Rivals to lovers Magic!AU where Shinsou accidentally turns you into a cat and has to carry you around while he figures out how to reverse the spell. He says he likes you better in this form bc he doesn’t have to hear your nagging lol but highkey thinks you’re adorable. You reluctantly admit that his fluffy hair is a very nice napping spot. You accidentally become the leader of a group of stray cats that Shinsou feeds and he is jealous lmao.

Transformation magic wasn’t one that came easily to most mages training under U.A. High., an academy where elemental magic was its forte. And a transformation hex was even harder to cast, let alone control.

So when you happened to stumble upon the empty classroom Shinsou was practicing in, it broke his concentration enough to change the target of his transformation hex aimed at a cauldron.

For a brief moment, his gaze met yours as he whirled around, wand pointing towards you.

“I know you’re obsessed with practicing so you can finally beat me at something, but you so know you’re missing dinner, right?” you pressed, hand on your hip.

His eyes widened as he tried to stop his mouth from uttering the last syllable of the incantation, but to no avail. He finished the last of the spell, hand frozen in place as a gust of purple smoke curled around your body like vines around your ankles.

“Shit,” he muttered under his breath. That was meant for the cauldron by the desk. Not you.

You sputtered, kicking away at the tendrils but it was already too late.

“What did you do—?” were the last words you cried before the purple smoke engulfed you completely.

When it cleared, Shinsou rubbed his eyes, desperately trying to think of a reverse to the transformation hex he preformed. As he opened them again, in the place of you, he saw a small black cat that stared up at him in confusion.

You opened your mouth to speak but the only thing that came out was a hesitant, “Meow?”

He winced as you glared up at him, the cat giving him the same scornful gaze as you did after witnessing him mess up a spell.

So he turned his rival and bane of his existence into a cat...

Just how was he supposed to fix this?
