This is a piece written by Sophie Tranchell, CEO of Divine Chocolate.  We can forget so easily that our big chocolate companies began with kind hearts, with their business objectives at their heart, to alleviate poverty.

The chocolate industry is an example of what industry has the power to do, the power to drive down prices without thought for the impact on the supply chain, right through to the innovative Fairtrade system, where prices are used for the good.

We need to reflect and learn folks - think about your impacts on others as you make your choices.  We do have the opportunities to make changes in our world - the small things like the chocolate bar that you choose may feel like an incidental step to take.  Make a change and someone somewhere, maybe right across the world from you, will feel that change, perhaps from more money in their pockets or better conditions in their office or factory :)
