Crowley was clinging to Aziraphale trying to get everything to make sense. He just needed something to focus on. Aziraphale was here, holding onto him. That was enough for the moment. Everything hurt and burned. He felt different, like what he was when he was home had been ripped away and twisted. Put back in a mockery of what it had been. He could hear Aziraphale talking to him. Making a promise. Moving the hair away from his face. Snakelike eyes staring up at him. Everything had changed in what honestly felt like a blink of an eye. One second he had been back in Heaven next thing he knew he was here. Thrown out of the first place any of them had seen as home for something new. He doubted it was as nice. Since this had to be punishment, Crowley hadn’t meant to throw himself in with them.
It took a couple of times opening his mouth for his voice to be able to actually work. Nothing seemed to work right, even his voice seemed to make everything hurt. The promise he was hearing was by no means something he would argue with. The fact that there was still someone here willing to protect him made him feel a little safer.
Still looking up at Aziraphale it took another second for him to be able to find his voice. “Why are you here?” His voice sounded a little raspier than it probably should have. His eyes were wide when realized what Aziraphale being with him right now probably meant and while he seemed to be in something of a better condition the idea still worried him that he might have come down with him.

Those emotions Aziraphale thought would be very normal for someone in the other’s situation. Anger, while the emotion was probably the one that he would know what to do with the others? The tears and grief at the very least he thought were probably harder to understand but they were a part of all of this to. Guilt, that was generally the worst. Aziraphale wasn’t sure how many of them felt that or what else they would know what to do with it. Turn it into an emotion they could use. Anger seemed like a good place to start. Also seemed like this version of himself’s way to deal with the mixed emotions in him.
“Anger isn’t something I’ve had that much experience with. Least not that level.” He’d been angry before. But not in a way to cover up other things. Turn something into it in order to keep himself functioning. “Been holding back a few things haven’t you?”

The anger off coming off the kind of hell was enough to take the air out of the room. The power of it was crushing. Hadn’t felt anything like this in a good while. Demons, like angels had a range in power. This one could send him to his knees so quickly. Each sentence forcing him to take a step away. Holy water wouldn’t be enough, while it worked against most demons there wasn’t much chance it would work on someone like him. Well, not like he was going to be given the chance to try. Really should have thought to bring some around with him. Since he apparently had the devil in such a foul mood. “I’m guessing that us talking about whatever the issue is probably not the best suggestion.”
He was already looking for a way out backing away from the angry devil. He’d seen anger of all kinds. Had it directed at him. There weren’t many that were too happy with him after the whole end of the world thing. He should have known Lucifer wouldn’t have been too happy about the change in the great plan. Though Adam had been the one who helped with that. He was the one that actually change reality.
