dow Chemical Extruded Polystyrene Foam (XPS) brand. It often appears in the form of blue polystyrene foam boards. Expandable polystyrene (EPS) is a bead-like foam that can be formed into shapes, blocks, and sheets.
It is usually white, but it can be dyed in any color. It also consists of approximately 95% air. EPS is often but incorrectly referred to as polystyrene foam. But it is versatile and has been used in the packaging, insulation, and construction industries for decades.
How EPS foam recycling machine can make your business more profitable
Like most recyclable materials, expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam recycling has proven to be very valuable. Realize value by reducing the costs associated with the waste removal process. Many companies hope to gain an advantage through waste expenditure. These companies know that they can directly increase profitability by minimizing waste costs.
Two costs need to be drastically reduced to truly provide value for the company to benefit from the effort of recycling program. Labor costs and energy use may be the two main costs of the EPS recycling program or any related recycling programs. The initial cost of the Polystyrene recycling equipment is often a small part of the foam recovery program.
Purchasing recycling equipment with low energy consumption without compromising performance and using appropriately sized equipment to minimize labor can help simplify the annual costs associated with waste removal. When labor and energy costs decrease, most tasks become more cost-effective.
Minimizing labor costs is crucial because they will greatly affect the bottom line. The use of styrofoam recycling machinery, especially EPS densifier and EPS compactor can reduce running time can save a lot of costs. If you offer part-time work instead of full-time work, consider the amount of savings from the benefit plan and other expenses incurred by hiring additional labor.
If your operation runs the equipment 10 hours a week instead of 40 hours, consider how much you will save each year. This may mean that employees have a few hours a week to use larger machine, such as EPS densifier, instead of hiring additional workers. No matter how we look at it, the initial equipment cost will help reduce the need for additional operating time and working time.
Efficient energy consumption is a prerequisite for EPS recycling equipment. High energy costs will significantly reduce any profits from EPS foam recovery. Choose the right foam densifiers or foam compactors which can help reduce waste quickly, economically, and safely.

The plunger diameter has various specifications such as ф12-ф14, which can be used for a variety of foaming units, such as foaming net, foaming cloth, foaming sheet, etc.
EPE foam net machines can be customized according to customers’ requirements.
EPE Foam Extrusion Line
In the production process of EPE foam or expanded polyethylene faom packaging materials, physical foaming is used instead of chemical foaming. Currently, the most common foaming is using butane gas foaming. The principle of foaming is to use butane gas to be liquid in the jar, and then to gasify instantaneously when extruding from the foaming head. Because the foaming of EPE resin is the result of the physical foaming agent changing from liquid to gas, The second , foaming agent is required to be colorless, odorless, non-toxic, non-corrosive, no residue is left in the polymer after foaming, low permeability in the polyethylene melt, low vapor pressure at room temperature, high volatility, molecular weight Low density and high density. The gas cost per unit volume is low. It can be dissolved in polyethylene in the extruded state. When the temperature and pressure are increased, the amount of solubility will increase. It is easy to make the plastic foam molded into a foam with low density.

Why Custom Plastic Cutting
There are multiple reasons to use Perspex cut to size or any other plastic cut to custom dimensions by Plastic Online Australia:
·        Less error
Humans make mistakes, no matter how skilled and experienced they are. In today’s manufacturing environment, human error is a major concern. The competition is high and the demands of customers are even higher; even the smallest mistake can damage the reputation of a company. This is why Plastic Online uses laser cutting machines to obtain cut to size plastic materials.
These automatised machines are provided instructions by a computer and they do their job seamlessly, ensuring a degree of consistency that is not possible with human hands. Every product will be identical with the one preceding it, every single time.
·        Precise results
Laser cutting has high accuracy and can be used for the production of parts with complex internal and external contours and different shapes.
·        Customers will get the product faster
The method you choose for cutting your materials will have a major impact on the quality of the finished product and on the time needed to manufacture it. By using materials such as Perspex cut to size near, your customers will get their products sooner as Plastic Online takes care of the cutting using the latest technologies and you can focus on other important aspects of manufacturing.
Having to perform intricate design work by hand takes a lot of time, especially on complex projects. Laser cutting, on the other hand, makes it possible to obtain precise cuts in a short time-frame. The speed of laser processing is multiple times higher than by traditional methods, ensuring the readiness of products in the shortest possible time.
·        Keeping things clean
Most forms of mechanical cutting generate heat and can have unwanted effects on the finished product, such as surface scuffing or minor warping. This can make lines appear inaccurate or low quality. With laser cutting performed by Plastic Online, warping is reduced to a minimum as only a small area is affected by heat. Material contamination risk is reduced as well during the cutting due to the lack of contact with physical cutting tools.
How Perspex cut to size near is obtained
Acrylic or Perspex is perfect for laser processing, a process making it possible to obtain the most creative point of sale displays and illuminated advertisements.
No additional processing is required and panels up to 25 mm can be cut efficiently and cost-effectively. The CO2 laser creates matted finishes, while the fibre laser is used to create colour changes.
A CAD file is required in order to cut a particular design from acrylic material. The process is carried out by a machine that emits laser that cuts through the material by burning or vaporizing it. This way, edges are round, surfaces are smooth, and more nuanced designs can be created.
Laser cutting needs to be performed in controlled environments by trained staff as it generates extremely high temperatures. The heat causes the material to produce fumes that can be dangerous to health. Protective gear (mask and goggles) is recommended to prevent inhaling toxic fumes.
Even if nowadays there are multiple solutions to cut acrylic, there are multiple factors involved in the cutting process, such as the brand and type of acrylic to cut, choosing the right acrylic cutting machine, setting up a working table, preparing the acrylic sheet, setting up the laser cutting acrylic machine, and handling the actual process to obtain precise and smooth cuts.
Getting your acrylic or other plastic material cut to size from Plastic Online is the most effective and productive option.  You can order and purchase all your plastic material needs right here online 24/7/365. Once you’ve placed your order, our team will cut to size the type of plastic material you need and ship it to you from our Gold Coast locations to anywhere in Australia. Recycling  waste styrofoam -reducing the cost of our living environment
Styrofoam has a service life of 24 hours, but it can last for 500 years. Can you imagine that landfills have a higher rate of consumption than we use styrofoam?
Tumblr media
When talking about the disposable packaging materials that have been widely used all over the world, Duncan said: "We need to stop and think about the environmental costs of our current lifestyle." The styrofoam packaging box has been widely recognized. Widespread use is beyond our imagination in this field. Therefore, how to use styrofoam materials reasonably and how to do a good job of recycling waste styrofoam products are issues that we have to consider at present.
As we all know, many states in the United States have tried to ban the use of styrofoam food packaging, but they all ended in failure. It is conceivable that styrofoam products are widely used and supported by the public. Therefore, we must urgently recycle a large amount of this foam material to ensure the convenience of using the material in a safe and orderly manner.
Tumblr media
The most common product of styrofoam in life is mainly packaging materials, household appliances packaging, express packaging, foam food containers, fish boxes, etc.
styrofoam is also widely used in insulation and mold industries. European insulation board is a common polystyrene XPS material. At the same time, polystyrene can also be used in mold making due to its good plasticity.
Tumblr media
Fortunately, Foam can be recycled. A set of foam densifiers can easily solve this problem. Foam densifier is mainly used for Styrofoam/EPS (Expanded Polystyrene), PE foam (Expandable Polyethylene), XPS (Extruded Polystyrene), EPP (Expanded Polypropylene), etc. After recycling, the foam would be cleaned and then thrown into a foam densifier, an onsite machine would cut it into small pieces, heat it, and densify it.

Environmental Protection through Foam Recycling by Using Foam Densifier
The Arctic is warming faster than anywhere on earth. In the 1980s, open waters account for only 1% of the sea ice in the central Arctic Ocean. Now it is 22%. Polar bears need sea ice to hunt, and the reduction in sea ice is statistically related to the weight loss of polar bears. However, data shows the total number of bears has increased from about 12,000 to 25,000. Why? Environmental protection. When it comes to environmental protection, I must talk about foam recycling, a way that can be achieved by using foam densifiers.
With the progress of society, people’s living standards are improving. we feel that life is becoming more and more convenient after we have plastic bags and foam disposable packaging in our daily lives. While bringing us convenience, it also causes pollution to our environment. This damage to the environment is particularly serious. What harm does foam do to the environment? Let us take a look together below.
The main harms caused by foam packaging are “visual pollution” and “potential harms”. The waste foam packaging discarded in cities, tourist areas, seas, and roads brings bad irritation to people’s vision, affects the overall beauty of cities, destroys the appearance of the city and the landscape, and causes “visual pollution”. In addition, foams can cause many other “potential harms”. If the waste foam packaging is thrown into the environment, it is difficult to degrade, causing long-term and deep-level ecological and environmental problems.
First of all, waste foam packaging is mixed in the soil. It will affect the absorption of nutrients and water, which will cause crop yields reduction. second, if waste foam packaging discarded in land or water bodies is swallowed by animals, it will cause animal deaths. This kind of situation is common in zoos, pastoral areas, and the ocean
Last but not least, it is never completely biodegradable because it is resistant to photolysis, and light will cause the material to decompose. At present, the main problem that people fully aware of is "visual pollution", but most people still lack the awareness of the long-term and deep level “potential harm” of waste foam packaging.
However, during the epidemic, although other industries are affected, the foam packaging industry is on the contrary. Due to the increase in express delivery and takeaway, the volume of foam waste has increased, and foam recycling is especially important. Unfortunately, there are practical obstacles to foam recycling.
Density and pollution. The air content of polystyrene foam is 95%, so storage or transportation is not cost-effective. In addition, it is often contaminated with food or beverages and is difficult to clean. Fortunately, the problem of the low density of this material can be solved. It means a large piece of equipment called EPS foam densifier must be used to reduce the volume of EPS.
EPS needs to be processed before shipping. The process can significantly reduce transportation costs and make recycling cost-effective. There are two popular methods to make this material dense, either by heating or pressing. Each method enables cost-effective transportation. In addition, EPS is a by-product of petroleum.
When the price of oil is high, the value of this material increases. When the price of oil falls, the price of this material will also fall. Therefore, if large distribution facilities, furniture warehouses, or foam packaging plants produce large amounts of EPS, it may be cost-effective. Now that the processed EPS has been compacted, it has value and can be purchased by recyclers because it can be easily and efficiently processed and transported.
If you do not know how to choose a foam densifier, I would like to introduce a simple operation but high-efficiency machine. It is the GreenMax foam densifier MARS series. They use high-volume extrusion technology to reduce the amount of foam waste. Throw the waste foam packaging into the hopper of the machine, crush it into small pieces, and then fall into the screw part, where the crushed foam block is pushed out, and then melted by the heating part.
Eventually, it will become a hot melt ingot with a density of 90:1, which is easy to store and reuse in new products. It is mainly used for Styrofoam/EPS (Expanded Polystyrene), PE foam (Expandable Polyethylene), XPS (Extruded Polystyrene), EPP (Expanded Polypropylene).
Not only large enterprises, large manufacturers, distributors, and warehouses can all benefit from densifiers, but small businesses can also benefit. Retailers, malls, and shopping centers of all sizes, schools, apartment buildings, etc. are all considering using EPS densifiers to take advantage of the benefits of foam recycling. Climate change is a serious threat that we have always ignored. We should take it seriously.

The Toughest Plastics in Construction!
Did you know that the construction sector is the second highest user of plastic after packaging? You don’t really to expect to find plastic in your home or in the building where you work. Yet various types of plastics are being used in the construction industry, from PVC for pipes and conduit, to flute board for waterproofing barriers.
Plastics are used widely in the construction industry due to a range of benefits they provide, such as excellent strength to weight ratio, reduced costs, low maintenance, and corrosion resistance among others. The main areas of application for plastics are piping, cladding and profiles, insulation, seals and gaskets, and base for adhesives and sealants.
In the last years, recycled plastic materials have started to represent an increasing percentage of overall production of plastic for construction, helping to solve the global problem of the disposal of plastics.
Plastic Materials Used in Construction
A large variety of plastics are used in construction, with the most popular being the following:
Flute Board
Flute board, also known as fluted polypropylene. This product is a hollowed fluted plastic board made from polypropylene. One of its versions is print grade flute board, which is specifically developed to meet the needs of print and signage companies for various digital printing and laminating processes. Packing grade flute board, on the other hand, is used for surface protection, packaging, and concrete forming.
Advantages of flute board include:
-          Fully recyclable;
-          Lightweight material;
-          Resistant to water, chemicals, and impact;
-          Low price and durability;
-          Easy to print on;
-          Having improved UV resistance which makes it suitable for outdoor applications.
Flute board is used as floor protection on building sites, for reinforcing and insulating layers, for knockdown boxes, and for point-of-sale displays.
Corrugated Flute Board
Corrugated flute board is actually called twin wall polypropylene sheeting. This type of material can be cut to size to obtain products that are both strong and durable.
Main benefits of corrugated flute board are:
-          Non-toxic;
-          High impact resistant;
-          Hygienic;
-          Water resistant;
-          Chemical resistant;
-          Weatherproof;
-          100% recyclable.
Typical applications for corrugated flute board include: signage, display stands, packaging, surfaces, and protection.
Acrylic Cut-to-Size
Acrylic sheet cut-to-size represents a large part of the market share in the construction industry. Acrylic is known under various different brand names and is found in multiple forms, such as clear Perspex sheet cut to size. It is a versatile, transparent thermoplastic, with excellent optical properties and resilience to impact and scratch. Unlike glass, it conducts light better and shatters into large, dull parts in case of large impact.
Properties that make acrylic sheet cut to size the perfect option for applications such as roofing and greenhouse construction are:
-          Flexibility and elongation;
-          Carbonation resistance;
-          Environmental friendliness;
-          Stability to ultraviolet radiation;
-          Excellent adhesion.
Composites
A composite material is a one which is composed of two or more different materials. Joining these materials together produces a unique finished product that boasts different material properties to those that each material began with.
Advantages of plastic composite materials such as Kevlar, PVC polyester, FRP (fibre-reinforced polymer) and other such materials are:
-          Improved resistance and durability;
-          Can be made fire resistant;
-          Low maintenance;
-          Lightweight composition;
-          Availability in different colours, textures, and shapes.
One of the latest trends in the construction sector is represented by biocomposites, an important part of the green building movement. They enable the construction of green buildings, which are environmentally friendly, healthy to live and work in, and economically viable.
Polycarbonate
Polycarbonate or PC is an amorphous thermoplastic which is naturally transparent. Main reasons why polycarbonate is being used in construction include:
-          Flexibility
PC can be formed into multiple shapes and structures.
-          Withstanding shock and fracture
Polycarbonate sheets have a higher impact resistance compared to glass. This makes PC easier to transport and install. It does not become brittle with age, enabling constructors to avoid high maintenance and repair costs.
-          Two times lighter than glass
Polycarbonate lowers construction costs as it weighs less than glass, reducing the size of foundations and structural members.
-          Excellent insulating properties
Polycarbonate is a popular choice for cladding and roofing, with multiwall PC sheets doing even a better job at improving thermal performance as it creates additional air pockets around buildings.
-          Light transmittance
Forget about yellowing and hazed plastic, which happens with GRP. PC sheeting is treated with UV protection to extend its life and reduce glare.
PVC
PVC (abbreviation for polyvinyl chloride) accounts for approximately 20% of all plastic manufactured around the world.
There are two main types of PVC: rigid and flexible. Rigid PVC is intrinsic flame retardant offers good electrical insulation and vapor barrier properties, but becomes brittle at 5°C (when not modified with impact modifiers and/or processing aids). Flexible PVC is easier to process than rigid PVC and has good resistance to corrosive inorganic chemicals. Disadvantages include that it tends to degrade at high temperatures and its properties can change in time because of plasticiser migration.
PVC applications include: window and door profiles, pipes, fittings, wiring and cables, internal and external cladding, ducting, flooring, roofing membranes, and wall coverings.
Polypropylene
Polypropylene is a synthetic textile material originally developed by the American corporation Phillips Petroleum in 1951.
Its properties include:
-          Chemically inert;
-          Mould resistant;
-          Heat resistant;
-          Accepting colour and dye without degrading;
-          Inexpensive;
-          Does not contain bisphenol A.
This material is used in a variety of plastic building materials products that need to withstand heat, fatigue, and shatter, such as carpeting, piping systems, electrical cable insulation, and plastic machine parts.
Polyethylene
Polyethylene is most commonly used in packaging due to properties such as:
-          High ductility;
-          Low friction;
-          Good electrical insulator.
Its two main disadvantages, however, are being no-biodegradable and having a low melting point (around 80 °C).
Common applications of polyethylene in construction include:
-          Protection for materials and sealants;
-          Damp-proof membranes;
-          Lining material for foundations;
-          Concrete protection during the curing process;
-          Temporary flashing material for door and windows.
Expanded Polystyrene
Expanded polystyrene or ESP foam is a lightweight, closed cell insulation providing the following benefits:
-          Resistance to heat flow;
-          Energy efficiency;
-          Strength;
-          Sustainability;
-          Hygienic as it does not encourage the growth of bacteria;
-          Low cost;
-          Being environmentally friendly as it has always been CFC- and HCFC-free.
In the construction industry, expanded polystyrene is mainly used for exterior insulation and finish due to its high energy efficiency. It is also a part of structural insulated panels that can be used to build exterior walls, roofs, ceilings, and floors.
ETFE
ETFE stands for ethylenetetrafluoroethylene and consists of the modified copolymers of ethylene and tetrafluroethylene. It has the appearance of a flexible film, which makes it suitable for curved transparent facades.
Properties of ETFE include:
-          Nor degrading under UV light;
-          Resistant to weather and pollution;
-          Being self-cleaning;
-          East to repair by fixing tears with welding replacement patches;
-          100% recyclable;
-          Its manufacturing process does not require the use of solvents.
Typical uses of ETFE include: covering electrical wiring in conditions of high stress, for wall coverings, being installed as a thermoplastic liner in pipes for corrosion and heat protection, and solar panel applications.
How the Construction Industry Benefits from the Use of Plastics
Plastics have gained a prominent role in constructions near to metal, glass, masonry, and wood due to their immense benefits:
-          Durability
Some plastics can be stronger than certain materials, including metals.
-          Low Cost
