Hi Friends~I wanted to share a fellow SCA website. He explains some different fighting techniques with visuals! It is centered around Calontir's style of fighting, but I'm sure many of the tactics are useful to others.
Video from practice in Ashland, Oregon at Lithia Park. Fighters are Ed and Stygian Falsename. We take videos mostly for training purposes. You hear me yell Hold during the video which is our word to stop in place. Anyone who sees an unsafe situation may yell hold so they can keep others safe. A Hold is resumed with all fighters staying in place, the issue resolved or individual hurt removed from the field, and a three, two, one countdown finished with a Lay-on command to resume fighting.

By the end of 1940, just 42 enemy bombers had fallen to the guns of the night fighters. With improvements in technology and procedure this figure increased dramatically to 421 by 1941 and 687 at the end of 1942. The Nachtjagd is taken a heavy toll on British Bomber Command. At that point, it had expanded to a strenght of some 400 aircraft to defend Third Reich at night.
This is a Junkers Ju 88C-6 nightfighter (coded 'R4+AA') assigned to Nachtjagdgeschwader 2 (NJG 2) and piloted by Hptm. Karl Hülshoff, Gruppenkommandeur of I./NJG 2 at Gilze Rijen during the winter of 1940-41. It was an original heavyfighter reissued to night fighter duties. Note the “Englandblitz” emblem at nose.
