Tonight I played Janet in The Rocky Horror Picture Show for the first time. It was a great experience and I had fun! I want to thank every single person who was involved. From Tech to cast, our producers and directors, and the audience for coming and having fun with us!

Now back to the Unintentional Fashion Blog!

As is customary with performers, I wore many outfits on this night, so strap in and gear up for a ride. It’s going to be a long post!

I’d like to start off by thanking the Heathers... and Veronica! Our pre-show went pretty well! I had never seen Heathers until these ladies introduced me to it. And yeah, I loved it. And then there was a musical! Even better! We performed a pre-show to one of the songs from that musical. And for this performance I’m wearing this yellow XOXO Blazer and this Almost Famous white button-up shirt that I found on clearance at Macy’s. The skirt is from Wet Seal and I have actually owned it since I was in Middle School. It is very short, which worked for this performance, but not for much else. Underneath that I am wearing my black Converse that I have had for years and these pale yellow knee high socks that I found at the 99 cent store!

Next outfit! Okay. This is where it starts to get a little tricky. Since these are costumes… and for the most part, I made them… Badly…

The next outfit is the Damn it, Janet outfit. This outfit consists of a purple Chadwick’s Blazer and a purple Patrick Petite dress and I found at the thrift store. I am also wearing grey pearls, these black Xhilaration heels that I have had forever and this white hat from the thrift store.

The next outfit consists of a white sweater and pink dress that I found at the thrift store. The pink dress originally was floor length and had buttons all the way down the front of it, but I cut and sewed it to be more screen accurate. I also am wearing these Madden Girl white heels that I found at the thrift store.

And what of the floor show??? Considering the majority of floor show costuming is underwear, it’s hard to know where I got it all from. A mixture of Hot Topic, Macy’s, and wherever else in the mall I could find stuff. But I do know that the corset is Intimate Attitudes brand and is from a boutique called Tease and Please. I bedazzled it myself! And my Fioni black heels!

And of course I am wearing a wig that my mom got for me off of Amazon. And that concludes the costuming for the night!

Ruling: Ok. Get ready,  because this is a lot to follow.

In regards to the first outfit, I love the Blazer and the shirt, so I will be keeping them. And while the skirt worked wonderfully for this performance, I can’t say it would work for much else. It’s just gotten small on me. So I will be getting rid of it. I will list it in a later post.

As for the second outfit, I will be keeping the shoes, Blazer, pearls, and hat, but I didn’t do the greatest job of hemming the dress, so I won’t be keeping it. I won’t be selling it either, because honestly, I don’t think any of you want it.

And for the third outfit, I will be keeping everything! But probably in a box… in a closet… only for emergencies in costuming. Except for the shoes. I will keep those in my closet. I like them.

And the floor show! I’m keeping all of this. I know it will come in handy for future costumes.
