giving eris depression is meaningful in context of the plot, this is also about eris confronting his own mental illness and coming to terms with his reality vs his expectations and learning that people do truly love him, while also serving as his conflict throughout the story due to his imposter syndrome and this certainly doesnt help, but its also funny cause you know while hydreigon was like “all pokemon who go near the bittercold suffocate to death because they cant handle their own depression but HUMANS dont get depressed so they can help me” he was like
