Please help me get my dad back. Walker County Sheriff's department is illegally holding my dad for a 'crime' they have no evidence of. On May 5th my dad, a Clarke County resident, was picked up by the Walker County Sheriff's dept. The Clarke County jail claims he was never even booked into their jail which means Walker broke protocol. Walker County is basing jurisdiction on the fact he maintains a bank account in Walker even though the account states his home address is In Clarke and he has not lived in Walker for two years. The listed 'crime' is second degree theft but the fact of the matter is my dad runs an engineering and repair service for radio station equipment. A man in Maryland shipped him a transmitter module that he claimed needed repairs all the while quite literaly bragging about the last repair company he had ripped off for repairs. As such my dad told him that it would put him on a payment first basis which the man agreed to. He also agreed to the mechanic's lein that was to be included in case he did not pay within 90 days after the repairs were completed. Once the repairs were completed however and payment was due he refused to pay and threatened to list it as stolen if it was not shipped back for free and the $53 shipping was to be out of my dad's pocket. The man did list it as stolen but Clarke County would not act on the warrant since the module had been shipped to my dad and the repairs had been done. Meanwhile, as all of this was going on someone (one of our admins) on the Walker County Area News page (a Facebook news page) posted a video of Sheriff Underwood (Walker County Sheriff) making contradictory statements about what he did or did not know about how to do his job. The first half was from last election where he said he knew all about how to do his job and the second half was right after the Great Peanut Butter Escape of 2017 (you can really just google that phrase and find it) where he claimed he knew nothing of how the jail was run and it was all up to the duputies on how it operated in a day to day basis. It should be noted that it is now election season again for the next Sheriff. My dad is the known main administrator of the news page given he is a former Walker county resident but there are others. He is also well known as the main operator and engineer for my LPFM radio station WQJJ. On May 1st my younger sister caught two men in our garage in our locked radio room. They had broken into the room, turned off our transmitter (a federal crime), and when she confronted them did not identify themselves as law enforcement of any sort. They were wearing black polo shirts and the only way she knew they were law enforcement was because one of the shirts had a small emblem embroidered onto it. They approached her and immediately started asking questions and asking if they could search the house. They did not produce a warrant despite being asked and deflected any questions such as who they were, what they were there for, and how long they had been in our garage. We contacted dispatch and dispatch said they had sent no one over. The pictures of the unmarked vehicles they arrived in garnered some attention on the news page and people were quick to point out the lights in the grill. Not long after, the Sheriff's department posted our house address on Facebook and claimed we had made the story up and they were looking for our dad and they had a warrant but felt that producing it to my sister might let him know they were looking for him. Of course they dragged in the 'well if you have nothing to hide' tactic that is a blatant manipulation in an attempt to get someone to waive away their Fourth Amendment Right on their own and started asking people to come in and file more warrants on him. 'If you have any complaints against him come on in and file them or post them in the comments.' Despite not being able to produce a warrant because they were 'scared it might tip him off' they were very public about the ongoing 'case' on their page. They arrested him on the 5th when a tip came in from someone that he was a Clarke County resident. They went down to Clarke County late at night and raided the home he was staying in and arrested one of his friends as well for putting up a fight when a bunch of officers came barreling in the door as they were sleeping. They seized all of his electronics and the module in question but somehow all of the 'evidence' (the module is the only real evidence but the electronics too) was left behind in the custody of a Clarke County investigator who has family/friend ties in Walker while my dad was transported up to Walker County and booked into the jail. Since then an investigator has harassed family members in the South end of the state and another investigator has contacted all of our advertisers and advised them to not do business with us. All of our advertisers have fled. None will pay and it has effectively killed our business as we have now been off the air for nearly the entire month of May. We have been sitting without power the entire time because we were unable to pay our bill due to this and for some reason less than two days after our power was cut our account was pennied out and the money needed to pay to get the power back on more than tripled. Dad meanwhile still sits in the jail even though there is no evidence and the Clarke County Sheriff has since relieved the Clarke county investigator of the electronics and equipment that had been seized. The electronics were returned to dad's business partner down in Clarke county but the module remains in custody with the Sheriff down there and the reason the he gives is for 'safe keeping because I know it wasn't stolen.' My dad went to a bail hearing on May the 7th and bail was set at an astounding and upayable $25,000 cash only bond with an ankle monitor should he manage to make bail. Which we have been notified by several bond agencies that it is an incredibly high bond given the charge. I have contacted SBI who at first told me they need to be invited to look into this and then on a separate occasion said that now that he has had a bail hearing they can't touch this even though it is a blatant abuse of the law. Since he is seemingly stuck there until his court date on June 27th we attempted to find him an attorney. I have contacted three who claim to do pro bono work and indeed they sound interested- up until they hear the name of the man they would be trying to free. Immediately after they hear his name they back out. As such we seem to be stuck with the public defender who we have been warned by many will accept the guilty plea for his client without consulting them and whether they are in the court or not. We have also been warned that the judge who will be presiding over this is aware of this and allows it. The public defender has only contacted my dad once despite numerous attempts on behalf his behalf and by dad himself. The one form of contact was a letter sent detailing to him what will happen after he accepts the guilty plea. My dad does not wish to plead guilty given that he did not actually commit a crime. Now I may need to be corrected on this but should his preliminary hearing be on the 7th of June given he has a right to demand a hearing within 30 days of his arrest? Overall aside from breaking and entering, a search and interrogation without a warrant or at least without providing one, leaving jurisdiction, unlawfully arresting a man and detaining him without evidence, setting an excessive seeming bail, breaking federal law by turning off a broadcasting transmitter, harrassing family and friends as well as clients, allowing an attorney to break the law by pleading guilty for his clients without their permission, and probably other laws they have broken. It should be said that dad has a bit of a habit of tipping off the authorities when he sees corruption. That's part of the reason he's in jail now. He'd been vocal about the number of African American and Hispanic arrests versus white in the past as well as the number of hangings (all listed as suicides and we're up to 5 already since January). He also made several pointed comments about where the taxpayers' money is going if the department is still always asking for more to be donated. He's always been vocal about calling this sort of stuff out and has always deemed it his right and his duty as an American citizen. It has never served him well. Quite the opposite really. In fact, one of the comments on the donations site by a 'Linda Smith' is from a former landlord he caught peeking into my sister's window at night. I also feel the need to apologize for the tone of his donations page. He wrote it shortly before being arrested and he was not happy at all about any of this which is understandable. The lawyer he mentions on the page has since then backed away from this entire thing. Everything aside we have managed to find one new lawyer who will touch this who is not the public defender but she requires a $2,500 retainer fee to start on anything and we can't even afford that at the moment. Co-Op Delusions Get Attorney Suspended

The New York Appellate Division for the First Judicial Department found sufficient evidence of an attorney's incapacity to suspend him immediately

By letter dated October 30, 2017, New York County Supreme Court Justice Kathryn E. Freed advised the Committee that based upon respondent's appearance before her in a pending ejection action, she questioned respondent's fitness and capacity to practice law.

According to a verified complaint filed in or about November 2016, respondent's co-op, among other things, sought possession of his apartment and terminated his proprietary lease after having determined respondent's conduct was dangerous and objectionable. After respondent defaulted on the complaint, the co-op moved, by order to show cause (OSC), for a default judgment and an injunction, enjoining him from, among other things, leasing or permitting others from using the apartment, and from harassing, threatening and intimidating building residents and members of the Board of Directors by, inter alia, "bang[ing] on their doors in the middle of the night, verbally assault[ing] them and...intimidat[ing] them with obscene language." Justice Freed signed the OSC which was returnable on February 7, 2017.

On March 21, amended on April 4, 2017, Justice Freed granted the default judgment and injunction, giving the co-op immediate possession of the apartment, directing the Sheriff to evict respondent and any occupants, and appointing a referee to conduct the sale of the apartment.

After the court granted this relief but before execution of the judgment, the Commissioner of Social Services of the City of New York stepped in and moved for the appointment of a guardian ad litem for respondent. Included with that application was an affirmation in support from a psychiatrist employed by New York City's Human Resources Administration's Customized Assistance Services. The psychiatrist reported that on November 21, 2016, he performed an evaluation of respondent at the subject apartment, after Adult Protective Services had referred him for an evaluation in the context of him facing eviction. The psychiatrist wrote that respondent was a securities attorney who worked for corporate clients on a contract basis until February 2016; since then he had been receiving unemployment benefits. Respondent denied having any savings and the psychiatrist found his apartment "spare."

The psychiatrist opined that respondent had "developed a delusion that his co-op has hired people to sabotage him at work and to harass and assault him at home in order to force him out of his apartment"; that he "demonstrates confusion and contradictory thinking that may accompany psychosis"; that he has "no insight into his psychotic disorder"; and that his "insight and judgment [is] impaired." Respondent reported that he has been taken by EMS to Bellevue Hospital several times, always on an involuntary basis, that he was admitted twice, each time for two weeks, and that he had also been observed and released from the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program.

In the psychiatrist's opinion, respondent "cannot represent himself in housing or any other court due to his belief in a paranoid conspiracy and lack of insight . . . . For this reason he requires the appointment of a Guardian ad Litem."

In her letter, Justice Freed explained that although the co-op did not formally oppose the appointment of a guardian, on the return date counsel orally objected and stated that he was aware that respondent was representing others in court. This possibility led Justice Freed "to believe that there is some urgency" to giving the Committee notice.

Here, the Committee has presented sufficient evidence that respondent is incapacitated from continuing to practice law and that his immediate suspension is warranted pursuant to 1240.14 (see Matter of Falls, 121 AD3d 83 [1st Dept 2014] [granting medical suspension based upon, inter alia, letters from treating psychiatrist]; Matter of Serpe, 106 AD3d 112 [1st Dept 2013] [granting medical suspension based upon evidence of severe depression]).

Accordingly, the Committee's motion should be granted, and, pursuant to 22 NYCRR 1240.14, respondent is suspended from the practice of law, effective immediately, and the pending investigation is stayed until further order of this Court.

Haralson County Magistrate Assists Animal Control in Stealing My Dogs

On March 3, 2020 while I was out of town, Haralson County Deputies accompanied a Haralson County Animal Control Officer to my home and presented an order signed by Magistrate Judge Brandon Heath that stated my dogs were to be removed from their (my) home. This was supposedly due to being declared as dangerous/vicious. Along with adult dogs they removed a litter of puppies. Upon return, I went to the Magistrate. While there I was tricked by the judge's clerk until a deputy arrived and arrested me. I was told the charge was "harassing communication" tho I've never seen a warrant. Upon release, I went to the Haralson County Sheriff Dept to obtain the warrant for which I'd been arrested. instead I was arrested AGAIN. This time charged with "STALKING THE COURT". As stipulation of my bond, I can no longer contact Animal Control or Magistrate Court; making it impossible to pursue open records requests I submitted or any other aspects of this matter. During all of this, HCAC Chief Officer, Phillip Carroll, backed to my barn in broad day light and dumped a freshly killed, bloody dog off. I was told it was in err, but can find NO understanding how that is done in err. (Its illegal for ANYONE to put a dead animal on property of another. Including anemployee of Animal Control!) Another employee said my female & entire litter of pups were euthanized. This was a lie. Could that be motivation for taking them? Perhaps. Daniel Camp, ANOTHER employee of HCAC runs an illegitimate rescue out of his home. He "rescued" the litter. (9 x $150-$200). Mr Camp was present the day my dogs were taken. 3 days after taking them (remember, bc they were dangerous/vicious) each( except mother/pups were placed on the HCAC's FB page for adoption. Noted in their ads as being "sweet", "shy", "playful" etc.. None were vicious. None had ever bitten or even alluded to such. They abused their positions/authority and ruined my life. NFLer Derrius Guice Cut From Washington Football Team After Being Arrested On Domestic Violence Charges

NFL running back Derrius Guice has been cut from the Washington Football Team after he was arrested on domestic violence charges. More inside…

NFLer Derrius Guice will not be returning to the filed when the new season starts!

The running back was released from the Washington Football Team (formerly the Washington Redskins) after he was arrested on domestic violence charges.

The 23-year-old turned himself in to police in Leesburg, VA Friday evening, according to reports. He’s facing several charges, including one felony count of strangulation, three counts of assault and battery and one count of destruction of property, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Hours after Derrius turned himself into police, the Washington Football Team released a statement announcing he has been released from the team via Twitter:

The Washington Football Team revealed they first learned about Derrius’ “potential domestic violence related incident” on Thursday and reported the incident to the NFL. He was excused from team activities as the team reviewed the situation.

”This afternoon we learned that there were multiple charges filed against Derrius,” the team said in a statement. “Upon review of the nature of these charges and following internal discussions, we have decided to release Derrius immediately.”

After turning himself in, the former LSU player was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond. He drove away from the police station in a silver Range Rover around 7:30pm Friday.

According to ESPN’s John Keim, the charges stem from three alleged domestic violence incidents that occurred this year on February 14th, March 13th and April 17th.

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Dept the charges against Guice stemmed from 3 separate domestic related incidents earlier this year -- on Feb 14, March 13 and April 17.

According to the Washington Post, the three incidents occurred at Derrius’ Ashburn, VA home. The woman reported the incidents to Maryland’s Montgomery County Police Department, where she lives, on July 22nd. The victim of the alleged domestic violence has not been named.

The former Washington Football Team running back has hired Peter D. Greenspun – who previously defended D.C. sniper John Allen Muhammad. Derrius’ attorney released a statement regarding the charges, saying his client plans to fight the charges against him.

"The failure to fully investigate allegations of events, which allegedly took place months ago, is inexplicable," the statement read. "Derrius will defend these charges in court, where a full vetting of the allegations will take place, in contrast to actions by local law enforcement and the Washington Football Team that assumed the worst, directly contradicting every sense of fairness and due process."

Prior to Derrius being drafted in 2018, there had been anonymous reports made that questioned Derrius’ character. ESPN reports:

According to multiple sources Carolina had removed Guice from it's draft board prior to the 2018 draft over concerns about his knees and his character. Washington's staff is populated by multiple people who were with Carolina at the time including coach Ron Rivera, head athletic trainer Ryan Vermillion And director of pro scouting Eric Stokes.

During his two seasons with Washington, questions arose about his maturity level, according to numerous sources over this time. Most of those concerns, though, stemmed from his approach to various team situations such as medical treatment.

Derrius was predicted to have a breakout year this year, following multiple knee injuries, but not anymore. His season - and likely his career as a football player - is DONE.

News of Derrius’ arrest comes amid bombshell sexual harassment allegations made against five former employees. New coach Ron Rivera has been tasked with improving the culture of the organization, so no surprise Derrius was released immediately.

Soooo my complex must have either hired, or petitioned the county, for a security guard because there’s now a guard outside our parking garage after what has been a very contentious and unsafe week.

After the incident Friday night in which a Spanish woman was harassed by a driver after he nearly hit her as he sped through the garage, the fire truck incident on Sunday that resulted in a vehicle being ticketed for parking in the fire lane during an emergency, and (apparently) a stolen vehicle being pushed into the garage after someone opened the garage to drive in themselves, there is now a sheriff’s dept vehicle parked in the garage and an officer positioned on the first floor.

The woman who was harassed is the one who told me about the guard, as well as what occurred Friday night, so I am definitely going to be going and addressing some concerns with the complex manager tomorrow about the daytime issues -- the illegal parking and double-parking in the courtyard, vehicles speeding down the no-outlet alley and in the courtyard in general, and the overall level of unease with regards to pedestrian safety -- and suggest that there be a daytime attendant that oversees the garage and/or courtyard and then hire me to be that daytime attendant.

Needless to say, something’s gotta change around here because there’s just been one too many incidents lately that people shouldn’t have to worry about these sorts of things.

Max Ming Ming was asked to resign by the Forestville Fire District’s board of directors but his departure was unopposed by the River Fire Protection District Board, said river district board member Mark Emmett. “It was their (Forestville’s) decision,” said Emmett. Ming, who could not be reached for comment this week, was technically an employee of the Forestville district, with the Russian River district paying half Ming’s full-time salary in exchange for Ming’s services as the river district’s half-time chief. Ming technically resigned Dec. 6 from the Forestville district, making his employment with the river district terminated as well, said directors. Ming sent a brief letter of resignation to the Russian River Fire District, said district board president Nance Jones. “We enjoyed working with Max. We wish him well,” said Jones who added the district will continue without a permanent chief for the time being. “We’re investigating where we go from here,” said Jones. “We liked the idea of a shared chief. It was cost effective.” Ming’s total annual compensation serving as chief of both districts was approximately $165,000, including salary and benefits. Prior to being named chief of the two districts, Ming served nearly 30 years as a firefighter in Forestville, where he started as a volunteer in 1984 and was hired a year later as a paid firefighter. Officials said they did not expect an outcry similar to that of four years ago when Guerneville Fire Protection District directors attempted to remove Ming as the Russian River chief, prompting protest letters from firefighters in both districts and ultimately a successful recall election that ousted two river board directors, Kevin O’Shea and Linda Payne. Following that turmoil, Ming was reinstated as the river district chief. Since then he had continued serving as shared chief of both districts without controversy. His resignation came after several closed session meetings with the Forestville district directors. “I think there were a lot of things,” that led to Ming’s departure, said Monte Rio Fire Protection District Chief Steve Baxman, who also served as operations chief with the Russian River District. As for any future joint chief arrangement supervising two districts, “I think that’s over,” said Baxman. The Forestville Fire Protection District’s Assistant Chief, Dave Franceschi, will serve as Forestville’s interim chief. Although Forestville firefighters supported Ming and the shared chief arrangement in 2013, Russian River directors do not foresee a repeat of the 2013 protest. “Do you see anyone putting [protest] signs out?” said Baxman. Yet this article tells me absolutely nothing about why this is coming to pass. Considering his sizable salary one has to assume the worst. Did he sexually harass the secretary, did he steal from the dept., was he having an affair with one of the other fire fighters, or was he found out to be a Russian spy? Even the direct and usually frank Steve Baxman is only offering a snippet of his thoughts. What goes on with our fire district employees anyway? Is the fire department malfunction a by-product of BOS tomfoolery or are our local employees the source of weirdness? Am I the only one who was curious then and still curious now? We give those departments a lot of money and yet one must wonder where it goes. Yes we all already know the funds received by the fire department are NEVER enough, that is acknowledged. And yet when I see Ming walk away from $165K plus benefits one must ask WHY? What malfunction or dysfunction is serious enough to have caused the ruckus in the first place? Incredibly disgusted with the way my nieces school handled her special needs with the police trauma they know she has deal with . We got a last minute automated phone call less then 24 hrs ago notifying us that Sheriff VILLANueva will be attending #hamasakielementary to hand out school supplies (and photo opts for his re-election) what they didn’t tell us was that 15+deputies will be patrolling the hallways, classrooms, cafeteria and premises. We went to the office to pull my niece out of school because she has PTSD from the consistent harassment this Dept gives us. After what felt like a broken record on both sides, Principals words were “Sheriff VIllaneueva is trying to bridge how the community’s sees this (ELA) Sheriffs Dept” that was the answer for such a heavy police presence. Also, when they walk around they continually hang on to the pistols in their holster as if they are waiting to pull it out. We are at an elementary! Sad. It’s even sadder knowing that my nephew Anthony Vargas hangs on the very hallway that they were all lined up against. (at Morris K. Oxford police responded to the following calls: 911 hang up, eight alarms, ambulance assist, three disturbing the peace, two fire department, harassing phone calls, improper parking, lost property, malicious mischief, three motorist assist, noise violation, petit larceny, scam, shoplifting suspicious activity, two suspicious person, trespassing, three utility call out.

Oxford police investigated 13 wrecks, issued 10 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges: DUI 1st, careless driving DUI 1st, No headlights, possession of paraphernalia DUI 2nd, No insurance, suspended license, no tag Public drunk Shoplifting Warrant served

Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Two accidents, three alarms, two disturbances, grand larceny, petit larceny, harassment, juvenile complaint, 22 service calls, two suspicious activities, three traffic complaints, four civil matters, structure fire.

Oxford Fire Department:  Workers sanding sheet rock activated a smoke detector at 801 South 16th Street. Water leaking into a smoke detector at Jackson Avenue Center. Heat detector activation in the elevator pit —the elevator pit was flooding at Hefley Hall. Resident burned food at 1036 Augusta Drive. Wreck with injury —put patient in C-collar then assisted Care Med with loading patient at Jackson West and Anderson Road. Provided mutual aid to county fire dept. at Yellow Leaf Baptist Church. Multiple smoke detector activations due to discharging fire extinguishers as a prank at the Sigma Nu house.

University Police: Three vehicle stops, motor vehicle accident, public drunks, suspicious vehicle, suspicious person, willful trespassing, wrecker, vandalism to a vehicle, assist with traffic.
