Tank update. Cycle crashed recently and has restablized. Devil Spike is pissier than usual, but since the rams and nerites are chill I'll let that sort itself out.

Still unnamed betta girl Heket is doing great. Huge appetite, eats only the tiny snails, zero interest in the corydoras. She DOES eat all the cory food which has become a nuisance I have yet to sort.

Scarlet Temple continues to do nothing but grow algae. I'm surprised the two lotuses haven't exploded yet (words that will haunt me in the future), but the sagittaria is quickly overtaking the bare sections of sand.

Tank as of 1/13, did a water change so excuse the floating bits.

Trimmed everything down last week. Rearranged some of the lower plants to adjust for the overwhelming sagittaria growth.

I would LOVE to get shrimp or ember tetras or something, but with my ph (8.2) I'm hesitant. Heket is very docile (and dumb), but it's just an unnecessary risk :/

Heket's colors are so vibrant compared to the lil chicken cutlet she was two months ago. She continues to do the lunging-at-faces thing so she's getting a lid soon.

Finally got a name for her! Heket, after the bishop of famine from Cult of the Lamb. Aggressive, hungry, and dumb as a rock.

Heket seems to have passed this morning. She was acting a little shy the past few days but was still active and eating.

I'm not sure what could have caused this since she is visually fine. Nothing swollen, no spots or marks. I will test the parameters today, once this is a little less fresh.
