Chapter 37

This Love

When we entered the bedroom, I anxiously wondered if it would break the spell. Maybe being back in this room would remind Samuel what happened, what I did to him.

But he just kept kissing me, almost aggressively, and I wanted him to never stop.

He pushed me down on the bed, slowly, his eyes searching my face. I recognised that look, knew he was worrying about being too much for me, too intense. But I wrapped my legs around him and pulled him closer, begged him to let himself go, to stop holding back on me.

He groaned and threw me onto the middle of the bed, pinning me down with his body.

Samuel had been right about me all along. I had been keeping him at arm’s length because I hadn’t loved him and he had felt it, known me better than I knew myself.

It made sense, now, that he had been so restrained around me, that our marriage had felt so fragile.

But now the restraints were off and we both threw ourselves into whatever this was with wild abandon, barely managing to keep quiet so we wouldn’t wake up the girls.

That night we slept in each other’s arms and nothing had ever felt so right.

The next morning, Samuel left before the girls woke up. I could feel myself starting to worry. What if this changed everything? Or worse – what if it didn’t? But he smiled reassuringly.

“See you tonight. I love you.”

“I love you too.”

Then he kissed me goodbye and it felt like a promise.

On a scale of “is occasionally forced to bathe” to “Instagram model with sponsors to hoe for” how involved is your OC’s Skincare routine? -- Showers are every workday, facial cleaning and moisturizers and such varies depending on any makeup or days pollution or allergies

What are your OC’s food preferences (flavors/textures/spiciness/calories/ when and how they eat) and how did they get that way? -- left completely up to no outside input he would probably forget to eat too often and would live on pho and fried dumplings takeout when he remembered.

What’s something pointless/petty/unimportant that IRRATIONALLY ANNOYS THE HELL out of your OC? --he doesnt think that anything is irrationally annoying if its pissing him off that badly. (problem in itself. but you know)

What’s your OC’s response to being asked for money by a homeless person? --usually asking if they need anything specific/does what he can depending the situation 

Does your OC get lost easily? What do they do when they do get lost? --not usually, he is pretty good with maps and directions

What would STOP your OC from Doing The Right Thing in a tense situation? --”the right thing” being in opposition to what is ultimately best for him or people he loves.

Realistically, could your OC (in their normal circumstances- i.e. at thier own house/battlecamp/spaceship etc.) keep a small child alive for a week if they had to?  A Dog?  A Houseplant? A rock with a  smiley face painted on? --yes, though a dog or a very small child may absolutely drive his husband out of the apartment and into a hotel.

If your OC had to take the S.A.T. tomorrow with one night to prep, how would they do?  both emotionally and academically. --fine with any science areas overall but that really isnt a very good test to be taking in your 40s randomly regardless how smart, or not, you are. emotionally he would probably decide it was all bullshit and be damn glad he wasnt a teenager.

What would cause your OC to chose to do something petty/pointlessly cruel? --petty? enough boredom honestly. pointlessly cruel? gotta be a shit enough to him or someone he loves first.

On a scale of “Complete and Justified nervous breakdown” to “Conquer The Entire Galaxy and become an Immortal God-Emperor”, how well would your OC handle being abducted by Aliens? --a solid dose of told ya so and probably a hopeful ‘so like you going to teach me some alien science or something and make my brain not do stupid shit or what?’ and take it from there. 

What song is 100% garunteed to get your OC beyond turnt and will be sung loudly and emabarrasingly, either in public or the shower? --he is forever a late 90s early 00s club industrial goth BUT there is almost nothing that gets him wanting to (poorly) scream into a mic that may or may not exit as MSI, because some things are just like that.

What perfectly-normal-to-them-thing does your OC do that confuses/pisses off/terrifies thier neighbors? --he will 100% do his workouts at random times in the middle of the night and will greet his neighbors in the hall in the exact same way if it is 10 pm, 2 am, or 6 am

Under what circumstances would your OC appear naked in public? --enough alcohol(less than you think) and assurances that he wont be arrested.

What thing did your OC’s parents do that your OC wishes they had a better explanation for? --cant help you there they died when he was young. his brothers drug use was pretty reasonable.

How often does your OC “zone out” or do things on autopilot and how severe have the problems that have arisen from that been? --fairly often but its generally during really actual automatic things. though sometimes he will try to drive to somewhere stupid instead of where he was meaning to

How strong or weak is your OC’s Impulse control? What’s the worst thing that happened becuase of thier Impulsivity or inability to be so? --his impulse control is miserable. he thankfully isnt a generally violent or angry person or that would be a very big problem, this causes some very childish seeming outbursts of playfulness that is received strangely sometimes, the usual drinking and over eating. drugs have been a large problem in the past.

How does your OC sabotage themselves? --inactivity. assuming other peoples thoughts. 

What’s the trashiest item in your OC’s wardrobe, when was the last time they wore it and why do they still have it? --that depends fully on your definition of trashy. we will go with ‘what bothers Ithan the most to be seen with him’ as the definition. that is a very different definition than the question is actually asking but Seth has nearly no shame. if he owns it he owns it tbh so nothing is trashy in his eyes (it is all kindof quirky fashion anyway.) anyway he has this pair of slightly ill fitting stretch denim floral pants and a green button up shirt that is justttt the wrong color of green for with his hair and he gives zero fucks. Ithan is quietly annoyed every time but admits it is a Solid Look regardless, but it is still obnoxious.

How Dehydrated is your OC right now? Are they going to fix this? --probably a bit, and probably not enough in all honesty. 

What’s your OC smell like?  no, not that “Vanilla and Anxiety” evocative stuff, realistically.  Body odor? what have they been touching all day? When was thier last shower? Did they put on any kind of artificial scent? --mostly clean sweat, that 2 days after curry smell, sane amounts of patchouli and rose, rubbing alcohol and disinfectant cleaner, nitrile gloves. (provably also anxiety but like hopefully you are a human and cant smell that)
